It is now been a week since I originally called this business. I called to establish myself as a new patient and make sure they took my VSP insurance. They stated they would call me back. I called them again about four days after and again, they stated they would call me back. It has now been a week and all I can surmise is that my business is not wanted nor needed. Congratulations to this business if they are doing so well that they can ignore new patients with vision insurance. However, I would not want to be getting my eye care from a place that so easily dismisses people. They simply could have stated from the beginning that they are too busy for new patients. I wanted to clarify (and address Artisan's response) that my issue was not an insurance coverage issue. My review was based on the fact that I had specifically informed the providers that I did not believe the treatment was working and that I did not wish to proceed after all pre-paid treatments were complete. Thereafter, Artisan ran additional tests without advising that they were not included in the pre-paid services and billed my insurance company. After partial coverage by the insurance company, I was billed the balance. The bottom line is that the tests should not have been run without explaining to me that there may be additional costs to my insurance company and/or me. I will never return. read more

Artisan appears to be divided into two separate parts as business; the opticial (eyeglasses) and the optometry services of the doctors which seem to be separate side-by-side buildings. Reading Yelp reviews sorted by date ("newest first"), I observe that in what seems like a pattern of 1 and 2 star reviews in the last 18 months or so, the dissatisfaction is with the optical side of the business not the optometry side. This review is for the optical side based on multiple visits looking for eyeglass frames. EYEGLASS FRAMES: Artisan is the only supplier in SW Idaho for certain top-shelf artisan frames such as Theo, Face a Face, Bevel, Anne et Valentin and Barton Perreira that can run from $375 to well over $500. Some of these brands make designs that are bold and high fashion forward and some make designs that are classic but timely (my zone) out of beautiful acetate and metals with hand crafted excellence. I am at a point in my life where I both appreciate the top quality of these lines and can afford to pay for them. But I won't be buying frames here due to service issues. And pricing policy where at least some frames were quoted at about 15% above full retail. We'll call these snafus that eroded my trust in this retailer. SNAFUS: Service seems somewhere between untrained (as in "I don't know" when asked where one brand was made and what was the warranty...I now know because I contacted the maker directly) or indifferent (as in "I'm not sure" when asked if a frame came in other colors...I now know the answer because I went to the web site and looked up the model) or dismissive (as when the distribution rep for one line was in town for trunk show and rep and staff were more engaged in talking about how tickets were scored for concert that night than helping customers). On one ocassion I did find a frame but it was in the wrong color for me and when I asked if they could order a color that seemed the right one I was told only if I paid a hefty deposit which was not refundable. (For a frame that was over $500 in price.) On another occasion for a different brand given on one pair of frames I inquired about the price Artisan quoted me was more than $50 above full retail price when I contacted the company direct to confirm. Tilt. My point with the companies who make these lines might be if they wonder why they aren't selling them in Boise, the second fastest growing city in the US, in the way they are in Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake or San Francisco they might look at how their only retailer displays, represents and prices them. Maybe they need to evaluate their distribution rep too. DISPLAY ISSUES: Looking for frames here is awkward given they have them only behind / inside glass cases...as if one were shopping in a jewelry store...and needing help to get to the merchandise one cannot browse and examine options on one's own. I've noted how some customers are left waiting for long periods in spite of multiple staff being in the room. Noting Jim C's 1 star review on his recent (December 2019) experience here and I can say I have observed customers being treated similarly to what he describes. PROCESS PUFFERY: What makes me chuckle, in the way of they must be kidding, is that on Artisan's web site they mention how a customer can come in for a free, personal style consultation to talk about the right frames for them. Isn't this what any good trained optician does when one goes in to shop in any eyeglass howroom? And more to chuckle - or groan about - is if one goes to Artisan's web site to look at click thrus to brand information there one will be bombarded with "Can I Help?" pop ups for attempts to make a sale via that channel. Go figure. There seems puffery at the bricks and mortar Artisan that would be comical were it not so frustrating to have them be the only authorized retailer for brands I like. ONWARD: I moved on to a bricks and mortar retailer elsewhere to buy two frames in brands carried here. It was less convenient for me but I received stellar service and was not charged above retail prices as I was quoted here. PARKING: Private lot. ADA parking at far end of the strip mall on both ends. ACCESSIBILITY: All on one floor. The counters for trying frames in the retail area appear to be all at standing height. (This is a "tilt" for ADA non-compliance in this new space and the equal access law is 30 years old.) The loo is accessible. ALTERNATIVES: Although one will not find the same top end lines in these other local shops, for top notch service alternatives for those looking for eye wear across price points and skilled optical staff in knowing product lines and assisting customers and quality lens making, I'd recommend Vision One in Eagle and Meridian and also Six One Six in Eagle. .I really like Dr. Kronberg, the gal who checks my son's eyes. Very accommodating with fidgety toddlers. .Not so happy with the Mira Flex brand of nylon frames - of which we purchased 3. When a lens comes out, seems nobody (including Artisan specialists) could fix it in place again, to stay more than a day or so. The last incident happened within the same day after a lens was re-installed at Artisan, and the lens is lost. .At some point, my boy noticed his glasses didn't work anymore, and bit onto the empty frame. Now the frame cannot be re-used. 80 dollars hurts too much to try the same frame again and hope for a different result. read more

I always feel like I'm getting a top of the line Eye exam when I go to artisan optics,they are personal and professional

Love Dr Kronberg, however after taking my daughter here for years and having vision therapy there, they missed the autoimmune uveitis that caused worsening eyesight. As well as the macular edema that likely caused permanent damage in her eye. We are still fighting it. Also missed the color blindness in one of her eyes, which would have led to a diagnosis. The frames are ridiculously over priced. And lastly I needed her medical records either faxed to a doctor or given to me, and was told they needed 30 DAYS to process it!! Who requires that in this day and age? No one does, I worked in a hospital and doctors offices for decades...no one does! read more

DO NOT GO UNLESS... you are personal friends of a worker there. I went in for a simple adjustment. "Please have a seat, we'll be right with you." I have a seat then a few minutes later a woman walks in and calls someone but their first name. Immediately she was taken to the adjustment counter. I stood up and was told "don't worry, you're next. Then they tried to laugh it off with "sure she went ahead of you but you get ME. I'm the best." Funny. My family have previously used Artisan even though they are twice the price of anyone else in town. No longer. I left, went to Perle Vision and they helped me immediately with kindness and efficiency even though they were not Perle's frames. No one should have to tolerate Artisan's attitude especially at their outrageous prices. *My review would be less than one if it were an option! read more

This place has changed our lives! We have worked with Dr Jill & Dr Ryan and they are both fantastic! They detected my son needing eye training and have completely changed his life for the better. I can't say enough about how the whole team here is from the moment you walk they definitely make you feel special! I would definitely recommend this business. After requesting for my prescription a number of different ways, including written requests for an emailed or faxed prescription, I ended up receiving something in the mail a week or two after I actually needed it. I added a star, because I think the doctor is really good and it's good business for them to monitor their customer reviews. That being said... Check out my original review and notice the items they didn't respond to or the details that they left out. I highly recommend this place for the doctor. For glasses, contacts, or ESPECIALLY FRAMES, go elsewhere. Oh, and be prepared to be PATRONIZED prior to your appointment. I have been a patient of Doctor Johnson's since I was 5 years old. I've looked forward to going and seeing him for the last 14 years and every time the hostility of the up front workers shocks me. They are always high on themselves and refuse to work with patient even when they make mistakes. I ran out of contacts thanks to the Rifleman location sending me the wrong prescription and they refuse to give me a few samples in order to get through a couple days. I used to work in an eye doctor office and i know that it is absolutely essential that samples are kept around the office and that they are supposed to allows patients to have access to them, especially in emergencies. I love doctor Johnson and would hate going anywhere else but thanks to the horrible office staffs I am consistently disappointed in the service I receive. read more

While we have been happy with the vision therapy services received here, I am so disappointed with the lack of communication and overall concern of patients' experiences. I have reached out numerous times to voice my complaints and concerns and they have never been acknowledged. Eye exams are good. I spent over $1,500 there on a frame and new lenses. ONE MONTH LATER I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEM. I called after 12 days and they said they were on their way. Then a week later they said the lab screwed up and they had to be done over. Called them after 3 1/2 weeks and they just said the same thing, they would check with the lab to see what the problem was. Update: got the glasses after 4.5 weeks. Still not quite right, they're giving me free lenses in a second set of frames I brought in, and will send the first pair back to the lab a second time. read more

Dr Kronberg is fantastic---we were referred to her by our son's physical therapist. Her personality is such a great fit for her patients. She was engaging, enthusiastic, and thorough. She involved our daughter, who had to tag along for the first visit, and explained the tests and process for us in ways that were clear and easy to understand. We have been patients of Dr. Jeffery Johnson for nearly 15 years. This review in no way reflects the wonderful doctor he is. But the way the office is run has changed so dramatically that we can no longer stand to trust them with our eyes, and most especially the eyes of our children. Everything now comes down to how they can get more and more money from us, largely by playing on our desire as parents to provide the best possible solutions for our children's vision needs. We have felt very pushed to purchase add-ons and services not covered by our insurance and have been told by a number of other providers that these things are simply ways to get additional funds from our pockets. Our daughter went through extensive therapy, recommended by Artisan of course, and yet continues to struggle with the same thing that was "cured" as soon as our check for thousands of dollars cleared. No help was offered to show our insurance company why this treatment was necessary beyond being offered an application to Care Credit, a company I suspect Artisan receives kick backs from. The final straw, for me, came when our 8 year old daughter broke the temple piece of her glasses. I went into the office and was told they would simply need to order the part and it could be repaired. When my husband took them in, they blamed their phone staff for not knowing how things worked and informed him we would have to purchase an entirely new set of frames. Let me remind you, I was in the office in person, not on the phone, when I was told the part could be ordered. After calling frame repair places around town, I found that not only can the part be ordered and fixed, but done for free by a company that we did not even order the frames through. I am so disappointed that Artisan has chosen to put their profits above their patients, as years ago this was not the case. read more

The team here got me in a lot more quickly then I had anticipated. They made the appointment registration process simple and easy. I was concerned being a new patient that they would need all my records before seeing me but they made it such a simple task and didn't even have the records. Dr Kromberg was professional and very nice. She explained things to me and didnt seem bothered by my inquisition. And come to find out my old doctor was performing un-necessary tests on me that Dr Kromberg didn't see as needed. So that saved me a ton of money. I am very happy with our experience here. I brought my daughter here for an eye exam since the school had sent me a letter that she did not pass the school eye exam. While we were waiting, the receptionist noticed my 3 year old son, and asked if he had ever had an eye exam. Since he hadn't, she offered to have him seen at the same time, which was nice and very convenient. They were both seen promptly, and everyone there was extremely friendly. They were excellent with the kids. My son is usually very shy, but he loved seeing the doctor and breezed through the exam which was geared to his age. I was impressed. I find it very helpful that they offered to see my son, as it turns out, he has a problem in one eye, and it will probably need correcting as he gets older. I will bring my children back for their yearly exams, and after a horrible experience at another doctor for myself and my husband, I think I will start having my own exams here as well. I am also extremely appreciated that they did not have us waiting for very long in the lobby, and in the chair. My daughter's follow up appointments were just as pleasant, and the doctor was very helpful in answering all of our questions. read more

This review is two-fold, so please bear with me. The eye doctor I saw, Dr. Ryan Johnson is wonderful. He is extremely knowledgeable in dealing with a number of problems(in my case double-vision) and was able to successfully correct the issue--something two other eye doctors could not. I would definitely give him a five-star rating. The actual Optical shop and staff are great as well. The people I have dealt with were wonderful and extremely helpful. That being said, most of their frames and lenses are priced in the upper range, which I don't mind--as long as the quality matches the price. Herein lies my problem. I paid well over $800(AFTER insurance) for a pair of glasses that did not deliver. The frame itself is wonderful, but the lenses started to show strange signs of "pitting" after a few months. At one point, I went in to have the frame adjusted and asked about the lenses. I was told that I should make sure that there was no dirt on my lens cloth when cleaning them. I let it go, thinking that it was my fault. Fast forward a little more than a year. I just went for my annual eye exam, this time at their downtown location. When I pointed out my displeasure with the quality of the lenses, I was told that it appeared to be indeed a defect, but since it was a little over a year since I purchased them, there was nothing they could do. Frankly, I was a little disappointed that there was no attempt made at rectifying the issue. I would have gladly given Artisan another chance had they maybe offered a discount on a new pair of lenses. UPDATE, 08-03-2017: Artisan replaced the defective lenses without any problem. I am very pleased that this issue was remedied so easily and quickly, and I purchased my new glasses from Artisan as well. :-) read more

I'm giving two stars because the optometrist and staff on that side are fine. It's the manager on the frame and lens side that I am unimpressed with. When I first went in there to check in, I had a credit to my account from a previous visit. So $10 per child visit. Fine, great! After the kids get their eyes checked. We need glasses. Blonde woman looks at my insurance. Explains nothing, says I have to pay out of pocket. I start to get upset. Why do I pay for insurance? The manager, short brunette, poorly explains that my insurance only pays for frames every two years. Insinuates that I'm incompetent when it comes to insurances and tells me that I don't have to understand their system. Ok. So I pay for my daughters frames out of pocket. On 9/26/2019. The 30th hits and I get a call stating the frames were not ordered because I did not pay for my daughters eye exam. (Remember the credit??) Frustrated that I already dropped an extra $100 on frames (after credit) to find out they didn't bother to notify me earlier and didn't even order the glasses. I went in there to pay more money and received no apologies for wasting my time. Instead I received excuses. Two weeks pass, the normal amount of time it takes to create glasses, and still no word. I went into the business once again. Same manager, states, "oh! I meant to call you after my lunch. The lenses were flawed." Awesome. Finally a whole month after our original visit, I receive a text. Frames are done. Maybe they're a good business for uppity people with time and money on their side but they are not a business I wish to progress with. read more

The Doctor is GREAT very friendly, professional and overall a great guy!! His staff however a completely different story! WORST customer service I have ever come across they come off sweet, nice, friendly until you request something from them! It's like pulling teeth to just get a copy of your prescription or even invoice showing what you paid them after the appointment or purchasing glasses from there!! Their excuse was "HIPPA" laws forbids them to EMAIL or FAX your information anywhere even it you requested it to be sent to your PERSONAL email where it is password protected and can only be viewed you! They do NOT like you to purchase your glasses else where and they will give you the fun around when it comes to getting your prescription or anything else for that matter! I requested to speak to the doctor and was told " he will not be calling me" she offered me to speak to the manager after I clearly stated I wanted to speak to the doctor himself to inform him of hassle I went through for a piece of paper.....needless to say I let the office gal know she had lost ALL of our business due to this minor issue that in the beginning shouldn't have been so difficult! I love my eye doctor here and will return to Dr. Kronberg. However I am disappointed in the service I received in regards to my glasses. I originally planned to purchase my glasses (a very low prescription for working at the computer) but ended up changing my mind due to the price point, which was $950 - $1,050 for the options we discussed. I asked the optometrist to provide my PD measurement so that I could buy a less expensive option online. He refused. I followed up with the office and they also refused to provide this to me. I understand the desire to keep business in-house, but I was disappointed that they were unwilling to provide this information. I purchased glasses for my son here for around $500 because, for his eye condition, this price point seemed like a worthwhile investment. Because he is so young we will likely be replacing them every 1 to 2 years. Needless to say, I plan to take my business elsewhere when it's time to get his next pair. read more

I Have given this a Star ONLY because of the Doctor, Dr. Johnson is amazing. Staff is Nice but every time I go in it seems they are losing the people that Know what they are doing and getting in complete incompetence. I do believe that the female owner thinks she can convince everyone that she knows what she is talking about when it comes to Glasses but the fact of the matter is she is just snooty. I bought a pair of "Just Released" Face A Face frames this year at a "Trunk Show" and she said it was new. I traveled to see a friend in WA come to find out he had the same pair from several years ago, I then looked on the Company website where I found out it was released 4 years ago, good job on staying up on current looks. I have been a Patient for several years, My fav Optician was Jay, I was quite upset when I found out he left (they told me it was to go to school, they lied he left because of the Owner). I then found another person to work with & it was a Pleasure, but now I find out he is gone for the same reason. So my advise to you is go to see the Doctor then take the Prescription they write to you to someone else. I hear you can get the same frames in Sun Vally for Less. DJ read more

disclaimer** the ACTUAL eye doctor Ryan Johnson is great, super nice guy seems genuinely interested in your life! this is not a review on the doctor himself but on the actual company artisan optics and employees (other than the dr). I Will not be using the names of these employees to protect them from eye glass vigilantes hahaha I get my actual prescriptions at the downtown location, but have been to riflemen to pick up contacts, ect. I went into the riflemen location yesterday Mar 3rd,2017 Requesting my Eye Glasses prescription. The younger heavier set women helping me was adorable and super friendly. She pulled up my file and told me I couldn't be given my prescription because there was an unpaid balance of 50 dollars on my account. I had to go in maybe a month or two ago because I couldn't get a contact out of my eye, well turns out it wasn't even in there! stupid me. This company doesn't do a good job at all telling you what's covered up front, which I can see there are definitely a few reviews below me feeling the same way. I was pretty upset at this point, because that 50 dollars had nothing to do with my actual eye exam, or prescription I had already paid for. I find it quite odd i wasn't given the contacts and eye glass prescription on the receipt from my last eye exam. I think this is a horrible marketing scheme to get you to basically buy stuff through them (I'm sure most places are like that). "NOW IN IDAHO IT IS FEDERALLY AND STATE ILLEGAL TO NOT GIVE MEDICAL RECORDS UPON PATIENT REQUEST EVEN IF THERE IS AN UNPAID BALANCE ON THE ACCOUNT." It's Idaho law that you must give the patient their prescription at the time of service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were trying to say "well you didn't ask" I've never had to ask for a eye prescription I've always been given both from any doctor I have ever been to. I brought this to their attention when i came back into the store to try and get my glasses prescription further. At this Point an older shorter woman was speaking with me, she kept going into the back room to talk to the supposed manager who would for some reason not come out and talk to me. The older front desk women (clearly take's having the power to say no to the max) I thought it was pathetic they had to use her as a liaison to speak to me. As if some front desk women is even knowledgeable of these kinds of things. She was extremely off putting and in front of all the customers she was loud and made sure to state to everyone that the 50 dollars had gone to collections and therefore my account is locked. Not only was that embarrassing it was also extremely rude and unprofessional. She ended up huffing and puffing away and that was that. I called the downtown location to get further information, I was told the Dr. was going to be way too busy to even write my prescription down on a piece of paper because apparently, my prescription can't be printed out because of this 50 dollars I owe them. Mind you I had no idea it went to collection and I'm upset about that as well. I have no problem paying it, I just couldn't that day (3/17/2017) I'm a broke college student. I'm already in the process of referring this to the Idaho Board of Optometry, this is wrong an illegal not to give me my prescription, I must "see" for my health and the safety of others on the road. I'm sick to my stomach on this one. I don't usually do this but I work in the health care industry and Your patients should be number one, companies care way to much about money now a days than the actual benefit of a human being. If you want fashion glasses for occasional wear with no concern for high prices or durability, choose Artisan. I splurged on $600 Bevel glasses. After 8 months they're so fragile that I hardly wear them. The first chip in the matte coating appeared in the second month and more silver shows through by now. Their solution: charge me another $125 to replace a part. I've never before had glasses that didn't perform as new for several years. Two stars for frame style and flamboyant sales staff. No stars for: backing their product once it's sold, hours of operation, speed of filling orders, quality of merchandise. read more

My boyfriend and I both went here last May, and dropped quite a bit of money on glasses (combined $1200+ on glasses alone before insurance). The doctor was absolutely fabulous, laid back, witty, thorough, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating... at the time. We spent a pretty penny, but overall felt great about the experience. Fast Forward to a couple weeks ago, one of my contacts ripped and I come to find out I have no replacement. Glasses are great for days off, but I need contacts for work. I called Artisan Optics and explained what's going on and am told they can't give me a SINGLE replacement contact because all contacts have to be ordered online. I understand that, but I needed one to get me by (though I offered to buy a whole box if that was an option), and I know they have some in stock, I left my original appointment with a new pair. I've been in contacts since I was in 5th grade, and I've never had an eye doctor refuse to give me a single contact in a pinch, this is including when I used to go to ShopKo Optical. No kidding. So I ask if they know of anywhere in town with Acuvue 2s in stock, she tells me she doesn't, to Google it. I asked her what I needed to do to be able to get them elsewhere, she told me to go in to the office selling them and sign a release and they'd fax the prescription over. After calling all over town and finally finding somewhere to fill them, I go across town, fill out my release and wait... and wait... and wait. The receptionist at the office I'm at calls over and they say they're too busy to even check to see that the fax was received. I give up on waiting, drive to Artisan to see a father and daughter about to leave, and no other customers in sight. I explained to the guy there what was going on and was very rudely told that a doctor had to write contact prescriptions, and he was too busy, I'd have to wait until the next day. The doctor was absolutely great, but sadly that doesn't make up for the utter lack of service, especially when I really needed it. I'm happy to spend a little extra money for a quality product, but I expect a certain level of service to come along with that and Artisan Optics fell horribly short. read more

My son had seen Dr. Johnson before and was very impressed with him, so this year we decided to go back. Before the appt we were given the option to see Dr. Jill kronberg, a pediatric specialiast. She was very thorough with the exam and even tested my son's vision in ways that he understood, considering that he's only 7. She tested beyond just the standard for farsighted or nearsightedness, using tools and methods that he had never before used, and she explained everything in detail for him. She was able to answer all of my questions as well as his, and she gave us activities to help strengthen his eyes rather than jumping to glasses, which was great. We absoluty loved how personable and down to earth she was. My son keeps wanting to go see his eye doctor now so he can "play more games." read more

I am a RELUCTANT glasses-wearer. I know I'm fortunate enough not to NEED them the moment I hop out of bed, so it's ungenerous of me to complain, but transitioning in my early 40's to HAVING to wear them, and then: HORRORS: to needing BIFOCALS? Well - it wasn't easy. But the staff at both Artisan Optics offices were FABULOUS. Both Downtown and Rifleman allowed me to try EVERYTHING on, and then Dr. Huber was patient, kind, and very thorough in his explanations. I only own one other pair of glasses, so I'm no expert, but Artisan's prices DO appear somewhat higher than other places? BUT: I shopped around this year - I checked out the inventory of a few places that take my insurance, and Artisan had a LOT more selection that I loved to choose from. Here's hoping I enjoy my glasses as much as I enjoyed the process to find them! read more

Awful company. They charged me for options on my glasses which I couldn't see out of them. They took money up front with no refund. I made 4 trips back to them for corrections and they couldn't even get a prescription figured out for me. I took in 2 pair of old glasses (one a little too strong and second a little too weak.). They went in the middle to get me a prescription with out an exam. I AM NOT EVEN REQUIRED TO WEAR GLASSES TO DRIVE.I don't have a difficult eye issue and have never had this kind of an issue ever and I am 69 years old. This was my first and LAST visit to them. I reported the issue to my insurance company with no results from Artisan and turned them into Better Business Bureau and they have had no response. Next my Attorney General's office to register a complaint. I am not the only one they have screwed over. Others have told me similar stories. If you're thinking about lasik you need to go to Artisan Optics. They made me feel comfortable from the first visit on, explained everything and answered all of my questions. And all of your visits including surgery are at the same location. Super convenient. Plus with my insurance I saved so much money. Artisan Optics is so great. I started going here because my daughter was having vision problems and two teachers and her pediatrician recommended we go for their vision therapy program. The vision therapy at Artisan Optics is a one on one appointment with my daughter and their therapist. She goes twice a week for half an hour and she is improving so much. She no longer gets frustrated while reading but instead is now asking me when she can show me how well she can read now because she can now focus on the words and they are clear and not moving around anymore. The first time she actually asked me if she could read with me I started to well up because I was so happy that my daughter was actually having fun learning for once because she was no longer frustrated. I owe her success to Artisan Optics and will never forget what they have done. read more

Best experience ever! Everyone here is amazing. They are all super friendly and know what they're doing. Something I can't say for the other places I've gone to in the past. When I called to schedule my appointment they even helped me figure out what my new vision insurance was. I had no idea so I really appreciated the help. Dr Johnson is super thorough, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. When it came time to pick out glasses they helped me find a style that really works for me and they made it fun. And the best part is I LOVE my glasses and I didn't pay any more than I did last time at my old eye doctor's office. If you like great service check this place out. read more

My entire family has been going to Artisan Optics since we moved to Boise in 2010. What a different experience from the place we went to before we moved here. Artisan Optics is the best! I'm really surprised that all of their reviews aren't 5 star. The doctors are all incredible. Between all of our family members we've seen all 3 doctors. They take the time to really talk with you, not at you and their staff are the nicest people ever! They really know what they're doing. If you're looking for an eye doctor or a place to get a new pair of glasses you should definitely give Artisan Optics a try. Nice people, excellent customer service, and wonderful glasses that last a really long time. Forgot to mention they are great with kids. read more

Dr. Jill Kronberg was wonderful to work with. After many years of trying to get my prescription right with other physicians, Dr. Kronberg listened to the problems I was having and now I have glasses that allow me to drive at night. I wish I would have been to her office sooner. I was also very happy with the frame selection available to me. I now have very beautiful frames as well. read more

HUGE RED FLAG. One star is for beautiful office. This place is EXPENSIVE ($225 for an eye/contact exam) even then, produced no contact prescription. I chose this location as close to home. My previous doctor had moved. I have been a contact user for 40 years. Dr. Johnson conducted initial exam, added dilating drops, then ushered me to reception area. During this 30 minutes! he did another exam on someone else and his staff did a HARD SELL on me for frames. I finally had to ask them to stop. After returning to exam room for another look, I was told that his concerns (a possible cataract or a macular) would require the use of additional medical equipment. This equipment is housed at another location - another appt; more time, more money, no way. I was already put-off by his staff's sell tactics and became very suspicious overall. I went back to my opthamologist. (BTW, I asked his office to send Dr. Johnson's findings to my doctor. I gave them info, they said they would, they did not). My opthamologist's findings: No cataract, no hint of a macular and my vision was corrected to better than 20/20. $125 for exam and 60 days of contacts. I would STRONGLY suggest that you SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR! read more
