I stopped at Mellow Mushroom (Uptown) as a dinner pit stop during a late-night bike ride with my kids. We split a Pacific Rim pizza (their red sauce, mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, pineapple, and jalapeños) but we skipped the onions and jalapeños for the kiddos sake. Even without those toppings, it was an easy 12 out of 10. I've eaten a ridiculous amount of pizza in my life and I've never come across whatever magic Mellow Mushroom puts in their crust. It's somehow the best part of the whole thing and I'm convinced I'd still crush every slice if they swapped the toppings for nuts and bolts. As long as that crust recipe never changes, they'll always be a top pizza spot in my book. And one last note... the ranch is next-level. It's outrageously good. They charge for it, which feels borderline illegal, but honestly it's worth every penny. read more

Oof, I should have taken a pic of the cheese pull, especially considering that there were SEVERAL occasions I could've, considering the cheese was fresh n hot. Waiter was a nice guy, but could've been better at prioritizing. What I mean is, food came out, we had no utensils. Had to call him over when he was on his walk to check on another table for utensils, but told us to wait. Don't mind waiting but would you grab utensils for a table that's waiting to eat their food or check on a table that's already dining? Subjective I suppose, but wasn't a fan personally. Our lovely server, Benji, along with the rest of the staff were amazing - so kind and personable. While there was a wait for a table, the hostess let us know that the bar was first come first serve and we could get food there and take it outside if we wanted a table (it was a breezy day, no one was sitting out there). 2 stars - problems with online order, scanty toppings on pizzas. Ordered online from their website for pickup. We were given an estimated pickup time of 40 minutes. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told there was no record of the online order. Eventually the manager had to come over and was able to "find" the order in the online system. At that point, they made the food, so on the positive side it was hot and fresh when it came out. We have visited other mellow mushroom locations before and like the food but the pizzas here were a lot lighter on toppings than we are used to seeing. One of the employees was also vaping inside the restaurant. Like yes this is mellow mushroom, but it's a poor version of it. This location could use some work. read more

We called ahead to see if Mellow would put pickles on a pizza for us because my husband has been wanting to try pickle pizza for a while now. Josh the store manager was very accommodating and happy to support our request. He even notified the staff that we would be coming in to the store with our request. Our server Max was amazing, they were very attentive, conversational, and made us feel welcome. The service they provided was top notch. There was also another server who we unfortunately did not get their name, but complimented my husband on his anime shirt, and they talked to my husband about anime for a little bit. The staff really made us feel like we were an enjoyable part of their day. The ambiance was great, it was a chill Sunday afternoon, which we really liked. Very disappointed the food was just ok the restaurant itself was extremely cold, very uncomfortable dining atmosphere. Kyle was ok with service, we didn't get our waters ordered. The steak calzone needed a cheese balance not enough cheese for the steak inside and the build your own was all cheese. The calzones were ok they might have been better if we could have eaten more than a couple of bites before it was cold and leftovers. I was eating solo and I felt extremely comfortable and was checked up on often and was apologized to when my food was taking a little long (which I hadn't noticed because I was very content). The Cesar salad had a great flavor and the Funky Q Chicken pizza had a great BBQ sauce. It was very calm inside the restaurant and the decor was so fun and almost 80s-esq.
