Mendis makes good pizza. Maybe not over the top amazing oh my god but so good that we order it time and time again. They usually have specials (just ask on the phone when you order). I like classic crust which is a bit crunchier on the entire pizza bottom, my fiancé digs the thick crust which is doughy and fluffy throughout and with crust like cheesy bread crust but without the cheese. (It would be AMAZING with cheese stuffed crust though). Their staff is always super friendly, they deliver quickly and we enjoy every last bite each time we order (which is sometimes twice a week). I'd take it over any of the other pizza options in the Independence/Monmouth area. (Though we haven't tried yeasty beasty yet!) read more

Although there a few Pizza places in town Mendi's has the greatest ambience of them all. It has the feel of a traditional Pizza parlor with a fire going and TV's and long tables for large parties. I only with their web site was a Traditional web site and not Facebook. :-( read more

I do like this pizza the best out of the choices from our town......if I get it at night or on the weekends. I sought out to leave a review because I feel as though during the weekdays the pizza is awful and I'm wasting my money, and we order here often. There is way too much sauce and the toppings don't cover the entire top of the pizza, even with double pepperoni. I feel like I'm just eating mouthfuls of sauce. Love the pizza at night and weekends. Good pizza, not great but similar to other pizza I've had in Oregon. I can't really tell the difference between Wallery's, Abby's,Ugo's, Mendi's and the others I've tried. The side salad was a good size and tasty. The decor is very old fashioned, but I don't mind that really. I tried to buy a side of ranch for my pizza after I paid because I forgot, they charge for ranch, and the guy just gave me one and said not to tell. That was super nice and I appreciate little things like that. I like that you get your own plate and foil if you need to take it to go. I'm self sufficient. There was a large crowd of kids that had won a little league game and that made the noise with the tv unbearable. Not the restaurant' fault though. I would buy this pizza again, but I don't crave it. In fact I would be just as happy with pizza hut. read more

I called in an order to take out, was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. Showed up to pick it up maybe 5 minutes after that 15-20 minute time frame. Was told they lost my ticket, and proceeded to wait 45 minutes for my pizza. Only to find out it had been ready and sitting out for about 15 minutes. I am not happy with how long I was waiting for a pizza that was already made. read more

We decided to try Mendi's Pizza for the first time. It always seemed to have people there. We ordered the pepperoni with black olives and mushrooms. The cheese was not fully melted on the top and the crust was crisp almost over done. They obviously do not take sanitation seriously, no hair nets, no gloves no washing hands after transactions. The person that brought our pizza up and called my name was moving the pieces around with his bare hands adjusting them on the pan when I was walking up to get it. We ordered an appetizer of hot wings. It came after we had our pizza for about ten to fifteen minutes. The wings were overcooked and quite possibly from the night before as they were greasy and smelled horrible. I do not recommend this as a place to eat. You are much better off like these other reviews to get a take and bake rather than spending your money here. read more

All I have to say about Mendi's is that it's a great place to take kids, but for a delivery pizza, we need a Pizza Hut in Independence or Monmouth (West Salem is close, but won't deliver to Independence) read more

We were very disappointed with our first Mendi's experience. We tried to order the breadsticks, but they were out of them. Then we tried to order the 13" pizza and they charged us/delivered us a giant size which was $6 more then what we had wanted to pay. So we hoped the pizza would at least be worth it, but we were disappointed with what we saw. The canadian bacon looked like bologna, with a rubbery fake appearance. There was little to no sauce. Upon taking a bite there was absolutely nothing to be desired, it was even less desirable with the hair that was clearly not ours sitting on my slice. We will definitely not be returning. There are plenty of other, better pizza options in the area. read more
