I go see Dana at the Target Optical Lake Bluff, IL location. She's absolutely fabulous! Gives great advice on choices and always gets the fit just perfect! But I hear she quit Target (what were you thinking Target??? She asked for a raise ir promotion) and now she's gone to a competitor. Does anyone know where she is? I don't mind going somewhere else. I've used Target Optical in San Diego for years. After moving here a year ago, I was due for an eye exam and I knew that I would need new glasses. I did the eye exam without issue-the doctor I saw was great. When it was time to order new glasses and sunglasses, I wanted to keep the same sunglasses frames that I had-so they ordered new lenses with the new prescriptions done then swapped the old lenses out with new lenses-easy. When it came time to order new glasses, I requested that they order the same frames that I'd had for years-which they didn't have a sample of in the store. BUT they were able to pull up my profile from San Diego and see the product number for the frames and copy and paste that into the order. A week or so went by and I went to get my new glasses. They swapped the lenses for the sunglasses and I was off. A few days to a week later and I'm getting dizzy and having trouble seeing, especially when I switch between my new glasses and sunglasses. Why you may ask? Because when they copy and pasted the product number for my frames, they also copy and pasted the old prescription! I went to the store and explained the issue and they confirmed that they ordered the wrong lenses. My eyes hurt and I'm getting dizzy because I was constantly switching between the new script (in the sunglasses) and the old script in my glasses! BTW-I can't see very well now while driving because the signs are blurry so that's super safe I asked if they could put a rush on my order and she chuckled. After supposedly ordering the correct lenses I asked if she put the rush and she said they don't do that.... They'll be here in 5-7 days. It's currently the end of day 5 and I've heard nothing thus far. We'll see if they actually show up in the next couple of days. They also didn't try to make an concessions for their error. I've had Target accidentally sell a curtain rod that I'd ordered online for store pickup to someone else and they profusely apologized and gave me a gift card when it wasn't even that big of an issue and i told them as such (this was in San Diego). These dummies here not only order the wrong item, but their error impedes on my vision and life (again, I can't see anything so I can't drive safely or at all and I've headaches and dizziness); but they basically said "our bad fam" and left it at that. Seek your vision needs elsewhere. read more

Post accurate hours on your website. They were closed for an hour in the middle of the day. We had tired kids, we had driven out specifically for an order and were turned away because they were closed for lunch. No mention of this on their website. And their sign (only posted on small print at the store) says that they're closed for 30 minutes at most. The person behind the cage said it would be an hour. They also nickel and dimed us when we placed the order that should have been on sale but somehow wasn't when we got to the store. Highly unlikely we'll use Target optical again. read more

Really good experience. All of the staff were super helpful and professional the entire time. The technology for the eye exam was amazing. Reminiscent of the eye exams I had in Seoul, Korea (super techy). Nice to see some of the comprehensive tests in the states and at a Target no-less. The doctor helping me at the time had even taken the time to explain to me my eye conditions (though minor) and what they meant. Originally from another state, I had no issue with them finding my previous Target account and my connected insurances. Frame selection is quite vast, which is why I love Target optical. Ranges from small brands to the more designer brands. I recommend calling in ahead of time to set an appointment just so that when you arrive you have an expedited experience. The other nearby Target Optical closed so this location has taken those previous customers. As for reminder services, you can opt-in for text or email reminders/updates, which was super helpful when I was waiting for my frames to be ready for pick-up. Tip: You can use your Target gift card(s) when buying frames/etc! read more

Awesome experience and highly recommended. Dr. Raechelle Espiritu Paik was personable, patient, thorough, and truly cares. It was the most comprehensive eye exam I ever had! Now that I have been here, I feel like every place before shortchanged me. Dr. Paik explained everything and informed me of how eye health can indicate other health problems The exam was reasonably priced and there was no hassle with my insurance. I've been putting off going to an optometrist for months (I travel for work and am not from the area, so it's always tough finding doctors on the road). I'd called around to a few different optometrists but Target Optical was able to get me in within a couple of days. The doctor was super helpful - we discussed options on lasik and contacts, though I just got for a new prescription for my glasses. I'm usually fairly unhappy with optometrists because I have trouble deciphering if "option 1 or 2" looks clearer with a snap judgement, it often feels rushed - but the doctor was super patient and so far I'm happy with my prescription. I also don't have insurance but the prices were reasonable. The only downside was to get my current frames filled, they'd have to be sent out (which could take up to 2 weeks). I don't really have a backup pair and won't be in the area in another two weeks so this didn't work for me. (I found that pearle vision has super quick turnaround time and went there). read more

WOOHOO! As good as it gets. Nisha and Britton are both experienced opticians and very friendly. They take most vision insurance plans and also offer discounts for out-of-network plans. The doctors are there almost every single day (including weekends) and they work with people of all ages (including kids). Dr. Andrew Paik and Britton were fantastic and helpful. I live in the city, and was originally looking at the Target Optical in West Loop for my eye exam after reading great reviews for Dr. Paik. However, I wanted my exam done on a specific date, and he was available at the Lake Bluff location, so I decided to drive up there. Well worth the trek! Dr. Paik was friendly, informative, and understood what my needs were. They have cool technology here as well including a retinal imaging machine which takes an image of your eye and allows an analysis of any damage in the eye including the nerves. Another great thing was I didn't feel any pressure to buy lenses and I definitely wasn't being upsold on anything. Britton was also very helpful as I was browsing through frames and he offered his suggestions from his own experience. Wouldn't hesitate at all to come back for my next exam. read more

I have been wearing glasses since a very young age, so I have seen many many doctors around Lake County and this has been by far one of the most pleasant experiences. I experienced excellent customer service by a young man name Justin. From the moment I walked into the store he greeted me kindly and was ready to assist. He gave me his undivided attention and was really honest when picking frames (which is much appreciated by us glasses wearers, this is a fashion statement!), he really spent time with me to find me the best glasses and sunglasses that fit my face. I have a really high prescription and he was very knowledgeable on which frames would work with my high prescription. He also took great care of me in finding me the best value with my insurance. He was very knowledgeable on the equipment and took his time explain the tests and how they are used to make my lenses. I was seen by Dr. Robbins, she was extremely attentive and took her time looking at my eyes and talking about my vision history. She was really great in making sure I was able to see at my fullest potential, as I am practically blind in one eye. Its really hard to find such great service by medical staff today. Dr. Robbins really truly cares about the patients she sees. When I went to pick up my lenses I was helped again by Justin, he was very helpful in making sure my glasses fit perfectly taking his time and adjusting and re-adjust my frames, he was very patient with me. The staff at Target Optical Lake Bluff provided me with exceptional customer service and I was extremely pleased with my entire experience. read more

These people are great. The best of the best. The Paiks (husband and wife doctor team) are nice, professional, smart, attentive, caring, and do anything to make you happy. And the exact same can be said of the rest of the team that works there. Super, super helpful. One of them even drove by my house after work to drop off my contacts. Amazing. Don't get thrown by "Target Optical Department." They are better, more professional and less expensive than any of the ripoff optometry places in the rest of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest.
