PureLux Nails & Spa is a hidden gem nestled between cobblestone pillars at the Countryside Village Business Center in West Des Moines. I visited on a Wednesday for a scheduled pedicure appointment with a friend and impressed by the warm welcome and vast polish selection. The salon boasts hundreds of polish colors, neatly organized on the east wall in a gorgeous rainbow array, featuring top brands like DND, OPI and Essie. You're sure to find the perfect shade and shimmer for your fingers or toes! The salon's ambiance is clean, cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing pampering session with friends and features 6 pedicure chairs and 6 nail stations. There are three pedicure options to choose from of which I opted for the "Deluxe Pedicure", priced at $47, though the "Volcano Spa" option was very tempting with the 7 scent varieties available. Holly and Van were our nail technicians; there are 4 total technicians at this salon. My pedicure from Van was impeccable; the best part was the mask with hot towel followed by the warm stone massage. I know I will feel relaxed for days! read more

They have such a great and welcoming atmosphere and know their stuff when it comes to nails! Even when I'm not entirely sure what this round of nails or colors I want, I can honestly just ask them what they think will look awesome, and BAM, I'M BLOWN AWAY! LOVE THIS PLACE FOR LIFE! One word. Precise. I was so impressed with the attention to detail and the work to make my nails look flawless. I needed my acrylic nails cut back and cleaned up. I picked a neutral color. No big deal, right? She meticulously took off all the colored dip (salmon color) that were on my nails and did them without complaint. She mentioned that if I need to do this again to pick a color so she doesn't have to do that again. I felt so badly. But my nails are exactly what I wanted. read more

I have been coming to Purelux Nails for a couple of years. Fifi is my nail tech. I followed her here when her previous salon was sold. Each staff person here seems very good. The atmosphere is friendly and clean. I have never left dissatisfied. read more

Checked out this new-to-me salon yesterday. The place was clean, friendly staff, and great massage chairs. I got the Volcano Spa pedicure!

Great pedicure! I made a last minute online appointment for 5:45 on a Thursday and I walked in around 5 to wait until my scheduled time, just on the off chance I could get in early. They gladly took me right when I walked in, and I was out before 6! It was a great pedicure and didn't feel rushed, in the slightest. The nice woman who did my pedicure (I didn't catch her name) did an amazing job and was so kind. My feet turned out beautiful and it was very reasonably priced compared to so many other salons in the West Des Moines area with steep prices yet subpar service. I will definitely be back! read more

1st visit and my husband and I were super impressed. I loved my pedicure service. Staff were amazing in accommodating hubby's needs. I felt I was a valued and respected client. They even walked hubby to the car with an umbrella as it was pouring rain. Thank you to the great staff. read more

Des Moines is flushed with mediocre to great Nail Salons. One gem hidden in Countryside Village Shopping is PureLux Nails off E P True Parkway in WDM, Iowa. Upon entering you are greeted with a friendly hello. Since COVID-19 there are signs everywhere to wear your mask, wash your hands, etc. The ventilation is okay, nothing unusual. Spacing of individuals is good. My usual is a pedicure and nails. My nails are long which need extra time. Andrew is my nail tech. He does an outstanding job with attention to detail for my shellac on the toes with a basic pedicure and a dip French Tip on my nails. Andrew is one of the best. Seek him out and see for yourself the stupendous job on all aspects, from the color selection, brushing, massage and the extensive techniques to make sure you get your monies worth. If you in the area come and try their products--your nails and toes will sparkle with delight. read more

Covid precautions are taken at this nail salon. It was very clean, the staff was friendly and the young man, Lee did an excellent job on my nails! I had a gel/shellac manicure. He was a perfectionist holding my nails up to the lamp to make sure they were even and was very pleasant! I'll be back! read more

Horrible place not only did she not listen to me I wanted acrylics and longer she did dip with no tips. I had to stop her before she painted my tips a different color because my nails were all uneven. She said I still put on nail color and I said nope you are done. She was rude and never spoke to me. Little did she know I could understand what she was saying so I walked out. My sister was paying that day and she did not get charged thankfully because not one of my nails are the same length or shape plus the dip is to thick. Stay away if you like a nice nail tech that will pay attention to you. My sisters nails were better but still not good. She drove 2 hrs for a girls day to be treated horrible and have them talk rude about you when they didn't know you could understand. My husband is Asian so I understand but can't speak. This place will not do a good job! pics are just one hand other is worse! read more

Very nice and pedi lasted forever!!! Nice staff too. Pleasant atmosphere and speedy service.

The staff here is very friendly and efficient! My friends and I came here today for shellac manicures and pedicures. We all had a great experience and loved our nails! I had a fabulous pedicure Then I sat down with Cindy for a tip and dip and it went downhill from there. 2.5 hours later taking away my entire day off. My nails look super thick and wide and gross. Cut up cuticle's too. I told her they were too thick she said usually I dip more. She knew I was unhappy and offered nothing to fix. It was also more expensive than normal place I goI will NOT be back. read more

Went to get a simple manicure today and what I believe was a language barrier was the cause of a bad manicure. After I left a woman called and had me come back and gave me an amazing manicure. I really appreciated her time and understanding with me. She really took the time to make sure I got what I had wanted. If you have any issues here the best thing you can do is communicate and they will make sure you're taken care of. read more

I had a terrific manicurist at this shop before COVID but stopped going before the vaccine enabled us to have greater confidence to go out and about more safely. She is no longer here and when I asked for other names listed on Yelp, they were also no longer empl oyed here. So I took my chances and went with whoever they gave me. I was NOT disappointed! Parrs gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had. Plus she is thoughtful in making sure I was comfortable. I believe she takes pride in her work and insisted I let the polish dry 15 minutes so I wouldn't mess it up after I left. I have a punch card that gives me $10.00 off on my 5th visit and $15.00 off on my 10th visit...a very generous bonus, I think. read more

I am here in Des Moines from out of state so I have been a bit anxious about going to a new place for a mani/pedi. I called ahead to make a same day appointment for a pedicure and when I arrived I was greeted and in a chair within minutes. The salon is clean , spacious , and peaceful. It was pretty busy and I noticed no one waited more than a few minutes- even walk ins. There are three types of pedicures to choose from. It had been a while since my last one so I chose the spa pedicure. It was hands down the best pedicure I have ever gotten so it was worth every penny. They included all the things other salons will charge more for like a hot stone massage. I think I got a massage that lasted at least 15 mins. I almost fell asleep and that never happens. I love my pedicure. It turned out great. My nails are in bad shape so I'm taking a break from my favorite shellac or SNS manicure. I chose to get a basic manicure with clear polish and that turned out amazing. I will only be in Des Moines for a couple of months but this will definitely be my go to spot for nail care. read more

Absolutely the best manicure and pedicure I have ever received! I am not from the Des Moines area but will definitely be back. Believe me, I have the most awful finger and toe nails but you would never have any idea because of the amazing job that was done! I am so impressed! I got a regular pedicure and even the most basic level came with awesome add ons! My shellac manicure is perfect also. They take their time, make sure to perfect every minor detail, and ask to make sure you are satisfied after every step. I won't be going anywhere else for my nail needs. read more

Best pedicure I've ever had! They included so many extras that other places do not, and for the same price if not cheaper! Did a dip nail manicure and it turned out amazing! They have Netflix on which made my appointments feel like they flew by because the series would draw you in. Definitely going back again soon!!! read more

I'm never going anywhere else! After a bad experience at A Plus Nails I came here and she fixed them exactly how I wanted them. Jade at Purelux is fantastic. I have been getting my nails done since I was 12 years old. Most of that time I got acrylic nails. I have now switched to organic dip and it's great. So worth it. I am a very picky person and Jade paid attention to every detail. I will be coming back and this is now my new salon. So glad I found them. read more

This new business is worth the stop. There is tons of parking, it's super clean and you don't yet need to make an appointment prior to. They let me watch my fav sitcom on Netflix, gave me 20% off my service and had a punch card for buy 10, get 1 free. Once the 20% grand opening discount goes away they'll be a little pricier than the competition but I like these folks for their efficient service! My nails looks great! read more

I LOVE Purelux! I have searched high and low for years and I cannot overstate this enough - I've finally found a nail spot where everyone is amazing. Cute place, top notch service, and outstanding attention to nail detail. I go to Jade, but I've had experiences with others and they're all great at what they do. Check it out! read more

Decent job but horrible service. We came in as a walk in and they sat us. They were rude for the two pedicures that we wanted. On top of that, every request seemed problematic. First my wife got a polish that was too light on the first polish that she picked and asked for a French tip; he seemed irritated about that request. Then she just asked for a French tip. My wife thought that the polish was sloppily and asked that it could be cleaned up and he acted like it was problematic. And my lady was plain rude. Like I said, they do an okay job but If the service is trash and they rush you, what's the point. read more

Such a great nail salon! I've been going to this salon for over a year and the staff is wonderful. My dip manicure and shellac pedicures look great every time and last for at least 3 weeks. I have been having my nails done for two years. I recently moved to the area and at first thought this was a fabulous place but I soon learned they must not have done my nails correctly because within a week my nails started breaking and peeling. I had the dipping powder done (which is what I always had done at the old place I went to). My nails are completely ruined until they grow out now. Very disappointed! read more

I highly recommend this place to get your nails done. I had been searching for a place where the gel polish would actually stay on for at least two weeks and I am happy to say I can get three weeks out of my nails! Went for the first time for a pedicure and fill. I left very happy with the results. My DIL made the appointment for us and 4 YO grand-daughter. Everyone was friendly and the services were excellent. The operators were sweet and patient with the 4 YO, painting her finger and toe nails. I would definitely go back for additional services. read more

Visiting Des Moines for weekend and found this salon on Yelp. I didn't have an appointment and it was a bit of a drive from my hotel. Walked in and was asked if I would mind coming back in 40 minutes. Definitely worth the wait. Jade spent close to an hour doing French manicure with dip and tips - my nails were a mess. She did a lovely job and was super patient and pleasant with me. I will definitely go back and see her next visit! Thank you Jade. read more

Attention to detail is the focus here. I was a walk in on a Sunday afternoon. Others had to come back. I lucked out on timing. I got a shellac manicure and a basic pedi. They have matching colors, which is big to me. A young woman with an appointment and obviously a regular, showed the owner a picture of something she wanted to try. Instead of saying sure, she was honest and said she had never tried it and didn't want to experiment on her! Both technicians did a very nice job, checking their work several times. My adult daughter got her first acrylics here and was very happy too. Will come back even though it's across town. I've been to several places and have been dissatisfied one way or another. This place has a very nice, caring staff and is kept clean. read more
