Got some glasses here a while back. My frame broke and the lens fell out the other day. Went in to ask if there was a warranty or if they could help. Young lady didn't hassle me about purchase time period or anything. Just said it needed a new screw and if I would take a seat it could be fixed in a few minutes. Great service, no charge for the fix, and I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. I originally came to this location after the VA couldn't get my prescription correct three times! Terry is the worst representative I have ever tried to do business with. First of all this optometrist office has Crazy outrageously expensive prices and is Unwilling to match competitor prices. After having an eye exam and then liking some Oakley Frames, and being quoted over $250 in store for the frames at Pearle Vision in Boise, I looked online and through EZ Contacts found the same item for $122.78. (Less than half price). I was told from the manager that I was welcome to purchase the frames elsewhere and they would still make and install lenses for me. When my frames arrived I went in (today) and was now informed that I would have to pay an extra $25 fee for using my Frames. She tried to explain it as an extra time cost for using my frames because they had to take extra time being careful... B.S. I already had to sign a release of liability in case they break them). I feel taken advantage of, being over charged for no reason that justifies the charge and plan to file a complaint. I already signed a release of liability, the company already utilizes these frames (so why the upcharge)? Why the 100 percent markup on frames? MONEY MONEY MONEY ! this is not a company that cares about its customers it only cares about generating excessive profits. I will not come back to this company again. After leaving this as a google Review, Terry the office manager threatened to cancel my lenses, and refund my insurance because of the negative review. This is not a place I would recommend and I plan to contact the state board to report the dishonesty and lack of transparency as well as the outrageous insurance gouging. read more

Dr. Bingham has always been nice and takes time to explain everything to you and let you ask questions. Due to a change in my insurance I tried a different eye place and it was awful! So I went back and saw Dr Bingham and everyone who helped me was great. The lady that helped me with my glasses helped me to find the perfect pair. Been going to them for 3 1/2 years. Used to see an ophthalmologist but my employer started cutting back on insurance like everybody else does. Dr. Bingham is as nice and professional as everyone says he is. On the occasions when he's on vacation and there are substitutes, they are also high-quality. The areas they excel in over cheaper places like Costco are the quality and ease of repairs and willingness to recycle. Got a favorite pair of frames you want to fit for new lenses? They will do that if at all possible. Got a lens out and a critical spacer is missing? They will fix it right, better than most. Costco will send you to a jewelry repair shop instead. There is a lot of turnover it appears. Every time I show up there's a completely different cast of characters out front. So if there's a bad review from a while back, most person likely the person that deserved it is no longer there. I've never had an unusually bad experience. Don't expect them to be your best buddies and you'll likely be fine. read more

I can only base this review off of my limited interaction with the associates here. On one of the snowiest nights of the year thus far, one of my nose pads decided to jump ship. It's not easy driving around in low visibility with one part of your glasses gouging out the side of your nose. Rather than live in discomfort all the way home, I searched for who was close by (and open around 6:30pm) using Yelp and found this location. Because of the snow, I was the only person in the store. Not only did they replace one nose pad, but they replaced both because I suppose they could tell the other one was ready to fall off too. Fast, excellent, thorough, friendly service with a smile. The nose pad replacements were free, as in many vision centers, but I felt like it was necessary to pay it forward with this review! If I lived in the area and was in the market for an optometrist, I would definitely give Pearle Vision a try! read more

Everyone in the building was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The doctor was very clear and easy to communicate with. I even had a wonderful time picking our frames with the staff, too. I feel very well taken care of and I'm very impressed with how easy everyone was to work with. This was my first visit to Pearle Vision. It was such a great experience from the minute I walked in. The staff was so helpful. I felt Dr. Bingham really addressed my concerns and listened to me. He explained everything. I did get a new pair of eyeglasses and the gentleman who assisted me went above and beyond. I was so indecisive and he was so patient and offered many suggestions and even looked to see if frames I liked came in different colors. I was looking for a place that had a wide selection of different styles of frames. A search on Yelp led me to Pearle Vision and I am glad it did. I was able to find a pair I really liked and the laid back staff let me take my time looking through the selection. When I found what I wanted, the man that completed my transaction was very familiar with VSP and was able to have my total owed figured out in less than a couple of minutes. I had a very good experience with Dr. Bingham. He took the time to listen and to address all my concerns. Because of Dr. Bingham, I will go back and refer my family. The gentleman that helped me pick out frames was also very friendly and knowledgeable. However, the receptionist had horrible customer service. I nearly cancelled my appointment when I had to reschedule and felt like I was a huge inconvenience. And though she was friendly enough with me at my appointment, I witnessed her completely belittle another customer for being late, in a way that I would NEVER be a customer there had she talked to me that way. So, Dr. Bingham is wonderful!! however I would really look at who you have representing you at the front counter. My guess is you are losing clientele due to her attitude. I walked into Pearle Vision based on the yelp reviews it had but I was wrong for stopping here. I should have known by the first interaction I had over the phone with the office receptionist. Normally when you are calling any new dr office they ask for your insurance information in order for them to have everything in order when you walk in. Well, this was not the case here. The receptionist asked for all of my information and they had nothing ready when I walked in. In fact she made the call in the middle of the shop where everyone walking around the store can hear my personal information. (DOB, full name, address, phone number) this was the most unprofessional place I have ever walked into. This is such a HIPPA violation. read more

My wife and I shopped three other optical shops this week to look at each eyeglass frames. I had never been to Pearle Vision before, so we checked it out. We were welcomed immediately as we entered by a gentleman who provided us excellent advice as we browsed types of frames. I found several frames that I liked and then proceeded to arrange an appointment with Dr. Bingham. He too was very professional and made a couple of recommendations to preserve my eye health. Will not come back based on the rotten experience. I booked an appointment for 1:30, arrived at 1:20 as asked, and sat for half an hour without seeing the doctor. At 1:50 I politely asked how much longer it would be (I was on my hour-long lunch break) and was told that he was with another patient, and that they had no way of knowing how much longer I'd be waiting. I was told I could continue to wait or I could reschedule. I think it's incredibly unprofessional to not honor appointment times, and even more unprofessional to be unwilling to find out how much longer it might be. I also find it inconsiderate that the staff watched me sit there for half an hour and offered no explanation. If I'd been a walk-in, I wouldn't be writing this. But I'll be taking my business where it's appreciated from now on. read more

Go here! I called for an appointment to get a contact fitting and prescription at about 11 they got me in at 1 the same day. Wore my contacts for a day noticed they were off. I called and they got me in again the same day and corected my prescription. The whole time they were very courteous and I got my contacts within less than a week. Just moved to Boise needed a new pair of glasses. They were extremely welcoming polite and professional my eye exam was done quickly with minimal waiting. The secretary there actually picked the frames I ended up purchasing. Which were not the most expensive pair and were gorgeous. She pulled no punches which I appreciate and I felt like she was honest and knowledgeable with what frames fit what face. Within two hours of my appointment I was able to then pick up my pair of finished eye glasses. So pleased with my appointment and glasses. Amazing service. Definitely would go back. read more

Overall the experience was great. Nice doctor, answered all my questions, made sure my contacts fit perfect. Couldn't be more pleased with him. But, the reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because of this. I called to find out how much a "contact lens eye exam" is. I was told $50 for standard contacts and $60 for toric. When I got their, I over heard the front desk receptionist tell the technician that I was to be charged $175.00. When I politely questioned it. The front desk girl started getting very upset with me and arguing with me that the $60.00 is for just the fitting not the exam. One thing she told me is that "The price and the way we do things have been the same for 20 years!" (First time ever going there, how would I know). Even though when I called, I was told this included the exam. Needless to say I stayed and got my contacts but that lady does not know how to talk to people, very defensive. For that I knocked a star off. The Doctor did a wonderful job, turned my whole experience around and I would highly recommend him. read more

I've never experienced this level of ineptitude. The glasses I purchased for far more than I would have spent at America's Best, or online, don't fit me and they hurt. Instead of having properly trained employees with calculated methods of making sure they can adjust the fit properly, these buffoons use a guess-and-check method of adjustment. They don't know what they're doing.Two separate trips to get them adjusted and I'm still hurting. Never go here! read more
