I really enjoyed coming to this salon. I usually have my friend cut my hair but I thought I'd try something new. Merideth did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. I told her my idea and she listened and brought it to life. After so we talked about different products I could use (if so wanted to) and showed some examples and how to use them which was really helpful. I've never had an issue when it came to the kind-of cut I wanted with karissa..But this last time it was a different story. I specifically told her what I wanted ( a bob) and I told her I don't want it short , and gave her the length I was comfortable with. She did the exact opposite. Told me pretty much I'll get used to it, it's a shock and it'll take awhile for me to adjust. I told her this is not what I wanted or had in my head and that its short....i did say it could grow on me and it was cute don't get me wrong but way to short. The whole situation wasn't okay. I didn't want to cause any drama and I think they all knew I wasn't happy with it because of their comments towards me. I was debating on whether to give this place two or three stars. I'm rating the salon three stars and the stylist two stars. I received one of the worst haircuts of my life here. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that it was from someone straight out of beauty school (but it was one of their top stylists). The salon is ok for an Aveda salon, but I've been to better ones. They've made me feel more pampered than this one. The stylist kept me waiting for a few minutes but didn't say anything. Neither did the person at the front desk. I told the stylist that I wanted my hair razor cut because that's how it was cut before, but that I wanted it a little more piecey. I also told her I only wanted a half inch cut off because I was trying to grow it out. She started cutting it dry without washing my hair. So I asked her if she was cutting it dry (a technique I don't really care for). She said she was because of something about it not shrinking. I figured she was the expert so I didn't say anything. She seemed distracted while she was cutting my hair. When she was finished and I was trying to look at my hair from the front, back and sides, I felt like she was trying to rush me out of her chair. I didn't get a chance to look at my hair really well. I could see that it was a lot shorter than I wanted, but I thought I could work some magic with it. It wasn't until I got home and looked at it up close that I saw how truly horrible my hair looked. The front is shorter than the back on one side. The pieces are choppy and look like they were cut with a kitchen knife. There are holes where too much hair was cut out. The ends look jagged in some parts. My haircut has no style at all and now I'll have to wait four months for my hair to grow back to the length it was before. The only good thing about the whole experience was that I got 30% off for being a new customer. Definitely a haircut fail. read more

The lady who did my lip wax burnt the crap out of my face. When I called they said it was an allergic reaction to the wax. Even though I never have had an allergic reaction to any kind of wax. And to top it all off it was only on the right side of my lip. They did nothing else to help me and i am very pissed because now I have to go see a doctor to get this fixed. 0/10 will never be back. read more

I love coming to your salon for my manicures/pedicures!! Alesha is fantastic! I love how clean everything is & new files and buffers just for me. My fingernails are long, strong, & healthy and not covered in plastic tips and chemicals! The dry pedi is phenomenal, too! Prices are very fair - especially for all the perks included. I would agree 100% with the other two reviewers. I have been going to an Aveda salon for over ten years, and this is probably the 4th one that I have had experience with (since I have relocated several times). This one is probably the least friendly in term of front desk service and overall experience. At other Aveda salons, I was used to being greeted by name when I entered the salon and offered a drink when I enter the salon. Often times, they would also offer an aromateraphy with a scalp massage, a hand massage and make up touch up during the service or after. But at this salon, it's basically you go in, get your hair cut and that's it. With all that said, I have been going to Tiffany for almost a year now, and she's done a really nice job with my haircut and facial waxes - so I'm probably not going to switch. Her hours are limited though since she's part-time, so it's a little bit of a challenge to schedule time to see her. But it is worth it for me than having to go through new stylists that are potentially inexperienced. read more

I have been to Pure Salon twice now and I have had Carly cut my hair. She is extremely professional and very friendly. She listens very well to what I need and has given me exactly what I want each time! I felt very relaxed throughout my entire appointment, they have so many special services like jewelry cleaning, paraffin hand dip and I joyed a great cup of coffee while I got my hair colored. I originally called asking if they accept walk ins but we were able to make an appointment that day which was nice! I don't remember her name, but the girl who cut my hair did such a nice job. She recommended leave in shampoos since I bleach my hair and I loved communicating with her. Plus it's not a loud salon either which my original one was so loud I could never hear what my stylist was saying. I would definitely recommend going to this place. I cannot recommend Tiffany highly enough. I was my stylist for a few years and she never disappointed me. She truly is a perfectionist when it comes to your hair-- from your color, to the cut, and even your eyebrows. She even does hair extensions. I have been to the Salon twice now. My first visit was pleasant and the hair coloring was an excellent choice. I have sensitive skin and the facial waxing was done well. I was offered a drink at the front desk, which was nice. That is where the good experience ends, though. I definitely did not like the hair cut. The stylist would not listen to my requests, but instead would tell me that I need to learn how to style my hair. Additionally, stylist recommended products that the salon sells. I decided to give the salon a second chance. I went back with a picture of what I wanted my hair style to be, so as to avoid confusion. No drink offered this time. The sensitive skin was my problem this time and the waxing job left my face very, very red. Instead of listening to me about how I wanted my hair done, I got an argument about how hair doesn't work that way and I need to use product, style my hair, etc., etc., etc. Didn't like the hair cut nor the style. The stylist again was all too happy to sell me product that the salon sells. The hair cut is not what I want and I will be going elsewhere and getting it cut again; hopefully as I ask this time. read more

Won't be going back anymore. My daughter had highlights put in and they washed out after one swim in the pool. My stylist told me it would happen, only after my daughter's stylist had already started. I used to dread going to the salon like going to the dentist, so I never aspired to find a stylist I was loyal to. However, Pure Salon has completely turned my attitude around. The desk staff is charming and professional and the owner attentive and hands-on. The ambiance is pampering but warm, not intimidating. What I really care about, though, is that my stylist, Chelsea is just wonderful. She has a real knack for efficiently explaining and educating... everything from cutting options, to styling techniques, to how to use a product effectively, including side-uses you might not have thought of. I never feel like I'm getting the abhorred hard upsell - in fact, I feel like the mini-education I receive each visit makes my time and money well spent. Chelsea has an astute instinct for what to suggest, and my hair always comes out looking better than what I would have come up with on my own. I even (unbelievably) like the way she styles it at the end. Although this might not be a "must-have" trait in a stylist, my favorite bit is that she can keep up a genuinely engaging conversation, but is just as capable of leaving a comfortable silence (what a relief.) I've received a lot of unsolicited compliments on how my hair is looking lately, so I know it's not all in my head. I talk about this salon a lot, which is pretty weird behavior for me - so this good review is truly well-deserved. read more

I agree with Fawn. Honestly, the worst and most bizarre haircut I've ever received. I have long, straight, fine hair and asked for a blunt, all-one-length haircut on a center part. Seemed like a simple and straightforward task to me. The stylist did not comb out my hair in order to create a center part; she just started cutting haphazardly. I received random, jagged, uneven layers that of course thinned out my hair. My ends look dog-chewed. After cutting my hair, the stylist proceeded to flat iron it, which I did not (and never would) ask for. Hello, my hair is as straight as a pin! The last thing I want is for it to look flatter! After spending $102 at this salon, I went home and tried to repair the damage myself. I will be going to another salon next week to fix this; unfortunately, that will involve cutting at least 2 or 3 inches off my hair. On the bright side, the stylist was cheerful, and my highlights came out alright, although rather subtle. I just wish she would have listened to me. read more
