I've left a review for this place, regarding vibes, parking, and drinks, but this time it's for their egg waffle, which I would recommend you avoid unless you like unevenly cooked batter. I generally like coming here, but it's weird that they would serve something like this. I took off a star because it sort of says something about their standards. 6.85 for their egg waffle and it's kinda soggy with some parts undercooked, some edges being crispy and cooked. I personally love this cafe, which makes me a bit hesitant to say this is the saddest egg waffle I've paid for. Their waffle making machine or cooking temp is probably off, but the batter tastes good and I like the powder sugar topping. I could see the texture of it working out if maybe it was mochi flour, but right now it just feels and tastes undercooked. Look at the photo. Just stepping into this place, I liked the fact I was surrounded by adorable cat murals. The atmosphere is clean and bright. You order at the counter. Aside from all their drinks being listed on the wall menu behind the counter, they also had a separate floor display, listing the daily special. I ordered a small milk tea with boba, 25% sweet. Always like it when I can customize sweetness. There is also the option to customize the type and quantity of boba. I believe the owner delivered my drink to the table. Wow! Mellow now serves Vietnamese Iced Coffee and it's soooo good! It's not overly sweet like traditional Vietnamese coffee, it's very smooth and I wish I could make it at home because I could drink it every day. I find myself so torn here every time between these drinks: 1. Vietnamese Coffee - best coffee ever 2. Coconut Mango - I always think I can savor it and I down it within minutes 3. Fresh Taro Milk Tea - they make their taro puree from fresh taro, ask for a sample! 4. First Love - if I want something without milk and a more refreshing fruit tea They've also added a Pumpkin Spice Milk Tea! It's so good in the Oreo boba version. If you're cruising down PCH or you're in the Riviera Village area of Redondo Beach and you want some tea or Boba this is your place to go. This is a very fun business that offers a really nice selection of flavored teas, and even Vietnamese coffee. They have a couch, a chair, and some tables, so you can sit back and enjoy your drink. They also have a table outside, if you want to experience the weather. They do their jobs very well, and are very friendly. In terms of parking, if you're driving down PCH, you can easily park in the underground parking that is located just passed this business. Street parking is available, but it is commonly taken up by other cars. So, grabbing one of the underground parking spots, may be your best option. Thank you IG for reminding me that I have had Mellow Tea Studio bookmarked for a long time. We came today and I'm so glad I did. The parking garage was easy to find thanks to my fellow helpers. The interior is super cute! The decorations are great especially for cat lovers. There are quite a few tables where you can sit and work. There is also a pretty swing for a photo op We ordered the mango coconut sago which was delicious. We also ordered the mango and strawberry feast and both had great flavors and were refreshing It was my first time here so I completely forgot to adjust the sweetness level but surprisingly none of the drinks were overly sweet I'm always so happy to see a new boba tea shop pop up in the South Bay and Mellow Tea Studio is definitely one I will be returning to read more

My cat friends would love this place! The decor is super cute and full of cute cat drawings. The shop is so bright and cheerful. It brightens my day just walking in. What makes me happy is having a good boba drink and desserts. This place did not disappoint. They use not only fresh fruits but also uses real taro! My favorite drink is fresh taro milk tea, and this place makes one of the best. It's hard to find a tea shop that makes high quality drinks. They import their teas from Asia. My bf loves coffee, so we also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was one of the smoothest one I've had and doesn't have any bitter aftertaste. Parking: In a garage behind the store - There are two entrances so no worries if you miss the first one. Parking is free! I love free things! This place is Instagram worthy with a swing set inside adorned with vines and pastel pink colors. Their logo is super cute - a cat holding their milk tea, happily drinking while in a relaxed mood. They have your fresh fruit teas, brewed teas, cheesefoam teas, milk teas, yogurt drinks, and something called fruit feast teas. Fruit feat teas emphasize the fruit (mango, strawberry, watermelon, or cantaloupe) and have a cheesefoam on top. We got the mango one at 25% and it was super delicious - They use real mango! And it wasn't overly sweet! I got something different - Watermelon Green Tea with 25% sweetness and it was just right! Not too sweet, not too bland with the taste of real watermelon. Very good, but not as good as that fruit tea my husband got. I might have drank more of his than mine ;). They do have a loyalty program which you can sign up for with your phone number and there's a few tables inside (maybe can fit 16 people) along with a couch. Really good boba! I live in San Gabriel and would even say it's better than a lot of places in the SGV. My boyfriend and I were looking for a sweet treat and spotted Mellow and decided to give it a try. The staff was super friendly and gave us some small free samples of their taro and mango drinks. I usually get a jasmine milk tea whenever I order boba, but the mango sample was too good to pass up. I ended up getting their mango coconut drink with small tapioca balls. Tasted really fresh and was perfect for a hot day. Even though I didn't order it, the taro was also surprisingly tasty! I don't usually like taro boba drinks because they're too sweet/powdery, but the sample I tried was made with real taro. I'll have to go back to get a full drink with it. Ordered a taro milk tea which the nice man working there warned me tasted different than other boba shops--in a good way. Essentially, they used real taro here, so it's less sweet in general. Luckily, that's exactly what I wanted anyways. There is at least one set of outlets available at one table here. Perhaps one by the couch too. Bathrooms are also available. I was excited to try Mellow Tea Studio because of the high Yelp reviews. I got a jasmine milk tea. I've ordered jasmine milk teas from over 30-35 different boba tea shops in the past and this the worst I've ever had. The tea leaves must've been over cooked and they must've added artificial powder sweetener. The drink had a strong bitter aftertaste and wasn't sweet whatsoever. I had bad feeling the drink wasn't going to be good but once I noticed the drink color appeared yellow (like a banana flavored drink) than white/beige. The store itself seemed nice as well as the workers. The jasmine milk tea was awful and made me feel sick. Hopefully this was just a bad batch. read more

This place is a true gem! There is a large variety of drink options from traditional milk tea to fruit tea to cheesefoam tea to fruit and yogurt. If you are not a fan of traditional boba, fear not, as they certainly have something for you here that you'll like. Everything is customizable: ice level, sugar level, toppings, milk type. I'm not a big fan of tapioca balls, but I love lychee, and was able to customize my mango coconut drink with lychee jelly and it was delicious. At 25% sugar, it was sweet enough for me and very tasty. The staff is incredibly friendly and are very helpful if you need guidance in what to order (it can be overwhelming as there are so many options, but rest assured that you really can't go wrong here). I was unsure what level of sugar to add to my drink, and they made a perfect recommendation. Drinks are made with high quality ingredients (REAL fruit!) and made to order (so it will take a minute, but trust me, it's worth it). Prices are very reasonable and I'd almost say too low given the quality of the drinks. The shop is also quite large and very cute, so it would be a good place to come with a group, meet up with a friend, or do some work. Definitely worth a slight drive. Located on busy PCH, MTS took over the defunct Grail Churros & Ice Cream with a bright & open space, providing comfortable seating (love the couch by the corner) & free WiFi with outlets near the tables. I love the chalkboard's artistry denoting the WiFi PW. And the clean, well-stocked unisex restroom in the back right corner. The studio sits along a row of restaurants & other businesses with free garage parking; entrance is a few feet west of MTS. Mellow Tea Studio's menu is compact yet more diverse than most boba shops: Milk Tea, Fresh Milk, Fresh Fruit Tea, Cheesefoam Tea, Fresh Lemon Tea, Fruit Feast, Yogurt Drinks, Fresh Brewed Tea, Signature; Toppings: Boba, Crystal Boba, Sago, Pudding, Grass Jelly, Coconut Jelly, Cheesefoam, Vanilla Cream Top. Since our initial visit in late February 2022, we've been back so many times that I'm now the current Duchess. ;-) And I've brought my boba-fanatic friends too! Hehehe... =D During my initial visit, one of the drinks: Mellow Melon was made incorrectly with the addition of lime so I received a 2nd drink while keeping the erroneous one. Well, I didn't know how the original tasted because it went to my friend, but the so-called "wrong" drink was delish that I'm questioning where was the mistake. I eventually had it in its original intention & was good too. I actually liked the mistake better! LOL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ MTS got the typical drinks down, & even more so with the specialty & signature drinks! You really can't go wrong with anything here unless there's some flavor that isn't your usual like cheesefoam (this is an acquired taste), yogurt, etc. I've always loved the Grapefruit Mango with Sago when I first discovered it in SGV about 2 decades ago, then most recently at HLS over at Sawtelle; both long drives with heavy traffic so you know I'm hyped that Mellow Tea Studio is local & serves this fav!! BONUS TIP: MTS uses champagne mangoes -- loads of it!!! Whoohoo! =) The menu price points are mostly comparable with the competition with the exception of their Signature & Fruit Feast drinks, which may seem pricey but you have to understand that MTS uses "fresh" fruits & are quite generous with it. I can't think of any local shop that compares/competes with their menu & executes every drink consistently. Yong (owner) is usually at helm when when we visit & it's friendly service with a smile; we also see Vivian quite often, who is fast & efficient. These drinks take time because they're made to order & loaded with fresh fruits; I often see a fresh fruit drop-off when I'm here. I/we love Mellow Tea Studio! Stopped by here the other night and was glad there was a boba shop near by that closed later! (10pm on a Saturday night). If you aren't actively looking while driving by you might miss it and the parking structure just be mindful of that as well. But anyways, I ordered the cantaloupe feast (milk base) with boba and I really enjoyed it. I came on a Tuesday evening around 6pm and there were a few other customers. They have a variety of seating (table and chairs, bench, couch seating, etc). There's outlets for you to charge your electronics. There's free parking in the parking garage and plenty of street parking nearby. The area is so cute and nice. The cafe itself is extremely comfy, cute, and they play GREAT music. The workers are friendly. And the drinks a DELICIOUS. I got the mango coconut w/ sago and it was so yummy. I got it 50% sweet and no ice and it was PERFECT. The drink was just under $7 and it was one of the best I've had. So so good. I will be back. read more
