It was my first time hearing about Meijer and that's only because I was at a local flower shop.. But Meijer is like the target/walmart of indiana IMO that is. Parking is not a problem, they have a HUGE parking lot. The staff are helpful and it is reasonably priced. read more

I ordered online and had a 20.00 coupon and when I placed my order I got the money off but when I went to pick up my order no one would answer the phone, so I saw a young man bringing out someone order I told him I had a order and no one will answer the phone, so he went to get my order and went he came out with my order he said we have a new girl and she told him that someone told her to not answer the phone when it rings. Then on my order I had no substitutes but they did give me other brands which cost triple and they deleted my 20.00 coupon. Meijer is the worst and I am never ordering online again. Every time I ordered online there is always a problem. I get online orders from Wal-Mart and never had a problem read more

Walking into this store was like entering the Twilight Zone. While trying to use a Meijer gift card, the clerk engaged with us with a putrid attitude. Rudely dismissive and foul mouthing us. In the same time line witnessed another patron asking for help from someone wearing Meijer branded apparel. They were told " I'm on the phone" don't bother me. Welcome to the Oligarchy! read more

It used to be a great grocery store to go to , but then Walmart across the street closed. Then the riff raff from Walmart started going to Meijer. Theft went up which then they had to get security cameras put up in parking lot and extra security in store. Twice within a month I saw people stealing. First time some thug walking out with his arms full of beer and liquor. Second time two carts full of groceries and toys. Just walking right out like it's what they were supposed to do. It's probably why Walmart had to close. Theft. Meijer is now dirtier than it used to be. It's never stocked well. The produce department is sub par. And there's just loud and obnoxious people all over. I will say that the lady that is in charge of self check out is great. The people at the deli counter are nice as well. read more

Self check out scanner over charged on two items. No way to get refund. There was no purchase quantity donuts and cereal, but self checkout charges for 3 if only buying one read more

The second week in a row that I have bought a watermelon that has completely caved in the second day after purchasing it. Completely mushy in the inside. Seems as if you're not rotating your produce. I'll go elsewhere to buy my produce. I also wrote another review with a picture that got taken down. read more

Meijer offers an extraordinary variety of products in their grocery store. They are my go to place for everything.

Never more than 2 checkout lanes open. Self check out always backed up. The self checkout computers frequently stop to accuse user of fraud. Fruit moldy and rotting and workers shrug it off. Sale items rarely stocked well. Two greeters at doors to further threaten customers read more

A year ago I found this leech in my bag of snow crab. Immediately I threw the crab away and contacted customer service. The store manager was very insulting and expected me to dig out the crab from the trash along with the leech and bring it in for it to be considered for a return. Customer service was a joke but after spending hours arguing with them, I decided it wasn't worth my time to continue trying to get my $20 back. Aside from feeling sick from pulling LEECHES out of my bag of food, I felt sick from the rage-inducing experience with customer service. Today I found Meijer's gas station charged me too much for the gasoline I pumped and were uncooperative helping me overturn the second charge. Their advice was to dispute the claim with my bank. I wish I could invoice Meijer for the time I wasted and the energy spent in pursuit of $40. You'd think $40 would be worth refunding to keep a customer... My advice: pick literally ANY OTHER Meijer. It's worth paying even a couple extra cents/gallon to not go through what I just went through. And make sure you hold onto your rotting fish meat so you can get refunded! read more

Meijer - Leech - Grocery Near Me - South Bend, Indiana

All Meijer stores are so terrible about their sale prices. I'm so tired of trying to purchase a sale item that doesn't ring up at the correct price. The cashiers are typically no help and I'm absolutely not going to spend my time going to customer service, so I always end up just putting the items back. I've been told I should take a pic of the sale sign, but it shouldn't be on me to prove the price that they're advertising. I'll just go elsewhere. read more

Love Meijers great store some great prices excellent selections. Clean store I shop there three times a year.

I always liked the cashiers at meijers because they are all professional and polite but Aria on cash register 29 at the Portage store 2/14 at 6:30pm took it up a notch, she was so pleasant and engaging she made a chore into a really nice experience!!!!! read more

September 13, 2024 11:45 am. Couldn't get the clerk watching the self checkout to come and give us help when the machine wouldn't allow us to pay for our groceries. She kept going over to other red lit machines that had come on after us. She even went to the side and started talking to a customer on the other side of the barrier. Finally, she headed our way but veered off and then helped someone on the across from me. After that, she turned to walk away even though I motioned to her that I needed help. Totally ignored me and walked in the opposite direction. I yelled as loud as I could that I needed help. She still ignored me. At that point I was considering leaving all my bagged groceries and going across the street to the Walmart when a short woman approached from the opposite direction. I thought she was another clerk coming to help. Oh no. She said she was a manger and didn't appreciate me "yelling" at her employee. I told her I wouldn't have had to yell. "Hey lady, I need help here" if she hadn't kept avoiding us. Do you think she would have asked me first if there was a problem or if she could help me? No. All she kept saying was that "yelled" at her worker and she didn't appreciate it and didn't want it to happen again. I told her it wouldn't have happened the first time if the woman wouldn't socialize and put red lights in the wrong priority only doing the ones closest to her. She didn't care about any of that. She kept harping on me about raising my voice, which I had to do because it was crowded, noisy and the woman had turned her back on me once again and was walking away. Her focus should have been to help me, give the woman some help since she was incapable of tracking the proper sequence of red lights or giving the employee some kind off remedial training or a talking to. Everything was backwards and I was the villain not the injured party. Somehow my machine started working properly out of the blue and I was able to complete my purchase and leave. Thank God. I have used this Meijers before when in that area, but no more. read more

Twice in the last 2 weeks I have stood in front of the deli case waiting to place my order and the same woman working behind the counter has totally ignored me. Awful and gross! Just purchased pork sausage and it was full of worms and eggs! I tried to call them but got put on hold with music 3times! So I'm calling the South Bend Tribune in morning....not confident Meijers is going to do anything to protect people! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service at the pharmacy. Where did they find these people? They lack manners and social skills. Scares me!

We ordered a birthday cake a full week ahead of time and when we went to pick it up it wasn't even baked yet! Our receipt clearly said what kind of cake we wanted but the bakery claimed they had no details. They also claimed they tried to call but no one ever called here. My son is autistic, his cake has to be a certain way! We took a shelf cake. I have low expectations on how this is gonna come out. Highly,HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! Will never get a cake there again. Be ready to wait if you have a large cart full. Of 19 checkouts, only two were open. Self checkout great for smaller carts full.

I rarely shop at this Meijer, and when I do it is usually just running in to get something while my son is at ball practice. I am giving it 4 stars because they have a pretty nicely stocked sporting goods department. In particular the Fishing Gear is well appointed and the displays are always faced and stocked well. It is sad that I have to shop for fishing gear in a grocery store...but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm looking at you, Dicks. This is the second best Steelhead fishery on the planet and you carry bupkiss for gear. NO APPROVAL!! read more

I don't know what is going on at Meijer, but the last two times I went to purchase something. There were not enough cashiers and the lines were near the rear of the store. Surly employees, long waits but always convenient and good prices. So far in 2019, each time I go to this Meijer, I noticed that the customer service was not good at all. The employees either don't want to help or do not have product knowledge to help the customer. Management really needs to step up and help their employees read more

Sadly I have to give them 1 star. For years I've been coming here with little to no problems, nothing to complain about. But they have remodeled and have removed the no limit self checkout lanes. Of course they haven't staffed more lanes. That's a loss of 4 lanes. The lines now are just ridiculous! I waited once and had thawed frozen items & warm cold items. I must now do my shopping elsewhere. Why would they do that? Who makes customers go away? read more

Well I love Meijer but there is this old lady that is really rude to us and I really do not like her but every time we go to Meijer and we try on something in the fitting rooms There is no one except her so yeah she's really rude so be careful with that old lady because she is really rude. read more

I have several patients who need to use Lactose free products. Lactaid cottage cheese is always needed. Seems however, the one tiny section where it is displayed, is always empty. No good asking the people working there if there is some in the back. They will not help. I love the store but some products really get depleted quickly apparently. Meijer's get an education about how many of us need this kind of product. There is always plenty of milk, but no cottage cheese, and it is a staple for many of us. You were out again today, and no one would look in the back. I live 40 minutes away, it is not a quick trip just to see if you have stocked your shelves yet. No other grocery around carries it, I have checked. I am very disappointed in how this product is being carried. read more

This Meijer use to be fairly responsive to customer service but not anymore. Not sure why you build a store with 26 check out lanes when you only staff 50% at most. The only bright I spot was a new cashier Myra S, (I highly recommend she take her smile to a new employer). It appears Meijer thinks they only have to compete against WalMart across the street but with Martins remodeling their Portage store and their new store at a Western and Mayflower the grocery possibilities on the Westside are/have changed Been a faithful supporter but not sure if I will continue after this mornings debacle read more

What? Nobody has reviewed this yet?! The Shame South Bend. I thought I had but I guess it was the other location technically in Mishawaka. I was here very recently-- it brought back really great memories and how much I miss Meijer. It's like Wal-mart but not as trashy. I like the one stop shopping (except for clothes- I just can't unless someone barfed on me? and it's an emergency) The Fred Meyer of the midwest as I like to think of it. Pretty much always clean, they've got their act together here, it's cheap- I always end up with more than what I intended to buy but Indiana prices are so darn cheap! *Sigh, I love this location and I go down almost every aisle when I visit. Great kitchen and cookware department as always. I bought some cute little leaf bowls for dipping sauces perfect for my homemade dumplings. Until next time I'm in town Meijer, which is soon my friend. read more

With 23 checkout lanes and only 3 open. Every week I shop here and spend at least 15 minutes generally waiting. I hate to admit it, but I really like Meijer stores. They don't have the negative pall of Walmart, you know, the stuff they say about how they don't pay people all of their hours and stuff, plus, they are closer to my house. I like the fact that they mark down some bakery items and vegetables that are about to get overripe or stale.Martins throws the stuff out.And they are very much lower priced than Martins. Also, they sell live worms for fishing in the summer. I mainly shop here for food. read more
