Despite all of the issues in our current climate, we had a wonderful experience here. Did we have to wait just a bit? Yes. Was our waitress a little rushed? Yes. But it was all fine and we were not inconvenienced at all. The food was delicious, the service was precise and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The salad portions are generous, the pretzel bites are delicious and if we didn't live so far away, we would've gotten an order To Go! Pizzas were great and came out hot! I was appreciative of the "mocktails" on the menu, as I don't drink. It was nice to have a beverage choice that was more interesting than a plain Coke, tea, or water. read more

Messed up my order and they allow non-service dogs into the main dining room. Ordered 10 wings. They brought 5 of the wrong flavor. Then they brought 5 more of the right flavor We weren't able to finish our pizzas and calzones, so we asked for boxes. Believe it or not. This is the third time I've come here. I love their pizza and I was really disappointed with my service and food. The waiter didn't offer any plates or napkins, Forgot our condiments, and Didn't offer any refills. We waited so long for our food for it to come out cold. The waiter offered to reheat ? Like who company reheats a pizza that was suppose to be made freshly ? And lastly didn't offer any discount. I'm so upset about this and definitely won't ever dine in again. read more

One of the worst meals we've had in Aiken. We ordered a Margherita pizza, a cup of mushroom soup, and a beer. The pizza was terrible - barely any cheese, maybe a teaspoon of basil, and a cloying sweet tomato puree. We did not bother eating more than a few bites. The soup was pretty good (thus two stars). The service was especially terrible. 18 minutes after seating, we had to go find a waitress to take our drinks and food order. We never received our drinks. The pizza took a very long time to arrive, during which we only saw our waitress once, who merely passed by to apologize for the delays. Normally, I try not to write bad reviews - I prefer to talk to the manager directly and discretely instead of complaining online. However, there was no manager to be seen. read more

We ordered delivery tonight and ordered a medium pizza which was more like a small with only four pieces. The crust was very lackluster (pre-fab) and hard, ordered sausage, onions and mushrooms and there were very little of all three. We also ordered wings that were jerk spice which were OK but you get a choice of five or 10 wings and with the pizza being so small for almost $60 we will not be ordering again. The only saving grace was that GrubHub delivered pretty much on time. read more

Good food. Really horrible service. Both of which seem to be the norm here. Ordered online for takeout on a midweek night earlier than a typical dinner rush. The online app told me what time to get there. I did, and still had to wait quite a while, catching attitude from the front/hostess when I dared ask what was going on. She then asked the kitchen for the wrong person's order (I watched and listened to it) and then came and told me it was in the oven. It wasn't. It had been pulled and was sitting and waiting while her incompetence grew by the minute. Only the kitchen staff caught it. She then brought the food and said (lying) that it just came up. The pies were good. Kudos kitchen staff. The service was crap, as usual. Clearly ownership and management don't care to hire or train well. read more

My wife and I were seated immediately at 1:30 pm on a Sunday. We ordered an appetizer (Spinach Artichoke Dip), NOT AVAILABLE.. My wife ordered Diet coke, Salad w/ ranch dressing and a small pizza, I ordered water and the specialty dish (portobello mushroom). Waitress come with a diet coke explaining "that is the last diet coke and it may not taste correctly". She was correct, so my wife ordered a sprite when the waitress FINALLY SHOWED back up. My Mushroom arrived 15 minutes before my wife's food. Waitress informed my wife "they were OUT OF RANCH DRESSING for the salad", my wife asked "what are my other options". The waitress stated she did not know but she would be back with a menu. WE CANCELLED THE SALAD IMMEDIATELY. We asked the manager about 15 minutes later where our waitress and pizza may be. The manager showed back up with the pizza and said the waitress was in the restroom. We shared our 1 small pizza and left. We were offered no refills on our empty drinks. Papa John's pizza is so much better, their service is quicker and you get what you order and don't get up charged for things you didn't ask for, the service wasn't terrible but they should definitely write down what the customer asks for. And Papa John's pizza tastes so much better. read more

They really struggled on a Saturday night to manage operations. The food came out very randomly, like chicken wings an hour before salads, with a kids Mac and cheese and a small pizza taking 90 minutes. It was pretty much a disaster and a terrible dining experience. read more

Ordered online thinking that delivery would be available, but, turns out, you have to pick it up yourself. That should be more clearly notated on the website. My order was said to be ready at 1:10pm, so I headed over, and arrived right on time. My order wasn't ready, even though the place was practically empty (it was the day after Christmas). I stood there at the bar waiting another 10 minutes before I finally asked the bartender (who was apparently in charge of internet orders) if my order was ready or not, and he said he didn't know, because he hadn't had the chance to check on it yet. Yikes. Leaving a pickup order patron waiting an additional 15 minutes on top of their order's quoted time is just not good business. Especially when said patron isn't updated immediately upon the establishment figuring out that their order wasn't ready. Not the best service. The food: a medium Great White, an order of bruschetta, and a steak calzone. The pizza was a little cold and chewy, but everything else was okay. Mellow Mushroom never fails to make me happy. We like the traditional pepperoni pizza, as well as the pretzel bites, mighty meaty, and the great white pizzas. MY fave is the Great White. I LOVE this pizza. I don't care for onions much, so I have them "hold" the onions but add extra basil. You CANNOT go wrong with a meal at Mellow Mushroom. We usually do take out instead of dining in. Also, the pretzel bites are really good, they are more like a bread "dough" than a pretzel...and you have to dip them in the beer cheese, of course. One thing about Mellow Mushroom is they are consistently good. Call ahead, though, because good food takes time (for takeout expect 25 mins maybe less). read more

The absolute worst restaurant experience I have had in years. A reservation was made for 8:00 PM for a graduation party. The bar was shutting down and we were told if we wanted beverages we would need to order them all in advance. It took forever to even place an order, and the food came out 2 hours later. We were also told they were shutting the bathrooms down to clean for the night and if we were to fall it was on us they would not be responsible. At that point, we were informed the doors would be locking and if we needed to use the restroom we should go before they locked the doors. How can you close a restaurant down and people have none of the food they ordered?? If you guys were not able to take on customers at 8:00 on a Wednesday night then you should have informed us when the reservation was made, again a reservation was made we did not walk in off the street. My review isn't to bash the staff! They are put in a terrible position because of lack of management. We called a day before and told them we had a party of 10 for my daughters bday dinner. Management took a card number from us to ensure he had staff for our party so if we bailed we would be charged accordingly. We arrived at 630 as planned and noticed another party of 20 that I assume also called ahead of time based on the table setting. We were told immediately as we sat down that the kitchen was backed up. Looking around we understood but after 2.5 hrs we asked for an explanation and the manager said we had an unexpected "busy Monday". Two large tables called ahead so there is nothing unexpected about that. Felt terrible for our server because she was great with drinks and apologized over and over. Management took reservations and didn't manage accordingly causing us to get our food 3 hrs later after calling a day ahead for a reservation. Won't be back anytime soon! read more

Aiken has the WORST Mellow Mushroom EVER!!!! I've been multiple times and this is the second time in a row my order was forgotten. The first time the girl forgot to put our entire order in and we sat there for 2.5 hours. This time (not busy inside) we went in and got seated then it took ten minutes for our waitress to come introduce herself and get our drink orders. She then came back with drinks and got our appetizer order (which she never put in) we told her needed a few minutes with the actual order as we were still deciding. Another ten minutes later she finally came back for our order. Then we waited and waited and waited for our appetizer which never came. Finally a waiter came to our table and said she left since its shift change, said he would be taking over then asked if we were just waiting on our pizzas. We told him no we are still waiting on our appetizer, he said let me go check in it he came back said it was never ordered then asked if anyone else had a soft drink since we were charged for a soft drink for a water. Our pizza was incorrect but we were starving by this point so we ate it. It wasn't even hot either you could tell it had been sitting there for a while. Needless to say the waitress sucked and never even said she was leaving or turning us over to another server the server didn't know what was going on after she left and we sat there again for 1.5 hours!!!!!!! Virginia Beach's mellow mushroom doesn't suck. Evan's doesn't suck. Augusta's doesn't suck just the Aiken location. I will NEVER EVER DINE AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN, IT BEYOND SUCKS!!!! The service is definitely better at the bar. Had a great time socializing with the staff and other patrons as well as listening to the live entertainment. My Moscow Mule needed some more authenticity for the $8 price tag, but it was ok. I just wanted something light to eat so the bartender suggested the stuffed portobellos. A great decision! They were stuffed with spinach and cheese with a balsamic drizzle on a bed of mixed greens. I threw a dash of crushed red peppers on top and they were perfect. If I would have had any bread, the remnants on the plate would have disappeared. This is a hot new spot so I'm sure I'll be back. I'll definitely request the bar area. read more

This new Mellow Mushroom looks beautiful! They have outdoor seating (with heat), a bar, and a dining area. Perfect location in downtown Aiken as well. For the first time going to this new location, I had a pretty good experience. When my family and I walked in, we were greeted by a large host of waiters and waitresses at the front. Since this place is less than a few days old, they're still doing a lot of training and hence the large number of staff. We were first seated outside which made us a bit hesitant because it was so cold. However, when we got out there and sat down at a table in the middle, we realized that it was actually quite warm under the heaters. The waitress quickly took our drink order and told us that all the food was on the house for the day which made us very happy. It took awhile for our drinks to come out and we found out that the soda machine was broken, but we were able to get Coke from the bar instead which worked just as well. For the number of people who were at the restaurant, the food came out relatively quickly and it was still warm. I had the Italian hoagie and some hummus which were both pretty standard tasting for Mellow Mushroom. Not my favorite, but not bad either. Overall, the service was decent for opening week, the food was warm and free, and the manager even came over to see how we were doing. The new location is wonderful compared to some of the older ones and I think this place will be great to revisit in the summer time. read more

The atmosphere was cool. But the service was least than great! We all ordered the exact same cocktail "peach buzz" that came out wrong.. without the peach. No biggie. They corrected the problem ... cool. BUT THEN My cousin ordered tator tots which came after the pizza! My small pizza was made wrong which meant I had to wait longer for my food. Best Mellow Mushroom I've ever eaten at! My wife and I split hummus, a lil Caesar salad, and a small Mellowterranean pizza. We also both had Pumpking Ale that blew our minds. It was incredible! - Timing and spacing of each course was perfect. - Portions were large enough for 2 of us to easily split and have some left over (well, we kept eating - it was too good to stop!) - Over 30 beers on tap! With something like 5 or 6 continually rotating taps. - Great location and rad decor. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Ashley was our server and smashed it. Ultra friendly and talkative (but didn't hover). She had great beer knowledge as well and was happy to answer all of our questions. Even though we're closer to the downtown Augusta location - we'll be making the drive to Aiken more often just to come back here. read more
