When I moved from Schaumburg, the first thing that came to mind that I was going to have to make farther trip back out to Bloomingdale to shop at my Meijer. I was WRONG. I ended up finding this one on Meijer Drive (how cute is that?!) Their set-up was the same as the one in Bloomingdale so I had no problem maneuvering around the store. I felt at home since most of the Meijer's that I have attended usually have the same set-up. What I did notice that was different than the Meijer's in MI is that there is a US Bank located inside these Meijer's instead of a Chase Bank. I need both so it was a change that I didn't mind at all. The one thing I don't like about this location is that it's tucked away behind some major streets. I'm use to a Meijer being located near a strip that you can shop in (Marshalls, Best Buy, etc.) but this Meijer is just alone in the back. Again, Meijer is my first choice in many shopping choices (for food, clothes, home needs). I highly suggest everyone to try to go to this store and experience the convenience as well as the unbeatable prices that they offer. read more

Of all the Meijer's I've been to in Illinois, this is the second best one I've been to. It's fairly clean and there's lots of space to shop in. The produce is pretty good and there's a surprisingly large selection. The prices beat your local Jewel-Osco and Dominick's and the quality is about the same. It's definitely a place I'd return to. read more

Their produce selection is one of the few markets I've ever come across who carries some of the hardest fruits to find in the Midwest. Dragon fruits, passion fruits, star fruits, kiwano, yellow watermelon, etc. it's awesome!! And based on the season, they have a different selection every few months. I'm in heaven read more

Ive been shopping here for about 5 years. It's my main, go-to grocery store. Mainly because it is close to where I live, but if I weren't happy with them, I would drive further to go somewhere else. I usually use self- checkout. I really don't have any complaints about the employees that work the self checkout. They're helpful. I have no particular complaints about deli employees either, really. Pharmacy isn't great. They're slow to fill scripts, often don't have what I need on hand and have to order it so you have to wait a few days and sometimes make mistakes. Once, I filled a muscle relaxer and they either screwed up or ripped me off. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until months later bc I really didn't use it often, but I was supposed to be given 30 pills and I was only given about half of that, maybe. The pills are pretty large and they stuffed a low count of them into a very small bottle- I guess so I wouldn't notice I was short. Well, it worked-at least at first. REALLY not cool....it hasn't happened since, though. read more

The second I walked in the door I was greeted by not one but TWO workers! (That NEVER happens at Jewel Osco, in fact I can't remember if I was EVER greeted at a Jewel) After being Meijer starved from moving from Michigan to the city of Chicago it was so refreshing to find one near my office. I will be returning here for my groceries! read more

This is the only place since Black Forest has closed down that I've been able to get quality Spatzel noodles. And luckily, they're reasonably priced and in pretty big bags! The smaller noodles as well as the medium and larger noodles are sold here. This is probably the best part of this Meijer. It's the only one I've ever been to but in comparison to the many Costco's I've been to I'd say it's up there in terms of being a really well stocked and with a great variety of products, some of which you can only find at these super stores. I prefer Costco over Meijer, but Meijer over Sam's Club. This is a relatively new location (years old) but it's done great. If only I had been to other store locations I'd be able to compare, but if any of them happen to be bigger than THIS Meijer, that's just crazy. read more

My primary reason for this review is to recognize the very helpful, friendly and patient pharmacy staff. During the past couple weeks I went to get a couple different vaccinations and there were problems getting my insurance to approve the claim. Different staff spent a long time trying to resolve the issues - none of which were their fault. Note also that their price for such things as flu shots is significantly less than the others, like Walgreens. I had checked around previously and that's when I started going there. Otherwise, the store itself is huge which is reflected in the selection and large array of stock in all departments. Electronics, though, seem a little slim. They also have a real meat department staffed by real butchers. Prices at worst may be only slightly higher than the Walmart across the street and are often better, sometimes substantially. For groceries they are way better than places like Jewel. The place is always exceptionally clean and stock properly displayed and organized, not jumbled and ratty like other places nearby. They always have plenty of open check-out lines including a six-station self-checkout that I ordinarily use. I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes to check out, unlike other places (across the street) where the wait is always excruciating. And a big bonus for night creatures like me is that they are open 24 hours. I can go there at all kinds of weird hours - and have. read more

I usually love coming to this store, but since we moved further away, I haven't shopped there for awhile. I decided to stop in around 12 am on a Friday night to pick up a couple things. I didn't have a bad experience till I got to the checkout. They only had 2 of the long fast lane checkouts open, and 2 of the small ones. I couldn't use the long lanes because 1 was taken and the other had a huge floor cleaner machine blocking the till. I went to the 1st small checkout, and it was broken. Not a big deal, I used the last one available. I had grabbed some NyQuil because I am quite sick. I scanned it last, and the lady came up to me and just stood there. Didn't tell me what was going on, just stared me down until I had to ask what was the issue. She asked to see my ID for the NyQuil. So I got out my Alberta Canada drivers license, the only license I have. She blankly asked me where my ID was from ... I guess it's hard to see the big ALBERTA CANADA on top. She then asked rudely if I had any other form of ID. So I got out my permanent resident card, my US government issued ID which also has my photo, date of birth, etc. She then went on to ask why I didn't have any state ID or anything from IL. All she needed was my birth date to input into the computer .... I gave her both my ID's that had my birthday on them (on which shows I am 25 years old)!! At this time I was getting snappy because I was sick and tired, I wanted to go home and this was just ridiculous!! She continued to stare at both of my cards before finally deciding that I was OK to buy NyQuil for my cold, and let me go. I was disgusted by this ... I was treated as if no one from outside IL is allowed to buy cold medicine from Meijer. That was enough to make me never want to ever shop at this location again. I am a customer, not a crazy person feeding my NyQuil habit. read more

This market has turned out to be a gem for certain produce items and the occasional seafood item. I like to frequent this Meijer whenever I'm in the area shopping at Mitsuwa, Tensuke and Hana. They're a good spot to find ataulfo mangos 3/$1, and the lobsters I bought today were fairly priced and excellent - I'd been craving them and hadn't had any for almost two years. A very clean grocery with handy self-checkout machines. It saves me time and money being able to pickup inexpensive staples like OJ and diet soda here while on primary shopping trips to the Japanese and Korean markets in the area. read more

Some people may scoff at your largeness Meijer- but not me. I appreciate every inch of you. From the fantastic fruit selection, to the good quality towels, to your delightful rotisserie chicken, to your garden center. Oh- don't get me started on that. This is our midnight shopping run- when nothing else is open- we go to Meijer. Night owl turf. During the day- see my review of Valli. But when nothing else is open and you gotta shop- head for Meijer. I'm a big fan of Meijer. I think it has a much better supply than Walmart, things are usually easier to find in stock, and the bakery blows Walmart away. This was my first visit to this location and I left annoyed. What should have been a simple task, was ruined by an employee's bad attitude. The checkout lines were ridiculiously long, so I decided to hit up the self checkout. Once I started scanning things, I knew I was going to need assistance because of the alcohol I had....no problem, I scanned it and the machine called for assistance. Then, Captain Grumpypants came over grumbling about how I needed help and I was a bit blown away by the attitude. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe it was a bad time of month, who knows, but if I continue to get attitude like that, I'll go somewhere else. read more

It was quite the experience to buy groceries, buy a dress, and buy wine in one store. One stop shopping does not exist in Baltimore, like it does in Chicago. This is probably my favorite Meijer location. Open 24 hours - I can't tell you how many times we've walked in to Meijer in the evening and spent literally HOURS in there - so much to explore! Truth be told, some of their stuff is over prices - by the same token, they tend to have some great sales and clearance items in all the departments. They have so much stuff - groceries, electronics, clothes, accessories, household items, pharmacy, toys, seasonal items, shoes - I can go on and on. They also have a pretty good booze section. This place is DEFINITELY a place to take your time and browse - you will have a better chance at finding some bargains. read more

I love shopping at Meijer. I can get everything I need in one place. I often shop here for groceries and they are really reasonable. The produce is always great and they always are having sales on items on my list. The employees are very helpful for all my needs. I enjoy walking through the entire store checking all the departments out. The seasonal department always has great items for the house. Around Christmas time I bought stockings and holiday decorations at low cost. I still have to check out the summer items for the year, but almost positive I will fall in love with something! read more

It was great to go to a deserted Meijer at 2 AM to get Christmas ornaments and other random things.

Do not go to Meijer Optical in Round Lake Beach. They do not want to be bothered by customers and have better things to do than serving people who need glasses. When I went over there earlier today, the place was closed off with black tape, and inaccessible. I thought I came after hours but no, there was plenty of time until closing. A lone girl inside was busy with her cell phone and ignored me. When I finally asked if they were opened, she acknowledged my presence by asking what I wanted. I explained that glasses would be nice. She carefully inspected my prescription, insurance information, and other documents and asked what kind of glasses I wanted. I said that the prescription should provide that information. She asked again, what kind of glasses I wanted. I said that the kind that would help me see would be appreciated. She asked again, what kind of glasses I wanted, without providing any specifics. I said that typically, when I go for new glasses, I am presented with options and I can select the frames that I like. The girl said that she won't show me any glasses until I tell her what kind of glasses I wanted. I explained that I didn't know what kind of glasses I wanted until I knew my options. The girl just stared. After a while, I decided that it was a waste of time and walked away, while the girl returned to her cell phone. read more

Meijer has quickly become my go-to place for when I need a variety of things and/or I need something when other stores have closed. I went to Meijer in Normal, IL when I was a young college buck for my groceries and really got it down to a science; it became almost recreation (kinda lame, I know), but basically that experience ingrained a positive idea about Meijer into my mind. I have been to other locations for that reason and they really do vary from place to place (some are not as nice as RM). I like Meijer because it's clean and I can usually find what I need there at a good price. I've always enjoyed the seasonal departments and end caps with clearance items because there are usually good deals to be had. I guess I speak so highly of Meijer because I usually try to avoid Wal-Mart as much as possible, even if it means spending an extra dollar or two; I view it as paying an extra buck for cleanliness, convenience, and less....cluster....I usually cant stand to be in WM longer than I need to and even then it's too long. What I do wish Meijer would have is the $5 movie bin (like WM), but you can't have your cake and eat it too. If needed, Meijer could be a one stop shop, but then you might limit yourself to generic, run-of-the-mill items targeted for the masses which usually just serve the purpose rather than provide optimal quality (i.e. tools, sports equipment, camping gear), but if that's all you need then you've come to the right place. I gave this Meijer 4 stars for their cleanliness, variety, round the clock hours, and value; I docked the last star for quality of items (overall) and the movies mentioned earlier. Additionally, I think the best time to go would have to be late-night because there are no crowds, new items, mark downs and no crowds...I know what I said. read more

The grocery prices here aren't exactly the best (Jewel usually has tons of items on sale) but the food quality (produce, meats, etc.) is pretty good and consistent. I like that the place is clean and open 24 hours in case I really need something (a wide variety of things since they have so many different types of products) while the other stores are closed. We get our Rain-X windshield washer fluid here - always for a good price. I am not impressed by the workers but that's okay. read more

Meijer has earned pretty much all of my grocery/drug store business just by being the only store around that is open 24 hours a day. I love that convenience, I don't shop at crazy hours very often but just the fact that I know I have that option makes me a loyal Meyer shopper. Plus it's far less packed than Walmart and I love that. The office supply section leaves a lot to be desired but this store has basically everything else you'd ever need, I love it. Thanks Meijer! read more

My local grocery store. I love it, best prices, clean, and everything and best of all it's not a disgusting hole with nasty people like the repulsive Walmart on the other side of Golf Road. Great selection of everything, and everything is fresh. Always get greeted at the front door also. The only thing that's annoying is there's always only one or two full time cashiers out of twenty plus lanes, and tons of self cashier machines which always annoys me because they take forever and never work properly-but maybe that's why prices are lower. In any case, great store. Oh yeah, and there's always some angry elderly drivers in the parking lot who are a pain to deal with, still love this store. Plus they don't sell guinea pigs anymore which is great, because they didn't take care of them well. read more

The store in general isnt all that hot, they have some mutants working there , expired product on the shelves, the fish department usually stinks from 100 yards and the great sales are usually sold out forcing you to deal with pain in the butt rainchecks as well as the sales being displayed in a confusing way with other like products ( in my opinion they are trying to trick you into non sale items). all that being said the Pharmacy is Fantastic. the whole crew is smart , fast, personable, and bend over backwards for great customer service, the free antibiotics arent bad either. the general store manager could learn from the pharmacy manager how to do it right read more

I am not a fan of big box retailers, but this store's employees changed my mind. Yes, they have a huge selection of everything but there is plenty of help, if you need it. Plus, the aisle are jammed packed so much that you can not maneuver a cart though the store. This store is so decades better than the NIles store. Prices and quality dramatically better than Jewel, Dominicks or Garden Fresh. read more

I shop at the Rolling Meadows Meijer weekly. My complaint is that they are really bad with rotating items. I have found many expired items on the shelf and this was just for stuff i was buying, I didn't go looking for them. Yogurt, cheese, rolls in the bread aisle. The cheese was frozen down in the back of the shelf and was about a month past the expiration date. the next week it had been unstuck on the shelf and placed in the front of the shelf. I have learned to check everything I buy. I know this should be done anyway but I should be confident that the store is doing their job and checking it all. read more

Clean well organized store. Excellent prices and product selection. Friendly associates.

Big ass store , a little classier feeling than Walmart. Nice food selection, I can get a Xbox 360 game , a head of lettuce , some goldfish , a gas grill , a can of ravioli , a Star Wars action figure and some sushi ... How can you not like this joint? I have to give props to the pre prepared foods here , found near the deli counter , had the pizza and fried chicken , all pretty good for a grocery store. The Deli meats aren't all that fresh , I really dislike it when they preslice meat instead of slicing it to order. The meat is really good , it has always been fresh , whatever the cut. The seafood has been really good , whatever I order. In fact the only problem I have is it's prices. The standard grocery fare is all priced fairly average , but the meats are pretty high , higher than Jewel (which have gotten pretty high.). I find that I rarely buy any meat that isn't on sale. The fish while a little better , is still high , You do not get Whole Food quality , and yet pay close to Whole Food prices. While they are not prohibitively high , the prices do affect what I buy at any given time I shop there. Still , it's big , it's clean , and it has a HUGE selection of almost everything. read more

Meijer is a pretty good place to shop. Some people RAVE about Meijers...I don't think they are THAT big of a deal. They do have a nice selection, and it's a good all-in-one place. I will give them that. You can get your grocery shopping done as well as buy gifts or clothes as well. Their prices aren't as cheap as some other places I have seen. They are about as expensive as a Target. But it's not too shabby. It's pretty clean and their staff is friendly. It can get a bit crowded and hard to maneuver, but that's typical for a grocery store on the weekend. Overall it's a good place to shop! read more

While meijer does have some good sales and promos it is very frustrating to have to check yourself out. I am NOT an employee. I stopped going to Jewel for many years until they brought back 1 employee to have a lane open. It may be midnight but I watched the lone employee have to help several people in the self-checkout lane (including myself). At that point it would be faster to just have the employee ring them out and be done. Needless to say I told the employee to cancel my order....My voice may not matter but my money will be spent elsewhere. read more

This is one-stop shopping at its best. The selection is fabulous for most of the groceries, and the prices are always much better than Jewel or Dominicks. It's a very comfortable, well-spaced place to shop, and the "WalMart/Target" side isn't half-bad, either. I probably wouldn't look for anything trendy in the clothing section, but items for around the house can be found at a nice cost.
