Each pair of pants I specified that I like them long and all were hemmed above where we had agreed when I initially took them in. None of my pants work now unless I'm wearing them low low low rise. On top do that I took a sheer dress with a detachable lining and I'd only asked for the outside dress to be hemmed. The lining was hemmed so short that my entire butt is out now and you can see through the dress. I'd also asked for the waist to be taken in and you can see the chalk is still there and it was not done. I am so disappointed.

However, I've had problems with designer jeans I've had hemmed there. Firstly, they usually hem the jeans shorter than I ask. Usually about a half inch. But sometimes more. Lately, the hem lines have been terribly erratic as well, as evidenced by my photo. I'll probably give the cleaners on the corner a shot. For a hemming job that probably takes 5 minutes and demands $10, they could at least sew the hem line straight.

I brought in my child's vintage souvenir jacket (worth around $300) for dry cleaning, and it came…read moreback visibly damaged. The satin fabric was clearly burned and shrunk, with obvious texture changes compared to the untouched inner lining. When I pointed it out, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, the owner immediately blamed their cleaning company and said it wasn't their fault. As a customer, I did not hire their third-party cleaner...I hired this business, which makes them responsible for the handling and condition of my property. What made it worse was the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer service. I had to insist on not paying for the cleaning, and while they refunded me, there was still no apology. Big sigh only. I understand that dry cleaning can sometimes damage clothing. I've had garments damaged by other cleaners before. However, what makes the difference is how the situation is handled afterward. In this case, the complete lack of responsibility and basic respect as a customer is what I find most upsetting. If you care about your clothing, especially delicate or vintage items, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. You should be aware that if an item is damaged here, responsibility may be denied rather than properly addressed.

Jacket came in with fine condition (no holes or tears) and came out with multiple holes as pictured below. Olya patched one of them (the largest) but not the rest and I didn't receive a refund. I think the dry cleaning facility they send things to uses harsh treatment and doesn't handle products gently. TLDR: Multiple holes in jacket after dry cleaning, incredibly rude staff (guy behind the counter).

This review is for self-service…read more SO, I decided to try out other neighborhood options after going to the same chain laundromat off Fulton Street for years. My first impression was not promising given that the hours weren't posted anywhere I could see online and upon calling Three Stars found that information impossible to extract. More on that later. I was (sort of) told that it wouldn't be too busy around opening time at 8am. I got there a little after 9am and there were still a lot of available washers, but man, this is a tiny place. It uses coin-operated machines, and it felt like there were seriously like 8 dryers. (Maybe there are 10? At least 3 "out of order"?) I started composing a Yelp review as I did my laundry, "If you consider doing laundry to be a competitive sport, then 'Three Stars' is like qualifying for some Olympics..." You will definitely bump into everyone in the place at least once while you vie for a machine. Practice your politeness and "excuse me" with a half-smile before attempting to come here. There are definite communication barriers with the staff, even for simple requests (sorry! it has to be said!), and there will be people who hog the laundry carts (empty) while you pay relatively the same prices as the chain laundromat ($4 for small, $6 for large). What are the positives? The machines were awesome (and I never use the word) because my white cotton duvet cover came out bright and clean like never before. All the machines seemed to be super clean as I saw the staff actively wiping them down while I was there. I definitely paid $1.00 for the dryer (and 28 minutes), but it dried my duvet cover and a full size sheet set, including flat sheet and pillow sham, completely within that time. At the mega-chain, I would have easily spent about 45 minutes drying and still not get them that dry. Would I go back? Yes, possibly, if I could figure out an off-hour to go (within their limited business hours). Time to start gathering all my quarters like the good (bad) old days and say goodbye, plastic laundry card.
