I've been coming here as long as I can remember, even when it was a Grizzly Bear Pizza location. That's where all the Old West decor came from. I haven't been inside for at least a couple of years, so I don't know if they have changed the decor by now. My go to pizza here is the Mustang. It has Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, and Pepper Jack cheese. The mildly spicy cheese makes this pizza! I have been getting it with the Homestyle Pan crust lately, and that has been a good choice. It is nice and chewy, with a braided edge and a garlic/herb seasoning that is a great addition. This place isn't exactly cheap, and sometimes my order isn't totally correct or the toppings are a bit haphazardly arranged. But, to me, the Mustang is nostalgic comfort food at its best. I picked up one for my birthday this year and wasn't disappointed. Everyone I have introduced to this pizza still talks about it. For a solid pizza that isn't from a huge chain and brings back yummy memories, this place is at the top of my list in the area! read more

Very disappointed. They served others who ordered after me first. Then I get my order and it's not the right pizza. I imagine they gave my order to those who were served before me, but ordered after me. Staff was very unfriendly. All others had their name called or order brought to the window for them. No such service for me. Might have been a racial thing since I was only one of my race and the other dinners who all the same. I won't return. Sad to be treated this way. read more

I am not sure if I was spoiled by the previous owners from the early 2000nds. But when they sold the place to the new owners it took a turn for the worse. DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY First customer on a Monday and there were garbage buckets by the food delivery window. In front of the counter. Trash on the floor. They had a special of pizza and salad. This place brought back a lot of college memories. I didn't go to school in the area, but every college town has to have at least one pizza parlor. So I'm sure this place is busy when Western Oregon University is in session. Visiting on a holiday weekend, however, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. I have to admit that I sort of enjoyed the Western atmosphere. Not authentic Western, more of a 70s interpretation of the old West. They have faux saloon doors at the entrance and the theme continues a bit on the inside. The restaurant also has four video games and the space is dominated by a large stove in the center of the room. Even though it is a decent sized pizza place, it is definitely set up for you to take your pizza to go. There is a drive thru window and a table set up with items to package your pizza or leftovers. The pizzas were both overdone and underdone. We ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and Cheese and Pepperoni. Both pies were undercooked and the cheese was not fully melted. The BBQ chicken doesn't have marinated chicken, but instead the sauce is generously spread all over the top. The effect was over sweet. So the pizza was OK if you go in expecting just a basic pie. There is no subtlety here. Service was fine and they gave us the remote control so we could choose whatever we wanted to watch on the large flatscreen TV. There is a second room with more natural light, that would be a good choice for parties or private functions. In an area with more competition, this would be a two. But, having driven through Monmouth and Independence, there isn't much local competition, especially on a Sunday. read more

Pizza is usually good. the only issue they have is consistency and price. Right now they have a chicken bacon ranch that is now 30 bucks a xlarge. They raised all their largest pizza's by two bucks. When we get the pizza either has too little chicken or too much sauce. Right now, the price increase is going to have us go elsewhere as it is too much to feed the family. Looks like extreme inflation may kill some businesses. read more

The only saving grace is the food is decent. However, they have terrible time management regarding deliveries & wait times. We have eaten here a few times & have had delivery called twice. Every time we always are reminded why it's not a consistent go to because although the pizza is decent the customer service is not the best. read more

Drove up through the drive thru and you can visibly see a staff member eating chips and touching peoples food and making boxes without washing their hands. My family and I ordered a giant pizza for delivery today and were very pleased! We got a half-and-half (something for the veggies and meat eaters) and the crust was medium thick and crispy on the bottom, and a nice quantity of toppings for the price. It only took a half hour from phone order to delivery, and the delivery driver was very friendly. Great value and delicious, we'll order from Mendi's again. The pizza was good, love the thin crunchy type crust and the large salad was big enough for 3. It was very nice to pull up to a drive up window after a long day and grab a nice hot pizza. We had Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza with a side of actually ripe tomatoes which was good. Would love to try a combo pizza but part of our party was having a touchy stomach so stayed on the safe side. If we stay in this area again will definitely eat here. read more

This spot is pretty hit or miss for good pizza. It's usually really good, especially the BBQ Chicken pizza. Sometimes it seems like they leave the pizza in the oven for too long because the bottom of the curst is burnt. Overall pretty good. read more

About 6 weeks ago, we went for dinner. Pizza, spaghetti, wings, salad. Wings, inedible. spaghetti was tomato or pizza sauce and prefab meat balls. Pizza was average. Been going to Mendis off and on for about 10 yrs. Was good prior to new ownership some time ago. Lots of complaints about quality and quantity of pizza finally got new owners to finally get back on track. Was good again for a while however tonight we found its back to being subpar. Good pizza. If you are looking for local pizza that isn't a chain - this is the place to go. It does look old in the inside but their flavors are really good. You can't judge the appearance. If you love pizza, Mendi's is not for you. I happened to stop in there on my way home one day because I had a hankering for pizza. I had never been there before so I thought I might give them a try. The lady at the register was very nice. She made me a delicious and perfectly plated salad that was by far the best thing there. I like to ordered a veggie pizza which is a good way to tell if the cook knows what their doing. Veggies should not be raw or cold coming out of a pizza oven. Everything should be melty and piping hot. I couldn't taste any sauce , it had no flavor and the crust was terrible and clearly a frozen pre-made commercial product. Then the wings that I also ordered were the kind of frozen microwaveable wings that you can buy in a bag with some sauce drizzled on them. Terrible. If you want a real pizzeria....make the real deal. Have someone come in and make some dough...it's not that hard and let it sit and rise. Get plain chicken wings and marinate them in something fresh- we are surrounded by a bounty of ingredients, roast them until they have some char on them then toss them in a bowl of proper hot sauce for crying out loud! An update of the interior at the very least would be in order. If I owned that place I would personally put some effort into jazzing up the inside. It looks like an old saloon in there. Seriously these people need to go back to school for cooking. We ordered a large pan pizza and when we got home found it was very thin crust. Called and made our complaint. They stated they would remake our pizza but had to have the other one back. I stated could you at least deliver it to us for free. She said she had to talk to supervisor. Right....then she said it would be at least an hour or so before they could. I said that was not acceptable so she said I could come pick up in 20 mins. Went back to get it and I'll be damned by what they call a pan pizza this was basically the same dam pizza and they just put dough on the edge of it and cooked a thin pizza again. Oh not to mention the first one had burned crust. What a waste for a pizza place. This place gives pizza a bad name. Never going there again. I was so mad after I walked out the door and looked at the pizza that I wanted to go back in and throw it in their face. Used to love Mendi's, but recently their pizza has gone to crap. This past Sunday I ordered pizza, bread sticks and the new cinnamon bites. The cinnamon bites had no icing on them. At all. We were told the person who knows how to make it wasn't there..... I was still charged full price for them. As being someone who worked for a restaurant. Not only is costermer service a low priority but you can expect to have to ask for everything from sweetner packets to trying to get your kid's money back from the video games that take money and give nothing. Not only did I inform them the machine took my kid's money they actually argued with me about it and refused to make it right. All they did was tape a "not working" sign on it. Food and dirty dishes were on the table when we arrived for a birthday party and remained there for the entire hour and a half. When I first walked in, it reminded me of my favorite place to go as a child. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is great. I had great service from everyone here. But, when I ordered my food, I paid a lot. I feel like I paid too much, actually. When the food came out, it looked decent enough. However, the wings I ordered were greasy and hard to eat. I've had better wings from a bar that were $0.25 each. The pizza was burnt and very dry. If you feel like spending $20 for a pizza, go somewhere like Yeasty Beasty or even Papa Murphy's. Favorite place to get pizza, hands down! Their tater babies are fantastic and the ranch is a must if you want that extra flavor, it is so good.
