The were professional, and friendly, and must of all they did an awesome job on fixing my car! A lady did quite a bit of damage on the drivers side of my car near the gas tank in addition to some rear end damage. She was trying to get in turning lane and misjudged the distance. Don't let the limited ambiance fool you - these folks work hard, charge better than fair prices (my quote matched the final total and was 45% LESS than the other two quotes I got), and do a great job. I was hit and run (no note left) so I was paying out of pocket. I felt like I was taking a small chance on the quality of work, but I really didn't want to pay 50% more. Turns out I compromised on nothing. It's a low pressure place who wants happy customers. Dropped off on a Friday, ready to be picked up on Tuesday and after a request for one teeny tiny adjustment on something I was ready to go in less than 20 min. Please send all your friends here. Currently local auto body shops are flooded with work partly due to the labor shortage, so I couldn't get into the nearest shop recommended by my insurance company. My excellent mechanic (at Auto Repair Plus on Racine) suggested Metro Auto Body. They were really awesome. Love them taking superb care of my older Honda. Went here to fix dent in front bumper and grill. Left the car there two days, went to pick up and they did great job on that work. Got home noticed a new scratch in back passenger side that I know wasn't there before (with pictures to prove). Went back and showed them the scratch and they claim it's not fresh and they didn't do it. Went there hoping they would act in good faith, I don't need the extra hassle so I left, but this was pretty horrible customer service. Never going back or recommending to others. I've dealt with Metro Auto Body twice and both experiences have been stellar. Once our (parked) car was smashed into by a car that lost control (with extensive damage to the side of the car); the other time, a car backed into us in a parking lot (extensive damage to the front of our car) -- and in each case, Metro's quote was by far the lowest and in each case they provided fantastic service. They listened carefully, inspected the car with care, communicated with our insurance company, and worked quickly and efficiently. It was a pleasure. Don't be put off by the exterior of the shop: they are total pros. I hope I don't ever have another accident. But if I do, I'll definitely take my car back to Metro. read more

People, fellow Yelpers, do yourself a grand favor..STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I went here on a reccomendation from another shop. The price sounded nice and the length time they'd have my car was pretty fast. But that's about where the positives ceased! When they told me they were going to remove some very minor rust from the quarter panel and fill in a hole in the wheel well, the $400 price included grinding out the bad metal, building it back up, then painting it. Upon closer inspection they merely BRUSHED (not sprayed) a coat of paint right over the rust as I could still see the imprints of the damage left by the rust. Needless to say, I scurried right back there about a week later. Now, I don't claim to be an expert at "reading" people, but the atittude I picked up was: "Hello, Mr. Anderson we expected you back, and since you have called us on our trickery we'll be happy do the job we said we'd do in the beginning." It's like their motto is "We make it right the Second time...if you catch onto what we did at first". Now to make matters worse, when I brought my car in the second time, I got it back without a working Sound System! I don't know what they did. I don't how they did it. What I do know for sure is that my Amp is less than a year old, and my system worked just fine when I drove into the place. And now I'm stuck because it's my word against theirs. I might have been a little more willing to excuse this as just a bad deal if it weren't their previous shadiness. So, suffice to say I wouldn't reccomend this place my dog's car. And I hope this warning either improves their ethics, or hurts their business. read more

The folks at this little shop are great. They did a phenomenal job on my car, which had a wrecked bumper and a lot of damage on the back panel and rear door. I brought the car in for an estimate before taking it to the insurance adjuster and they came up with a thorough itemized quote and explained what would happen with the adjuster, and went through various scenarios so that I would know what to expect. I brought the care back after meeting with my insurance adjuster and they worked everything out in terms of the bill. About a week later, I got my car back and it was better than it looked when I bought it. No sign of the accident at all. The paint job was perfectly matched and the body worked looked just great. Charlie, the owner, and his crew work magic. If you ever need auto body work, they're the ones to go to. They are professional and easy to work with.They deserve all five stars. read more

This auto shop is irresponsible, the owner is unbelievably rude and disrespectful and will run all over you if you're timid. This place will irresponsibly park your car on the street and will not pay for the damages and problems they cause even though they say they will. I ended up getting a 200$ PARKING TICKET because they parked my car on the street. Not only did the owner refused to pay for this ticket, he dismissed me at the first chance he got when a worker came by to talk to him. The owner waved his hand in dismissal IN FRONT OF MY FACE and pointed at a worker to let him talk. It was EXTREMELY disrespectful and humiliating. Cheap place but irresponsible and unreliable. I will NEVER come to this place to get my car fixed again. Cheap price for cheap quality and service and lots of headache. read more

Work was done right and on time. The only negative was trying to find the place--you see it but getting there is tough because of one way streets. It looks messy but don't let that fool you. Just got my car back yesterday. All my co-workers have the same reaction when they saw my car today: Did someone got a new car? With the same price other repair shops quote me for just fixing the front of my car, Metro Auto fixed the front, another major damage on the left side of the car which I cause months ago, and installed a pair of HID headlight. All within the same price other shops quote me. The last thing, most repair shops said they need 5 days to repair my car, Metro Auto did the repair in 3 days. Dropped off Monday morning at 8am, got the car back Wednesday evening at 6pm. Just in time to take a ride for the Chinese New Year! P.S. Try to go there at 8am if possible, which they will have more time to explain the details and answer your questions thoroughly. I was so happy and lucky to stumble on this shop! After tons of Googling and reading Yelp reviews I decided to pay this body repair shop a visit and I'm glad I did!!! I woke up early on a Saturday morning and drove around to at least 4 other repair shops before visiting this one. All of the other shops quoted me nearly double the price this shop did to fix a really bad dent and scratches my car had from being sideswiped while parked. I have a Audi A4, so I knew it wasn't going to be cheap AND I was paying out of pocket. Charles made my day when he quoted me a price lower than all of the other shops and the work was superb!!! I'm just so excited that I have my car back and I didn't have to spend thousands of dollars for it. And it looks GREAT! I recommend this place. I'll actually take my car back to them for other things as well. Oh and did I mentioned that he was nice enough to have one of his guys drop me off home because I had to leave my car behind. Over the past year, I've been involved in two fender-benders (a rarity for me!). Both times, I took my car to Metro Auto Body and both times their quote was *by far* the lowest. And both times, they did a really fantastic job: they were quick, polite, and totally professional. Payment was easy too -- in the first case, they arranged for payment from the insurance company; in the second case, the other guy paid out of pocket (so, I simply dropped off the car and picked it up after the repair). The guys at Metro were super easy to deal with & in both cases, the car came back in better shape than it was prior to the accident! They are acting like they are very reliable, showing you the old parts that they changed, but don't get fooled. When they need to change tires they switch the whole wheel around to the other side, so you will see that the tire is changed. They did not change my tire and rims that was already charged on my bill, they where supposed to change new parts into my car. The body part work was not done like a professional, when you look closely you can tell. They also threatened to tow my car away and charge a fee. I don't recommend this place. read more

Not pleased with the service here. They are not reliable. I paid for a new tire and rim change, they did not change it, instead switch it to the other side thinking that I will not notice that they did not put in a new tire and rim. They did not return my money($350) for the whole wheel change. They also threatened to tow my car away if I am not paying to take my car back the day of the pickup, while we are arguing. I was about to call the police for threatening us, since they are threatening us females. I do not recommend this place. read more
