It was my first brazilian experience in US and she made me feel really comfortable. She is very quick and I felt very little pain. She is definitely an expert. A big thumbs up to Kari!! I also got a haircut, don't remember the stylist's name, but it was not that great. And also got a facial in the Johnston or Des Moines location but wasn't very happy about it. I had been going to this salon for 10 years! I trusted them and recommended them to everyone. But…read morerecently I had the worse experience I have ever had at a salon. And I am not saying that lightly! I went in on a Wednesday and asked them to touch up my hair. I had a very gold, ombre color. The hairdresser said she was going to try for a more rose-gold color. Okay. My hair came out pink! Not a subtle pink, but a true-pink! I told the girl I wasn't loving the color and I had expected it to be more gold. Over the night, I didn't warm up to it and scheduled a correction with the salon that Thursday. From the second I got there I have never felt so judged! I was treated like I was a problem client, like they wished I wasn't there and accused me at one point of changing my mind. They lightened my hair and applied more gold but the pink was still obviously there. I was told I might have an undertone of pink but these were uneven and sporadic light-pink highlights! I expressed that I was unhappy because I wanted my hair color to at least look like I did it on purpose. I asked for them to put some kind of light-pink toner or something on the ends so it was at least a unison color. What additionally upset me, the owner said I was changing my mind and they had already done $300 of free services to correct my hair, so they would have to charge me for the toner. When I asked how much would it be the owner and hair-dresser spoke at the same time and quoted me two different prices! The owner said $45, the hair-dresser said $25. I was done and just asked them to finish drying and styling my hair, so I could leave. I was a loyal customer for 10 years, I asked for a easy fix for the fact I was prepared to live with pink high-lights, even though 48 hours ago I had none, I was treated badly, and I was getting quoted different prices. I left in tears and drove home crying! I will never go back! The warning I have too those who decide to go to this salon is that do you want to take the chance to be a client that they screw over and then blame you for the mistake making you feel like garbage? Not worth the turmoil with so many other wonderful salons in the area!

I would normally drive up to Des Moines, cross my fingers i'd find someone who knows what they're doing, and then repeat again a few months down the road. Now, all I have to do is drive down the road, and all my worries vanish. For starters, the vibe is very relaxing. when I sit in their waiting area, I always feel like i'm at a girlfriends house for coffee. There's always someone at the front desk to greet you with a warm smile, and check you in for your appointment. Next- product. Long ago, I did marketing for a day spa back in New York, and I get a little judgmental on what products salons choose to carry. My jaw dropped to the floor with excitement when I saw that they carry Davines. It is 110% THE best haircare line you can find, and suitable for all hair textures-my daughter has straight long hair, and mine is VERY curly, and we're able to use the same shampoo & conditioner. I think product is extremely important for troubleshooting everyones unique hair needs. My daughter had severe dandruff/ cradle cap since she was a baby. I booked her an appointment recently with Morgan for a natural tech treatment, and I could not believe the difference! Oh, if I didn't mention, my daughter is 4.. beautiful salon that's kid friendly, and has product that is gentle enough for a tiny scalp, but powerful enough to shred through all that dead skin.. what a win! My son also gets his hair cut here (7y/o) usually with Maddie. She somehow is able to keep him sitting still in the chair, and always provides him with a clean fade, and a managable cut. I myself jump between Maddie & Morgan depending on my needs at the time. When I don't feel like dealing with my hair, I usually book with Maddie for a nice braid. I would also like to mention that their talent with coloring hair is pretty comparable with a big city - they execute their consultations so you feel confident in their work throughout the entire process. Kole especially does some incredible work!

I scheduled an acrylic removal and gel manicure after being referred by a friend. From the moment I…read morewalked in, I already felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I arrived on time for my appointment, but I was not taken back until about 10 minutes later. My nails were wrapped for acrylic removal, and I was told they would need to soak for 15 minutes. However, only about two minutes later, another woman came over, removed everything very abruptly, and immediately began working on my natural nails. She was rough throughout the process, but I chose not to say anything at the time. During the appointment, she commented that my eyebrows were "thick" and said I would look prettier if I got them done. I declined, but the comment felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Very little care or attention was given to shaping or cleaning up my nails. After applying cuticle oil, she instructed me to wash my hands. I returned to my chair expecting to continue with the gel manicure I had specifically scheduled, only to be told, "You're done." I then explained that I had booked both a removal and a gel manicure. I even stated that if there was no time for gel, I would have accepted regular polish because I did not want to leave with bare nails. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the issue, she appeared confused and dismissive. Frustrated at that point, I simply said I would leave if there was no time to complete the service. When I spoke with the receptionist at the front desk and explained the situation, I was met with the same lack of concern. She simply stated, "Okay, $26." I later checked the website and saw that acrylic removal was listed as $5, so I am also confused by the additional charge. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of care and professionalism throughout the appointment. My nails were not shaped properly, no effort was made to make them look presentable, and no one seemed concerned that the service I booked was never completed. I have worn acrylics and nail designs for years, so leaving the salon with bare, unfinished nails was upsetting and embarrassing. This was my first experience at your salon after receiving a recommendation from a friend, and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. I left feeling ignored, dismissed, and honestly upset enough that I cried in my car afterward. I will not be returning, but I do hope someone takes the time to address this situation appropriately.
