Because, I was able to work from home one Friday, I stopped in Uptown Family Vision for an eye exam. I immediately noticed a significant upgrade in the equipment used to examine my eyes. Since Dr. Andrew Paik and his wife took over the practice, they upgraded all the equipment and it is now state of the art. As a result, I had the most thorough eye exam in my life. My new glasses in contact lenses have improved my vision. I have such confidence in the process and experience that I'm going to move my family to this practice in 2025.

Returned the glasses since the prescription didn't seem quite right.. only took about a week extra for them to correct the prescription and get glasses back. Still getting used to them. Had to buy some temple sleeves to relieve the pressure off the ears. There doesn't seem to be a good solution to solve this due to my prescription causes the lens to be heavy the middle.. kind of frustrating. Adjustments don't seem to help a lot just a little so I do need the ear padding sleeves.

I know there are a couple optometrists here but there could be more. The woman who helped me (whose name I cannot recall, and yes I feel like a jerk) was thorough and suggested that I try a slightly reduced prescription from what I had. She explained that this would help keep my eyes healthy longer, as over-correcting can lead the lens to focus more than necessary and that could wear out the eye's capacity to focus, and potentially requiring readers or bifocals earlier. (I think I have all that right....) Anyway the point is that I really appreciated her explaining it all, rather than simply overcorrecting as apparently at least one other doctor has done. And the contacts that she suggested fit well and my sight is perfectly clear--in fact, perhaps more comfortably clear than my prior ones--so all in all I'm really glad I came to Boyce, and barring any issues will return next year around this time. The office is super tiny, so there's not a lot of space to sit and wait for your appointment. They also don't have a huge selection of frames, but it's worth looking around if you're here getting a prescription for specs. The parking lot is funky but there are spots directly in front of the office as well as on the west side of the building.

Dr. Dimo is an excellent doctor who truly cares about her patients. Joanna at the front desk is absolutely amazing and has a heart of gold. She always treats people with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. She truly wants to help people and never makes anyone feel like they are just another customer. I have never known her to ask anyone for a review or for stars, which makes my recommendation completely sincere. She always does everything she can to help patients, including working with different insurance plans. You can feel that helping people is more important to her than simply making money. I was able to call and ask if they have an availability for an appointment and they checked and they said they can get me in the same day... never mind, It was a day where lots of snow was falling and probably appointments were canceled.. But after two, regular eye doctor appointments with two different optometrist (Dr. Mila Petkovic) I found each of them to be kind and super patient, and really capable of providing great service, and telling me more about how my vision might change as I get older: bifocals. This is about churning through customers not patient centered healthcare. Front office knows the frames provided were damaged during multiple attempts to get the lenses correct. Refused to take accountability and doubled down and said they had been worn which was factually untrue with receipt from purchase AND I need a prescription to see out of them! The customer service is non existent and no matter how "nice" Dr. MIla is she's unethical and unprofessional knowing her patient is having issues with the filling of her prescription. Waiting for my refunds and filed a complaint with IDFPR. My experience absolutely unacceptable.

I'm a fan for sure! Everyone was very nice, accommodating, and informative. I learned that the reason that I had been having headaches for the last year was because the OTHER dr. had made my prescription too strong. My contacts came in super quickly, and it's been super convenient working with tthem ever since. There's plenty of parking (parking lot and garage around the corner). I'll definitely be returning!
