I purchased glasses at the Meljer optical in Round Lake Beach, IL. march 3/20/26. The Manager informs me that it would take ten weeks for the glasses to come back. I PAY UP FRONT FOR THESE GLASSES. So after the ten weeks I would stop by the store, He informs me, that no shipment regarding any glasses. HAD CAME IN , What kind of business is MEIJER DOING. My husband was referred to Meijer Optical by his BCBS Advantage insurance. When we visited the Rolling Meadows store my husband explained a bit about his health history and told the doctor he needed a prisim in his lenses. Routine exam, picked out frames and tech support measured the lenses. During the year my husband continued to visit the optical department because something was not right. The frames continued to be adjusted and his vision got worse. We finally went to an ophthalmologist who told us there were no prisims in his lenses! We took the new prescription back to Meijer Optical and after checking with the district manager there was nothing they could do. No attempt to correct the wrong lenses, no apology for the inconvenience, no refund for giving us the wrong prescription... nothing. This is not what we expected. My husband had no idea the prisim was missing he trusted the professionals. We are sorry we went there and more sorry that we would never be able to trust their optical department for their lack of professionalism. Word to the wise...if your glasses don't feel right make them check everything until you are completely satisfied....your vision is very important. read more

Why, oh, why are those of us living in downtown Chicago stuck with crappy-ass baby versions of Jewel-Osco and Dominick's stores when there are huge, wide-aisled, brightly lit, well stocked, clean and wonderful stores like Meijer outside our normal reach unless we rent a car for the day? What a terrific store--one half a regular grocery store, the other half a Target. It's like a WalMart for those with college degrees. LOL I love, love, love this store. Super Center or Hypermarket that began in Michigan, now facing difficulties competing with Wal-Mart. This store in Rolling Meadows is fairly new. I love going to Meijer's (Michigan people put 's after any company, like Ford's) in the middle of the night when I'm bored. This is one of the few places where you could buy a fish fillet for cooking and a live fish in a tank under one roof. read more

Someone really needs to explain to me why anyone shops at the Walmart across the street when they can come and shop in a clean, well-stocked, and inexpensive store like Meijer. Meijer is one-stop shopping at its best. They have everything from pizza to baseball helmets to gardening equipment. Meijer has become the place I go if I have no idea where to find something I need. Meijer Optical - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Rolling Meadows, Illinois

Meijer has had this location in Rolling Meadows for several years now but we had not gone there until recently. It is a little out of the way for us, but not too bad. We decided to try it after looking at their newspaper insert and saw their selection and prices. The place is huge. Think Target cross-bred with Super Walmart and a large grocery store. It seems like they carry just about everything. Car parts and hardware, clothing and electronics, furniture and office supplies. And, their grocery selection is much larger and more diverse than anything in the area. Their prices are much lower than the big grocery chains (Jewel, Mariano's, Whole Foods), and their choices are greater. I don't think their produce is as good as some others though. If you don't do dairy, they have the largest selection of nondairy products I've seen around Chicago. Soy, coconut, hemp, almond and cashew milks and ice creams. I was thrilled when I saw that. So now, we have been passing all of these other stores to shop at Meijer. I still prefer Valli and Mariano's for produce and cold cuts, but this is our new go to store for about everything else. read more

Open 24 hours, variety, has almost everything you could ever want. Groceries, hard lines, soft lines and reasonable check out lines. I love having so many options and this is a good place to stop if eating out gets to be too much and if there is a mini fridge and microwave in the hotel room. Picked up a bunch of snacks and quick microwave food to take back to our room. Stumbled upon this grandiose retailer by accident. I wish we had one where I lived. I would gladly switch. Apparently Meijer trademarked the phrase, "one stop shop" according to Wikkipedia. One stop indeed. read more

We visited this store for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. While we picked up a pair of shoes at a great price decided to do our grocery shopping while we were there. BIG MISTAKE! By the time we got to the produce department we found oranges, grapefruit and lettuce with mold on it! Eww! Why no one was there to clears it out was beyond me but we were so disgusted we left our cart and walked out. Stopped to use the restroom and they were disgustingly dirty as well. Concerned that the water to wash your hands wouldn't run without using one hand to hold the knob in...not very sanitary for workers, especially working with food! Meijer is great VALUE for a wonderful myriad of reasons. This location has a tremendously large parking lot, that's never been full, and was in the process of being plowed by an industrial caterpillar plow today, as yes, I was shopping amidst the blizzard. (A girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do!) The store is impressively large and, even on busy days, there is plenty of room in the aisles and well controlled checkout lines. But those aren't the reasons I love shopping here.... I love their produce section. It's massive footprint is bursting with every type of veggie, fruit, (and everything between) nicely organized and, really well priced. In addition to being plentiful and affordable, Meijer outperforms Jewel, and Caputos in freshness of produce. It's quality, quantity and cost. This puts it far ahead the premium stores like Whole Foods, in affordability and overall options. Reason number two: Clearance. I've never not found a remarkable buy on clearance in their store. Did you catch that double negative? This place is teeming with hidden finds, amid reasonably priced regular merchandise. If you're not in a rush, walk the aisles and look for the orange clearance tags. They reduce the fresh cut fruits and veggies if they don't sell same day. Perfect for easy, healthy, snacking and conveniently reduced up to 60%! You can also find items that don't sell well reduced to clear. For me, this is how healthy eating and fancy options, all become within budget. Stock up, cause they don't last long! I've found their pricing on most boxed goods to be lower generally, than other stores too. As in, you're getting a deal without waiting for a sale. Easy. Meijer brand tea. This is a new find for me. I'm a huge tea drinker!! They have a variety of Meijer brand tea that is affordable and delicious! Ginger lemon green tea is one of my faves! They get only 4 stars because I've had multiple terrible experiences with their seafood. It's not fresh. I can personally vouch for a stinky salmon situation. The terrible part, it was stinky same day, as soon as I got home. If you stay away from the fish, I'm pretty sure you'll find, it's a pretty good grocery store on all other counts. Plus, they have tremendously long hours. So if the crowds aren't your thing- shop late or early!! read more

I don't want to like it... on principle I actually never want to like any of these big, Corporate, conglomeration stores... but I can't help it! There's some really awesome stuff here. First of all, the last time I stopped in I picked up a TON of meat and have to admit that their pork chops were the most tender I've been able to find as of late. My kids normally complain about how tough it is and there were no complaints because, while I cooked it the same way I normally do... the meat was just amazingly tender! Next, I love salsa that is more than just tomatoes, onions and cilantro... and they've got a very good selection of off the beaten path salsas. Also, the day after Thanksgiving they had a ton of toys on sale at a much lower price than anyone else. So, while I detest many of these large stores... I'm tolerant of Meijer for now, until they prove to be just as bad as all the rest. read more

Wow, this place is pretty amazing. We don't have Meijer where I come from, so I had no idea what to expect. They remind me of a Cub Foods meets Walmart. I was a bit overwhelmed by the size, but that quickly turned into child-like curiosity. A lot of their household goods look janky and cheap, but their food wasn't too bad and they have a lot of it. Some of their fruit and veggies were sub par, but prices were decent. Nothing looked like it would poison me. I filled the bottom of the cart and walked out with 4 full bags of groceries for $115. This is where I do all of my grocery shopping because it's so convenient. I like their prices, selection, and their deli is always busy but quick. I've purchased many household items here as well and love going into that section to see what's new (I'm a kitchen gadget junkie). They have several self-checkout aisles if you dont have time to screw around...although I always seem to screw up my OWN order. So it is best not to act all "independent" when you have 103 packets of kool-aid. Just a tip. The store is always clean and the cashiers are very nice and especially helpful when I hit a snag at the self-check out! Overall, love to shop here and get lots for my little money. read more

You can buy everything here, from groceries to guinea pigs. Seriously. Everything is really inexpensive and the store is well-maintained. The yelper who said 'Meijer is like Wal-Mart with class' is dead on. The prices are reasonable (much better than Jewel or Dominicks) but their produce is only so-so (I prefer Whole Foods for that). The staff are usually very friendly, too. The only downside is the annoying suburbanite soccer moms who steal your grocery cart (this has happened to me on more than one occasion) and those same drunk-at-midday soccer moms who don't pay attention to where they're pushing their cart filled with bourbon, a screaming three-year-old Dakota/Aiden, and possibly a guinea pig. read more

Lots of great values, plus everything- literally- under one roof. The prices aren't quite as low as at Wal-Mart, but this store is much cleaner, just as well-managed, and has a full grocery store inside. I shopped here to stock up for a camping trip two years ago- I was able to buy breakfast, lunch, and dinner food- including freshly baked bread, a cooler to store the perishable food in, the ice, propane, and a camp stove. And I also gassed up the car before heading out. I've also stopped by their snack bar for lunch a few times. The food is good, hot, and cheap. You won't confuse it with fine dining, but it's a good option if you're trying to save a few bucks- most lunches are around $5. read more

Meijer = Gluten free happiness Chebe, Schar, Gluten Free Pantry, Bobs Red Mill - oh my im in heaven! Anyone who knows me knows that I Love going to different grocery stores and perusing the aisles 1 by 1. Not only are the prices affordable, they have so many different items. I made some really good gluten free pizza with Chebe frozen dough (so easy!) and I'm loving these Schar vanilla wafers. Clothes are still in disarray, I don't find anything appealing. Found lots of good buys on frozen ethnic and vegetarian dinners. One thing I'm a bit peeved about is the check out man missed two eyeliners that I had spent ten minutes choosing, then I get home and freak that I was charged for them but didn't get them...however that wasn't the case. They were on the conveyor belt with everything else and he got some of the items but not the ones I REALLY wanted. Also watch your prices. I was overcharged on apples and had to go back, take a picture of the price, and wait for my refund. And still no Lemon Crunch Pie!!!!! I had to settle for Caramel Apple, which was still just as delicious but I had my heart set on Lemon Crunch, which I haven't been able to get for a whole year!!! read more

Love, love, love. Meijer is my favorite grocery store. Not only is their produce usually fresh, but I love the variety. (Yes, I can get gai lan/Chinese broccoli at any time). I regularly buy my sandwich lettuce here ($1.50 or-so/lb) and my greek yogurt (Meijer brand is .99). Their store brand deli meat is something I usually avoid (it's bland/flavorless), and their store brand bread always seems to go bad before the expiration date, so I try to avoid those two things. They do have some bread brands (Annie's?) I don't usually see at other grocers. They always have pretty good deals, though, and I prefer them over their big-name super store competitor. And the fact that they're 24 hours means I can avoid huge after-work crowds. The staff is friendly and efficient. I WILL be back. read more

Meijer in four words: Massive. Humongous. Has everything. The prices aren't always the lowest, but if you want to get technical on gas driving to/from other stores, the value might be found here. They really have almost everything at this store, and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the pre-made dishes near the deli; they have a grilled chicken breast with wild rice that is really good (it's in the refrigerated section). Produce is usually pretty good here, and they have a wide variety of everything else from pet toys to clothes. Sign up for mPerks! They offer some great deals through there. read more

This location is one of the newer Meijer stores. I love Meijer because of their good prices and product availability. They have m perks, which is a pretty good rewards program. This store is very well laid out in my opinion. I also love the location of this store. It's very near fast food restaurants as well as other pit stops you may need to make while running errands. The only down side of this location is that I have gone on everyday of the week and they never have all of the registers open. I usually find it quicker to run through the self checkout. Good thing I haven't heard any news about Meijer getting rid of their self checkouts! read more

I've always been something of an opponent of the K Marts and Wal Marts of the world - Wal Mart in particular earns my ire with their shady business practices along with the myriad proven cases of employee mistreatment. Their direct disregard for small business and their open assertions of said disregard tends to bother me all the more and resultantly, I rarely ever go into one. For the longest time, I thought Meijer would be built around the same basic tenants - after looking into them a bit, it seems they're not in the same ball park and as they're usually placed in the suburbs, there aren't all that many small businesses for them to shut down with their presence. Their regional as opposed to global presence is also a bit of a plus - sure they're a corporation but supporting them isn't quite as revolting. I tend to collect toys based on DC Comics properties and with the new stuff being put out by Mattel, I have to often look towards the chain stores to find what I'm seeking out. Meijer does a decent job of stocking things with the occasional sale here and there - they certainly aren't without their share of peg warmers though, but one could surmise such a malady is more due to the location and the desirability of the product itself which isn't really the fault of the product's carrier. When out in the suburbs (however rare those times may be), Meijer is probably the best option out of all of the chains when looking for one stop shopping (do I have to pay a royalty for saying that since they trademarked the phrase?). read more

This place is just like Wal-Mart, except for the prices, which aren't as low. You can find a deal once and awhile, but you have to look for it. They have a large food section, but nothing I couldn't find in Chicago groceries or fruit markets, probably for less. So why do I give this place 4 stars? Because it's open late, like 24 hours. What's up with Chicago? Why do I have to go this far, if it's past 10 pm, to be able to get something (besides at Walgreen's)? Taste of Ohio. Meijer reminds me of Ohio. It is nice to be able to shop here and get all the essentials. To me a grocery store is a grocery store and price differences are hard to notice. Jewel, Dominick's, Meijer and Kroger, they are all the same. Just stay in the fresh produce section and you should be safe. This Meijer is pretty big and has lots of parking and carts. The wife loves to do the self checkout but I hate it. You are bound to need the tenant to come over and help you with something. read more

Good place for groceries. I am not a big fan of this store for anything else, but there are good deals on food and the quality seems to be good. One problem is that they seem to cut costs by not having enough checkers. I notice that on weekends during the day, it can take 5-10 minutes before you make your way up to the checkout. For the most part, you're ok. I love the variety of the different breads you have at the deli. The packaged sushi I can run in and pick up for lunch. Clothes, make-up, dog food all the better when running in quickly to be able to pick up some things. One thing tho, the vitamins I buy at targee' are $4.00 LOWER per bottle!! Whats up with that? Oh, Rolling Meadows. Not too far from Schaumburg where I like to go sometimes, but Rolling Meadows is still a "Buffalo Grove" type of suburb for me. Too far from Chicago, not enough stuff to entice me back. However, Rolling Meadows has one hell of a Meijer here. Only went to one other Meijer in my life, the one in Niles, and because of the horrendous experience there I was ready to write off all Meijers forever. Niles' Mejier is that bad, seriously. I am very glad I gave this store a chance. Very organized, well spaced aisles. Good snack selection. Really great toy selection! Did not expect that and was surprised and pleased. I got some hot wings too here and those were pretty good. Would I go here again? I wouldn't make a special trip up (but only because I don't really find myself in Rolling Meadows often) but if I were in the area and needed something Meijer had, I'd stop in. Meijer, close the Niles store already. Having this store and the Niles store under the same name is not fair to this store. The difference is unbelievable. Recommend! read more

Great prices and fantastic variety. I really enjoy shopping here as I can get items at this store that I can't find at others. And, for the size of the place I have found the check out process to be pretty quick. Just wish this wasn't the closest Meijer store to my residence - hopefully they'll open one closer to N Arlington Heights / Buffalo Grove. read more
