This was the WORST manicure I've ever gotten in my entire life. I asked for a BASIC acrylic set... and I got garbage. She put the tips on sideways and when I asked her to straighten them she RIPPED THEM OFF. DO NOT waste your time or your money here. My nails are horribly painted and the acrylic slipped right off. THEY BEND. If I could rate a -10/5 stars I would. BUT THAT FEELS LIKE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Seriously the worst ever. The womb doing my nails was shaking and filed each nail completely to the side. First of all the LADY took 20 mins to come back and start doing my friends and l's pedicures when there was only one other customer in the salon. Then we see her drinking out of a wine bottle in the back room after leaving us once again while we "soak" our toes in freezing cold water. She then came back and was most definitely drunk and had bloodshot eyes and it took her and this guy 3 hours to do are toes which got gel painted which costs extra only to have it come off in 24 HOURS. Worst salon ever!!!!! I wish i could give a zero! I seriously don't know how this place was ever voted #1 in West Des Moines. Was not at all given what I asked for. I have never seen such a sloppy job ever! When I commented on it not being what I wanted I was told "They're not done and They'll be fine." I have been getting my nails dipped for 3+ years, I have the ability to know when something is not right. Secondly, this lady cut/burned me MULTIPLE TIMES!!! When I asked her to slow down and be careful she told me it was because I didn't have my dip on when I came in......andddd then continued to cut/burn me. Each of my fingers were bleeding by the time she finished! Lastly, this place is so overpriced!! I was told $40 for dip but was charged $60 for their worthless attempt at ombré!! HORRIBLE PEDICURE!!!! STAY AWAY! I was rushed, my heals were not even touched (still have rough skin) and she had the nerve to give me a horrible, fast massage after the nails were painted on half of my feet, ONLY because I reminded her. I paid for the deluxe, which supposedly includes a massage. Besides it all, two women were in there wearing NO MASKS in a closed, small and hot environment. BY FAR THE WORST PEDICURE MY HUSBAND AND I EVER HAD!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. My husband decided to go and get a real pedicure the very next day. I had dip removed one week before I was going to get my nails done and then ended up going back to Mercedies Nails because I was told they wouldn't put the dip on too thick. I went back the next weekend and I asked for tips and dip, If was the worst experience ever, I asked for short nails and they were casual way to long for my liking and I had asked for them to be shorter and was told no, the color, there were spots missing of the color, it wasn't smooth at all and just looked awful. Worst nail salon EVER!!! Stay far away. Seriously. The lady removing my dip polish used an electric file/drill, didn't pay attention and filed away my natural nail bed to within .05 mm of the skin beneath! If I had not felt the heat from the drill and demanded that she stop IMMEDIATELY, I would have ended up with a bleeding hole in my nail. The owner's casual reaction let me know she does not care about clients or have high standards for her techs. Still have a bright red pit in my nail bed to this day. I will NEVER go back! read more

Came for a dip manicure and was not happy with my results. The technician attempted to use an unsterilized cuticle cutter, the hand washing station had quite a few cords/outlets laying around, not a very long hand massage, and when leaving my cuticles are visible and not cut off. I went in today and got my nails done by Lisa. When I came in I said I wanted dip. She then cut my real/natural nails down to the nub. I then said I did not want my nails cut at all. She continued to cut all my real nails off. She then pulled off the dip I had on my nails. She did not use any tools to remove the original dip I had. She pulled them off. This hurt my natural nails horribly. I could pull my dip off at home, I do not go and pay for nails to get them pulled off and then have my natural nail chopped off. I have been a customer here for two years. This was a horrible experience. I will not be back. read more

Very disappointed in the operations of Mercedes Nails. Even with an appointment booked, you are pushed out of your spot to a different place so they can start on a new client. Then, the tech came to put matte on my acrylics after drying, and dismissed me after one coat. No hand massage or lotion. For roughly a $100 visit that included a pedicure, I expected to get what I paid for. The hand nail operation makes me feel like they don't even care except to get quantity and not quality. Oh yeah, and my nails like shiney as shit now since there was only one matte coat. That was just my last visit. Prior to that, the tech didn't trim my acrylics and messed up my nail color so bad that the black paint chipped off (I'm not a picker). Oh yeah, and six nails broke off!!! Definitely overpriced (~$42 without a tip) just for a fill. I would be happy to sit down with Mercedes to share my disappointment and feedback to make change to help the business thrive. read more

Majority of the women do great nails, but the man in there is sloppy & does not do a great job. Also, don't schedule an appointment because you will end up waiting 30-45 minutes past your scheduled appointment. I have gone 4 times & 3 of the 4 they have ran 45 minutes past my appointment & for that reason I don't recommend it. read more

Had pedicure with a bridal party. Love my toenails. Not liking my heels of my feet. Paid for the $40 pedicure and they didn't scrape my heels with grater of any sort, just a pumice stone.
