I was on my way to WI from Indianapolis when my husband called to tell me I left my overnight bag at home. By that point, I was almost to Chicago (over 3 hours from home) and I had to be somewhere at a certain time for a paid weekend opportunity taking photos of murals in their town. My vision is terrible. And my contacts are supposed to be changed daily. I didn't even have my glasses. I left on a Friday and wouldn't be back until Sunday and usually after more than a day or wear, the contacts start to break down. I absolutely cannot see without them or my glasses and I was traveling alone. I happened by this spot while getting gas and popped in to see if by some chance they might have samples in my prescription and they did!!! They seriously saved me so much anxiety over the weekend and now I have several pairs to get me through if I need them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Their prices are so high that even if you have insurance coverage you'd still pay as if you don't have insurance. And if you don't have insurance, forget about it. I will give you a specific example. Their frame with Prada brand model PR A 13V is priced at over 600 usd, while online with exact same model and brand it's only 200 usd +. Same with their lens. The cost outside with insurance is same cost with them with insurance. If you ever decide to buy from them look it up first online like from glassesusa.com or other online sites. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or working with me to resolve it, I was repeatedly ignored and made to feel as though the problem was my fault. Despite paying $1,775, a 2nd appointment with them and again was ignored.. until I had to leave and my calls for assistance were not returned. The manager, Lana, failed to follow up after several requests, and when I called again, I was abruptly hung up on. I have since contacted the Better Business Bureau and Pearle Vision Headquarters, as I need my funds to go somewhere else for prescription glasses... How HORRIBLE is that !!! We recently brought our son for his school exam and the doctor was great about explaining what was happening and going slowly through the process. He ended up needing glasses and there was a great selection of kids frames available for him to try on and select from. My one negative is that there is one woman in the eyewear room that almost seems bothered to be there and to be helping. But if you can avoid her, you'll likely have a great experience.

The new doctor they have on staff is so sweet and welcoming. She answered all of my questions and laughed with me when I thought I nailed the vision test (I did not nail the test, lol). Not once did I feel rushed or like I was wasting time. I'm so sad to be moving in the next year because I will greatly miss this place! I've read some of the other reviews, and they don't match my experience at all. It may be because of my age, but I know what it's like to work in the service industry; having someone stomp around your office demanding free services or waiving fees always ends with a threat of a nasty review on yelp, lol. The lady helping me answered all my questions and even gave me a sweet deal for both my eyeglasses and some contacts. After going to LensCrafters and America's Best, Visionworks was the one in network for my VSP Insurance. The lady helping was able to use my insurance towards the contacts and 60% off on my eyeglasses. I also needed progressive lenses along with Bluelight filter and anti-glare. They have a good selection of some off brands and also Ray Bans, DKNY, Michael Kors, etc. they don't really carry the luxury brands like Gucci, or Versace so if you are looking for those you won't find them here. I've always gone to Visionworks for eyeglasses as they usually have pretty good prices for decent glasses. This one is located inside Gurnee Mills Mall close to entrance J.

Said she'd call me on that following Wednesday, when the Dr. was back in. When I didn't hear from her by mid afternoon, I called and she asked me to remind her what she was supposed to call me on. She clearly wasn't going to follow up with me. They were supposed to fax over records to the Retina specialist they referred me to and never did. I would call to see where if my new glasses were in and they said a couple more days. about an hour later I got a text stating they were in. This happened 2X. Terrible terrible.

I had to clean them 8~10 times a day. When I returned to have them adjusted, I was curtly told there was nothing they could do. After months of frustration, I ordered a pair from Eyebuydiret that were a quarter of the cost and have more features. I now have a very expensive pair of glasses I never wear.
