Went to buy sunglasses and found 2 great pairs. We were ready to spend over $400. We wanted to…read morebuy one as is and order a second pair. The system to go online was down. No big deal. They said they would call us when it was back up. We drove all the way back after they called and said the system was working. Instead the system was still down. While trying to get the system up and running they ignored us and instead serviced people who were buying discounted items. After 45 minutes waiting the first time then driving back and waiting another half an hour with NO SUCCESS and totally frustrated, we left. AND the crazy thing is that the employees were saying this happens on the weekends all the time. If you want to lose customers don't update or improve your system. If you want to keep customers maybe you should assist us or give us options... We would have bought the one pair and you could have ordered the other, but no such luck. REALLY DISAPPOINTED in this store.

I was on my way to WI from Indianapolis when my husband called to tell me I left my overnight bag at home. By that point, I was almost to Chicago (over 3 hours from home) and I had to be somewhere at a certain time for a paid weekend opportunity taking photos of murals in their town. My vision is terrible. And my contacts are supposed to be changed daily. I didn't even have my glasses. I left on a Friday and wouldn't be back until Sunday and usually after more than a day or wear, the contacts start to break down. I absolutely cannot see without them or my glasses and I was traveling alone. I happened by this spot while getting gas and popped in to see if by some chance they might have samples in my prescription and they did!!! They seriously saved me so much anxiety over the weekend and now I have several pairs to get me through if I need them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Their prices are so high that even if you have insurance coverage you'd still pay as if you don't have insurance. And if you don't have insurance, forget about it. I will give you a specific example. Their frame with Prada brand model PR A 13V is priced at over 600 usd, while online with exact same model and brand it's only 200 usd +. Same with their lens. The cost outside with insurance is same cost with them with insurance. If you ever decide to buy from them look it up first online like from glassesusa.com or other online sites. This massive mall with nearly 2M square feet of space for up to 200 retailers is always an interesting experience. The repertoire of shops here, of course, has changed over the years. Gone are shops like Sears, Borders and Circuit City. Now there's more contemporary replacements like Kohls, Hobby Lobby and Primark. While many traditional indoor malls are dying a slow, painful death, Gurnee Mills seems to be thriving at least to some extent. The food court is still quite active and the storefronts still seem largely occupied. I particularly enjoy places like 2nd & Charles, the aforementioned Primark and Five Below. The food options like Starbucks, Cinnabon and Charley's Steaks are quite good for a drink, a snack or a light meal. There are also places for the kids to play. All of this housed in a pleasant facility continues to make Gurnee Mills an enjoyable place to visit.

Instead of acknowledging the mistake or working with me to resolve it, I was repeatedly ignored and made to feel as though the problem was my fault. Despite paying $1,775, a 2nd appointment with them and again was ignored.. until I had to leave and my calls for assistance were not returned. The manager, Lana, failed to follow up after several requests, and when I called again, I was abruptly hung up on. I have since contacted the Better Business Bureau and Pearle Vision Headquarters, as I need my funds to go somewhere else for prescription glasses... How HORRIBLE is that !!! I did not realize how difficult it would be. Before when you would get glasses. You were near-sighted or far-sighted. I know that people with poor vision must have it more complicated. My last examination was a 1.25 prescription, which still worked for me. Since I had not had an eye exam in years. I wanted to update the glasses. I asked what this prescription was, 2.50. WHAAAAT? I cannot even see in lenses above 1.75. I know, I am not an optometrist and understand all the complications that come with vision. The girl who attended to me explained that vision changes depending how far or near you are in front of a computer, phone, tv or reading a book? HUH? Well, near sighted or far sighted. She then stated she could explain optics to me. To which she did explain a little. Just want to wear same glasses for reading without struggling. Did I mention that both my husband and I, had exactly the same diagnosis and prescription level? Whereas before, completely different. Just want to believe that we are cared for and diagnosed properly. My husband also had to bring back the glasses due to the prescription being too high. He could not see anything with 2.25 Lense. Had blurred vision, headaches and nausea. Wearing a 2.50 prescription when I see fairly well with a 1.25 can and will, damage my vision. I do not need to be an optometrist to know this. Also, I had a $300 Insurance coverage for lenses & the exam was free. I also needed the sv blue light lenses. Still had to pay out of pocket. Was not a whole lot but $330 for reading glasses is a lot. I cannot complain about the customer service of the individuals working here. All were nice and I was greeted when I entered America's Best in Gurnee. I will say that I felt as if the young lady who attended me, might've thought I was trying to be difficult. I called ABT and spoke with Lou (his direct # 847-954-4140). I did some research before I called and liked the Samsung 55." 4K NEO QLED, originally $1,297.99, on sale for $897.99. Lou stated, "They had a sale starting tomorrow (Saturday) and that he could sell it to me for $651.00." Great! Lou said he could have it delivered next Tuesday. I explained my mother's situation and asked if it could be delivered tomorrow, on Saturday. Lou said, "I'll make it happen." Now that is exceptional customer service! Josh Hoffman was the technician who delivered and set up my mother's new Samsung TV. Josh programmed the Xfinity remote to the new TV, and my mother accidentally hit something that made the TV verbally announce everything she did. Josh asked if she wanted that, and my mother said no. Josh was quick-witted and a comedian; he had my mother laughing. You certainly can tell when an employee loves their job!
