NEVER AGAIN!!!! This…read moreplace is horrible. I gave it another chance, and somehow this experience was even worse than the last one. Once again, there were no rib tips available, and this time it was only 4:00 PM. That alone was frustrating, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. Today, with some hesitation, I took my uncle to Off the Bone for the first time. He wanted ribs, and he did not realize this place was right down the street from him. I told him I would take him there, but I warned him that this restaurant is very hit-or-miss because they often do not have the food you actually want. Unfortunately, today proved my point. Not only were there still no rib tips, but because of his health, my uncle did not want to travel farther just to find some. So we settled for ribs instead. Trying to stay positive, I ordered 2 rib dinners and 4 slices of cake. I specifically requested sweet barbecue sauce only, because neither my uncle nor I eat mustard. Of course, when the food came out, the ribs had a mix of sweet sauce and mustard sauce on them. I was told it was "some other sauce," but it was absolutely not what I asked for. I immediately asked the young man to take it back because I do not eat mustard and that was not my order. A few minutes later, he brought the food back. In the same container, they had simply poured more red sweet sauce over the food that already had mustard sauce on it. I was shocked. At that point, I immediately asked for my money back. He said, "Give me a minute," walked away, and then came back again, not with a refund, but with the same food in the same container. This time, it looked like they had tried to wipe the sauce off and put new sauce on the same ribs again. Who does that? By then, I told the young man I was getting very upset and that I only wanted my money back. Again, he walked away and came back, but still did not refund me. Instead, he brought out another rib dinner. This time it appeared to be a fresh plate, but with even less meat than before. My uncle looked at me and just shook his head. By then, he had already started eating his ribs with the mustard and sweet sauce mixed together just to keep the peace. Rather than continue arguing in front of him, I accepted the replacement plate and sat down to eat with him. The young man then asked me if I was okay, and I told him plainly: No, I am not okay. I explained to him that I am also a business owner, and this is not how customers should be treated. I also made it clear that I would be posting this review. I paid over $55, and this is how I was handled. To make matters worse, I had forgotten to tip the young man when I first ordered, so afterward I bought 2 bottles of water specifically so I could leave him a $10 tip. Looking back, after the way this situation was handled, keeping that tip felt like an insult. When we walked out, I said, "Never again." My uncle immediately said, "Never again too." Bringing me back the same food three times was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about food quality and proper handling. Refusing my refund twice was poor customer service. And after everything that happened, keeping my $10 tip felt like a complete slap in the face. Like I said before: DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

One of the best dining experiences I have had. Coming from Atlanta we have a ton of great Cajun…read moreoptions but this really impressed. Everything from the ambiance to the food and even the service was phenomenal. Great dining room area with both an outdoor and indoor bar. We sat with the bartender AB that immediately greeted us with waters and their menu. They are currently running a pick 2 for $15.99 menu that has some pretty great options. We had 2 meals & chose the wings, blackened shrimp po boy with the small gumbo's. Wings were super crispy, juicy, and tender. With a nice light Smokey taste. They buffalo and blue cheese sauce was actually pretty impressive. The po boy had a good amount of shrimp to bread ratio, with a nice sauce included. The gumbo had a deep rich flavor, but was not overly heavy with fatty meats. We were also informed of the happy hour oyster special, so we ended up getting a few of the rockerfella and raw. The rockerfella was amazing with melty cheese, a nice garlic flavor, & served with crispy bread slices. The raw came with crackers, lemon, wine vinegar, and a tasty cocktail sauce. Both were delicious. Marco, the manager came and spoke with us about our experience which really showed the attention to detail this restaurant offers. After sharing our story of visiting New Orleans a few years ago and bragging about the beignets, he brought us 2 out to finish our meal. I have to say, these were better than the ones I've had at cafe beignet in NOLA. They were HOT out the fryer to the point where the powdered sugar was slightly melted. Crisp outside dough but gooey soft in the center. A unreal experience to end a fantastic meal. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Luckily my sister lives 5 mins from this place but I would easily drive a hour or 2 when visiting from out of town just for this experience. Marco and AB really went above and beyond to make sure this was a special outing on a regular ole' Monday, and we could not have left happier.

From the moment we walked in, the welcome was freakin' awesome. The New Orleans vibe was absolutely on point and set the tone for a great meal. Our waitress was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. She recommended her favorite dish, and it ended up becoming my favorite too. Now, I'm a country boy, so the deviled eggs just weren't my style, but everything else more than made up for it. The cornbread was incredible. Honestly, I couldn't decide if I was eating cake or cornbread--it was that good. The barbecue shrimp was outstanding and easily one of my favorite dishes (our waitress clearly has great taste!). The fried oysters were cooked to perfection, and the baked chicken was seasoned and prepared just right. The gator tail was great with the sauce. I've had scalloped potatoes many times over the years, but these were on another level--definitely some for the record books. If you're looking for great food, an authentic New Orleans atmosphere, and excellent service, Voodoo is absolutely worth the visit.

They are located on the north side of Okeechobee Blvd next to the arcade. There's ample parking in the lot out front. We were warmly greeted by the personable owner who explained how the restaurant worked. And how to build your "soul" bowl. They also have "bites" like conch fritters and coconut shrimp and others . You start with your base. I chose mashed potatoes and he got yellow rice. The other base choice is white rice. The potatoes are red bliss chunky mashed and wonderful. He was happy with his yellow rice. I also got some turkey gravy on the side for my potatoes, but did not really need it. Then you choose your 2 sides. We both opted for the candy yams. I got macaroni and cheese and he got collard greens (with smoked turkey). The yams were delicious and addictive. He said the collards were great, too. Other sides could be cabbage, Lima beans, green beans, black eyed peas, or potato salad. Then you select your protein. I got the fried chicken -- white meat -- which was a perfectly lightly breaded meaty chicken breast and a separate wing. And he got (1) fried tender large catfish fillet. We both liked our selections. The portion in each bowl was so large that we took leftovers home for our dinner. Other protein choices on the menu are baked chicken or pork chops or snapper or turkey wings or oxtails. On the weekends (incl Thursdays) they have meatloaf and pot roast. And you get a square of sweet cornbread. I saved mine for dinner and had it for "dessert". Each protein on the menu is named after one of the owner's relatives. He's "Little Lynn"; and the restaurant is named after his grandmother. Photos of the family members adorn the wall above the tables. Your bowl is priced based on the protein you select. The restaurant will have been open three years to come this October. We hope they have a long continuing history (they began as a sauce manufacturer and catering company) as we look forward to many more delicious meals here.
