This placed used to be good, I had been going there for many years but now I will no longer go there. A few days after I got my exam, I called to let them know that my prescription had to be modified for magnification. They were not picking up calls and I was not able to get a live person. I even left a VM message asking someone to call and they never called back. When I went back a few days later, they blamed the "new system" for not being able to pick up their phone or to return the message. 4 weeks later, I still did not have my contacts and was able to get a person on the phone and he promised that he would find out what was happening with my order. I never heard back again. I then went 6 weeks after my order and I asked for a refund. The girl at the front desk said that she would try to have my contact lenses overnighted to the store. 4 weeks after that I still do not have my lenses. The workers are either, clueless, inept or just don't care. They should get negative stars. read more

I went back the second time because I had received such amazing service and eyeglasses from someone there named Dena. I missed a year because of covid and was worried she wouldn't be there as I went back Not only was she still there but I received even better new glasses this time than last time (which I didn't think was possible)! Awful experience! I have been dealing with getting a progressive lens pair and a sunglass since Feb.20th 2023. I have been so patient with...a pair not having line/focal point correct, a pair that lab made completely wrong, 3 times order was lost due to change over in system and only caught because I kept calling. After finally picking up the latest progressive pair on Monday the frame fell apart today (3 days after picking them up) as the screw that was in the right hinge was not the correct screw and as I was taking them off screw fell out and frame is now not in one piece. I find the screw and get it back in to use the pair and then realize it doesn't fit the frame and so is sticking out a bit on top and bottom and doesn't match other screw. I email Vernon Hill's store, the manager, where I had gotten them as I have had no luck getting a phone call through for months, they say their system is having problems....I get a call from the new manager that tells me the higher up people tell him to tell me it's best to cut our business together and that they will NOT get me another frame for the pair that fell apart. Unbelievable! The offered to refund all my money that they have had since 2-20-23 but I now have to start over with another more reputable, customer service oriented company! Waited almost 6 months for all their screw ups, never got angry as the gal that was helping me was awesome (Dena, she left the company 2 weeks ago after another lost order she caught, a loss for the store as she was great)! The management and company is not reputable and cannot believe after all this time they cut ties with me opposed to just fixing the problem and getting me what I paid for almost 6 months ago. Go somewhere else and get better customer service from a company that stands behind their products. I have never had such problems with getting a hold of a store, getting orders lost, lab making glasses completely wrong and then being told it's best to cut ties after I waited patiently for almost 6 months...my mistake for sure! read more

Very very nice staff. I came in wanting new glasses urgently because I had lost mine and everyone was super helpful - they took me in very fast, did an eye exam, fit me contact lenses and quickly reached my insurance to order new glasses. I had felt like I was in good hands. I can't remember the name of the doctor but I think it was Dr O'Neill. He was really nice. He made sure I got the perfect glasses for my eye type - told me my previous prescription could be too high. Made sure it fit right. Unlike other doctors where they rush you and make you feel unimportant, just to take your money. They really cared about my care. The staff was really nice too. Every worker I met there was amazing. I went in a couple times. So honest and friendly. You can tell they care. Thank you so much. read more

Since your closing of my local Foreyes store and moving into a space in Walgreens, I have had a very poor experience and will never shop at Foreyes again. Our family has been customers for many years, but the quality of service, and knowledge of employees has dramatically declined. Usually one on doctor in hand and there does not seem to ever be enough workers there to attend to the amount of customers that go in and out. A typical 20 minute visit can easily turn in to an hour. Great experience for my first time! The doctor, I believe his name was Dr. O'Neill was very thorough and informative. He explained everything he was doing and why it was necessary. Staff was friendly and efficient. Less than 5 min wait time. Sooo many trendy frames to choose from. It was BOGO at the time which is a little deceiving because my insurance covers a frame to $150 and there were plenty of frames over that so it was slightly limiting but I picked 2 pairs that I love. I'm a huge fan of this For Eyes location and am incredibly bummed out that my eye insurance plan is not accepted by them anymore. I really like the doctor on staff. She is professional, attentive and knowledgeable. I had an issue with my cornea scarring due to over wearing my contacts and she found a brand that would work well for me. I also like the receptionist and sales staff and have always had great experiences with them. The office is conveniently located close to my home, they are open late and take walk-ins as well. I bought glasses there in June and don't wear them very often. I noticed my left lens was blurry in the left corner of the glasses. I dropped by to tell them about this and they blamed it on me keeping my glasses in the sun. I never wear my glasses in the sun, I have sunglasses. And I don't leave them in the car. They did not help me with my situation at all. I have been going there with my family for years. We will never go back again. So disappointed in the customer service! Dr. Goffron is amazing! She is so thorough with her eye exams. It was my first ever and she really took her time to explain everything. In addition to the standard eye test to figure out your prescription, she also checked for any issues with dry spots, cornea problems, and eye muscle problems. I really like how they have Saturday hours, and it was one of the few places that I could get into on short notice. They have a HUGE selection of frames as well. read more

The optometrist Dr. Joy Goffron was the most gentle and thorough optometrist (doctors in general) I've seen! HIGHLY recommend her - in fact, I'm going to bring my husband to see her! Every time we go there, we say we're never buying anything there again. Dr. Goffron is the best for eye exams!, but we always have trouble on the glasses ordering side of the business. Some of their technicians are barely computer literate, and they are always doing the upsell on the lenses - pushing features our insurance doesn't cover. Once when we got frustrated and left without buying anything, they left a "hold" on our insurance so that when we later tried to order lenses somewhere else, our insurance benefit was locked by For Eyes VH! On our visit a year ago, we learned that For Eyes had changed lens suppliers. The glasses my son ordered seemed fine... until he wore them outdoors in cold weather and the lenses popped out of the frames - not once, but every single time. After several attempts at repair by a different For Eyes location (downtown Chicago), they admitted the lenses had been improperly machined and ordered him a new pair. On our most recent visit, we learned that For Eyes no longer offers a "standard" anti-reflective coating (the one that's covered by our Eyemed insurance), they only offer ONE type of AR coating and it's considered PREMIUM so if we want any AR coating at all, it's "HELLO $60 upcharge"! Really?? If you only offer one coating, isn't that by definition your "standard" coating?? Then, the order we placed in VH that was supposed to be shipped to the For Eyes downtown Chicago location for pickup, instead showed up two weeks later on our doorstep in the suburbs 30 miles away! We will continue to go to Dr. Goffron for our eye exams - she is wonderful. But for glasses.... Do yourself a favor folks. Google "Adam Ruins Everything - The Conspiracy Behind Your Glasses" and view the YouTube video. Then go to www.Zennioptical.com, skip the hassle, and buy your glasses online. We can get 2 - 3 pairs on Zenni (without insurance) for less than the insurance co-pays on a single comparable pair from For Eyes. Nice quality too! read more

I've been going to this store for my entire family since they opened many years ago. Always been happy with the service here. Both Dr Goffron and Dr Ross are excellent. In addition, Dena goes above and beyond to be helpful, informative and efficient with your purchases. I would use her every time if I could.
