Jeff is a LIAR! My husband brought his lawn mower there to fix. He received a phone call 2 weeks later letting him know it's ready. When he went they couldn't even find it. Once they found it, they told him they never even looked at it yet. They had already charged $100. He was very rude and unprofessional about the situation. Buyer beware, we were completely robbed by the owner of this place. We reserved a piece of equipment for a particular day. When we went to pick it up, it was not in proper working order. Aside from the fact that the machine itself had not been examined properly before giving it to us, and had many loose and faulty parts (like blades and other potentially dangerous things) the trailer it was on was rusted, wheels had dry rot, and the brake lights were not working at all. Additionally, the hook holding up the trailer was in such poor condition that the owner sloppily used a huge rock to slam it into place on our truck (not very professional, BTW). The machine was in horrendous condition and absolutely not safe for use or road-ready/legal by any stretch of the imagination. Since the trailer itself was illegal to use on the road (again, no brake lights!! I mean really), we refused to take it out for the safety of ourselves and other drivers around us. Owner charged the credit card the $300 anyway. I'm sure he will respond to this review claiming that we "cancelled" our order or "changed our minds" which is 100% not the case. We needed a stump grinder in decent working order on THAT particular day, and he could not provide that to us. He is offering us a store credit not for products, but ONLY for rental equipment on another day that we absolutely do not need! We needed it on the day he promised to provide it for us, but did not. It's completely absurd, illegal and unethical that he charged our CC for an unusable piece of equipment and refused to refund the money. The owner is a thief. Based on other reviews it's completely unbelievable that he is still in business. Go elsewhere. I'm sure there are plenty of other rental places in the area with more ethical business practices and proprietors that actually respect their customers and don't rob them blind. read more

I purchased a 1 yr old riding mower from Merit Hardware and asked if they had serviced (oil, filter and blades) it and they said yes. I got the mower home and there had been no servicing and worst of all there was water in the engine oil as it was all milky. I tried contacting them to return it (within 24 hours) for a full refund and was not able to. Awaiting him to respond. read more

Higher prices than any other STIHL dealer in the area, maybe the state. The old owner at least seemed to care about the business and his customers, but his employee, the new owner, has personality issues and NO sense of customer service, a prime example of why people are buying sub-par, disposable power equipment (if you can even call it that) from the big box stores instead of REAL tools from actual service and repair centers. The selection of parts is useless, even down to the most common maintenance and repair parts for the most popular machines. The time for parts to arrive isn't terrible, but it seems many are on "back order" and when they arrive the prices, not given accurately over the phone mind you, are inflated. The store is dim and dated looking, and the service turn around time is long. Don't go here, it needs a new-new owner. read more

Unethical thief. They do not pay. We sold them product in January of 2015 and April of 2015 and he has not paid for either invoice. He owes $2536.04. I've purchased from Jeff now on two separate occasions now, the first one he delivered me a bobcat 61" Z machine with a free backpack blower and a straight shaft weedwacker from stihl. He offered free no interest financing and made the deal a real smooth transaction. After two years later I reached out to Jeff again and inquired about a new to market 21" bobcat mower via Email and Jeff responded almost immediately, He stated that he had not stocked them as of yet but could get one next day. This time I took a ride to him about 130 miles each way,and he had got what I wanted, I picked up a new blower and chainsaw while I was there,and he again offered me zero interest for four years financing, I was in and out of his shop in less than 20 minutes. My experience with Jeff was awesome! What an awesome person to talk with and do business with. They were very unprofessional. I rented a bounce house for a Saturday, they never told me they were coming a day before to set it up and it was an inconvience for me. Then they charged my card to hold the bounce house and they never told me that I was paying for it with that card. They also told me it was $200 over the phone and then when I got the bill it came up tp $281.00 that included delivery and taxes which they never told me about. The bounce house was so dirty and it was wet. The person dropping it off was very nice and helpful but he didn't know anything. I asked him when were they picking up the bounce house; he didn't know and I couldn't get in touch with anyone. The bounce house has been sitting at the site for more than 3 days. I will not be using there services again. read more

AWFUL Experience! Inflatable slide wasn't delivery at the time stated- early Friday morning. Was delivered at 1pm on Friday instead when I was at work. It had a hole in it and had to have 2 different guys come to try to fix it during the party. Was on the phone with Jeff and he insisted that the pool part of the water slide was not suppose to fill up while both repair guys stood there shaking there heads and told me there was something terribly wrong. The pick up guy calls me Monday in the middle of the day (while I am at work 35 miles away) that they were going to come and pick it up and I need to plug it in so that it is dry. Do Not Use! This place is terrible! They advertise that they can also do party equipment rentals. I was given their name from a concierge service, so I assumed they were reliable. I was planning for my father's 70th birthday and I called Merit rental and reserved a popcorn machine with a month's advance notice. In addition to the machine, I ordered popcorn with butter and popcorn boxes for ~ 100 people. I left a credit card number to hold everything. When we arrived to pick it up on Sat we were told to come back because it was still packed in the truck. We went back an hour later and they gave us the popcorn machine, but did not have any of the supplies! There was no popcorn, no butter and no boxes. I was upset, but took the machine anyways and proceeded to go to the market to by the supplies. Once I reached the venue for the party we began setting up the machine. It was disgusting on the inside. There was a dead fly inside the grates and the interior of the popping bowl was beyond disgusting! It was caked with thick black muck throughout the inside and had old burnt popcorn pieces as well. It was not something you could just wash out! I immediately brought it back and had them return my money. They could have cared less! I had been planning this party for months and this was a key element. I am beyond disappointed. I selected this vendor and thought they would be safe, but they were a huge disappointment! The customer service was atrocious and they were not apologetic at all.
