Beware of the 5 star reviews! I had a terrible experience with this auto shop. There was a dent in the front bumper of my car and I decided to come to this shop due to the great reviews. I came the first time and asked for a quote to pop out the dent. The owner tells me $30, but they were booked for the day. I come again and they were booked again. I confirmed a second time on pricing and he says $30-$40. I come back the third time and he finally puts a mechanic to work on my car. After the job was complete, the owner asks me the price we agreed on and I told him $30. He goes into a crazy tantrum saying how he would never accept the job for so low and tried to charge me $80. I argued back saying how he told me twice $30 and we settled on $40 cash only. There was faulty airbag sensor found during the dent job, but after this experience, I decided to not continue with their services. The mechanic did a good job, but I would not come back. read more

I stopped by here for the 2nd time and there will be a 3rd and possibly a 4th. 1st stop for the installation of aftermarket running boards for my FJ. It took around an hour for the install. They checked with me on position, etc,. I paid, they were very straightforward and honest with pricing. The 2nd time I stopped by was to get a grille guard installed. This time I left the truck due to Covid. Thank The Lord they are only 5 minute walk away from home. They called me I picked it, checked it and everything was GREAT. I even inquired about some possible minor body work (probably next year). I just scheduled another appointment to swap out the aftermarket boards for original OEM boards as well install of OEM cargo net on the back door. STAY FAR AWAY. Took 5 months until I had my car back which still had issues and had to take it to another garage. They've been reported to trading standards. I had a head gasket issue and dropped the car on the 23rd July 2018, took this Garage 6 WEEKS to resolve the head gasket (gave excuse on excuse when it should have taking max 2 weeks), collected my car for the car to start shaking, stop start function faulty and my engine management light came on AFTER, so the car developed more issues in their care. I had incurred costs due to the delay, they opted to fix the issue TWICE but every time I had an issue the car developed more problem. Finally after having enough took my car on the 9th of November to then realise it was making a disturbing noise when steering. (Made me sign a disclaimer letter saying it could be the inlet camshaft) I had lost total faith in this Garage so I left who would stay after 6 months of no progress. I have text messages and video proof. Took it to another Garage to find out one of the plugs had no gap which was causing the misfire which had an adverse effect on the coil packs. They found out that when taking the front wheel off the screws were held on by a couple of threads, knots were lose and potentially could have caused an accident- SAFETY RISK I requested a full refund and compensation which they refused, I had to cover an extra £600 bill for the new garage to resolve issues which included the camshaft however having had my car for nearly 5 months I had enough. They also refused to cover any expenses incurred (£300+ which was a generous sum by me) apart from £84 for the work done. It even took me nearly 4 weeks to even get a penny from them, ignored my last 18 messages requesting an update on payment. I've spent over £2,000 in garage charges, incurred costs didn't have a car for 5 months and only received £84 This garage has been reported to Trading standards and anyone who wants to discuss or know more about this you can do so by contacting me directly. They will probably try to flag this so any directories / review sites can contact me by email ehioboite@hotmail.co.uk for video and photo evidence. The public needs to be aware of this. After moving to the city, we were looking for a new auto repair shop that we can trust and that is convenient for us to get to. I was referred to Dean with Autos R Us from a friend and we decided to get some general maintenance and body work for our cars we had been putting off for months. The shop is surprisingly only 10-15 minutes away from our new place in Bucktown so it wasn't an issue dropping the cars off. They repaired and replaced the broken front hood and latch on my car (which happened to fly up and nail my windshield which I was driving on the highway just days before) and did a fantastic job. They even touched up and fixed a few dents/ scratches on my car and changed my oil/ air filter as a bonus. They were very professional, showing me before and after pictures of the work done which is very helpful. The price was extremely reasonable and, more importantly, we finally found a shop we can trust. I recommend this place to anyone that lives in or near the city. Its tough to find an auto shop you can both trust and that charges reasonable rates (its usually either one or the other with most places near the city). Brought my car over after checking out multiple shops around the area based on yelp reviews. First thing I noticed when I came into the shop was the fresh car smell and how clean it was. Upon telling them that I was looking to save some money on my car repair, the owner Jim decided to take a look at my car and told me that he will try his best to help and that it should only be around $100 bucks. Other shops were trying to charge me two to three times that. The repair took half a week longer than expected, had to wait for insurance so it was on no part the shop's fault. Got my car and it looked amazing. They cleaned it and washed all my carpets and mats. Jim said that my battery wasn't good so he changed that too and my final cost came out to be $200. I'm completely happy with that. Upon driving my car for a day, I noticed that the new mirror glass that was replaced had a bad curve that hurts my eyes and asked them to replace that glass with my older one free of charge. Jim told me if he had broke the older one he would've brought another one for me. I also noticed a large humming noise when I turned my wheels so when I brought the car back Jim added in some extra power steering fluid and it is completely quiet now. Did I mention that when I dropped my car off, Jim offered that I wait for Dean to come back so he can drop me off at home? I declined the offer as the shop was right off the orange line so I just hopped onto that. Bottom line: Great service, great location, amazing price, will always come here from now on. read more

I was able to experience for myself why this body shop has nothing but 5 stars. As a female walking into a body shop it can be intimidating, but not here! You enter through a side door on western that's kind of hidden so it can seem scary but, when you walk through the door you are greeted with a friendly smile. I walked in and told them I needed a estimate for car damage. Dean said sure I'll come out with you. He walked with me to where the car was and gave me a rough estimate. If you want a detailed printed report they charge you $20.00 but that is reimbursed if you decide to take your car there. They answered all my questions in a timely manner, was always greeted with a smile, and my car looked amazing. They practically detailed it from the inside as well. So not only was my car fixed from the damages outside it was washed and cleaned from the inside. They went above and beyond my expectations. This body shop is family owned/ran by them. The person that hit my car didn't have insurance so they were very helpful with my case. They gave me advice on what to do and I was able to get my damages paid by the person who hit me. I cannot recommend this place enough based on a one-time experience I had with the shop. I was having an issue with my vehicle, called several mechanics around town who all basically refused to even discuss any possibilities of what might be wrong with my car over the phone. All of the conversations with the other mechanics I called were rude, short and uninviting. Those calls went something like this: Me: "Hi Mechanic here is the situation with my car... X is doing this, Y is doing this, can i get an estimate?" Mechanic: "I don't do estimates over the phone, and it will be 5 days to be seen based on all of the work I have ahead of you." This conversation or some variant went on for about 4 or 5 conversations until I got in touch with Dean at Auto's R Us. By that time, I had been trained not to even try and discuss the vehicle details, and simply check for first availability. My conversation with Auto's R Us went something like this: Me: "I need an appointment for my vehicle" Auto's R Us: "Well what's wrong with it?" Me: "X is doing this, Y is doing this" Auto's R Us: "well did you try 1, 2, and 3?" Basically Dean was the first mechanic I've dealt with in ages that did not make me feel uncomfortable for not knowing all the details and inner-workings of my vehicle. The problem with the car was a relative simple fix, and he did not do as other mechanics have in the past and tried to convince me that there was something else wrong with it. AMAZING WORK! and even better, they know what customer service means. The day i dropped my car for repair, they offered to drive me to hertz to pick up my rental, and even took care of the rental car return for me! Paint job quality is one of the best that ive ever seen. The car is blended really well. ON top of that? LIFE TIME WARRANTY (they gave me a lifetime certificate). The shop owner (Jim) and his son (Dean) are very nice and accomodating people, lets just say, theymake your life easy. I did some research which led me to Jim, Dean and their fantastic Body Shop. I called and let Jim know of the situation with my vehicle, that it had been in an accident and I wanted to bring it there for him to repair. He was extremely accommodating and asked me to bring it in ahead of time so that he could assess it and get the parts ordered & therefore get started on it right away instead of having to wait, drag out more time and order everything after the fact and wait even longer. Sign of a great business man right there. Let me tell you, my car went from looking "banged up" back to "banging" again lol. He even went above and beyond and out of his way to even clean up the vehicle before he returned it to me, which I thought was just so awesome of him. He didn't even have to do that you know but he did and when I tell you it doesn't get any better than Jim, believe me it probably doesn't. Nobody ever wants to go to body shop, but coming to Auto's R Us is the best experience you're ever going to have visiting a body shop. I was introduced to Jim and his business over 20 years a ago through my mother who needed someone to fix the back seat of her car because someone had broken into her trunk and tried to get into the car by removing the back seat. Jim knew just what to do and fixed it while she waited. He didn't even charge her for it. Unfortunately I've had to come to Jim on more than a few occasions over the years and every time he's always been honest about the amount of time it would take and the price. Jim usually finishes faster than he estimated and for under the price he quoted. He's always willing to help if you are having an issue with the insurance company. This is the place to to come to. I was originally going to take my car to Moran on 52nd & Archer, but after getting the run around on when to bring it, I decided to not take my car there because of the crappy customer service that I got there. Dean and Jimmy could not have been more honest. In this industry, you really have to watch out. My drivers side window popped and dropped. I brought it in. They were completely honest and open with me. The part was super expensive cause they didn't make aftermarket parts for my window. They drove all the way to the north side to pick up the part at a Volkswagen dealership. While it sucked to pay $270 to fix my window, I know it was a fraction of the cost others were asking. It's a family owned business that preaches customer service/satisfaction while providing the most quality work in Chicagoland. They're willing to work with you to get you what you want/need. I've taken my car closer to home in the South Suburbs, only to be disappointed every time.
