I have been Tremendously impressed with the folks at Vision One. I recently started seeing Dr. Fronk after getting frustrated with how many doctors came and went from the office I was going to previously and after having a very difficult time getting my new lens order properly filled for my glasses there. Dr. Fronk came highly recommended and provided a thorough exam and was a very personable professional. I continued to be impressed as I moved on to picking out new glasses frames. The selection was great and the staff was very helpful, James in particular. I've now worked with James to pick out both glasses and sunglasses and he has been so tremendously helpful in helping me identify the glasses that fit me best. I have been going to Vision One in Boise for many many years. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Fronk. He's very personable, professional & caring doctor. My only beef is some of the staff is absolutely horrible- especially Courtesy. I called in today to see if they still polish hard contacts. Back in the day that's what they called it. Courtney very rudely informed me that they don't polish. I asked a few more questions and I accidentally said "polished" and Courtney again in her rude and put out attitude informed me "I told you already WE don't polish"! OK rude Courtney - sorry I misspoke. Damn if you are going to be that rude on the phone and talk to customers like this QUIT your job or get an attitude adjustment. I absolutely recommend Vision One - the doctors rock. Just be careful you don't get Courtney on the phone. read more

I was a patient for 15+ years until today. I always enjoyed the experience, until the very end of the visit when they would casually tac on a "contact consultation" to my bill. I am double insured - but "eye exam" coverage and "contact consultation" coverage are not the same thing. They I've now paid over $500 for a consultation that have never been a consultation. I know it is a money grab - today I informed them that if they did not stop putting that fee on the bill I would not longer be a customer. Well, I am no longer a customer. Shows what 15+ years of loyalty gets you. 0/5 would be my vote. That said, all the receptionist have always been nice. read more

I am on vacation in Boise. The nose pad on my glasses fell off. First went to Ada Vision Center and was told I needed an appointment. To put a nose pad on? The next appt would be Wed. This is Friday. We're on vacation and won't be here then. Ada receptionist suggested Walmart. Then we happened to drive by Vision One and thought we try our luck. They were fantastic. No problem. An optician put 2 new nose pads on in a matter of about 2 min. When I asked how much I owed her, the answer was "no charge." This was great service. If I lived here, I would definitely use Vision One. read more

I was in town for a trial and ripped my last contact lenses. The front desk office receptionist answered immediately at 7:30a and was very kind. I emailed her my prescription and she was able to set me up with a set of contacts within 15 minutes so I could get back to work and trial. Haven't experienced appointments or eye exams, but their customer service and adaptability saved me a headache (literally because I couldn't see). read more

Doctor offered to reschedule Next available appointment more than 18 days from now (gee thanks!) They could use a bit of help with customer service. I took my 6 year old to get his eye checked after a scary and traumatic incident the day before and we needed to make sure no damage had been done to the eye. I made the appointment with first available doctor. Dr Bodily. He was so rude and downright cruel to my child. Dr. Bodily came in noticeably irritated and was short with us, he didn't explain to my son what he was doing or why, and then wanted to put yellow dye in his eye. A paper strip has to be put on the eye and that freaked my son out. He was not screaming, just saying no i don't want to and had a few tears. Dr Bodily proceeded to mock him about being a crybaby and that he was gonna get an award for being the biggest crybaby and how he is being dramatic about nothing. He continued mocking him the entire visit. This is not how you should treat anyone, especially a small scared kid. I would have left immediately except we needed to know if his eye was okay. I unfortunately have been bringing my older kids here for many years and don't go in the back with them. We will no longer use Vision One for any of our needs for our family of five, tree of which wear glasses and contacts. Shame on you Dr Bodily read more

I found the office staff to be friendly and helpful. I did however feel like the woman who did all my eye tests appeared to be in a hurry. She was walking around so fast, and acted like she was trying to get me through asap. During my review with the eye doctor I heard her tell other co workers good bye. So I think my suspicions were correct. Other frustrating thing was I came in to see why I was suddenly having blindness in one eye. The doctor seemed flabbergasted and told me to come back in a week for a full eye exam and that it would probably get better. It didn't. Second exam went better. Different woman did my tests. She was very thorough and spent lots of time trying to rule out reasons for my eye issue. Different eye doctor this time too, who was also very thorough. When he couldn't figure out my diagnosis, he was quick to refer me to an ophthalmologist. Which I appreciated much more than just telling me my eye looks healthy and I'm sure it will get better. read more

I love Vision One BOISE! The doctor I see, Dr. Bodily and the eyeglass technicians are wonderful as well. There is a large selection of frames and contact lens care is top of the line as well. Walked in and was happily greeted by friendly receptionists as soon as I reached the desk. They got me settled with my paperwork and I walked over to a big waiting area. Everything is nice, clean, orderly. Finished my paperwork and was pretty promptly taken back for my preliminary examination. Had to wait an extensive time for the doctor, but his first patient was late. He made no excuses. Just apologized and did their $29 eye picture thing for free. (This checks the health of your eye instantly without dilation.) Really appreciated that. Let me look at glasses. Spent time going through how much it would cost after my insurance and didn't pressure me to buy on spot. (Which I didn't because I always want to make sure I'm getting glasses that are absolutely the best out there for my face.) Loved my experience! No hesitations at all! read more

The office is pleasant and quiet. I didn't wait long before a staff member began the imaging process to check for any changes in eye health (I forget what it's called, but it's a high-tech alternative to the dilation technique. Dilation is available if you want to avoid paying for the imaging option.). They also did a peripheral vision check - the video game-like "watch for the dots and click this button" test. Dr. Fronk has been my optometrist for about 14 years and is always very friendly and easy to talk to. He answers my questions and is generally nice to work with. If you need a new prescription, they have lots of frames to choose from and contact lens specialists (I've never dealt with them). The glasses fitting process was easy and the lady who fitted me was very helpful, even offering suggestions for which frames would look best on me. read more

I spent $345 out of pocket for progressive lenses that didn't work with my sight. I couldn't see my phone, couldn't work on my computer, and at distance, signs and words were doubled or often blurry. Went back and spent an hour doing adjustments and rechecked my vision. "Don't worry about the two week trial period. We'll get these figured out for you" they said. After three weeks I requested that I go back toy single vision lens. "OK" they said. I expected a refund on the original purchase. Vision One said "no". No disclosure or discussion prior to ordering the progressive lens about their return policy. Just them trying to get you purchase new frames, anti-glare coating, scratch resistance, and other fluff. I've been going here for years, and at every appointment, I say it's my last. The front desk staff, that always seems to be different, never seems to be very nice. The gal who does the initial exams is warm and personable, but she is the only one. Today, I walked out after waiting 20 minutes. I have been using Vision One for several years and have been very happy with them. Dr. Fronk has a great "bed-side manner" and always makes me comfortable. The frame selection is nice although they are a little on the expensive side. The people in the lab are always helpful and knowledgeable with adjustments, and didn't mind at all when I had new lenses put in my older frames or when I bought frames elsewhere. I have not experienced anyone in the office be less than nice, and the two women that have helped me pick frames and buy glasses were especially great. I would not recommend going to Vision One to ANYONE!!! The front desk ladies are very nice. The lady who takes you back has no personality whatsoever and its a rush,rush process. When the Dr came in, he talked so fast i couldn't understand half of what he said. I felt like I was just another number to them and that i did not matter at all. When picking a frame,the old lady who helped me was absolutely rude!!! I picked a couple frames i liked but all she could tell me was that they were to expensive. I told her that money wasnt an issue. He reply was, well it should be, these are shipped from Italy. (I believe that was where.) I mentioned to her again that it wasnt an issue. I told her that the pair I had already picked and paid for were more expensive than what she called expensive. She then replied, oh. Who in the hell does she think she is telling me what i can and can not afford?!?!?!?!?!? Shame on you old lady!! I called and spoke with her manager. I honestly dont think he gave a rats ass. There was no concern in his voice. He didnt even ask my name. I guess after all Is said and done, I feel sorry for her,she really should be retired but works at Vision One. I will be spreading the word about the awful service you provide. read more

I visited this clinic on a recommendation and they were right. I have seen both doctors who work here and both of them are top notch. The front desk person is very friendly. And the two assistants couldn't have possibly been more kind. I was a little hesitant at the youth of one doctor, but she quickly proved her education and ability to me by correcting a bad prescription previously received from a different clinic. I was a patient here for about 5 years. I never quite loved the demeanor of the office staff... but it wasn't a deal breaker. Last month I had an experience so terrible I am no longer a patient -- I am writing a review to warn others they may be better served going elsewhere. I had an appointment for 8:00am. I have two children ages 18 mo. and 3 1/2 years. Daycare dropoff that day took longer than expected (as any working mom can attest happens) and I called them at EXACTLY 8:00 when I was only 7 minutes away from their office as a courtesy to let them know I was running late. I'm pretty sure most people would not have even bothered to do so it was so minimal. The lady who answered the phone (Debbie?) proceeded to tell me I had a 7:45 appointment. I argued with her for a while about how it would be impossible that I had made that early an appointment. I explained that I had just dropped off my children at daycare and that I had taken vacation that morning to come to the appointment. She told me I could no longer come in because I was over 15 minutes late already. After some time she realized her mistake after double checking my appointment in the computer and that I in fact did have an 8:00am appointment. At this point, it was 8:10 already and she said I would not make it by 8:15 so they could not guarantee my appointment anymore. I would have been there already had she not made the mistake about the appointment time. She told me if I came in on standby that morning that I might have to wait for a while but that they MIGHT be able to work me in. I told her that was unacceptable based on the fact that me missing my appointment entirely (as opposed to being minimally late) was based on her mistake -- not mine. I told her I was not going to reschedule and that I would no longer be a patient there. This was a month ago. There has been NO effort to reach out to me and apologize about the mistake by anyone else in the office. read more

Hands down, the BEST eyecare in the Treasure Valley!!! They have always gotten us in with our "eye emergencies" right away. The staff is super friendly. I was greeted immediately, and seen quickly.
