    Pizza slice

If you are looking for a big slice of pizza and are in southend, this is the place to go. This small take our spot which also has some seating inside is perfect in between brewery hopping or after a night of drinking. Service is pretty quick, so you'll be in and out super fast and won't go anywhere hungry. I've had it several times and try to get a different pizza slice everytime. You can also order the entire Pie, best for a big group. If you look at the picture you can see you'll need 2 plates to hold the entire slice.

Needed a quick bite before calling it a night and Pie.ZAA is open late. Went with the cheese slice and it was delicious. Their one slice is perfectly filling for one person. The pizza is thin, crispy dough and not heavy on the sauce. The wait was less and 5 minutes!

Delicious jumbo slice pizza. Came in for a late night bite around 12:30am and they were on their last few slices for the night. There was a crowd coming so it was great we came when we did. I'm not sure of the other menu items, but I did see some huge cookies. There are a few tables and bar style seating around. I liked the minimal decor and consistent branding.

Hectic Friday night after the Dukes May Classic. This pizza place is really cool. They sell very large pizza slices--seemed like four types: cheese, sausage, vegi, and I don't remember the fourth princely, but probably an everything type. Bill and I each got a cheese slice and bottled water to go. Since the slices are so big (2-3 times regular size), we ate a quarter of our slice there and the rest down the street. The slice reminds me of slices at pizza stands at New York and Newark Penn Station. We really enjoyed them. The restaurant also reminded me of the pizza restaurant on the concourse at Penn Station New York. Mostly display cases, pizza ovens, cash registers and small tables and counters to sit at. Worth checking out!

I highly recommend! Who doesn't love a huge slice of pizza? Reasonably priced for a slice and unique toppings. This visit I enjoyed the veggie slice. Since it was a nice spring day, I was able to sit and enjoy the open view in the restaurant. This location is tucked nicely in the south end area and great to visit with friends or solo. I hope you enjoy a slice as much as I did!

I'll start by saying this was the best pizza I've ever had! I went in on a Saturday afternoon and of course, it was busy. I wouldn't expect anything different. We ordered and received our food about 10 minutes after. There are chairs to sit and eat inside as well. The pizza, amazing!! There was flavor in every bite. I got a cup of ranch and it tastes homemade. Another 10! This place is on my must stops list when I visit Charlotte!

I've been to Italy ok. I know things. This is regualr/mid/basic, but it's not priced accordingly. So my issue with PIE.ZAA is layered, unlike their pizza. Location: This one is tricky, because the area is great but that specific location is a revolving door of former tenants. I'm not sure if it's the awkward placement of that particular street, or the street parking etc. Being in South End is a gift and a curse, you'll have endless foot traffic, but you also have to compete with numerous restaurants, bars and breweries. Customer service: Everyone seemed nice, it wasn't a stand out experience and it wasn't awful. I was greeted and not much else, my standards are very low since the pandemic so not being rude or ignored is enough for me. If you try to call the number listed, you get an automated AI bot and no one ever answers the phone. They will even force a link to your phone without permissions. Food: I ordered the quintessential slice to rule them all, a standard pepperoni. They are serving larger slices, and thats fine but thats where they stopped. The pizza is incredibly generic and dry, rather sauce less (I'll get back to that). I'd rather have a standard sized slice, that is incredible than something larger and forgettable. The crust is standard thin slice, with a decent amount of pepperonis to cover the pizza. The issue comes back to taste, it's generic. The pepperonis, as many as there are can't save basic cheese on bread. I think the dagger that really killed the experience for me was the price compared to the quality. My total pre tip was $7.22 for a plain jane pepperoni slice. So add in a tip of $1.00, and don't forget the marinara sauce you'll need for this dry triangle, $1.00 for a small cup of pizza sauce (ridiculous). To make this even more accurate while typing this review, I order a pepperoni slice online. The price is even higher ($7.99), so maybe I got a lunch special, I was never made aware of that by the staff. So the total if you wanted to order a single pepperoni slice online, and walk in right now is....$10.29 (with a 15% tip as standard on the site, remove it and you'll still at $10.00 before your sauce). Absolutely. Not. Current event: As I'm writing this JJ Red Hots is closing its doors. Go to any of the comments in Reddit/axios etc post and the sentiment is $9.00 hot dogs, or $16.00 combos are not sustainable . I don't root for businesses to close down, but I am indifferent about those who look at the current landscape and don't plan accordingly. The "business owner" is a bad representation, (or a good one since the product is also terrible ) for PIE.ZAA. The bitter mean spirited responses will be what people toast to, when this location is replaced with a donut brewery Mexican cantina. Unfortunately of course. Pro tip: SKIP! There are far too many eateries in the area to waste your time here. Maybe they'll revamp, I'd love to update this with a much more positive experience. They are also cashless, everyone doesn't abide by that way of living. It would be helpful for them to add it on their bio/about's on Google/Yelp.

    Monthly Peach Pizza (August 2025)

I was excited to be in the area and see their monthly special. The peach, goat cheese, bacon, garlic combination sounded very enticing. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. It was clean and inviting. I was assisted right away. The team member warmed up my pizza and served it with a smile. I was appalled when I got to my car and saw the pizza! It was burnt. The crust although tasty was hard to chew. My mouth actually was tired after trying to finish. I don't know if I'll return anytime soon.

Again, $10 huge slice with water. It's budget friendly and surprisingly good for Charlotte! Service is fast and seating is "sit, eat, leave hardwood."

Pie zaa was a pretty good slice for a pretty good price. The pizza box is a nice touch and the signage inside is quite entertaining. There was a line but it moved pretty fast. Our slice was huge and very very delicious. I would recommend and am looking forward to going back on my next trip.

    Haha!

I had the most delicious slice of cheese pizza. Kayla is a shining light....friendly, sweet and kind! She is definitely a huge asset to Pie.Zaa Charlotte! Highly recommend!!

I arrived here around 11:15pm on a Saturday night and it was packed!! I was going to place an online order but the wait time was longer. I realized that the online prices and in store prices are different.. I asked cashier why the prices are different if you order online and he didn't know. He said it was a question for the owner. Cashier told another person that he Ranch is houses made. I don't eat ranch, so I didn't try it. While waiting, I noticed that they make the pizzas and just reheat them to order. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza; it was large and tasty, especially since I was so hungry! It took about 20 minutes to get through the line and receive my order. For a late night snack, it did its job! They do have snacks such as cookies but they were pricey, in my opinion. They also sale canned beer/alcoholic drinks.

    Sam B.

$6-$7 a slice even at that size felt like a bit of a scam. The ingredients did not taste super fresh or high quality. The cheese was fine but the sauce was very bland. The crust was chewier than I like but that could be personal preference. I think it'd be better for that price point to have a normal sized slice with higher quality ingredients. Lastly, the box was cool but it felt gimmicky overall. 2.2/5

Very clearly the best late night pizza option in Charlotte. May just be the absolute best pizza…read moreoption period. We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

Even in a food hall with a dozen restaurants, you can smell the basil and the garlic from the moment you walk through the door. The staff was friendly and polite. I went with the large round cheese pie and came away incredibly impressed. The crust was crispy on the bottom and soft and chewy in the center. The cheese had just the perfect amount of pull to it and the sauce was vibrant and flavorful. The pie came out hot and fresh after about 10 minutes or so. I shared the pie with my group of New York City pizza snobs and everyone came away impressed. Long story short, if you're in Charlotte for work or even if you're a local, Geno D's stands up with the quality pizza joints in New York City. Excellent pizza aside, the staff was fantastic. There was a bit of a weird incident when my pizza came out and the staff could not have possibly handled things any better. While putting my fixings on the pie as any God-fearing pizza enthusiast should, I noticed there was no garlic powder and informed the staff. They apologized then told me someone probably brought it to their table and they'd go retrieve it for me. Turns out someone did bring the garlic to their table. No biggie, right? Except that when the staff member asked to have the garlic back so another customers could use it, he refused. Instead, he went on a bizarre diatribe with the staff member about why he didn't want to give it back. After listening politely, the staff member told him that my pizza was getting cold, then brought me the garlic. Turns out this rude guy claimed to be a food influencer who was incensed the garlic was taken away to be used by another paying customer. The rude garlic lover was about 4'10 wearing lumberjack plaid and he threatened to give them a bad review and urge his alleged 8 million followers not to patronize their establishment. Putting his obvious lack of pizza etiquette aside, this is simply a staggering display of bad form. It's also petty, especially when he was obviously in the wrong. Anyways, go to Geno D's, a pizza joint that even New York City pizza snobs will love. And if for any reason you see a diminutive dude hoarding the garlic powder, for the love of everything holy, DO NOT disturb him! We wouldn't want him to cause any problems for local businesses.

Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.

Yes, I just snuck downstairs to snag some leftovers So, I have a huge event planned at NJC Jay St 5/2 and decided to go check out the venue and parking sitch. It was around dinner time and we looked for some place, in the area, to eat. We decided on Pizza Baby . As usual, we sit at the bar and though they don't have a huge IPA selection, they did have a fav. Although the Blanco looked appealing, we are meat peeps and go for the Starsky. Notes: Be prepared to wait. I am usually a 30-min max, and then I'm out person, but the decor, vibe and music was so chill in here that I was just enjoying it (one couple even bought a deck of cards, as they were used to the wait). Also, Alia one-manning the bar and making each customer feel like the only customer was an added touch. Out comes the pizza... Alia asks if we wanted ranch dressing. This is where I looked at her 3 heads and asked "who eats ranch with pizza???" but since she said it is house made, I asked to taste it. Best decision I've ever made (sorry Blanton, but dating you was an afterthought...). This pizza was crispy where it needed crisp. It was cheesy, meaty and saucy in all the right places. I could not stop raving about the restaurant and Alia, so she decided to bring the owner, Steven out to meet us. What a darling! Humble, personable, charming and, all around, one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
