I wanted to order a different type of contact lens, which I have worn before, and was told I needed to schedule a new contact lens appointment. My contact lens prescription is only 8 months old. This is completely unnecessary. And their glasses I ordered had to be sent back twice within 6 months because the arms kept falling off. Even though it was a design flaw, which they acknowledged, I was told I would be responsible to purchase new frames if it happened again. $700 for glasses, they should be warranted! read more

Not good experience each visit. The patient facing staff at the front desk seem so unhappy, they speak to you harshly and appears bothered if you ask a question. I've been going there for many years and the only reason I go back is because it's close to my home and the optometrists who are always very kind. Otherwise, I would never come back. I'll be back to bring my daughter soon and will see if they are better. But each year, I come for an appointment, the staff are rude (they are not over worked, far from it). They often sit in front with drinks but act so bothered when you come for appointments. read more

Initially, I had written an epic review on AccuVISION located in Gurnee, IL complaining about the low levels of customer service that I received by its staff members. However, Dr James Doherty & Associates asked me to give Tanya a call to discuss my concerns and experience with the Gurnee AccuVISION location. Well, I did... I just spoke with Tanya, Store Associate Manager at the AccuVISION in Lindenhurst, IL. Tanya was absolutely brilliant! Specifically, Tanya patiently listened to my concerns; she offered suggestions; she was delightful and she displayed all the characteristics of a great communicator and leader. In closing, Tanya recently implemented several customer service policies with the office staff. I am encouraged and extremely excited that AccuVISION completely supported and embraced my concerns. I have waited over 1 year for my glasses to be done. I am told that is normal for the insurance that I have. To th his day I still dont have them. Strangely enough, the glasses that I paid cash for are ready within 1 week. When I called about them after 8 months I was told they take about 8 months to be ready. When I called today after 1 year, I was told it usually takes about a year. No calls from them and I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. read more

Suggest you go elsewhere unless you have money to throw away. I got a bad feeling about the place when I first went in for an eye exam, so I did not purchase glasses there and took my script elsewhere. Months later, when my current glasses got a bad scratch, I thought I would give them another try for replacement lenses, considering my prescription was there. Wrong call! Whoa! Are you kidding me?! Dealing with the sales staff, and believe me this was sales, was like buying a used car. Confusing price sheets, upsell tactics and false perceived value They wanted $325 for progressives, after insurance. I politely declined telling that was absurd. I told them I could go elsewhere at a fraction of the cost and was told that Accuvision had higher quality. That is a load of bull - they ALL send lenses out for fabrication, unless made inhouse, and accuvision has no lab. I went to Walmart and got the same carbonate/anti scratch lenses, out the door for $25. (Yes, both locations are in-network for my vision plan) Ladies and gentlemen, that is called an attempted rip off. Don't be fooled. read more

I've been going here for years and they always take good care of me. The staff, especially Kim D., is always patient and exceptionally helpful. I've had trouble with wearing contacts and the doctors there have worked with me to get just the right type of comfortable contact lenses. Recently, I picked out a new set of frames (in a hurry) that didn't look right on me once they were finished. Kim patiently sat with me and gave me honest advice as I tried on different frames until I found the perfect ones! I love the new glasses and Kim too. In the past I would have given it 4 stars since I wasn't crazy about the location inside Gurnee Mills, but the new office is very nice and much more convenient. read more

Okay so here's the run down.... Dr I is awesome! Front office staff kinda off. What I mean by that is some act bothered by patients... don't explain options well and kind of want to rush you out the door. Now if you are going for glasses, there is a gentleman there who seems very kind and woman who wears glasses who seems really nice too! But the front desk staff needs customer service training! I went there with a friend to replace a pair of Oakley sunglasses. The staff immediately showed me the Oakley's in the case and also the Oakley's online available through mail order. They gave me Oakley's lowest price available, and also offered to fit my friend for a pair of sunglasses, they also explained to my friend how certain sunglasses can be fitted to a particular persons nose and face. Everyone was very attentive and professional. I would highly recommend going there in person to "See" for yourself. They also fitted a family I know with glasses and sunglasses and verified the maximum insurance coverage available for eye wear, as well as exam coverage. The exams were quick, efficient, and professional. The environment is very family friendly with a selection of glasses, contacts, and accessories for everyone and every budget! read more

Bad experience with one of the staff members Short and rude on the phone when I was calling to check the status of my order . She told me it was because of my insurance that my glasses were not available since the place where they send them out to did not have them ready. That did not make sense. Next year I'm going to another provider and I will let my vision insurance know that they may want to think about not recommending them on the provider list. I was 5 minutes late for my sons appt at 11. They fit him in at 11:15 -11:30. My daughter had an appt at 11:30. they told me they wouldn't see her because my son was late. It made no sense because it was a different appointment, When I asked why they are turning my daughter away all they said was because I was late. I had my 3 kids with , came all the way from antioch and they said I could come back in an hour. The lady sitting next to us in the waiting room was complaining as well saying they have turned her away a few times but he fosters son insurance send her there and she ha no choice. I said I would not return and the one receptionist stated "affordable Optical is right around the corner." If it was someone else with an appt at 11:30, they would of taken them. Its almost as if they were trying to punish us for being 5 min late. I understand I was late for sons appt but they fit him in. I was a half hour early for daughters and got turned away. The waiting room was empty so I don't understand why they were so rude about taking my daughter at her appointment time. I will never use that place of business again. I will let everyone know as well that they are rude and make up their own rules. read more

In contrast to my review on Affordable Optical (please see my review on them!) this place was awesome! After that other place, Accuvision was a breath of fresh air. They patiently helped me pick out a pair of frames, and I tried on like 20. They also have a great selection of designer frames like DKNY, Prada, Coach, Versace, etc. They got everything straight with my insurance and I left only paying the $25 deductible. Definitely happy with the service and will be coming back. read more

Called today trying to get an emergency appointment for my son because his lense came off his glasses and broke. The person that answer was checking for an appointment then asked "oh what is his insurance" told her he was switch to straight medicaid. Then thats when she said "oh no the doctor that takes that insurance is fully booked". So then I asked when was the next appointment and she said "oh not till March". Then I told her he does not have another pair and can not see without his glasses, still no help. I asked to speak to a manager she put me on hold. Then someone else got on the phone asked me "is the frame for a male or female" I was like what then she repeated the same question and I told her "I told the lady it was for my son. She then put me on hold. Then I get Kim (I guess she was the manager not sure because all she said was her name) on the line now and explain to her the what's going on with my son's glasses. Still no help then she was like plus he still needs to wait for 6 months for his glasses to arrive. First I'm not sure why it matters if it is a male or female not sure why the second lady asked me that. read more

I had my exam done somewhere else (only because I didn't know Accuvision took my insurance at the time) and they didn't have much of a selection for frames so I went to accuvision looking for a specific frame & when I tried them on I didn't like them. Ana went above & beyond. I think she showed me every pair in the store (some more than once) & was very patient with me. She spent a good amount of time on the phone for me also. This was my first experience with Accuvison at this location. I dealt with both Kim and Tanya, and they are both very professional and knowledgeable. I had lenses changed in two pair of glasses that I already owned. The service was exceptional and when I first tried on the new glasses I was very, very happy. I never had glasses with digital lenses before and while I was a bit skeptical at first, I'm thrilled with how I can see so clearly with both pair. When I picked these up, I left a 3rd pair (my everyday glasses) to receive the new RX and digital lenses. Accuvison is my new home for any needs I may have with my glasses. Great folks. I was able to make appointments for my three sons within a day of calling. The exams were very thorough and the staff was exceptionally courteous. I drove 45 minutes to get here because their other locations were closed on Sunday. Their website and the posted time on their door state that they are open until 4pm. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and the doors were locked. I called while standing at their front door and left a message. Two days later and they still never even bothered to call me back. Awful experience with the Gurnee, Lindenhurst, and Round Lake locations. Lindenhurst location for 3 weeks told me to come back next week because another location had their lense cutter. Finally decided to go to the Gurnee location but wasn't able to get lenses made that day so I decided to wait a week. Went to the Round Lake location who said I need to have my glasses sent out due to my insurance type - Gurnee was ready to do them overnight at their location with the same insurance information. Not to mention all 3 locations had difference prices. When the Round Lake location looked at my glasses, they said "you must have had a cheap anti-glare put on the lenses".... These were the same lenses that were made in Gurnee. Awful experience at 3 locations, I will be going elsewhere to get my lenses replaced. read more
