    Well, I'd love to actually be able to give a review of the full experience, however, I've tried…read moreseveral times over a period of 2 weeks to contact them via their own website's contact form, asking 2 simple questions that anyone there could easily answer, but have gotten zero response. No, in this day and age of texting and email, etc., I don't feel it should be a requirement to actually be forced to take time to make a voice-to-voice phone call to get an answer, especially for simple, basic, non-patient-specific questions, when it's so much quicker and easier to just fire off an email and move along with other life matters needing attention. Just happened to come upon Yelp to read all the reviews, and it appears that the customer service (or complete lack thereof) sounds like status quo there. To me, this is a sign of how the business overall is, and a sign that any future dealings with them would result in equal frustration. Something I've already dealt with years ago at Sears Optical at Gurnee Mills... I won't deal with that kind of crap anymore. Lesson has already been learned. In fact, I drive by the place very often in my daily life and it's hard to tell whether they're even still in business; there's almost no signs of life/activity as viewed from the outside. Was looking for a new Optometrist, ah well, back to the search!

For my yearly eye exam I was charged $10.00 for "wellness" whatever that is, $35.00 for "refraction", $90.00 for "Routine Vision Exam EST" and $150.00 for "SCL Eval Toric." ( I didn't need my eyes dilated, my retinal doctor does that ) When I called for an explanation the staff lady, who is very nice, explained that the $90.00 was for a "glasses" exam and the extra $150.00 is a separate charge for a "contacts" exam. Huh? I think $285.00 for an exam with no issues or problems ( buying my contacts was extra) is pretty crazy, especially seeing that I'm a self pay, not insurance covered. Unfortunately I'll have to look around to find somewhere else for my eye exams . Three stars ..to balance my review out because the doctors are great .

    SCAM!!!!!!!! Please…read morebeware of visiting this facility! They intentionally don't give you a copy of your contact prescription by saying you can grab it after you pick up your "free contact sample". I couldn't make it back to pick up my sample and when I called today they pretend like someone was supposed to give it to me. Too bad this exact same thing happened last year so I know they don't give it to you! To make matters worse if you call to get your prescription they claim they don't have access to email but can fax it! Not sure who has a fax machine sitting at home in 2024. Obviously their intention is to have you come back to pick up this free contact sample two weeks later so they can sell you contacts. AND if you call their office you're greeted by Jasmine who obviously isn't experienced with helping customers, talks over you and is outright rude! And she's apparently their office manager. I've NEVER been to an eye Dr in which they hold your prescription hostage! Don't trust this place and go somewhere else around the area. My radar should have gone off when I was in the office for my check up and Jasmine was bullying this older woman. Making it seem like any question she had was an inconvenience and treating her like a criminal. The older woman was just asking why the glasses were so expensive and what she could do to get the price down. I wanted to earn everyone that this is not your place. I've lived here for 20+ years and never had this experience with any other eye dr. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I was here to choose safety glasses- scratch resistant, ansi certified, with splash guards. There was a wide selection, some even trendy looking. The downside with this business is that both times I have been here easily 5 to 7 workers have been standing around at the checkout desk just talking and not helping any of the patrons in the store. I was even asked again at the point of my exam day if I wanted contacts and I specifically told the lady helping me no, just the eye exam. After reviewing my receipt and seeing that I was charged for both and was submitted to my insurance I asked her to refund this from my order and also my insurance benefit. Bridget's response was not only unfriendly and rude throughout this transaction but what she said in response rather than doing as I asked was horrible. She proceeded to admit they made a mistake but then went on to justify it by saying "WELL YOUR INSURANCE COVERED IT"). Not only did she say this in response to requesting for the correction the first time, she then proceeded to say this again when my response was to again correct the error the second time by telling her I did not get, nor did I request this service and regardless if the insurance covered it, this is not a benefit I elected to use of my insurance. This is not ok in any way, shape, or form for any employee let alone a manager to be addressing an issue of this type with any customer. In addition to this after asking her if she can confirm that the benefit was corrected with my insurance she indicated very rudely that this is not something she can do and that it takes however long it takes. This is an end of year claim naturally time is of the essence. I reached out to my insurance company while there in the store to confirm this myself and was told that this was in-fact something the manager should have submitted to them to correct the claim benefit in which the insurance representative observed how unwilling to help Bridget was to correct this over the phone with me that she requested I hand my phone to the manager to get her to correct what she indicated was actually her responsibility to handle. Bridget was just as rude with her on the phone as with me in which she began asking her for her name to report this behavior and she did not want to comply. Finally Bridget ended up completing the correction for this in the computer never apologizing for anything at all and maintaining the rudest attitude the entire time. After finally correcting this issue I then proceeded to address the second reason for my return visit, which was to address the cost of my one pair of glasses that I purchased. The frame cost was ($220) and the lenses cost was ($1798) with insurance applied reducing this total cost to ($1200). Which is still an astronomical price to pay for any glasses with insurance benefits I might add. While during the selection of the frames and fitting I inquired why was the cost so high? In which I was told my prescription is a heavy prescription and that I also chose the wider view progressive lens option known as Physio lenses with blue light and the thinnest option for the lenses that was the reason why it was so high. I thought well, maybe my eyes were that bad, and proceeded to pay for my $1200 pair of glasses. Unbeknown to me that this was an utter price gouging rip off that I thought was explained through being led to believe this was due to my prescription magnatute and type. All of which is completely untrue. After arriving home that night the cost I paid did not sit well with me and I began to search all competitors. Only to find ALL of them offered the same exact options in lenses and frames for a fraction of the cost ranging from $337-$557. I then went onto Lenscrafters site and selected the same which showed $771 for the exact same pair I purchased. When I asked Bridget if she could explain this to me after showing her the company's own pricing she said it didn't include the phisio option which was $300 more. Unable to confirm this with her and based on the way I was treated throughout this encounter in addition to the insane mark up I was charged, I cancelled my order completely. I will never go back there again! What is being done there is appalling, whether it be an accidental mistake made on their behalf, deliberate gouging, and potentially even insurance fraud. Anyone willing to take a gamble to visit this location please check your receipts closely and follow up on pricing. I ended up going to another vision center that wouldn't you know offered the exact same progressive wide range lenses as the physio lenses with all of the exact same options as I selected at Lenscrafters and paid $398 all said and done. I was able to purchase a complete additional pair for still less than what Lenscrafters charged me for. Two pairs $680. In regards to Bridget and the way she treated me and the insurance representative, it is my opinion that Bridget does not belong in customer service at all and this was completely unacceptable behavior. You have lost a customer indefinitely.
