Over…read moretime, this mall has generally been a good spot to gather with a quality set of stores, though there's definitely a lot more competition nearby with good options in all of the surrounding shopping centers that cover all the different varieties of shops and restaurants. With lots of indoor malls closing nearby, this setup has become a bit more of a rarity, and personally I still like having a large spot with furniture to sit down at when I need to rest, a climate controlled area for when it's too hot or cold outside, and lots of fun spots to do seasonal pictures. With Hawthorn 2.0, I'm quite excited for what is to come. It looks like there will be a fresh set of solid anchors like Perry's Steakhouse, AMC, Dave & Busters, Macy's, etc. If this develops similarly to Randhurst, this would be a great spot to gather in Vernon Hills. Even before this is complete however, Hawthorn Mall has retained more quality tenants and has an overall cleaner and more modern look than some of the other indoor malls nearby. With the next closest similar offering being Woodfield Mall, this is still a fairly unique offering.

I visited a few highly rated establishments, and decided on 730 North. I was glad I did, because it was the best experience I have ever had with my vision. Really nice people that take their time to get it right and listen to my concerns. My first experience was great but something was off with one of the lenses. They ordered a replacement and honestly after that I had the best vision I ever remember having. I just recently upgraded again and my experience was once again terrific. Not the cheapest, but in my opinion the best value.

There is plenty of parking since it is located in the Woodland Commons Shopping Mall. Her staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. The check-in process was swift and simple. She was thorough with my eye exam and took the time to answer my questions. They carry a variety of brands of frames and the staff was helpful in assisting me in finding the exact frame I want. I was very happy with the service and experience. I am truly appalled by some of the low rating reviews. Eye exams and eyewear can be costly especially with add-ons and features. I don't think it's fair to give a one-star review or complain about the experience because of the cost.

As a new patient, I would have appreciated if things were explained more clearly. I never asked for a contact lens fitting, but they assumed I did without confirming. I also thought my appointment included a comprehensive exam with retinal imaging and dilation, but I was later told that would cost extra. Dr. Patel mentioned that I have a bit of astigmatism but didn't explain what that means. I was fitted contacts but was not explained to me that I would have dailys again and was not asked which one I would prefer, they just assumed. When I ask a question about it I felt so rushed about things and like my questions were not making sense to them. So I stopped asking more. I left feeling more confused about my eye health than before I came in. They also check your pressure but don't tell you what it is and if it is okay. I don't think I will be going back here again.

As for the doctors I defiantly have enjoyed Dr. Rose over the years. Out of the two he is my preferred as I found him to be very professional and a pleasure to work with. Even if you don't have specific vision insurance my blue cross blue shield has given me discounts or covers the exam. The selection of frames they have available is nice although not gigantic. Overall I have no complaints and Dr Rose himself gets a 5-star review.
