Finding a any kind of provider is incredibly difficult. I loved my last optometrist but did not like anything or anyone else at that facility. Life forced me to make a decision when last year I found out my primary optometrist was moving and I knew I didn't want to stay with anyone else in that office anymore. I scrambled to find a new optometrist since I was out of contacts but I struggled because I'm incredibly and annoyingly picky. I want someone that seems knowledgeable and experienced but not dated. I definitely want a place that's clean. A polite bedside manner is preferable. I especially wanted someone to believe me. I have had such a weird experience with my vision with having lazy eye, diplopia, etc.; I just want someone to believe me when I say I don't see as well as I believe I can. I got very lucky with Dr. Han at Focal Point. I previously avoided Korean eye doctors due to previous bad experiences, but I saw this clinic had good reviews and gave it a shot. I feel so blessed because I have now found an optometrist I can truly trust and believes me when I say something is off about my sight. Dr. Han listened to my concerns, needs, and even helped me try different prescriptions. I haven't purchased my contacts yet because I'm trying the different prescriptions still but she even let me know about rebates and savings I would get. I'm so incredibly grateful. I had a really good experience at this office. I was looking for a new eye doctor because the one I've had for years was dismissive to my concerns and with my job it's imperative that I can actually see properly. Dr. Han was amazing, she really listened to my concerns, was very personable, and actually spent time to get to know me, unlike most doctors who are in and out. Susan the manager was also really passionate about her job and helped me pick two fantastic pairs of glasses. Although, they don't have name brands like Gucci, Versace, Prada. They have some designers I've never heard of that also have nice frames and I was able to pick something trendy. Super impressed with this newly opened place! I had seen pictures online if the place and no filter is required. The decor is so pretty inside and feels so homey and not like an office. I was greeted by the Jackie ( who ran my initial tests) and dr han who are both really nice and funny! I have a huge phobia of eye exams because of the eye puff test. Some people handle it well but I can't stand it and I can barely open my eyes out of fear. Here, no need! Their equipment seems very modern and updated and the initial tests were very easy. No eye puff test! Woohoo! My eye exam with dr han was also very pleasant. She was so knowledgeable and explained every part of the exam so thoroughly. I have been to eye doctors for years and often leave half-aware of what's really going on with my eyes. Seriously so happy that I found Focal Point Eyecare. From the receptionist Sue, and my experiences with both Dr Han and Dr Hutchins, I have finally found an eye doctor that my family and I will continue to visit. First off, Sue (office manager) is very passionate about eye care and did her best to make the tests as comfortable and fun as possible. Dr. Anita Han is the best optometrist we have been to. She caught real concerns in my eye that were never mentioned or checked by multiple other optometrists. She has the equipment that looked into my eye and caught issues that should've been found much earlier. My wife and I took our parents there too because they have eye issues at their age and immediately responded to how they want to come to her now because they felt cared for and found out more about the condition of their eyes, than from other doctors over the years. My father-in-law wants to come to her when he visits from St. Louis even! She really cares for each patient and is so personable. On a side note, she has helped our whole family choose glasses each year and has a really good eye and glasses selection! Her staff is super helpful, friendly and knows their stuff! I have been going to lenscrafter for so long and always getting the wrong prescription. My right eye was always blurry and itchy. Nothing was done to fix this problem until I came to focal point. Anita discovered an issue with her eyes that we had thought was a possible learning disability that was causing her to have trouble with reading. Came to Dr. Rachel on a referral and WOW, was I glad I did! Walking in as the first guest of the day, it was quiet, but Sue greeted me with a very friendly smile, and was very accommodating. I've worn glasses since I was six, and now almost forty, Dr. Rachel informed me of some things I never knew about my eyes. I feel my vision is in VERY safe hands with Dr. Rachel. Once we talked, she walked me to the lobby to discuss some frames while Sue was busy. She wasn't too bothered to help out as the doctor. Once Sue was free, Dr. Rachel handed me off and Sue completely took care of getting me in the right glasses. Dr. Rachel even gave me some options for getting back into soft contact lenses, from hard (WHICH ARE VERY PAINFUL!). My overwhelming feeling after visiting Sue and Dr. Rachel is that they were super smart, cared about me, and were genuinely appreciative that I chose them as my Doctor. I'm a patient of Dr. Han's from her last practice and needed to get an eye exam and contacts before I went out of town. I called them, and although Dr Han wasn't available the same day, they were able to get me in for an appointment with Dr. Hutchins within just 15 minutes! The location was very easy to find, right off Milwaukee ave. I was very impressed with their showroom, selection of designer glasses and sunglasses, as well as their superior service! Even though I was technically a new patient at this location, they had me in and out in about 30 minutes total, including a really high-tech retinal exam. Dr. Hutchins was very informative and taught me a lot about my eyes & vision. Before I left, I inquired about their prices on contact lenses, and was able to save almost 25% vs. what I usually paid online. They even worked with my insurance company and delivered the contacts to my door (I have an unusual base curve that usually isn't in stock, but they even hooked it up with some trial pairs!!).
