I haven't been here in well over a decade... but recently, I returned to dine with a large group. Had no idea, but they had a nice, private room (wine cellar room?) downstairs. This room was somewhat connected to this downstairs bar-reception area...and there, I started with this incredibly good, notably strong drink, VIP Martini! I can't even remember drinking a martini THIS strong...so strong that my experience here was a bit fuzzy. I only had 2 of these VIP Martinis...yet it felt as if I had about half a dozen. Just WOW. Anyway, for the meal, I had this generous Strip Steak, which came with Crabmeat on top. The steak was delicious, but incredibly rare. I asked for Medium-Well, but I easily got Rare...all-red meat. I wasn't going to complain in a group, so I just ate it raw. Again, it was delicious...but if I wasn't so intoxicated, I might not have liked it as much. My husband asked for Medium-Rare, and got Rare as well. From looking around our table, looked as if everyone got Rare. Also, our meal came with Bread Rolls, Salad, and shared Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Bread Rolls were SO good...and the Mashed Potatoes were also really good, but the server just gave us all a tiny scoop (a little more than a spoonful??). Then the desserts! I chose this Strawberry Cheesecake...and it was nicely presented, and equally delicious. My husbands' choice, this Chocolate Mousse type creation, looked even better! I must mention, however, that these desserts were the best in presentation...the presentation of our entrees were quite messy...surprisingly slack? Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the foods (and even more for me, the drinks!). If we actually received our requested type of meats, and possibly a bit more of the sides, I might have been a tad more impressed? My husband and I vowed to return to try a more intimate dining in the future. We've been to Del Frisco's twice now, and unfortunately the second visit didn't live up to the first. We sat at the bar this time. The tuna tartare was good, but from there it went downhill. The dynamite shrimp wasn't hot -- barely warmer than room temperature. The Caesar salad was really disappointing (photo attached): almost no dressing, very little cheese, and no fresh cracked pepper offered. It honestly looked unfinished. The corn was lukewarm, and our $75 NY strip came out warm instead of hot. The only thing that was actually hot all night was the bread -- and that didn't arrive until after we were done with our steak. We had an absolutely amazing dinner here for my first time visiting Del Frisco's! Upon arrival, we were led down to one of the private rooms in the wine cellar. The bartenders welcomed us with cocktails. We started off with a delicious variety of appetizers, including caviar and burrata, oysters, bacon, and crab cakes, as well as house special salad. The bread was soft and fluffy and dipped in butter. I tried the rib eye and the lobster tail, both of which were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The side dishes including creamed spinach, asparagus, and mashed potatoes were great accompaniments. The chocolate mouse for dessert was a light touch to the end of the meal. It has taken 2 years from me to go back to Del Frisco's. The reason for this is that during the previous two visits, I found the food to be subpar, the service to be mediocre and the whole environment pretentious and overpriced. However, with the reassurance of one of my best friends, we gave it another shot, for a business meeting. Unfortunately, the undefendable depth to which this restaurant has plunged was unexpected and a ruin to our evening. The ribeye my associate ordered came out perfectly cooked but cold. The ribeye I had ordered was severely overcooked and also cold. Given that we had already been waiting an hour since our salads, I asked that my steak be recooked and wrapped as I had to go. My associate was not offered any solution by the waiter for his cold ribeye. Following this request, and having waited an additional 30+ minutes, after everyone else had finished their meals, I reached out to one of the passing waiters and asked if they had made any progress on re-cooking my steak, prepping my to-go meal or taking care of my associates cold steak. Within 5 minutes, the same waiter came back and, without a word, presented me with a bag that contained a single ribeye in a container, but none of the sides, nor the desert that had been ordered. I asked if it would be possible that they wrap up the sides and include them with my dinner. Then, out of nowhere, I was scolded buy a nearby waitress that they were "very busy serving others". That alone left me taken back but that same waiter then went on to state that my demanding food to go was "extremely rude"and that she "did not appreciate my being rude to her waiter". I could not have been more taken back, too surprised to even immediately respond. Thankfully, before I could even question what she was referring to, my associate appropriately stated that we were nothing but polite and patient despite the fact that the service and food was horrific and the wait staffs attitude was deplorable and unprofessional. Although we ultimately decided that the better part of valor would be to let it go and just never return to Del Frisco, I guess I was hoping for some type of exclamation of what transpired. You know, a horrible day in the restaurant, a loss of someone close to the wait staff, being severely understaffed... However the manager really was quite unimpressed or for that matter, the least bit surprised when I recanted our experience with the poor food, service, and overt hostility. The manager, Sean or Seth(?), dismissively stated that he "would look into it "and wished me a patronizing "good reminder of my day". Well that was my hat trick at Del Frisco's. Overpriced poor food, poor service and staff attitudes that really should have no role in a service industry, let alone a restaurant. Note - Had to give one star so the app would register. Our server was MIA most of the night, randomly popping up and hard to find him. Our drink order was put in at the same time as apps and food came out before the drinks did. Waters weren't refilled once the entire time we were there, we had to ask another server for water refill after being there for 1.5 hours. I ordered an 8oz filet medium-rare. They overcooked it to medium-well, more on the well side completely brown inside. I never send food back, but if we are paying $68 for a filet, it should be cooked to order. Once they brought out a medium-rare steak, it was perfect. Seasoned perfectly. The best dish we had was the tomato burrata salad. Lobster mac and cheese had tons of lobster but was way too salty. Creamed spinach we barely touched because it was so so salty. Whipped potatoes and broccolini were standard, tasty. Nothing special with oyster Rockefeller Dark and moody inside, the way a steakhouse should be. The women's bathrooms were lacking. 2 stalls and half a roll of toilet paper in the whole bathroom. You wouldn't think you would have to share a roll of toilet paper with the other stall at a high end restaurant! I honestly expected a better experience from the reputation this place has. I am a huge foodie and probably wouldn't come back based on this experience. read more

We came here for dinner and had an amazing experience!! We had a group of 6 and immediately were waited on with waters and drinks. The espresso martini was so rich and delicious I loved the hint of hazelnut. We started with shrimp, bacon, and crank cakes. The crab cakes were so fantastic with big chunks and minimal breading. I loved the sauce and the onions inside. The bread was sooo much better than we expected. It was hard not to eat the entire pan! Our waiter was so helpful and checking on us regularly. I loved the ambience of a nice steakhouse. I also got the wedge salad but with avocado dressing and it was truly some of the best dressing I've ever had. I want to drink it! Then we got steaks and a bunch of sides. My favorite was the creamed spinach and creamed corn. Everything was so flavorful I really had no complaints. For dessert I was so happy I got the warm butter cake. I wanted to order 5 more and take it home! I 100% will come back here and probably order all the same things. I was pleased that valet was an option because my heels would only allow me to walk in and make it to the table. Our reservation was for 7:30 PM but to my surprise their was a hefty wait time. More people than I expected decided to ditch the pots and pans plus clean up and dine out. Once we were seated we were greeted by Sasha who is absolutely amazing. I don't know how other servers make money with him around. He is a walking menu, witty, and full of charm. He helped us choose our appetizers and entrees. The star of the night was a tomahawk steak that my daughter ordered. It was massive and practically melted in our mouths. I ordered Sea Bass and we had crab cakes, ahi tuna, asparagus, creamed spinach, and potatoes. I had an old fashion that was delish and my daughter had a holiday cocktail. I don't care if this is a chain. This is one of the top destinations in the city for a special night out and I'll stand by that! I came in recently with my girlfriend for an anniversary dinner and from the service to the drinks to the food everything was top notch! They are located in the Piedmont Town Center which is a charming shopping center in South Park. They are located right on the circle and there is plenty of parking nearby both on the street and in the parking garages. One of the first things you notice when you walk in is the grand staircase that leads to their mezzanine level. When we walked in the place was crowded and lively with an elegant atmosphere while there were two artists playing some live music setting a great mood. They have a large bar downstairs, and a separate bar upstairs, making the upstairs area a great place to throw private parties and events. They have an impressive cocktail list, and I ordered the Jailbird which is a delicious mix of bourbon, pineapple juice, and vanilla syrup. It was very refreshing and just the right amount of booze to taste good but still give a decent buzz. We ordered the 8 oz filet and the 16 oz prime rib and both of us agreed that our steaks were cooked exactly how we wanted. Both were seasoned to perfection, and as an added bonus I got the truffle butter on my steak. It was decadent and flavorful and really took my steak to the next level. This is a high end steakhouse so be prepared to spend some money, but that being said the prices are reasonable and even affordable compared to some other steakhouses in the area. Chains aren't always fashionable, but considering they only have a handful of locations in some of the biggest cities in the country, Charlotte residents should feel grateful that our city is able to attract top of the line restaurant chains to go along with the local spots adding to our great restaurant scene. I came here for our anniversary dinner and loved everything about this place! The restaurant feels like a typical steakhouse with moody lighting and a fancier ambiance. To start, we got the Shanghai-Style Fried Calamari which was amazing and I love calamari in general. The few times I've had the pleasure of dining at del frescos have been nothing short of excellent. The food always speaks for itself, it's not cheap, for good reason. We started with an assortment of apps: First, the meatballs were wonderfully prepared, ground wagyu and perfectly tender yet held together well. Second, the cooked thick cut bacon app was a hit as always, a great peppery crust with a nice Smokey flavor. Third, the oysters were some of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Then everybody at the table besides my wife and I had the lobster bisque, you could actually see huge pieces of claw meat, a rare occurrence when ordering lobster bisque at any other restaurant! I had the blue cheese wedge and, once again it's another item that happens to be one of the best I've ever had in its own category. My dry aged steak was so rich flavorful and beefy, and the Oscar's style topping was the perfect pairing. Butter cake did not disappoint. Neither did the lemon cake or cappuccino. My only complaint is that the salads and soup came out before the apps which is not normal and we were told the kitchen was backed up. Lastly we had $100 in laundry's rewards point and bc their computer was "glitching" they told us they couldn't use our rewards gift card which was about to expire in 2 days. I decided to go with their restaurant week menu because of the 8oz filet on it. I started off with their honey butter glazed bread, this was INSANE! I had to stop myself from eating it and ruining my appetite! Their Caesar salad was large and the croutons were not at all stale, a light crunch that was perfect! The steak was as good as I've had. C'mon Del Frisco's! Still holding on after all these years and a pandemic! Normally I'd get the filet or salmon, but last night I switched it up and tried the Chilean Sea Bass. So glad I did. It's decidedly Asian in flavor and comes with crab fried rice. Flaky and mild with just enough soy sauce to give it a punch. That lobster mac is not to be missed either. Creamy, cheesy and good amount of lobster. Unfortunately, they changed the bread service from the warm sesame loaf to a sweet glazed roll situation which no one asked for. But oh well. We also got the butter cake with caramel and ice cream but had to take it home, so no pic. Finally. I made it to Del Frisco's. I've heard a many great things, but someone should have done a better job conveying just how amazing this restaurant is. For the last decade or more, 131 Main has been my favorite restaurant. But. Whew. Dare I say... I made reservations for three to celebrate my nephew's 12th birthday. Yes, he's a young foodie with a sophisticated palate. We were seated right away. The restaurant is beautiful, the ambience is upscale but not stuffy, and their live music enhanced the atmosphere. We started with a few appetizers. The Dynamite Shrimp and Del's Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Cajun-lobster cream sauce. Both were winners. The crab cake was savored and devoured so quickly, we didn't even take a picture of it. Also, the honey butter bread that came before the apps was easily the best 'started' bread I've tasted from any restaurant. If you're watching your carbs, try not to even look at the bread, let alone smell or taste it. The pan-seared salmon, filet mignon, broccolini, and lobster mac & cheese were heaven. All of it. I loved the size of the butter cake, as well as its deliciousness. Our server, D, was one of the nicest and most sincere waitresses we've ever had. Humble, knowledgeable, helpful, and charming. The cons - they seemed to only have one server upstairs so by the time the restaurant got busier, she seemed overwhelmed and the pacing of our meal was thrown off.
