Terrible experience. Initially told me needed two new lens bushings at $40 each but will have tech look at it. A week later called me and said replaced bushings but needs new bridge and will have to order the part that'll be $200. Another week or so goes buy and they say glasses are ready. I went in to pick them up and the problem wasn't solved. The arms/legs of the glasses were still loose and charged me $200 and did not document what they replaced or fixed. I indicated that they didn't solve the problem and was not happy. They said glasses were fine as they replaced the bridge. I asked them if they did a full assessment of the glasses, and they "said" they replaced the bridge. I said I cannot wear them because they are loose and still flimsy. How do you charge someone but don't fix the problem? I will be filing with the better business bureau especially since I'm a senior. Very Dissatisfied Customer. read more

I have no issue with Dr. Steve; but with the policies of Pearl Vision as a whole. In brief, I ordered new lenses/frames and needed before a went on vacation, it normally takes 7-10 business days, but it took over a month to receive. After trying to work with manager of store and main headquarters, only was given a credit toward frames for next year; which I don't need. I wanted a credit on the lenses/frames I ordered this year. I don't need new frames next year. Not happy, as I spent over $500 and got no satisfaction. I reached out to fill out a complaint form twice; have heard nothing back from headquarters. Think twice before ordering from Pearl Vision. Not good customer service. Only want your money. read more

On a whim, I decided I needed to look more 'intelligent' for some upcoming interviews... so I stopped by here to check out their collection of black, oversized black plastic frames. 'Sadie' the store manager was VERY helpful and considerate, pulling a lot of things for me... the only pair I liked were these (over-priced) Prada ones, that would have been okay, if a little wider I think... insurance helped them be a little more reasonable, but I still have to think about it... glasses should not cost more than a car payment. Right? She fixed my fave AX aviators too, and stabbed herself in the finger while trying... but was nice and smiling by the end of my visit. I am severely nearsighted and have trouble getting glasses that are attractive and comfortable, due to the thick lenses. Dr Pelitsky is a miracle worker! My prescription is perfect and he worked at length to help me select the right Silhouette frame and then fine tuned the measurements to get the best fit while also giving me progressive lenses that were perfect from the moment I put them on! I was in desperate need of new glasses!! I had two pairs- one I could not find and the other pair my husband sat on an the arm broke off Within the same week. I will not wear contact lenses and the eye doctor I went to for many years is no longer my neighbor at work due to me starting a new job. I felt like I was driving with one blurry eye crooked. So desperate is an understatement... I reached out on Facebook and to friends on where I can go around my area and those that were suggested had insurance issues or Couldn't get me in. I then looked on Yelp and saw glowing reviews so I decided to give it a try. I called up and got an appointment within two hours. The doc was awesome. Didn't talk my ear off, was informative, funny and thorough. He even let my husband come in the room which was nice so he didn't have to wait by himself in silence. The selection of frames were great and they were priced right. I have never paid so little for glasses in my life which made me so happy!- partly from my new insurance thank goodness! Then I get the best phone call in my life an HOUR LATER that my glasses were ready!!!!!! WHAAT?! Yep, READY! I had no idea that could ever happen. Hello!!! THAT IS SERVICE!! I agree with the reviews about the professionalism of the staff when ORDERING your glasses. But when you have a problem, not so impressive. I ordered glasses that without insurance would have allegedly cost over $1,000.00. With the help of the salesperson I decided to get the best so I could have exactly what I wanted. Lightweight frameless glasses with transitions lenses. After wearing them 2 months I go to put them on and they literally crack and break right at the bridge. When I went to the store to see what my options were I was very disappointed to find that they were happy to replace them at a 50% replacement cost. Since I used insurance this would be about $350. And that is only because they were going to replace just the lens that broke. The other one had a chip from falling on the ground when they broke but according to them it was "wearable." I went to Costco and spent $800 and got two pair of glasses with high index lenses and transitions plus a pair of prescription sunglasses. I have purchased glasses at Costco and Sam's club. Both have stood by their product. Sam's goes so far as to replace scratched lenses or broken frames free for up to a year. I was hesitant to go to a vision store to begin with because I think their prices are ridiculous. This just makes me more sure of my decision to keep going to Costco for glasses. They can't be beat! I've been coming to this Pearle for years (although I'm not good about coming EVERY year) but I came on here to rave about my experience and am not at all surprised to see all these great reviews about Dr. Steve. So, allow me to add my 2 cents! I have really messed up eyes, astigmatisms all over the place, very oddly shaped eyeballs etc (Dr. Steve explained it all much better than I just did) so I require super-specialized contacts, even moreso now that I'm in my 40's. I went to Pearle a couple weeks ago, as I required the whole eye-care package: an exam, new Rx, new contacts, new glasses. Dr. Steve was so concerned about potential discomfort (because apparently my new contacts, bifocal gas-permeables, are difficult lenses all around,) that he wanted to see me a week later after I'd been wearing the contacts long enough to see how they were working (which is a FREE follow-up visit, for MY well-being, at MY convenience) and when I came back today for that appointment, my only complaint was a little fogginess (due to the fact that I'm still using old (not Expired - just not the Latest/Improved) cleaner). So Dr. Steve gave me thorough cleaning instructions as well as a kit for hydrogen peroxide cleaning, and wants to see me again in 2 weeks to make sure the fogging issues are resolved (again - because I saw someone complain that they had to come to Pearle 6 times for their glasses - I am NOT complaining, because these are Free Follow-Up appointments that I could blow off if I wanted to..... I know that Dr. Steve is NOT trying to waste my time (OR his) with unnecessary, free appointments!) So, yes, Pearle IS expensive, at least if you don't have vision insurance AND you require gas-permeable contact lenses, which are not cheap ANYWHERE (and frankly, if I DID find cheap ones, I'd be afraid to wear them!) ***But you definitely get what you pay for. **** (and in this case, that's a Good thing!) Tina, (I believe that is her name - the woman who runs the front desk and from my observations is probably the manager or office manager,) was SO helpful every time I dealt with her. Especially today, when I came in to see the doctor but had my new (one week old) glasses with me, and one of the nose-pads seemed looser than the other. Although it was a lot like when your car makes a noise at home, but is quiet when you take it in to be fixed... I tried to show her my concern, but it didn't seem as obvious when I was at the store, as it did at home... yet she adjusted them and did whatever was required to please me, without making me feel like she was just appeasing some crazy woman :) AND since I've been getting my contacts and glasses at Pearle for the better part of the last decade, I know from personal experience that if your glasses get bent or the alignment is off, even if your glasses are several years old, you can walk in off the street at any time and they will adjust them for free. In fact, the gentleman who helps with the glasses fittings actually adjusted my OLD glasses for me when I picked up my NEW glasses, so I have a working back-up pair, just in case (even though it's the old Rx and I shouldn't wear them, they will be fine in a Temporary Emergency). EVERYONE I have dealt with here, is extremely kind, friendly and PATIENT. I'm on disability and some days my mind just does not wrap itself around some pretty Basic concepts, such as alternating methods of cleaning my contacts to address the fogging issue. But Dr. Steve was SO patient at explaining (and Re-explaining, and re-re-explaining) and didn't appear the least bit frustrated or annoyed at my truly STUPID questions. In sum, for many years I avoided going to the eye doctor unless I broke a contact lens and needed a new one. I once went 8 years with the same pair of lenses because I didn't want to go through the hassle of going to the eye doctor and getting a new Rx and new glasses and contacts. But as long as Dr. Steve and the staff at my local Pearle are around, I'll be taking much better care of my eyes going forward, because it is REALLY a HUGE relief to have an eye doctor you KNOW you can trust. I take a medication that makes it necessary to get a health exam on my eyes by an ophthalmologist. I did so the other day and he offered to do my vision test at the same time. I declined because I only trust Dr. Pelitsky with that. He is that good! There is nothing that I can add to what the other reviewers have stated but I can reinforce them. He is patient, thorough, caring and will not waste your time. I have been going to him, I believe, it's been 3 years and have never been disappointed with the Dr or his staff. I and my husband have been going here for the last five years and absolutely love them! Dr Steve is amazing and is very thorough with his exam. My husband has an eye condition that makes it difficult for most people to get his prescription right. But Dr Steve is very patient and deligent and gets his prescription perfect Everytime. Doug is wonderful with his recommendations for the right glasses and provides a great customer service experience. I highly recommend this place. This place is not in network with our insurance but we would still rather come here than go anywhere else. He was very chill and put me at ease. My appointment was for an annual eye exam. I do not have glasses or contacts so I can't speak for the Pearle Vision products or glasses fittings or anything like that. This review is purely for the doctor! He was easy to talk to and it was a pleasure to meet him and have him check my eyes. He happily answered my questions (and I had a lot of them!) I'm through with all chain eyeglass shops.​ ​What other type of business expects you to spends hundreds of dollars with such consistently inept customer service? Now I like eyeglasses to take two visits: one to choose and order them, and one to pick them up.​ ​This took six. The first frame was defective, they were all twisted up when I picked them up so they adjusted them, I was back the next day for another adjustment. Back again two days later - they just would not stay straight. But at least the lenses​ were correct. Per their guarantee, they replaced them - no problem, very professional. ​The replacement eyeglasses did not have transition lenses but I picked them up after dark so I didn't realize it.​ When I called, the technician cut me off. She was so sure that I did not understand that you have to be OUTSIDE in the SUN for them to turn dark, she wanted me to bring them in so she could check them. Then she informed me (accusingly) that I had not ordered transition lenses. More discussion, explanations, confrontation...by then I'd had it so I asked to speak to the manager. She refused. Honestly, I think she was having fun. Yes, it's true I raised my voice. That was my mistake, speaking more loudly to ​someone so rude doesn't make them suddenly get it. I don't spend over $​7​00 in any store and accept sarcastic, condescending service. I feel a little bad rating them this way because the doctor there is really nice. I'd rate them even lower if someone else didn't make it right in the end. But next time I'll buy eyeglasses at my doctor's office. read more

Dr. Steve has great reviews, and after my visit visit I can see why. I made an appointment because my current glasses hurt -- deep gouges on the bridge of my nose. And these are top-of-the-line $800 glasses. So why didn't I go back to the place of purchase? I did - 4 times in the last two weeks, with no relief. And the doctor I normally see is booked until mid-May. Anyway, I went in hoping to get an eye exam and intended to purchase new glasses. Dr. Steve did a thorough exam, and then he examined my glasses. After a few expert tweaks, they now work fine. No pain. He even showed me what was wrong. I recently came in to order new contacts and get my yearly exam. I was referred to this location because I heard great things about Dr. Steve and I was definitely not disappointed! Dr. Steve is one of the best eye doctors I've had a chance to work with - he was very thorough at explaining the results after each exam and made me feel very comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process. I have horrible astigmatism and not many options for contact brands but Dr. Steve ordered me a couple samples and made sure I found the perfect pair that worked best before I had to commit to buying a full order. The staff at the store were all very helpful especially Doug who was great at following up to see how the trials were working for me and made sure I was satisfied with my order. I'm due for a new pair of glasses soon and will definitely be back here to get that taken care of! read more

I was very pleased with the expertise and service. Prices were a bit better than specialty shops I had been shopping at. I did bring in my own European frame but their selection was better than expected and I probably could have found something here. Glasses were ready in 4 business days during the holidays which I appreciated. Hours are pretty good. I don't have a very good insurance plan but they worked with me as if I did. Horrible customer service, lied to me on the phone to get me to come in. Sales clerk further lied to me in store about which brands of eye ware my insurance would accept to get more money out of me (for eyes further down the road MUCH better customer service and didn't play that game), only time she actually seemed to want to help us is when my wife was showing an interest in the coach frames. After telling me on the phone and while i was picking out the small selection of frames i was told were covered it would take 3 to 5 days with my insurance to receive my glasses, the ever so lovely sales clerk waited until after running my wife's credit card, that it would more like 2 weeks because my insurance had to make the lenses????? How incompetent and greedy is this business? Save yourself the headache and go to for eyes, they let me know there were NO restrictions on the brands of eye ware my insurance would cover, much better selection and customer service, not to mention the no scratch coverage is a heck of a lot better for a few dollars more.
