I have been going to Classy Nail Spa every two weeks for almost a year (both in Ankeny and Urbandale). I have been very disappointed as of late with the quality of my dip nails. I leave and my nails are sloppy, and get home only to notice imperfections in the top coat. This has happened the last 3 times. What a clean, classy spot! My mom and I were looking for nail salons in Ankeny to get our wedding nails done at, and this came as a recommendation from a local friend. First impressions were great - the space is bright, clean, and airy with tall ceilings and lots of customers. My mom opted for a pedicure and I came for a manicure. I was choosing between gel and pink & whites, and they recommended pink & whites/dip instead. My technician was great and asked me about myself as she worked - and I was done faster than I expected. My only complaint was that they were a bit thicker than I'd hoped - but I should have spoken up onsite. My mom said her pedicure foot and leg massage was unreal. A truly classy nail salon! read more

My friend and I went here because there is a student discount on Mondays. The price was about $15 more than their website states acrylic full sets with gel are. When we left the salon they looked fine, but these have been the worst nails I have gotten. Within 3 days the acrylic on my nails started peeling up. All of my nails are now visibly peeling and chipping away. The friend I went with had 5 of hers fall off before the two week mark. I have had full sets that last over a month and these started to deteriorate in a couple of days. Some of the tips also weren't placed far enough back on my nails as visible on my thumb. My nails were decent but not to my liking. The pedicure was way better service than the full set. My toes looked & felt great afterwards. They just opened May 1st. They are a clean and affordable nail salon. I got the deluxe pedicure for $45+ tax. Pedicure prices start from $30-$60+. My deluxe pedicure came with a sugar scrub, massage, hot towels and polish. The nail technician was nice and did a good job but she hurt me like twice (cutting too deep into my nail and dry skin, I didn't bleed), that's why I rated 4 instead of 5. read more

Phenomenal. When we first moved to Ankeny a little over 2 years ago we went to atleast 3, maybe 4, different places to see where our go to pedicure/manicure spot would be. We landed on a place. It was good. We liked it. We've gone there since we moved here. However, when Tram and her husband Andy opened this place we knew we had to try it out. So glad we did. Wow. So good. Not only is the environment, staff, and service spectacular. Out of the dozens of places my fiance and I have gone to across the country (I'm originally from Cali and we travel a bit) this has to be the best. We were impressed with the level of thought and smarts that they put into the littlest details, whether that is matching toe and finger polish, so you dont have to have different colored toes and fingers if you dont want, or the non-typical, yet wonderful background music, the "everything-disposable-approach" for safety/cleanliness, the fancy features of their chairs for comfort and ease, even the size of their towels so your foot and leg is fully covered, wine, soda, water, paraffin wax, and most importantly from a guys perspective, their level of service, and therefore $, is paired with the guaranteed amount of time theyll spend on you. In other words, if I'm spending $40, but not getting my nails painted like my fiance, I still get 40 minutes. I dont get just 20 or 30 minutes while I wait for my fiance, and they go to the next customer. LOVE THIS. The extra time allows for us dudes to get extra massage time instead of our nails painted like the ladies. It's awesome....... Listen, in all seriousness, try this place, I'm sure it'll become your favorite too! read more

Classy is my favorite nail salon! Everyone there is helpful and I always leave with exactly what I want. They offer tons of nail colors and types, and are very talented nail artists. I am consistently disappointed with the work here. It's a nice environment and they (usually) do not talk about you but the work is soooo subpar. Nails are already lifting after one week and the top coat is gone. The shaping is sloppy. I don't do any sort of manual labor that uses my hands. Every time I come here I spend so much money and try to be so nice to them in hopes of better service and I am always disappointed. It's just bad, sloppy craftsmanship. They take no pride whatsoever in their work and squeeze what they think they can out of you. I think they have lost a lot of good paying, good tipping customers who would be long term if this place cared for their customers at all. My friend Jamie has given this place several tries and says she always tries to be nice to them and tip well but they consistently screw her over and laugh about it.. she drives way further out of Ankeny to West Des Moines just to avoid this place.
