Where do i begin, I was supposed to take a trip from Tampa to Atlanta with a connection in Orlando. I book these tickets and later that night i go to the location here i Tampa to catch this bus that was supposed to leave at 10:15....Yea so the bus doesnt make it until 10:40 and leaves around 10:55 which then not only makes it impossible for me to catch the connection but if i got on this extremely late bus i would've been stranded for almost 12 hours until the next bus was leaving. I call to inform customer service of my issue and the lady tells me that the only way for me to be assisted with this matter is for me to get on the bus, ride to Orlando, then miss the bus. After which give Megabus a call so they can "see" if they can assist then. So me being the brilliant person I am...I call my ride and go back home expecting to be able to speak to a reasonable person in the morning. Now i must say my expectations with this fraction of a customer service department were way too high. I called, spoke to a person named Odane who proceeded to tell me that at 8 am there still was not an update in the system of when the bus to Tampa had arived so he couldn't validate my concerns but i would have to send an email to inquiries@megabus.com to have someone look into the matter. Not to mention the fact that there was a severe language barrier so alot of what I trying to convey was not being fully taken in, processed, then understood. So i asked to speak to his supervisor. I was then put on hold and transferred to Monique who was a little more understanding and i thought to myself "yes finally we're getting somewhere" until she went on to admit that the bus was excessively late but they would not be able to compensate me for the missed trip do to the fact that the connecting buses where so close in departure and arrival and if the bus leaving from Tampa had left on time its a possibility that I wouldn't have made it anyways. She then referred me to the same email for an "investigation" to be done. I hung up before she could finish. I will never spean money shit not even data from my internet with this company. They never show up on time and the driver is rude. He left my son stranded in Orlando because he decided there was no room for his bag once they picked up other passengers in Jacksonville. He just drove away at 11pm at night. I called customer service who basically said too bad. They were just as rude as the driver and told me the driver had discretion to decide. I did not receive a refund and this was a round trip ticket with another ticket that was purchased in Atlanta GA to the final destination in Alabama. The other horrible experience is when they didn't show up and refused to refund. Customer service stated we should have waited for the next bus? I purchased my son a 3:40am ticket and the next bus was at 8am. There is no bus terminal so where was he supposed to wait...again stranded. I had to drive to get him and take him to Atlanta to meet the connecting bus so he wouldn't miss class. I will NEVER use them again. They are inconsistent, rude, and have horrible customer service. i checked craigslist ads under rideshare and saw someone trying to go from gulfport ( south st pete ) so i texted him about Megabus. Next morning he took the 9am bus from Tampa to Miami and he just texted me saying Megabus was awesome ! read more

Poorest service EVER!!!!!! I have nothing to say but that cheap things always end up costing you more. There was this guy at the counter who didn't want my mom to get into the bus because the luggage weighted 3 more pounds, she was about to loose the trip and therefore the plane in Miami, he was so disrespectful.... megabus has a horrible service. they change the bus stop and i lost my bus from orlando to miami. no refund. people who works they are very rude. i do not recommend this bus at all. try to find another way to have a nice trip read more

I've been having a hard time these past few months and I really wanted to spend some time with my family for Christmas. I reached out to my brother to see if he could help and he was able to book me amd son round trip tickets to Atlanta for the holidays. This morninh I took an uber to the Megabus terminal to make it to the bus on time but when we arrived there we noticed a sign stating that the Megabus location had moved. Long story short, me and my son ended up missing the bus. Lucky there were others there as well waiting and one really nice couple ended up giving us a ride to the new Megabus location. I tried calling customer services to explain my situation but they were so rude and nasty to me. This has been the worst start of my Christmas holidays ever. Me and my son waited in the cold for over an hour. It really was not my fault, uber still has the former Megabus location listed and there were numerous people there waiting like myself that also ended up.missing their bus. Customer service didnt even try to work with me. They said I would have to buy another ticket and hung up the phone. I couldn't help but cry and I really tried to hold it in since I was with my son but I couldn't. Tomorrow was Christmas and I couldn't believe they were treating me like this and being so indecent when I had a minor with me. I've never experienced customer service like this before. I'm trying my best to stay positive. I would not recommend Megabus. I usually take greyhound and they really are much better overall. Worst experience in my life. read more

Was catching a trip from Tampa to Atlanta and had a transfer in Orlando and the bus was almost 2 damn hours late so I missed my transfer to Atlanta and they telling me it's nothing they can do WTF.......that's not my problem y'all was late then telling me that I had to be out of the station by 12 because y'all closed...I will never ever ride this crappy bus service again....GREYHOUND for now on..... read more

For me is call MEGALOST! The 10 bucks you save compared to other bus companies, is not worthy for time delays, bad customer service, unsafe trip and if you no make it on time to the station or you call to modify you schedule within 6 hours before departure, they will not allow you. I lost $80. I booked a trip, just me and my son, from Orlando to Miami, the bus was supposed to departure at 2 pm. we have a car broke down at 12.30 pm on our way to the station, We call the customer service to notify the situation. the lady that talked to me, she told me she was in another country, and she kept refusing to let me speak with a supervisor or other person above her, she said in a rude way that we lost the money and they wouldn't make any changes within 6 hours of departures, comparing theirself as an airline. I was expecting to pay an fee for the modification, like 20% of the paid ticket, like Greyhound does, maybe lost half of the fare, but not the whole fare just because I need to reschedule to the next departure hour. I was not even canceling my trip, I just have an inconvenience out of my hands that requires a change of my departure time. Since i was stranded and far from the station, by the time we got there got there (2:30 pm, and the bus left 10 min before) I had no other option that bought another ticket for both of us, another $80, for the Bus scheduled to departure at 6 pm. and Guess what? the Bus departure was at 7 pm. and nobody notify at the station, and of course there will not be any refunds or at least an apology from this company. I decide not to use them anymore, it was a bad experience at all. I was lucky i Have the extra money to pay for my next trip, i usually don't have many money with me, as the many people that choose to travel in these Buses for the affordable fares compared to other methods. Companies like this take customers for granted, they see us as low class customers and don't care. I got on the Megabus in Miami at 12:30 pm and was checked in by the driver. I showed him my confirmation paper, he told me I was ok to get on the bus. The trip itself was fine, but I began to notice the time. It was getting later and later and I was supposed to have been in Orlando around 4:20. I got to Orlando at 7:49 having missed my bus back to Miami (as it was a day trip). When I asked the people working here what can be done to rectify the situation, they became extremely rude and unprofessional. Horrible representation for your growing company I might add. I was being told that there was nothing they could do and to call customer service and to not ask them another question about it. HORRIFIED! I could not believe I was being spoken to and treated this way! I did however call customer service thinking maybe there I would be met with people who have an ounce of dignity and respect for customer satisfaction. I kept being placed on hold and being told to call back within a specific period of time. What?! And then what put the proverbial nail in the coffin was that I was asked to REPURCHASE a ticket to get home. I ALREADY PURCHASED THE TICKETS I WANTED TO PURCHASE! This experience was in the simplest form the most disturbing and unethical display I could have every had the displeasure of being involved in. And I will continue to post this to discredit this company as it does not deserve to have customers if they are treating them this way. And once home, I will no longer patronize this company as they have a lot of work to do to get their attitudes about business and service up to par. read more

I received terrible service from Megabus upon my most recent trip. I planned on taking two buses in order to reach my final destination. My first bus ran an hour late, and realizing this during the trip I called Customer Services twice along with a friend who called once. All experiences were extremely unhelpful and more than that: insulting and offensive. It was not my fault that my first bus trip ran late and Megabus seems to refuse to take blame for it. All I was told in return was that my connecting trips should have 2 hours in between. I understand why this is suggested but nowhere did I see that suggested on the website nor before or when I purchased my tickets. I am unrightfully not receiving a refund for my second trip that I did not take and am left to stay overnight in a city I am unfamiliar with, all while being treated disrespectfully and clearly not being cared for whatsoever. At the very least I should receive a refund while being treated nicely, but I did not even get an apology neither from the bus driver herself nor Customer Services. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't even entertain the idea of using this company unless you can't afford going on a more expensive mode of transportation. I booked a trip from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale on July 1,2016. The bus left on time but developed engine problems half way. The driver pulled off the interstate but felt he could continue. However about 70 mile from our destination the bus broke down. We pulled over to the side of I95 just past the Palm Beach exit. Megabus eventually sent a charter bus from West Palm beach but that bus had a door malfunction and is still on the side of the expressway. This company has no customer service capacity. Th employees recite scripted responses to your inquiries and are unable to rectify any disputes. First and last time for me. Use Redbus or Greyhound they're much more capable of dealing with irregular operations. I finally just got off the bus and walked up the expressway ramp and caught TRI RAIL home.
