Ordered a Weber gas grill assembled with a promised delivery on Monday 6/15. At the promised date I called and was informed that the person responsible for the delivery had gone home sick. No call prior. The grill was delivered today and the delivery people refused to set it up and to be sure it worked safely and properly. After attaching the tank I purchased at the same store it was evident that there was a dangerous gas leak and the tank was defective. I called the manager (Dave) and he returned with a new and working propane tank but had to leave in a hurry to go home. He requested I return the defective tank to the store. So they didn't want to set up the grill or take the defective tank back with his truck parked in the driveway. This is a new low in customer service only equaled by the counter person's rude indifferent behavior when I returned the defective propane tank. These are not "The helpful hardware people" and a powerful reason to shop at the Big Box stores or anywhere else. read more

Neighborhood hardware store. I don't usually need a lot of assistance, but they have always been helpful to me. I've even had one of their people tell me that they didn't have what I needed in stock but the orange "big box store" down the way would have it... Making keys is quick and online ordering is simple. I ordered 6 bags of wood pellets online and they put my order into a shopping cart for me -- all I had to do was show up, sign and wheel it out to my car. This is the worst Ace hardware experience I've ever had and that's saying something. Apparently Ace will not return anything that is bought from a different Ace! Bought something as insurance in California and want to return it your local Ace. Not anymore. I'm really disappointed with this new policy but hopefully they loose enough business to change that policy. BTW Home Depot does have this silly money grab policy and I'm sitting in their parking lot as I write this bc I will never go back to an Ace Hardware while this policy is still active. For actual hardware, this place is fine. For uhaul I would never ever rent here again. They act like they have never rented a uhaul before when you show up to pick up. We got double charged today (paid the balance today upon pickup) and when we went to drop off we had to pay yet again because the charge was still "pending" on our account. We paid a deposit, why do we need to pay twice to rent this "19.99 in town" truck. To top it off, the key drop box is absolutely impossible to find, with 0 signage to help you find it. It's BEHIND the store in an alley. Hopefully this helps someone because an hour on hold with uhaul waiting to figure out where to drop the key was a major waste of time. read more

I came in with my two Jeep keyfobs that barely would start my vehicle anymore. Had my little dog in tow with me.....Went back to the key counter, an very helpful manager took both key fobs apart, tested them, found the right batteries, and replaced them for me! Took the two battery pack codes up to the front to pay, was out within 20 min I'd guess. Keyfobs now work and I'm up and running! They are always nice and so helpful ! read more

First off the prices are way overpriced like everything else.... Also who closes a hardware store at 6pm? I realize I live where a bunch of early waking up snowbirds live but come on not everyone gets up early or has a day job. You could at least stay open til 7, 8pm like the rest of the ace hardwares. Daves Ace Hardware just sold me a lemon STIHL MS171 chainsaw. Patrick, the expert salesman on site took over 20 minutes to a half hour to start the saw and said they're hard to start when they're brand new. He started a couple more times which seemed easy so I purchase the saw and left, my mistake. Patrick is not a Stihl expert and the MS 171 with emission control is also a mistake for Arizona. I wish I didn't walk into Dave's for the saw, and I feel deceived. read more

June of 2022 I purchased two (2) Dramm Touch' N Nozzles. After three weeks one of them started leaking from the dial. I contacted Dramm and they explained there was no way of repairing it. I was quite disappointed but decided to return the defective nozzle to Dave's Ace Hardware. They were quite polite and exchanged the nozzle for a new one. Now, 48 days later the exchanged nozzle is leaking in the exact same way. And, the other one is doing the same thing! I don't want to blame Dave's Ace Hardware for the problem because they don't manufacture these nozzles. However I don't recommend any Dramm products and won't every purchase any of their products in the future. I hope Dave's Ace Hardware becomes aware of the poor quality of Dramm products and stops carrying them. read more

Talk about hot heads over there today at Dave's, not sure if it was Dave the owner or the manager Chris that went off the rails on me. I'm a 67 year old contractor and realtor and well respected in the community. Today, I went there to get some glass cut for a broken coach light. The guys in the back said sure, we can cut the glass. I asked to see the glass and plexiglass and they said sure, follow me. When I suddenly heard the owner Dave yelling at me to get back behind the yellow line. As in everyone in the store heard him. I originally thought he was talking to someone else and then I realized he was talking to me (rather yelling at me). You never yell at your customers that way, if there's a beef with a customer, then talk to your employees, in private, and ask then not to let customers past the yellow line. What an embarrassment for Ace Hardware. If I could give them a negative rating, I would. Shame on you, please avoid this place! read more

I recently visited Dave's Ace Hardware to return some light bulbs and to buy other products. They explained they could not do the return until June 1 "because we don't know what kind of germs you are bringing in the store from your home." That would be more believable except they allow customers to shop in their store without masks, and not all employees are wearing masks. People are way more likely to bring in germs than the light bulbs that have sat for weeks in my home. Worse than that, the manager who explained their policy to me (Dave himself I think) was not masked. He seemed incredulous that I would be concerned about that and forcefully said "where does it say I have to wear a mask?!" His attitude seemed belligerent because there is no such order. There were many ways he could have explained his position but his response convinced me he doesn't care about the health and safety of his customers. I mentioned that a mask is mainly to prevent passing germs to others and customers would be healthier and feel more comfortable shopping at his store. I abandoned my items and went to Home Depot. My conclusion is that Dave's Ace Hardware is not a healthy place to shop right now. To repeat, not all employees have masks. I saw no hand sanitizer for customers like in other stores. Their aisles are narrow and on the earlier trip when I bought the light bulbs other customers were wandering near me maskless. It was impossible to socially distance from them. The store does have floor markings at least to help waiting customers keep their distance. I certainly won't go back until the pandemic is totally over. read more

I've always been one to support local owned over big box corporate. With that being said, that typically means paying a higher price for products. Customer service typically makes up for the price difference and is also why I shop hear rather than big box stores. Recently stopped in to see if they had an adapter, while walking the isle an employee asked if the could help; which I accepted. He immediately acted put out when his offer was accepted and was not really willing to help. He got aggravated when asked a question about the product and absolutely did not want to help. read more

I have lived in this area for more than 20 years and I have seen this Ace hardware when it was at its worst. The previous owner ran it so poorly they closed the store for awhile. This new owner has found the right manager in Chris. He is helpful, knowledgable and seems to have a good relationship with his employees. In the middle of The night our whole household heard a loud POP, and in the master bathroom, water was squirting everywhere. We had to get water turned off to even see where it was coming from. We soon found the silver hose that attaches the toilet tank to the water supply had blown off and proceeded to Flood the area. I turned the water off going to the toilet, and the first chance I had I traveled to the locally owned Ace Hardware, where I met Joe. He asked all the valuable questions and set me up with the parts and tool I needed to get the job done. It seemed I ended up having a few more questions about other things and he was very knowledgeable and didn't act like I was wasting his time, like I have experienced from the big box home store. I am pleased I stuck with my shop local and supported something I believe in. Thank you Joe for going above and beyond and helping me every step of the way. The toilet works wonderfully and your guidance made it much easier. If you need a real hardware store like the ones we all used to rely on and that are our neighbors, keeping the revenue in our town and not a faceless orange apron, who tries to dodge you and for god sakes, never make eye contact. Go to Ace, with the helpful hardware man or woman! They will continue getting my money when a situation comes up with an emergency home repair. Way to go Joe and Ace! read more

Polar opposite of Home Depot. I could walk around Home Depot for an hour and no one ask if I need help. At this ACE, I was asked if I needed help finding something within 30 secs and he new exactly what and where it was. I'll be a repeat customer until that changes. read more

Once again - 5* for our local hardware store! As I refuse to leave the house on Black Friday and today was Small Business Saturday, we ventured to Dave's Ace Hardware to do a small bit of shopping. I had my heart set on a light up reindeer (yeah, that's a long story, don't ask) I'd seen advertised. We couldn't find in stock but Gail was as helpful as always and told me I could buy it, and pay for it today (rather than a rain check to take advantage of the AmEx promo) and they'd place the order from the warehouse and call me on Wednesday to pick it up. I have tried to support this local store as opposed to going to Home Depot or Lowes but I just give up. This is the 3rd time I have stood by the desk to get a key made and waited 10 plus minutes. As I was leaving I passed an employee and asked if they had time to make keys as I had waited at the key counter. I was told "they were busy". This time I just gave up and left. I saw them helping others so was patient but it seems I have to wait and end up spending a long time each visit on what was just a quick trip for one or two items. No more attempts to use this neighborhood store. read more

I purchased some sockets from this location . the sockets I got were 6 point and I needed 12 point. While trying to return them a few days later at the same location with my receipt I walked in and asked the lady at the register if I would be able to return these. She seemed as if I was inconveniencing her. She asked me if I used them and I told her no , then she told me that one time she got in trouble for returning something that was used. Usually Ace Hardware's like these have very marginal customer service. I find this is true no matter which case I go to. I love this store! They always have everything I need. Every time I go in there are a bunch of people working and looking to help me out and find whatever I need. Best service ever. I cannot tell you how happy I was with the lock service from Ace. They definitely get an A. And I am a hard grader. Big box stores have there place, but you cannot beat the service that I received in the 'lock department'. They went way above and beyond what anyone would expect to get a working lock for my front door. A month late in posting this review, but a million thanks. read more
