My son is looking forward to feeling like a hipster in his new Ray-Bans, and we're thrilled that we were able to utilize our VSP insurance to the fullest. Shopping for glasses at this particular location couldn't have been easier, and it really helped that we came in knowing what we were looking for. They didn't have my son's frames in stock, so they custom ordered them. Since we had to use our VSP insurance, they will go to a VSP lab before being shipped back to the store. It will be well worth the wait, because our insurance saved us a significant amount of money. We saved hundreds. And, no upselling whatsoever. I'm so glad we found this location! The office itself was very clean and Covid safe. They took our temperatures, we filled out a questionnaire, and everyone was wearing masks. We were in and out in no time at all. I'm sorry I forgot the name of the lady who helped us out, because she was amazing and took care of everything for us...including the LensCrafters hold on our VSP account (per prior review). Between COVID and having an unreasonable stash of daily contacts, I put off my eye exam for longer than I should have. I really need new glasses, though, and had some urgency around spending HSA money that was rolled over during the pandemic. Scheduling was easy peasy - I made my appointment on the website and received a confirmation quickly, which included instructions on completing new patient paperwork online in advance. I received a text reminder of my appointment the day before. I was greeted right away, given a few additional forms to fill out, and then taken in back for initial testing. I waited in the lobby for a few minutes before my exam with Dr. Udesky. It was a brief wait and, honestly, the highlight of my day because I got to see how sweetly Dr. Udesky and his team interacted with the patient before me - a little girl who appeared to be four or five years old. She wanted her "eye pictures" to take home and they printed copies for her before sending her off with a fist bump. My exam was great and Dr. Udesky was friendly and warm. I asked a few questions about my current daily contacts, whether contacts or glasses would be better while staring at computer monitors all day, etc. He also gave me some helpful insight into my eye health relative to a medical condition and understanding long term care. I'd been on the fence about ordering glasses or going with an Internet retailer but, genuinely, Dr. Udesky offers competitive pricing (at least in this scenario where I was also committed to ordering contacts). Maria helped me choose frames and I'm excited for them to come in, particularly after years of being unhappy with my glasses from another retailer that bent and were misshapen almost immediately. She was knowledgeable, took my feedback into consideration, and selected the winning pair. I suppose I should mention that I don't have glasses or contacts in hand so this could change, but given how positive my experience was, I'm currently a happy customer and glad to support a local Northbrook doctor and his team. (For the record, I was also sent off with a fist bump and an elbow bump so that doesn't appear to be exclusively for the kids.) :)

I have really bad eyesight and my glass lenses are usually bottle thick but Focused Eye Care was able to get them to be super thin. My glasses are the lightest I've ever had them. Their eyeglass inventory is constantly changing, which is wonderful. I ended up buying three pairs. I. can't say enough good things about Focused Eye Care. She was thorough with my eye exam and took the time to answer my questions. They carry a variety of brands of frames and the staff was helpful in assisting me in finding the exact frame I want. I was very happy with the service and experience. I am truly appalled by some of the low rating reviews. Eye exams and eyewear can be costly especially with add-ons and features. I don't think it's fair to give a one-star review or complain about the experience because of the cost.

I am on soc. sec. and I didnt have that money, Also, It's really hard for me to go anywhere because of spinal damage, and I dont have a special car for my wheelchair, so I have to walk in excruciating pain from the car to the door, often pretty far... Dr. Henderson and his staff have exceeded my expectations for a professional, caring and safe facility. His thoughtful implementation of Covid protections should allow anyone to feel as safe as possible during this time of Covid 19. Every person is interviewed before entering the office. Everyone has their temperature taken. It is mandatory to wear a face mask. Every chair is wiped clean before a person sits in it. Patients leave the building via a separate exit. His staff is wonderful. I was trying in my new contacts and somehow the lens dropped on the table and bounced onto the floor. The first Assistent tried to find the lens and recruited two more office staff to find the lens. The lens was clear which makes the hard contact lens almost impossible to find. I had given up , but they were successful!!! I have a difficult prescription and a previous experience of the optometrist giving up on me. Dr. Henderson is patient and exacting and has answered all my many questions. I can now sit enjoying my cappuccino and see clearly three blocks away.
