The first look at this place wow the most amazing place amazing food. The salmon plate was so good. The man that gave us the food so nice. The menu was nice. The desserts look so good. and that's why I gave this place five stars . Noe Valley, San Francisco

(Hidden) Falafel Wrap. Good stuff!

This is a nice place for a casual bite in the neighborhood! I never tire of Mediterranean food options and this one is pretty good. Mesopotamia Kitchen has a small, simple interior with a few tables, self-serve water, and friendly service (the person behind the counter spoke Turkish, too!). Lamb Gyro Plate: This is a very substantial portion with lots of delicious crispy bits of meat. It came with a nice salad, rice pilaf, and hummus. Just a solid, balanced, and affordable meal. Falafel Wrap: I wish I got a better pic of this one, but it was really good. Full flavors and spice, plus it was not overly greasy. It comes with a perfectly serviceable side of french fries.

3.5 stars Mesopotamia Kitchen in Noe Valley is a casual, cramped Turkish-style kebab restaurant with a menu of mezze, salads, wraps, and plates. The Appetizer Combo Plate came with a selection of mezzes including three crunchy falafels with tahini, watery hummus, chunky baba ghanoush, creamy tzatziki, and a unique carrot salad mixed with cream cheese. The dips went nicely with the warm grilled pita bread on the side, but the flavors were a bit lacking. A more memorable selection was the Shepherd's Salad, made of chopped cucumbers, tomato, onions, and parsley, along with juicy chunks of grilled chicken kebab. In general, the food here was just average, but the service was incredibly friendly, and this still made for a nice casual meal.

Ambiance is good, you can order for dine in or take out. For dine in, they bring it to your table. For take out, you can enjoy for lunch at the office. Friendly staff, delicious food, and good service. I ordered the Lamb Shish Kebab Plate It came with red cabbage and leafy greens, lamb, rice, and hummus. The pita bread, which came toasted complement the meal very well. For my drink, I ordered the Canada Dry Ginger Ale. A great refresher! Even as I enjoy this plate of Mediterranean cuisine, everything is beautifully plated. Perfect portion, so I like it. I like it, definitely will be back to try something else from the menu.

Lamb Beef Gyro Wrap

Fast casual mediterranean spot in Noe Valley! I had the lamb beef gyro wrap which came wrapped in lavash with some lettuce, tomato, and red onion inside. The wrap looks skinny but goes a long way! I was completely stuffed afterwards. I did wish there was a little more complexity in flavor - it was all pretty salty and I was looking for something acidic to cut the saltiness. I squeezed some of the lemon from the dolmas plate to make up for it. I also wish there was more veg in the wrap for extra freshness. The dolmas were a little pricey for an order of 4. They also had a slight alcoholic taste? The aftertaste and filling were both great, but the initial bite was slightly off. I probably wouldn't get these again. I'm curious to come back and try the vegetarian gyro wrap though! I also liked being able to order at the counter and have the food ready within ~10 mins. If I'm ever craving mediterranean food in Noe again, I would stop by here.

Combo Gyro Wrap - Lamb-Beef and Chicken Gyro with Garlic Sauce, Salad, and Tahini Sauce wrapped in Lavash Bread

For the longest time, I always had the impression that Noe Valley was one of the tougher neighborhoods in SF to find a parking space. So, when one of my friends moved out here, I always felt relieved when he would suggest meeting up elsewhere in the city. What little did I know, though - finding a spot around here is actually super easy (at night, anyways). Which, ironically enough, makes me regret not offering to come out here instead. If I had, then I would've discovered Mesopotamia Kitchen that much earlier! Admittedly, from the outside, there wasn't much about this place that grabbed my attention. However, after hearing about how it quickly became one of my buddy's go-to eateries, I was immediately intrigued. After taking a look at their extensive menu board inside, I could see why! Despite how the majority of the menu isn't especially unique, there's no shortage of enticing options to choose from - wraps, plates, mussaka, dolmas, shakshuka, spanakopita, salads, soups, desserts, and so much more. Plus, they have a good mix of proteins to choose from too, whether it be your usual sort of beef, lamb, and chicken gyros and kebabs to kofte kebab, adana kebab, or iskender kebab. -- COMBO GYRO WRAP - Lamb-Beef and Chicken Gyro with Garlic Sauce, Salad, and Tahini Sauce wrapped in Lavash Bread...$13.95 As good as this looked, the taste was just okay. The portion was great (fries are included!), but the gyros were a miss for me. Despite how moist both gyros meats were, the marinade they use had an aftertaste to it. Still, it wasn't awful, though, and I really like the fries and how fresh the veggies were. -- COMBO SHISH KEBAB - Chicken Kebab and Lamb Kebab with Rice, Salad, Hummus, and Pita...$18.95 I don't always have the best luck with kebabs, but this was terrific! While the chicken was perfectly fine (it had a light char), I thought the lamb was terrific - it was so tender! It was also a pleasant surprise to get a bit of hummus and pita bread (we debated on splitting an order). -- FALAFEL SIDE (3 Pieces) - Grounded and Deep Fried Garbanzo Beans with Zucchini, Celery, Parsley, and Onion...$4.95 You can also get this with five or seven pieces, but regardless, these were so good! Each piece was fried to the perfect crispiness and I liked how soft the inside was. Plus, the consistency wasn't chunky either. -- KOFTE WRAP - Grilled Ground Lamb and Beef Patties with Garlic Sauce, Salad, and Tahini Sauce wrapped in Lavash Bread...$13.95 This was far more successful than the combo gyro wrap - the kofte was so juicy and flavorful! What's more, the seasoning in the kofte was soaked up by the lavash and nicely balanced out by the veggies. Delish! -- SALMON PLATE - Flavored Grilled Salmon Served with Rice, Salad, Hummus, and Pita...$20.95 Even though the color/look of the salmon seemed really pale, this was pretty solid. It was grilled nicely and the center was moist, but I have to admit the deliciously complementary flavors form the lemon and herb sauce really boosted this dish. Also, while I obviously didn't expect service to be bad, I also didn't necessarily expect the workers to be so friendly either! In particular, the woman (owner?) that works the register is ridiculously nice. She warmly greets everyone that walks in and she's really attentive, always keeping an eye out for what folks might need (even the ones sitting outside in their parklet). Between that and how solid the food is, Mesopotamia Kitchen has worked its way into my rotation of go-to eateries as well! That is, so long as parking stays just as easy as it does now...ha!

Chicken Gyro Plate

You can't go wrong with Mesopotamia Kitchen! My go-tos are the lamb gyro plate, chicken gyro plate, and köfte plate--always fresh, flavorful, and made right in front of you. Their fries are crisp and fresh, desserts are delicious and well-priced, and the whole place is spotless. Service is quick, the food is consistently on point, and the staff are always kind, patient, and accommodating--even when it's busy. Highly recommend!

The taziki - very good

We are very lucky to have this place in Noe Valley -- very nice people and great food. We always get takeout but I've seen lots of folks eating there. I love the chicken kabobs -- flavorful and moist -- with rice and salad and a little hummus. The lentil soup is good too. And don't forget the taziki - an especially good version of it. A regular takeout dinner in our rotation.

Chicken wrap & chicken and beef shish kebab plate !

Delicious Mediterranean Feast! This place is one of my favorite! The food was absolutely incredible - flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. I had the a plate and it was amazing big enough to share. Service was friendly and attentive, though it did take a little longer than expected due to a high volume of online orders. Hope this help !

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

Of course a Greek emphasis, but lots of intersection with my Croatian-American culinary heart! The smelts are fishy in a good way, nice crunch, texture, tang of lemon, & sharpness of garlic spread. Very difficult to find, never mind getting it right. The octopus & stuffed calamari were the right texture, seasoning, & flowing with olive oil. Finished with some greens. What a treat! Pro-tip: get the smelts, be bold. My wife raved about her moussaka. Artisan. Nice hint of cloves, right amount of yogurt béchamel. The lamb, beef, eggplant (not watery), & potato all stood out. My sons loved their salmon & chicken. I sampled and confirmed. My bronzino was FANTASTIC. This one was big & better quality than I usually buy. I got it with bones, head, & skin. Poured on olive oil, more salt, & garlic. Yeah, gotta use the hands, chew...graciously pulling out the bones, looking as civilized as possible. Folks, this is Mediterranean: a great fish should be eaten like this. Crisp skin, get the meat from the cheeks & head. Again: emphasis on olive oil mixed with fish juices from bones & lemon! We were stuffed and shared a Baklava. Nobody does it better. Except James Bond, 007, but in a different context. 2 glasses of wine & 2 Shirley Temples for kids. The service was excellent. Attentive. We were in the back & it wasn't loud. Classy servers & classy people enjoying themselves. Oh: great portions too. $407, including 20% tip. Great value for what you get. We've come here for special occasions. They've strengthened the bond, we'll be back more often. So reminiscent of what I eat in Croatia when I visit. Thank you Hellas!

My new favorite dip is the Mercimek Kofte which is a red lentil based chunky dip ; I would've guessed garbanzo bean based dip.
