I didn't know what was the hype with Jin Mai Bakery, but after reading up about it I found out they make famous egg tarts. Apparently, the previous owner passed on the recipe for Marui bakery eggtarts. It's made fresh everyday and I went in to grab a few first thing at 10am. Just absolutely creamy and delicious. The flakey crust is light and heavenly. I tried a few of their other items such as the sausage bun and matcha loaf, which gets a thumbs up as well. Cash or debit only.

Best egg tarts I've found in Vancouver so far! Light, custardy and flakey making it the perfect bite. At only 1.70 per tart, it so easy to get hooked. The bakery itself is small and almost missable, but definitely worth a trip for their tarts. I haven't tried the other bakery items yet but everything looks and smell so good like their buns and mochi. Friendly staff. They only take debit and cash.

All very, very fresh. Light and flaky crust for the egg tart, but the filling was missing a bit of something something - vanilla? More egg yolk? Pineapple bun was soft and fresh as well but topping was a bit too sweet for me

Lovely little neighborhood Chinese bakery. Place is small but seems to offer the basics and more. Items are all fresh with a variety of items on a cooling tray being packaged. The place looked clean and all the prices were reasonable. I got a bbq pork bun, dried pork bun and durian mochi. The durian mochi didn't have any fresh fruit but for its price I can't really complain. The other 2 were good. Nothing particularly special about them but consistent with other Chinese bakeries. I'd return to try more items.

Usually for last few years I've been ordering from Esther at Dipnsip & Unni Pastries. I was…read morereferred at my friend's wedding as I was looking for cakes and pastries for in-laws. Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? Was playing email tag and finally submitted the 39 flavors and didn't hear back until after another week and then told they won't deliver only in morning when they know our reservation was for 730pm and they're open until 9? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better! Go to Mello which isn't too far and they bake fresh daily better pricing and reviews and consistency!

Also a lot of red bean. For savoury, they have large paninis and lasagna. The service is friendly and there's sufficient indoor seating.
