This Power Equipment store has to be the worst one that you can buy from. After purchasing equipment from them, they have given me nothing but issues when trying to source parts. I call and ask for help and get told consistently that I will receive a call back that never ends up getting back to me. They sold me a zero turn mower that they can't source any parts for making it impossible to repair not to mention they offered zero dollar shipping. read more

If you enjoy being lied to and then physically threatened when you confront the lies then this is the place for you! This place should not be in business! Pay the extra $100 and go someplace with a professional rep! read more

I would strongly advise avoiding this company. I brought my lawn mower in for service , but not only was the original problem left unresolved, they also attempted to charge me twice. To make matters worse, the replacement belt they installed shredded immediately after receiving it back from them. When I called simply to check on the status of a replacement part, I was met with extremely unprofessional behavior. The person I spoke with, who state he was the owner, swore at me during the conversation. No customer should be insulted or verbally abused for asking a reasonable question, as I had been waiting 3 weeks for the part to arrive. The entire experience was frustrating and unacceptable. I would gladly pay more to do business elsewhere if it meant receiving competent service and being treated with basic respect There are plenty of companies that value their customers and stand behind their work; unfortuanely, this is not one of them. read more

When I went to pick up a mans equipment the man told me he thought this place would become a dealer but never did and never received his check for the equipment.. he only gave me half of what was on my bill of lading. I called the guy and told him not everything was available to pick up and he was in disbelief. I took my phone inside for the owner to talk to the man, and immediately I could tell the conversation wasn't going to go well when I seen the ass hole. He screamed at me to get off his property in front of a few costumers when I asked for the whereabouts of the man's stuff. Then calls the man on the phone a bitch and a faggot and tells the man that he SOLD THE EQUIPMENT. Don't go here unless you feel the need to get ripped off l!!!! read more

Terrible experience with the owner Jeff Mullins and Merit hardware and its hard to believe that they're even still in business. I gave Jeff my credit card over the phone to purchase a BadBoy Zero Turn for the full amount. In less than 24 hours I went to their shop after reading the terrible online reviews to request a full refund. Keep in mind that on their website it says "full refunds are given on unused items within 30 days." I never even picked up the Zero Turn, so I had nothing to return. I was told by the store clerk that I would have to speak directly to Jeff the owner about the refund and asked to have Jeff give me a call. He never called, so I called him twice about the refund. He was very short with me on the phone and basically said, Yea, I'll take care of it. It's been roughly two weeks and still no refund, so I had to go through the trouble of filing a dispute with my credit card company. Jeff was very nice when I was buying, but his personality totally changed when I wanted to cancel the sale. All he had to do is simply refund my money and there would've been no problem, but he did not. If you don't believe me, please go to the state judicial case look-up and search Jeffery Mullins, Merit Hardare and Merit Rentals and decide if you really want to do business with them. You might get a great price on equipment, but will they stand behind a warranty especially if it will cost them money which would make the warranty useless. https://civilinquiry.jud.ct.gov/PartySearch.aspx read more

I ordered an engine online, they shipped the wrong part which I provided from the SKU that was sent vs what I ordered. They never apologized, told me to ship it back to them at my cost. They did finally send the freight company back to get the part. I was told the correct part would ship when they got the wrong part back. I followed up to see when they would be sending the new part and I got an email back with photos showing a broken box asking if that was how I shipped it. I informed them it was not, my neighbor was present when I loaded it in the truck and XPO would not accept it had it not been in tact. I asked again when the new part would ship and I was told they will be refunding because they don't do business with people like me. whatever that means. Do not trust this company. read more

I hope Jeff realizes how poorly his employees treat customers when he is not there. I went in and it was as if I was a bother. I had to find them to ask a question. Feet up and disinterested, Victor was about as friendly and helpful as a bad rash. If it were my place, I would have fired him on the spot. I came in with money in hand to buy a Maverick or ZT that was already on your floor but the attitude I got was ridiculous. He denied even speaking to me about the model I wanted the day before. How did I know to ask for Victor then? Jeff, you and I spoke a few weeks back. I visited. After my experience with this guy, I drove 45 minutes away and paid full price for a model that won't arrive for another two weeks just so I never have to deal with that crap again. read more

Bought a brand new Rebel this year. I wanted a rebel X but his salesman assured me that the rebel will work just fine. Well it didn't. Problem after problem. Finally after some heated phone calls and being threatened by Jeff personally he agreed to take the rebel in towards a rebel X and an additional 2K. Well first 10 min of using it bolts start falling off. Called the sales rep and he said "look at the parts schematic, don't know what to tell you" well this rebel X has 45 hours on it and the bagger is bent due to cheap Chinese metal, the frame is bad from the factory (factory confirmed it) engine has no power and deck lock is broken. Radio silence from Jeff and bad boy corporate. Filed with the BBB for help as well. Put many calls into cooperate and to other dealers. This guy is so hated that other dealers won't even help me. If I were you I'd never buy a bad boy and more importantly buy from this place. read more

Sent a cancellation email showing $0.00 will be refunded. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They will put you on hold for half hour only to jerk you around with 10 different stories. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MERIT HARDWARE LLC AKA AS MERIT RENTALS SCAM SCAM SCAM. As with several other reports I see I did not get product or refund. Ordered engine, never got it. They are smug and don't care and will steal your money with a smile . Jeff Mullins is thief. He was recently sued by Briggs and Stratton Llc for $32k for not paying them and another supplier also sued them. How these people are still in business is beyond me, oh wait, they just steal money! You can't do anything about this and it's just 800 dollars so what go to court over it? He knows this and has stolen a lot of peoples money. I also learned another lesson, don't buy anything online that the website looks like a 1990s angelfire site. Court cases I found online. Do not buy from these people!! I bought a $7000 lawnmower there in June that did not come with a manual. I spoke with and individual there immediately after delivery to notify them I needed a manual, they said they would mail one right over. I called back a couple weeks later and no one knew what I was talking about, nothing was mailed out. Same thing happened 3 times, in July I was told they could not get a manual and they would email me one. They emailed me the parts manual not the maintenance manual. I called back telling them I need a hard copy of the manual, after arguing with a person on the phone they took half of my address and told me they would see what they could do, then hung up on me when I asked them their name. I would reach out the owner but after reading these reviews he seems pretty useless too. Could not be more disappointed with the customer service, do not buy from this place. I will be notifying the manufacturer of the terrible business practices of their vendor. read more

I was very nervous dealing with this company because I found them on Craigslist and had to put a $500 deposit down. I have to honestly say I could not have been happier from the initial contact to the final sale. I purchased an inclosed cargo trailer. The pricing was great and they delivered it to Long Island for $99.00 ! It would have cost me double that if I went up to pick it up. I dealt with Tony. This guy is a huge asset to this company. He kept me in the loop, took my multiple calls after hours on his cell and kept every promise he made to me. There was a one day delay because his supplier was late but he let me know and delivered on time the following day! This operation is a class act. Also shop it around and I guarantee you wont find a comparable trailer at this great price anywhere in the northeast. Thanks again Tony.. read more

Th was by far the WORST ON LINE BUYING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I ordered a bad boy mower chute blocker and the order said it ships in 2 days. One week later no communication from Merit and no sign of the order. I e-mailed their site more than once with no reply. I then called their number and after waiting several minutes was told it was being shipped that day. One week later the product had not arrived so I once again e-mailed with no response. I called again to be told it must be lost in shipping and my credit card would be refunded. nearly a week later my card was not refunded and the product showed up at my door with no communication from Merit. Meanwhile I ordered the part through Amazon and received the part in three days. terrible service at this place my wife and I was looking at bad boy tractors and seen there add on Craigslist! called and talked to Jeff the owner about one and he said it was in stock and ready for delivery! wife did the financing over the phone and set a delivery date for 5/16/2023. I took the day off to take possession of the machine but received a email saying that the tractor wasn't coming today because the truck didn't come!!! hmmm! so I called to see what was up and got some kid who told me I knew this already because we spoke on the phone and he said that I sounded sleepy!! weird so told him it wasn't me bud because I was cutting hay all day but looking for the tractor at the same time! called Jeff and he said that the truck delivery never came and was looking at Friday or Saturday! now again this tractor was supposed to be there on the lot! it wasn't what he did was lied about it and made my wife sign a purchase agreement online then he ordered us one! he never had it! called to cancel it because another dealer had several to take asap but told us that he wouldn't cancel it and that it's a done deal and we would have to wait! with very unprofessional attitude I add. I would have escalated the cancellation further by contacting the finance company but he told my wife that soon as the machine gets delivered we will have it! again!!! we didn't order a machine we were purchasing one that he supposably had! complete lie that's why he won't cancel it because he had to order one! I should have read the reviews on merit hardware before I even called! another local dealer said they get the same story told to them about this place! we are a trusting couple but businesses like this makes it hard to do so again!!! so read this carefully and make a decision on if you want to take the chance! so currently we have a invoice for a tractor that was supposed to be in our yard but instead had to be ordered because they never had one! read more
