Great experience. Wide selection of frames at competitive prices. Tamra was knowledgeable and extremely helpful in helping me purchase 3 pairs of eyeglasses. I would highly recommend For Eyes to friends and family. read more

I had an eye exam with Dr Ross. It was pleasant and actually... fun. He really knows his stuff; i totally trust him. On to look at frames with Sheila- I HAD A BLAST! Plus she has a great eye for what 'looks good' - she found the perfect frames for me. All in all, a great experience. read more

I, Karl J. Brocks, am a customer with the for eyes store in vernon hills, illinois. I just wanted to give a positive recommendation to both customer agents; maddi, &, tamra for doing a professional job in handling my new nearsighted eyeglasses fittings/adjustments. I gave the two young women representatives with for eyes the highest rating of 5 stars! excellent service, and, fantastic customer service, thank you, Karl J. Brocks read more

I have been here a few times now. I have seen good frames selection and received good service. I am happy with it. They offer vision exams. You can usually find a deal / sale on the frames here. They accept various vision insurance plans. If you are not sure if your plan is accepted by them or not then they can check for you. Their prices are reasonable based on the frames selection. I would recommend this shop for your eye care needs. read more

hello I am writing a review as I recently just visited and had an eye exam done a few days ago. Tiara was very friendly and informative. I greatly enjoyed my time there. I would definitely recommend my friends and family. read more

I have been wearing glasses for 55 years. Twice in the last three years I have bought them from Foreyes in Vernon Hills, IL. I went back the second time because I had received such amazing service and eyeglasses from someone there named Dena. I missed a year because of covid and was worried she wouldn't be there as I went back Not only was she still there but I received even better new glasses this time than last time (which I didn't think was possible)! What an amazing person! I will follow her wherever she goes to buy my glasses from because in all my years I have NEVER received such great service and glasses in my whole life! It isn't a fluke! If you want glasses, see her! She, and the glasses, will be the best you can get!!! read more

This placed used to be good, I had been going there for many years but now I will no longer go there. A few days after I got my exam, I called to let them know that my prescription had to be modified for magnification. They were not picking up calls and I was not able to get a live person. I even left a VM message asking someone to call and they never called back. When I went back a few days later, they blamed the "new system" for not being able to pick up their phone or to return the message. 4 weeks later, I still did not have my contacts and was able to get a person on the phone and he promised that he would find out what was happening with my order. I never heard back again. I then went 6 weeks after my order and I asked for a refund. The girl at the front desk said that she would try to have my contact lenses overnighted to the store. 4 weeks after that I still do not have my lenses. The workers are either, clueless, inept or just don't care. They should get negative stars. read more

Very very nice staff. I came in wanting new glasses urgently because I had lost mine and everyone was super helpful - they took me in very fast, did an eye exam, fit me contact lenses and quickly reached my insurance to order new glasses. I had felt like I was in good hands. I can't remember the name of the doctor but I think it was Dr O'Neill. He was really nice. He made sure I got the perfect glasses for my eye type - told me my previous prescription could be too high. Made sure it fit right. Unlike other doctors where they rush you and make you feel unimportant, just to take your money. They really cared about my care. The staff was really nice too. Every worker I met there was amazing. I went in a couple times. So honest and friendly. You can tell they care. Thank you so much. read more

Awful experience! I have been dealing with getting a progressive lens pair and a sunglass since Feb.20th 2023. I have been so patient with...a pair not having line/focal point correct, a pair that lab made completely wrong, 3 times order was lost due to change over in system and only caught because I kept calling. After finally picking up the latest progressive pair on Monday the frame fell apart today (3 days after picking them up) as the screw that was in the right hinge was not the correct screw and as I was taking them off screw fell out and frame is now not in one piece. I find the screw and get it back in to use the pair and then realize it doesn't fit the frame and so is sticking out a bit on top and bottom and doesn't match other screw. I email Vernon Hill's store, the manager, where I had gotten them as I have had no luck getting a phone call through for months, they say their system is having problems....I get a call from the new manager that tells me the higher up people tell him to tell me it's best to cut our business together and that they will NOT get me another frame for the pair that fell apart. Unbelievable! The offered to refund all my money that they have had since 2-20-23 but I now have to start over with another more reputable, customer service oriented company! Waited almost 6 months for all their screw ups, never got angry as the gal that was helping me was awesome (Dena, she left the company 2 weeks ago after another lost order she caught, a loss for the store as she was great)! The management and company is not reputable and cannot believe after all this time they cut ties with me opposed to just fixing the problem and getting me what I paid for almost 6 months ago. Go somewhere else and get better customer service from a company that stands behind their products. I have never had such problems with getting a hold of a store, getting orders lost, lab making glasses completely wrong and then being told it's best to cut ties after I waited patiently for almost 6 months...my mistake for sure! read more

never called to let us know that the glasses are ready. we had to call, went and got the glasses, 2 out of 3 where wrong. rush was to have been put on the corrected glasses, can get thru by phone and leaving a message does not help, nobody is returning the calls. will never use this location again. read more

Since your closing of my local Foreyes store and moving into a space in Walgreens, I have had a very poor experience and will never shop at Foreyes again. Our family has been customers for many years, but the quality of service, and knowledge of employees has dramatically declined. Just yesterday, I went to pick up my new glasses only to find the store closed with no explanation. After contacting your customer service, they were no help either. read more

Friendly staff. Good service. Clean well lit location. Great prices. Honor most insurances. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is the lack of staff. Usually one on doctor in hand and there does not seem to ever be enough workers there to attend to the amount of customers that go in and out. A typical 20 minute visit can easily turn in to an hour. That being said I like this location enough to be a repeat customer. read more

Awesome staff and what great help that everyone was to help me in the occurrence of not being able to open and close my eye without irritation. The dr took his time and didn't rush through the check up. I even purchased a pair of beautiful sunglasses while I was there and the rest of the staff helped me get the proper lenses. read more

Great experience for my first time! The doctor, I believe his name was Dr. O'Neill was very thorough and informative. He explained everything he was doing and why it was necessary. Staff was friendly and efficient. Less than 5 min wait time. Sooo many trendy frames to choose from. It was BOGO at the time which is a little deceiving because my insurance covers a frame to $150 and there were plenty of frames over that so it was slightly limiting but I picked 2 pairs that I love. Winnie helped me with style and size on my face. She was very sweet and honest, which I loved! read more

Update: I contacted Customer Service, as suggested, twice. Once by email and once by phone. I never got a response in either case. Again, horrible customer service! Every experience I have had here has been amazing. Dr. Ross is so nice and awesome. The staff took the time to help me decide what my insurance should cover to save the optimal amount of money, took the time to adjust my glasses and give great advice to care for my eyes! Love this place! read more

I'm a huge fan of this For Eyes location and am incredibly bummed out that my eye insurance plan is not accepted by them anymore. I really like the doctor on staff. She is professional, attentive and knowledgeable. I had an issue with my cornea scarring due to over wearing my contacts and she found a brand that would work well for me. I also like the receptionist and sales staff and have always had great experiences with them. The office is conveniently located close to my home, they are open late and take walk-ins as well. I really wish I could keep being seen here! read more

Dr. Goffron is amazing! She is so thorough with her eye exams. It was my first ever and she really took her time to explain everything. In addition to the standard eye test to figure out your prescription, she also checked for any issues with dry spots, cornea problems, and eye muscle problems. I really like how they have Saturday hours, and it was one of the few places that I could get into on short notice. They have a HUGE selection of frames as well. read more

I'm so glad I came to this location! The receptionist in the front was incredibly kind and just so polite from the beginning of my visit to the very end. The optometrist Dr. Joy Goffron was the most gentle and thorough optometrist (doctors in general) I've seen! HIGHLY recommend her - in fact, I'm going to bring my husband to see her! Also, the cost for an eye exam for glasses was only $49 (i didn't have vision insurance) - not bad at all! read more

Great location! As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted right away and everyone had a very positive and happy vibe! The décor is very modern, lighting is pleasing, and waiting for the DR only took a couple minutes! After speaking with the Doctor I dealt with a very helpful sales associate! She went out of her way and broke down the best way possible to save money! She explained everything clearly and communication even after my appointment was great! I was notified twice about my order being ready for pick up and picking them up was a breeze!!! Overall a great facility! read more

I bought glasses there in June and don't wear them very often. I noticed my left lens was blurry in the left corner of the glasses. I dropped by to tell them about this and they blamed it on me keeping my glasses in the sun. I never wear my glasses in the sun, I have sunglasses. And I don't leave them in the car. They did not help me with my situation at all. I have been going there with my family for years. We will never go back again. So disappointed in the customer service! It's sad that they just don't care. Costco here we come ! read more

Every time we go there, we say we're never buying anything there again. Dr. Goffron is the best for eye exams!, but we always have trouble on the glasses ordering side of the business. Some of their technicians are barely computer literate, and they are always doing the upsell on the lenses - pushing features our insurance doesn't cover. Once when we got frustrated and left without buying anything, they left a "hold" on our insurance so that when we later tried to order lenses somewhere else, our insurance benefit was locked by For Eyes VH! On our visit a year ago, we learned that For Eyes had changed lens suppliers. The glasses my son ordered seemed fine... until he wore them outdoors in cold weather and the lenses popped out of the frames - not once, but every single time. After several attempts at repair by a different For Eyes location (downtown Chicago), they admitted the lenses had been improperly machined and ordered him a new pair. On our most recent visit, we learned that For Eyes no longer offers a "standard" anti-reflective coating (the one that's covered by our Eyemed insurance), they only offer ONE type of AR coating and it's considered PREMIUM so if we want any AR coating at all, it's "HELLO $60 upcharge"! Really?? If you only offer one coating, isn't that by definition your "standard" coating?? Then, the order we placed in VH that was supposed to be shipped to the For Eyes downtown Chicago location for pickup, instead showed up two weeks later on our doorstep in the suburbs 30 miles away! We will continue to go to Dr. Goffron for our eye exams - she is wonderful. But for glasses.... Do yourself a favor folks. Google "Adam Ruins Everything - The Conspiracy Behind Your Glasses" and view the YouTube video. Then go to www.Zennioptical.com, skip the hassle, and buy your glasses online. We can get 2 - 3 pairs on Zenni (without insurance) for less than the insurance co-pays on a single comparable pair from For Eyes. Nice quality too! read more

They must not be in need of new customers. They wouldn't accept "my insurance". Makes you wonder ...

I've been going to this store for my entire family since they opened many years ago. Always been happy with the service here. Both Dr Goffron and Dr Ross are excellent. In addition, Dena goes above and beyond to be helpful, informative and efficient with your purchases. I would use her every time if I could. The only negative I've found is they dont have much selective of frames for small faced people, I sometimes have to go online to get more choices because of this. read more

Don't order contact lenses from these people especially if you need them right away. I waited for two weeks then finally called wondering what was going on. Turns out my box of contacts had been there for 4 days and nobody called me. The entire place is super unprofessional. No one can tell me why they didn't call me. I been going there for 11 years and this place changed. The black woman that works there should not work anywhere in this world. Dr. Goffron is the best ophthalmologist I have ever experienced. She is very thorough and has always given me a great examination. Her Rx for my contact lenses has been spot on. I've been going to this For Eyes location for two years now, and I really like it. It's easy to get in for an evening eye exam, and they are very quick to get contacts/glasses ordered. Good selection of frames. This is a much nicer store than the Northbrook one, that I used to go to. read more
