Good service. Convenient. Quality care. Dr. Answered all our questions. Frame selection lacking like all office based frame shops.

Seriously, I came to write a review on this place, and figured there would already be a ton of…read moreshining reviews! How can I possibly be the first!? Oh yeah, we're talking about Boise here - get up with the YELP, Boise! Well, if you need any eye care at all, this is absolutely the place to come. I was a patient of Dr. Cleverly for years, and he was always so thorough and professional. I was always confident in the accuracy of my prescription and the care I received. I'm super squirmy about my eyes, and he's always patient. Since moving out of state, I have looked far and wide for an optomotrist that could stack up. Comparing these other guys to BVC has made me realize what a gem this place really is. The gals that help out with frame fitting and ordering are amazing, its always clean there vs. some of the places I've been with a bunch of old dusty frames on the wall - and the selection is up to date and amazing! I have NEVER walked away feeling uneasy about the frame I'm selecting - you know, wondering if something way better is to be found elsewhere? Nope. Super happy, and I always get compliments on my glasses. Even since moving away, I have come back to BVC when visiting family in Boise to order my annual glasess covered on insurance. I always get the most friendly and warm service, and always find what I'm looking for. I don't know everyone's names, but I will say that just today, Vicki took 15 minutes over the phone to help me get a pair of sunglasses that I'm hoping to pick up when I come to visit soon. Who even does that anymore? This was after calling at least 8 eye places in my vicinity, none of which carried the brand I need, and if they did were not willing to order the exact frame I want without removing my insurance frame allowance benefit from the sale. WHAT? I pay so much for insurance so that I can get the glasses I want and need, and Boise Vision Care goes above and beyond to help keep customers happy and coming back.

One of the most frustrating experiences I've had with any healthcare provider. I went in needing…read moreprescription safety glasses for work--something that's not optional, but absolutely essential for me to do my job safely--and the whole process has been a mess from start to finish. There's been a serious lack of urgency, poor communication, and multiple delays with no clear answers. When something is this critical, you expect a higher level of professionalism and attention to detail. Instead, I've been left waiting, following up constantly, and still don't have what I need to safely do my job. What's disappointing is that this could easily be a five-star experience with some basic improvements. Following through on client requests, setting clear expectations on timelines, communicating proactively about delays, and treating urgent needs with the priority they deserve would make a huge difference. Patients shouldn't have to chase down updates or feel like their situation isn't being taken seriously. I was told my glasses would be ready in two weeks and we're rolling on five weeks now with no other answer other than the lab messed up. There's definitely potential here, but until that level of accountability and communication is in place, I can't recommend this office--especially if your needs are time-sensitive or critical for your work. They actually had the audacity to explain to my wife when she questioned where my glasses were, that I added a bunch of additional services to my glasses. Let's get one thing very clearly understood, all of the services that I had added, were recommendations! It's not like I walked off the street and demanded these things be done. They are actually services offered by this facility. I have zero issues reversing this review and turning it to a five star review if they could just follow through with what "they sold me"!!! It honestly just feels like my situation isn't being taken seriously, which is honestly unacceptable given what's at stake. If you need something important handled quickly and correctly, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

On January 23, 2025, I visited Tree City Eyecare in Boise, Idaho, for an eye exam with Dr. Jeremy…read moreBall. Since I do not have vision insurance, I paid for the visit out of pocket. During the exam, Dr. Ball informed me that my prescription had changed, with my left eye's measurement shifting from -2.50 to -7.50. He also did not compare my old prescription to my new one so I could compare the 2. After returning home to Tennessee, I took my prescription to Sam's Club in Bristol, Virginia, to have my glasses filled. I ordered a regular pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses, totaling nearly $600, and let's not forget about the 1.5-hour drive each way from my home. When I picked up my glasses, I tried them on as usual. While I could see well for reading, my distance vision felt hazy, as if I were looking through a cloud. The staff suggested I wear my old glasses for the night and give my eyes a chance to adjust. I followed this advice, but the next morning, I still experienced cloudiness with the new glasses. After wearing them all day in an attempt to acclimate, I covered each lens to check for clarity. I found that my left eye was significantly blurry, indicating that the issue was with my new prescription glasses. Consequently, I scheduled another eye exam in my local area, which I also had to pay for out of pocket. The new doctor conducted a thorough examination and concluded that my prescription had not changed at all. This meant I would need to make another three-hour round trip back to Bristol, Virginia, to have a correct prescription filled. Additionally, I realized I would not have needed to order new sunglasses, as I already owned two pairs that were suitable based on my existing prescription. On the other hand, I do require new regular glasses, as my current pair is scratched and approximately five or six years old. After my recent eye exam, I contacted Kelly, the manager at Tree City Eyecare, to explain the situation regarding my prescription. She informed me that she couldn't assist me immediately but promised to consult with the owner, Dr. Jaimen Dixson, and get back to me the following day. When Kelly called the next day, she relayed that the owner would not take any action. I expressed that I was not seeking a full refund; I only requested reimbursement for my second eye exam. I explained that I had incurred over $800 in costs when it should have only been around $430, not to mention the inconvenience and travel expenses involved. Kelly suggested I return to Idaho for a re-examination, but I declined. I offered to show her my receipt and the new prescription as proof that I had been misdiagnosed and that it was unreasonable for them not to cover my new eye exam. I emphasized that this situation reflects poorly on their business practices, as I am a business owner myself.

I discovered this place during a summer neighborhood party. The moment I walked in I knew I needed to move eye doctors. I asked a million questions to Deanna about the new business, what insurance they accept, and also if I could have a chocolate. Just like at home! I also now call and Deanna knows exactly who she is chatting with and thankfully she always gets me in for an appointment. I think the thing I like the best about Barber Town is obviously the small town eye doctor feel but I also love that they are everyday people. I feel like I have known both for ages, like I have grownup visiting for my eye check every year. The place is clean, hip, and welcoming. I never wait long, or at all. During busy Bown Crossing times, I can see parking being difficult but I go around 4:00 pm and it hasn't been a problem. I would like to compare this college for some reason. This isn't a college where you are a number, this is a college with small class sizes where the instructor knows your name and your stories. It is the best! Now go get your eyeballs checked already!!
