I love their chestnut bun $4.5

On the right wall side, there is shelf for bulk and big round brioche $4.2-$4.5 They are so handy for quick breakfast and very tasty! I bought chestnut brioche which is about 30cm diameter and 10 m depth. Very dense and rich enough for the price. It's not real brioche from a fancy French bakery but super soft and buttery. Bulk one are bit dry inside. The balance of chestnut is good too. Those spots are mainly sweet and no need to have jam.

Their napoleon was huge so i had to buy it. We also bought egg tarts and chinese white sugar steamed cake. I just took a picture of the napoleon. So many layers. The top has peanuts. Coconut and powder sugar. The layers create a mouthful of texture. Pretty gd but i wish they had a walnut layer inside like Anna's bakery. The chinese steamed white sugar cake was super. Soft and tasty but nothing too special

A pineapple bun, a coconut bun, and a mini egg tart all for $1.70 after tax.

How have I not been here before? This little gem is across the street from a plaza that my hubby gets his hair cut at and we decided to stop by for a post-lunch dessert. We only had a toonie on us (it's cash only) so we were ready to drop it all on an egg tart but I was shocked to find that they have a mini egg tart deal at 3 for $1.60! The pineapple bun and the coconut bun also had the same deal so I asked to mix and match and they were happy to comply. The egg tart had a soft shortbread cookie-like shell and the filling was slightly sweeter than average but it was perfect as a dessert. I actually found the mini tart to be the perfect size as well. The buns were ever so slightly smaller than the ones you might find at maxims or t&t but they were delicious and they were an incredible deal. I cannot wait until my next visit... I'll just have to remember to bring enough cash to try EVERYTHING!

Probably can be a one-star higher if marketing was a higher priority for them. Only thing going for them is value and cheap, surprise, surprise. I get that these places are small-time compared to Anna's but as you can from pic, pretty plain jane. Located across from the McDonalds, easy to miss as the exterior isn't really eye catchy, plus a bus stop here doesn't help, but on to the review... Like how it's spacious, with the counters a bit deep, so you can actually stand back and just snoop around first...other places, it's so small, and they're on you right away. Ordered the egg tarts (the bigger ones over the mini's), napoleon (not as well made but dad liked it), coconut bun and the 'cookie', which for a $1, was worth the nibble all day. Worth a repeat visit as there are 2 tables to hang out. Frozen buns of some sort also available in their cooler on the left side. Cash only. Friendly.

This bakery on Victoria Drive changed hands a few time in it's history. The current owners have a fairly good customer base with many returnees. They lack marketing, but have a good strategy going for them. They are located next to a bus stop and they open their doors so the fresh baked good aroma can flood nasal passages for the people waiting for the bus. 9/10 times while I've waited for the bus, I made that U-turn into the bakery for the coconut buns. They sell fruit and chocolate sponge cakes, daily baked buns and specialities items. Their items in the display case aren't as fresh as the ones in the cooling racks. Their prices are fairly cheaper than the ones at the Maxim Bakery (in the London Drugs complex). There is three other competitions on the Victoria Drive/41st area, but Mei Yee has the better buns.

It's good. The prices and the sizes are alright. I like using my Chinese talking with them even though my cbc chinglish isn't very good.

Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? Was playing email tag and finally submitted the 39 flavors and didn't hear back until after another week and then told they won't deliver only in morning when they know our reservation was for 730pm and they're open until 9? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better! Go to Mello which isn't too far and they bake fresh daily better pricing and reviews and consistency!

And also the more modern cold desserts such as mango, ube sago and even grass jellies. We opt to order their ube trio and it was heavenly. It had an authentic and strong ube taste. The sagos were cooked just right with the perfect texture and most importantly, it wasn't too sweet. We also ordered their instagram worthy mahjong tiles which is essentially red bean and coconut pudding. It's very cute and definitely instagram worthy. It's not too sweet and I liked that it came with a side of red bean sauce which made it less dry. The money is also made of edible paper but we didn't touch it cuz it felt weird eating it. However, it wasn't anything special and we wouldn't order it again. It was quite busy when we arrived on a Friday night but it's much easier to go in a smaller party. We were a party of 2 and walked right in even though others were waiting because they needed a bigger table. The place is clean and service was fast. They don't have a time limit even though they are busy so it's a great hang out spot. We would definitely be back to try out other items they have to offer.

I'm from the Bay Area and we have our fair share of Japanese grocery stores (shout out to Niiya in Japantown in San Francisco) but I was very excited to see the selection here. Definitely came across items I've never seen before like a Takoyaki flavored Ramune. It was extremely discounted just fyi probably for good reason. They even had Japanese canned drinks stored hot like in Japan! The take away Japanese desserts also looked good. This place is right on Robson street so a great place to grab a snack, drink, pick me up while shopping. Prices seemed reasonable. One caveat is that it can get busy in here and the aisles are small so it felt a little crowded but that's sort of like Japan as well lol so not a big deal for me. Added to the ambience. Checkout was quick and easy!

Service is cheerful, personable and brisk. The store also houses a takeaway crepe and ice cream shop - the crepes are actually better than the ones I've had in Tokyo.
