Ok, this is not my Eye Dr. but they saved me when I was in a real predicament so they're getting a 5 Star Yelp review for outstanding customer service. I was on my way to WI from Indianapolis when my husband called to tell me I left my overnight bag at home. By that point, I was almost to Chicago (over 3 hours from home) and I had to be somewhere at a certain time for a paid weekend opportunity taking photos of murals in their town. My vision is terrible. And my contacts are supposed to be changed daily. I didn't even have my glasses. I left on a Friday and wouldn't be back until Sunday and usually after more than a day or wear, the contacts start to break down. I absolutely cannot see without them or my glasses and I was traveling alone. I happened by this spot while getting gas and popped in to see if by some chance they might have samples in my prescription and they did!!! They seriously saved me so much anxiety over the weekend and now I have several pairs to get me through if I need them. Thank you, thank you, thank you. read more

I caution you to not come here to buy any of their products. Whether it's frame or lenses. Your insurance coverage does not matter. Their prices are so high that even if you have insurance coverage you'd still pay as if you don't have insurance. And if you don't have insurance, forget about it. I will give you a specific example. Their frame with Prada brand model PR A 13V is priced at over 600 usd, while online with exact same model and brand it's only 200 usd +. Same with their lens. The cost outside with insurance is same cost with them with insurance. If you ever decide to buy from them look it up first online like from glassesusa.com or other online sites. This has been the worst experience ever! I left a different eye place to come here only because of the extra discount with the insurance, however, I rather pay more for better customer service! This place couldn't get my glasses right in 3 tries and when they offered me a refund, they also acted like it was my fault! The Manager Beth is the rudest person, she was so mean over the phone. When I went to return the glasses, I didn't get a hello or even an apology for their mistakes!! Never again! I knew I had gone somewhere else for a reason but this time around I will not be back! Ordered glasses with magnetic sunglasses in December 2025 which were to be in before January 1 2026. I was gone January and February so in March I went to pick them up and no magnetic sunglasses. They said they would reorder, a few weeks later I stopped in and still no sunglasses! They ordered them from another store and a few days later they were in but wrong color. Now I am told that frame does not have the color I want even though they were there in December. read more

I've been going here for a few years and never had any issues - until I ordered glasses for my son for the first time. I usually use Zenni but they were able to get glasses for my son through my insurance so decided to try that. My son got his glasses and they broke within 3 days- the temples were so tight, he was just closing them and one side completely snapped off. I just got home from picking up my new glasses, and as the song says, "I can see clearly now". I waited too long to replace my old pair, which had become scratched and the frames were wobbly, so the difference is striking. Before selecting My Eye Dr, I looked into a few other stores. All these stores have 'deals', but I wasn't really looking for some huge discount, but rather a reliable and highly rated source for my eyeglass needs. The cost for the eye exam was a bit higher than some of the others (11-13%), but their reviews were very good, and they weren't far from my home. I made an appointment online. The eye exam went very well, and soon I was looking at the glasses for sale. The agent I had was very professional and quite helpful. After narrowing it down to 2 selections, I let the agent pick the one looked best on me. I figured since she does this all day long, she would be the best judge. I am very happy with my new glasses, they fit perfectly and the prescription seems dead on. I highly recommend My Eye Dr, as I am a very happy customer. I am pleasantly surprised and enjoy the wonderful massage for about 15 minutes then I am kindly greeted by Mike who proceeds to complete the pre-tests before I meet with Dr. Jeff. Mike explains each procedure and is very professional and polite as he guides me through each step of each test he performs. Afterwards he leads me back to the massage chairs for a short wait before I am introduced to Dr. Jeff . Of course, I am very happy to enjoy another mini massage, so I happily oblige and enjoy the massage chairs again! Next Dr. Jeff escorts me to the eye exam room where I proceed to get my eye exam. Dr. Jeff is truly a qualified and professional ophthalmologist! Not only does he go through the routine eye tests but he's also extremely personable and very easy to talk to, which is helpful because he thoroughly explains the results of the eye exam in clear in concise manner that's very easy to understand. Dr. Jeff explained the adjustments in my prescription were made to both my contacts and eyeglasses to ensure I understood the changes were made for my good for now and going forward. Clearly, he is highly qualified and knows his field well! After my comprehensive eye exam Dr. Jeff gave me trial contacts to wear home and asked Amanda to help me pick out glasses. I was the last appointment of the day (my appointment was at 6pm) and Amanda patiently helped me pick out not one (1) but two (2) frames even though her shift was over for the day! I never felt rushed to hurry up and pick out my glasses so she can leave and go home in fact she told me to take my time and understood picking out glasses is an important decision! Her patience is undeniable and her customer service is incomparable! This was, hands down, the best optometry experience of my adult life. I can't compare it to my childhood because, frankly, that place had a kickass coloring table. I made an appointment here after last week's epic fail with the dollar store of optometry. Scheduling online was easy -- I had a confirmation within 14 hours of my appointment time. When I arrived, the staff greeted me warmly, checked me in to my appointment, and asked me to have a seat. The waiting area is gorgeous. It's impeccably clean, well-organized, and there's a piano in the corner. Fancy schmancy. I was taken back for my pre-tests, which were all explained and administered professionally. I was offered an upgrade test and was explained it was $37 extra. When I declined, there was no pushing of the issue -- I was taken to the next test. When pre-tests were done, I was escorted to a different waiting room with MASSAGE CHAIRS. I was told how long the expected wait was and how many patients were ahead of me, which I appreciated after last week's endless waiting with no explanation. Dr. Swafford was excellent. The exam was quick and also conversational. We chatted casually most of the time, which was a nice change of pace from doctors who don't show any personal interest. He expressed concern about the brand of contact I was wearing, and though I don't need new contacts yet, gave me a trial pair anyway. And I have to admit -- it's a significant difference in comfort. I ordered glasses, and the staff were incredibly helpful in picking out frames. Unlike the other place I went, the frames were all accessible for trying on -- I didn't feel like I needed a police escort. I told the staff what I was looking for and they pulled the ones that met my criteria. When ordering, we ran into an issue with my insurance, and they called on my behalf to sort the issue out. I cannot say enough positive things about this experience. I intend to make this my optometry practice of choice. If I could give them ten stars, I absolutely would. read more

I was in the hotel next door to this location and the screw worked itself out of my glasses and the lens popped out. I stopped in here to see if they had a repair kit (which they didn't) but offered to fix them while I waited. Took longer to walk over than it did to do the actual repair... Long story short, these guys extended their kindness when they really didn't have to so if you need anything eye related, I'm willing to bet this is the place to go! What a great place! Drs. Jeff Swafford and Brent Gandolfi are kind, knowledgeable, and very professional. The staff is even better! The space is warm, with updated options for frames and lenses. They offer a number of high-end frames like Tiffany, Oakley, Tom Ford. I was so happy that they now take my eye insurance from VSP. It's great to support a local business. I had my eyes checked recently and was amazed with the state of the art measurement and diagnostic equipment. The place is accomodating, they even have relaxation massage chairs in a quiet room while you wait. As I was coming out from my eye exam, one of the helpful employees had selected a number of frames for me to try based on my face. Her selections were spot on! I love this place. I must say, having family in the eye business, I secretly go behind their backs to Dr. Jeff and the My Eye Doc team and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. Attention to your needs, detailed levels of service, education, humor and fun describe the team at My Eye Doc. From my testing, to my one/one appointment with Dr. Jeff and then the picking out of my kicky Gucci frames, everything was above and beyond. They even turned around my frames quicker than expected!!! Having friends that have went to them way back in their Wal Mart days .. it is SO awesome to see them grow as a small thriving local business. What even amazes me more is even though they're continually growing to meet the demands of the community and the people they serve, they do NOT lose sight of their levels of service. Also, their selection of frames is BEYOND amazing! From name brands (Gucci, Fendi, etc) to entry level designer frames, they've got frames to suit every budget and they wont sell you something you can't afford (I say this because my friend who goes there is on a limited budget buying more entry level frames and they treat her with the same level of service as they treat me buying my new Gucci frames). Having a VSP vision plan, it limits me to how often I can go. Dr. Jeff sent me a personal email letting me know my coverages, offering good rates and discounts etc. I find it quite refreshing to get personalized service like I do.. especially since a lot of doctors offices (ranging from optical to dentistry to specialized services) have gone the route of out-of-office call servicing (where you talk to someone in a call center). I've been going here for a few years (I need glasses and contacts) and they are awesome!! Dr. Gandolfi is phenomenal. He's thorough and will sit there and answer any and all questions you have. They have a few tests that you can do as "optional" as many vision insurance companies won't cover it but they will explain each test, it's worth, and it's cost before you agree. And the cost isn't that bad so getting them done every couple years is worth it. I've seen them also when I had eye infections so it's not just for contacts and glasses once a year. They will get you in as soon as they can and get you back on track. Their front staff is knowledgeable and friendly. You don't wait long when you arrive for your appointment. Definitely recommend them to go to, especially Dr. Gandolfi, for all your eye care needs. read more

On this visit I give the one star. I have met the end of our relationship with this eye care facility. Making the appointment yesterday was odd to start. Something I had never experienced since our beginning, and that was 2007 with 5 member family. Yesterday I was told that in order to make an appointment I needed to provide a credit card to insure I would be there (never have I had to do this in the past 13 yrs). I gave the number to them with hesitation, but I needed the appointment for the exam. When we arrived I was pleased of the precautions they had in place, call when you are here sign, when they brought us in they took out temp scan, showed us to the restroom to wash our hands, very nice indeed. I was escorted to the first exam room in which I have been many times. The young man in the white coat was kind of standoffish in attitude, a new face I haven't seen. He asked if I was doing the contact exam along with the medical exam and I explained my insurance benefits to him as I had just looked them up. He had my insurance information in front of him and told me what I already new, and this is where it turned into a horrible visit. The young man in the white Dr's coat explains to me that my eyes will be dilated as part of the medical exam and I stopped him there, I have the choice for that and I'm not choosing that option since it was done on my last visit. This person then said to me "if your pupils are not dilated enough then we can go ahead with the medical exam, if not you won't have a choice we will need to do it" I sat for a second, gathered my thoughts and I said no, I will not be having my eyes Dilated, my insurance covers my exam along with the contact fitting as long as they are done in the same visit.I was met with his rebuttal of "your medical exam is $54 for today, it's not fully covered" We argued the point for one or 2 more exchanges, at the end of that point I told him to forget the appointments for my wife and I, we were both there together to get our exams, we are just going to find a new place to do our business. We will not be forced into paying frivolous fees in a now, very posh eyewear store. In no way is this anything against Dr. Brent Gandolfi, but if this is a way he wants to run his business, while running off the customers who helped build his business, so be it. We/our family and all the people I have recommended will know I do not, and will not continue to do business with them due to the interactions today. I left a request for Dr. Gandolfi to call me so we can discuss directly. But in a finite decision, we will discontinue doing business with them, and will recommend others do the same. You can go to literally thousands of eyewear businesses and get exactly what you need and want without a high pressure sales tactic being implemented onto your will as a customer. The undereducated person who puts on a white coat and tells you this is it and there is no other way it's going to happen ruined a previous happy relationship for this business. read more

We have been going to my eye expert for several years now. Location is great and both doctors are wonderful. The staff is very helpful and professional. They have a great selection of frames and takes our insurance. It is nice that they complete most of the information for rebates so all you need to do is submit the forms. They have nice massage chairs in the waiting room. I am always impressed with the high tech equipment they use for the exams. This entire office is simply the best I have ever seen, bar none. The staff is so very friendly and professional. I always enjoy my visits here and that is saying a LOT since I generally absolutely DREAD going to appointments of any sort. Dr. Gandolfi is the best eye doctor I have been to and I've been to a LOT of them, so that's really saying something. He is so very informative and I know I'm getting the straight answers from him. He even shows me the pictures of my eyes, and explains everything so that I can understand. I've been to so many doctors that seem to feel that the details of my own body are their business and not mine. Dr. Gandolfi is simply the best!! The staff is absolutely the friendliest and the most helpful people I've ever seen in a doctor's office. No matter who I've dealt with there, they have always been so warm and approachable, never hurried or bothered! I always get to have the friendliest chats with them! They have state of the art equipment in this office and are always up to date on the latest treatments and knowledge about everything to do with eyes. Extra perks: The MASSAGE CHAIRS!!! Only complaint I could ever possibly come up with for this office is that they are too prompt and I never get the full 20 minute cycle in the magnificent massage chair! They always say I can come back when I'm done with my appointment and sit in the chair longer, but I always forget to do that! The saltwater tank full of fish is wonderful to watch while the chair works its magic. The piano! I have not heard it played when I've been there, but I have heard Dr. Swafford play on a clip on Facebook. I mean, there is a real live piano that gets played in that office!! How wonderful is that?!?! Being a musician I especially love that. I have not met Dr. Swafford, but members of my family have and they tell me he is just as professional and as wonderful as Dr. Gandolfi. I really can't say enough about this place. This by far was the experience I've had in an optical! The staff greets you as soon as you walk in with big smiles. I've been wearing glasses almost all of my life and it's nice to be in the chair having the doctor talk to you and discuss what's best for your eyes. He seemed to really care about what's best for me. I must admit that all the technology they have is great. Not having to get air puffed in my eye is such a great relief! (Phew) I seem to always get a minor heart attack when I get that. It's nice to go to an optical and know about your eyes. The way that wonderful young lady explained the scans was just wonderful because I do have plenty of family history leading to cataracts. My eyes sure do feel safe here at my eye xpert! As soon as I was done with the doctor and walking out there was a young woman who was ready with frames that fit my face. And helped me try more things on. She explained what was best for me but also for my hobbies! She was very nice and helped me with every question I had. I Definitely left there very happy and see myself coming here every year to get my eyes checked. I will recommend everyone I know to go there. It's simply the best service and staff. The Docs are great people, extremely talented and use the latest technology in the field of Optometry. When my last prescription was in need of updating I switched to My Eye Xpert as I had heard that Docs were outstanding. Walking in the store you are immediately impressed by the detail the staff has put into the physical set up. It is a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and with me, they were VERY patient! That is not easy. I can't make a decision looking at a restaurant menu, so when face with hundreds of eye glass frames, I am a big pain in the (beep). Never once did I feel uncomfortable or rushed, the staff and Doc Gandolfi gave me honest feedback choosing frames as well as thoughtful advice, which I appreciated since the last place I received glasses from (insert big box store name here) gave me NO assistance, just an exam. The glasses I picked are tremendous! They are really comfortable, and have GREAT quality lenses. My last pair easily scratched and the glare at night was unbearable. I couldn't be happier, as I value my glasses like I do my shoes and my bed....I use these things the most often in my life, so they need to be great, not good!! I booked an appointment to get contact and glasses prescription update. I was told the price was $70. I showed up and did the first health check part of the appointment with a very friendly gentleman. I was then escorted to a second room for the next part of the exam. This was a different gentleman who told me that it would in fact be $130 for the exam as I wanted my prescription updated for both contacts and glasses. I explained that I had booked for both and was told $70. He said that person must have made a mistake. Needless to say I left and will not be returning. It would be 1 star but the first gentleman was very friendly and thorough. If a business quotes a customer a price and makes a mistake, that's their problem, not the customers. read more

I have very hard time finding eye care because my vision is challenging for docs to get a good script. I tried My Eyexperts because of a friend referral. From the moment you walk in, it's a different experience. Smells good. Nice, comfortable atmosphere and very attentive and friendly staff.
