Don't go to Meridian vision. Dr Hogg is unethical and dishonest. when called out, he tried to hold the prescription hostage. the receptionist is hostile & rude to put it mildly. Will be reporting them to the Attorney General's Office. read more

Had a good experience with Meridian Vision. Dr. Hogg and his reception team took good care of me and the process for getting the eye exam and contacts exam was simple. My bill for my vision and contacts exam came out to be much cheaper than what I was paying from my last optometrist. Even my daily contacts for the year came out to be hundreds of dollars less than my last prescription. Really wanted to help a local business around my town.. but honestly these guys are unprofessional and way over priced for what they are. Frames cost an arm and a leg and even with insurance it's costly. Regardless don't go here for frames or lens, America's best will take care of you for half the price. I had an eye exam here 2 years ago and bought a pair of glasses I loved! The process was timely and no problems. The real cement for my loyalty was yesterday. I was driving and all of a sudden I had a burst of what looked like black spider veins in my right eye. I couldn't blink them away and I was terrified. I pulled over and called Meridian Vision. The darling receptionist, Christina answered. I explained what was happening. She calmly said "You need to come here now, ok?" I was a half mile from them so I drove there. I have been a long time customer (over 15 years) and have been going to him since I was a kid. My fiance changed jobs to an out of state one and was about to lose his insurance. I called to see if we could get his prescription filled for another year so he would have contacts until he got insurance again (standard 6 month waiting period and kicks in on the 7th month) and they said no because he was due for an exam next month. The front desk lady said that they would not be able to fill them because of legal reasons, when I asked what the law was she would not answer me and kept trying to answer with policy then. I said it was sad that they would not fill them because they wanted the money from the exam. I will never support their business and will recommend other vision places from here on. I was very disappointed with his office today. He is losing a long time customer because of the actions today. I would also like to tell me story with meridian vision along with my fiance's. A little over a year ago I decided I wanted a pair of glasses. Since I wasn't going to wear them the majority of the time I bought his cheap $100 glasses. I get them in and they are way to strong of a prescription, so string I can't wear them without getting an instant headache. I tell him this and I go back in. He says he won't change them because they are already lower than my contacts and a weaker prescription than what I had in the 6th grade (im 27 now and that is how long I had been going to him). I tell him again that they are to strong and that I can't see out of them. He tells me to just get used to them. I have tried to her used to them and finally gave up. I wasted to much money on those glasses for them not to work and he didn't want to change them because he is to lazy. read more

If you are considering Dr. McElroy at Meridian Vision I would strongly recommend you do not go ever.This just happened to me! I haven't had glasses very long and I went to Dr. McElroy with a previous prescription. I told him that it was incorrect and listed all the many problems it gave me. I wasn't going to leave my glasses prescription up to miscommunication so I was very specific when I told him my vision concerns.During the very swift exam, my interrupted questions about why the better lens options he showed were blurry were ignored. By the end of the exam, I hadn't seen through any lenses that I felt comfortable with, but I was assured that all my vision concerns would be solved. Fast forward I get my glasses and 10 minutes later I call the office because I can't see. Message taken, am promised a call back no call. Call back the next day after no call all morning and am told that only the doctor and Debbie the office manager know the answer to my problem and Debbie is out. So I ask if I can speak to the doctor and am told I will get a call back. Then unfolds a series of weeks of hedging and call backs from Debbie the office manager who is probably the rudest and most dishonest person from a medical office I have ever dealt with. They use this woman as a shield and she takes the job with pride. I was told that the Doctor could not speak with me on the phone because if he called back his patients he would spend all his days on the phone. He eventually did leave me a voicemail but refused to answer my questions.Debbie and Dr. McElroy tag teamed avoiding telling me what Meridian Vision was prepared to do to correct the problem. (Keep in mind, I have glasses I can't see through this whole time) I had already used up my vision benefits at this point so I can't go back in without knowing my costs. It took WEEKS for Meridian Vision to tell me that Dr. McElroy would see me for an exam free of charge. But he only agreed to give me an exam to and I quote "determine if your prescription is correct or not" Debbie at Meridian Vision outright refused to tell me if Meridian Vision would or would not pay for my replacement lenses. She told me that only the doctor knew that. I then asked if I could speak with the doctor and she refused. So I asked her if she would ask the doctor she then said I was screaming, unreasonable and then hung up on me. finally gave up and went elsewhere at 100% personal cost. It's a good thing I did though. I went to Costco and lo and behold I have astigmatism Dr. McElroy completely missed! my doctor at Costco was horrified when he realized that a doctor had sent me driving on the road in that prescription. If you've seen this review somewhere else, please know that it is precisely because I am so sincere that I am posting it everywhere I can. I wish someone had wrote a review like this before I had gone to Meridian Vision. read more
