Hot mess express. This one needs zero stars but that is not an option. I gave it a one star because the driver was professional and kind. But if you like to ride on long trips sitting next to loud cursing, threats, and physical altercations this is the bus for you. Not to mention of the whole front end of the bus heard the loud couple arguing and mentioning how one of them was a pedophile. Children on the bus, yes. Oh and I almost forgot one of them was drunk. The gentleman kept getting up, fell several times, once on me, once halfway down the stairs. Worst company ever! Where do I begin? How about wrong address posted. The location shown was a lynx bus stop. Where was the bus? Try a good 10ft behind that location. Next, rude driver! The driver was a dick! Just very rude and sarcastic. He would not let me on because he "couldn't open the door because he was in driver mode". Now stop right there if youre thinking ...well dont be late next time. I was there at the lynx bus stop at 3pm. What time was the bus supposed to leave? 330pm. Oh! It keeps getting better! The number of low ratings about a service that costs $1 (at most about $20) is astonishing. IT'S ONE DAMN DOLLAR! Were you expecting caviar and champagne? Maybe a massage followed by a manicure? C'mon now! That said, here's what to expect. You can take the city bus from the airport to the Megabus station for $2. It takes about 45 minutes and no transfer required. Bus 436s. The Megabus depot has inside seating. Check-in began 30 minutes beforehand. I had one suitcase and a backpack. There was no issue with my luggage as it met their guidelines. Other patrons were considerate. A mix of students, vacationers and people that were probably visiting family. The bus was not full and I was able to sit by myself. I used the plug-in to charge my phone, which was great. I sat on the upper deck that has great views and a glass ceiling. On my trip from Orlando, we stopped in Gainesville and another stop for lunch. The departure was 9:15 and arrived at 2:40, originally was supposed to be 2:15, but no biggie. People took longer at lunch. The bus was clean and the bathroom convenient. This was a way better option than flying to Tallahassee from Orlando, which is about $250. Definitely try Megabus if you want to save some money. If you're looking for a first class experience with all the frills, then fly and pay for it. You will be much happier. If you come in with the right expectations, then you will thoroughly enjoy Megabus. Remember: - No refunds means you will not get a refund, no matter the case. Ask your questions BEFORE you buy. Giving them a one-star review for not refunding your "non-refundable" ticket is stupid. - It may be hot, cold, luke-warm on your bus. Bring appropriate clothing to make yourself comfortable. - Follow the luggage guidelines. Don't act surprised if they don't let you on with excess luggage. It's pretty clear up front what you can bring. - it's a bus travelling on public roads subject to traffic. There's a chance it may not be right on time. Add some buffer time in in case this happens. - Wifi is through a satellite, so best if you have a back-up plan in case it is not available. The only reason they are getting 1-star is because of the staff. The window staff was nice in getting everyone checked-in in an orderly manner. However, the whole system is a mess! They do not honor reserved seats (which you pay a fee for online), it is literally a clusterf*ck of whoever is first in line and gets on the bus and people are cut-throat, which is whole reason I even bothered paying the fee and choosing my seat. I even asked the guy at the window when I didn't get anything that had my seat number on it and he said "if there's someone in your seat, just tell them to move"...what!? Then, our bus was supposed to leave at noon and at 12:05pm we get an email that it will be 45-60mins late. Again, what!?! The staff did a good job of getting everyone on the bus in a timely fashion, but we still ended leaving about 50mins late...with no apologies or partial refund or anything. The bus was very warm, but at least our bus driver was nice and did his best to cool it down. Honestly, for the $10-15 difference I should have sprung for the Red Coach and avoided this literal hot $30 mess! I'd say you get what you pay for, but honestly this entire racket is grossly overpriced. And the wifi was completely non-existent! White dashed lines divide the dark gray asphalt into 12 foot channels; channels curl around corners unimpeded. "Megabus.com" accompanied by a stout, plump chauffeur appears on the screen before you. Blue lounging chairs and speckled floors hover over bodies seated below. "Ahh... laddies and gentlemenss... welcome to Megabuss... I am ya driva, ya chauffeur..." (a Louisianan accent dribbles and bounces over the intercom). "We'll be hav'n no alcohol or tobacco. If da cameras catch ya, ya'r trip will be ...term...i...nat...ttted." Driver was so rude and disrespectful to passengers. Threatened to throw a passenger off when he dared to put his luggage in the "exclusive driver luggage" zone. Meanwhile most passengers were treated like cattle carrying backpacks on laps and under feat. Claimed he would have to charge them if they put their backpacks in the under bus compartment. Watched driver yell, intimidate, and threaten a passenger because he didn't like what what was being said in their own personal conversation. Passengers pleaded for driver to just calm down. I did everything I was supposed to on my end and because the customer service is extremely lacking I missed my bus. I showed up 15 minutes early and went to the window to like directed and no one was there the entire time they were loading the bus to inform me that I was supposed to be on the bus. I called "customer service" to request a refund and input a formal complaint but no one could help me. I'm extremely frustrated with the way I was treated by the staff at the stop and over the phone. Now I'm stuck in a city with no way home because I refuse to EVER use this service again. I need someone to police these people so that this never happens again to anyone. Megabus steals from their customers. Megabus broke their contract with me by changing the agreed upon pickup location. Not able to make the new location, I asked for my money back. When Megabus broke the contract, they no longer had legal right to my money ($35). They refused to refund my money. They therefore are now committing theft. When a transportation service will not observe their own contracts, anyone who engages their services has no guarantee their money and time won't be stolen from them. I read the reviews about megabus and I was scared as hell to try it for myself but because it was my cheapest option, I bought tickets anyway and expected the worse. Everything went perfect. This was my first time ever taking a bus and I literally had no problems. I went from Atlanta 11:59 to Orlando 9:00 am the next morning. Bus was on time, staff was polite, and even though it seemed like a lot of people there was still room to spare on the bus. I had my own seat on the second level. Bus was clean, had air conditioning, and we made a stop half way through trip to buy food and snacks. Made it to Orlando almost exactly at 9, actually a couple min earlier. I was literally waiting for something to go wrong and Im also super picky, but it could not have went any better. Maybe I got lucky? Lol. I say give it a try. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. My daughter, who is a college student, was dropped off at the Orlando stop located at the Florida Mall. There was no sign for Megabus and she could not find her stop. She was trying to get home before Hurricane Ian hit but was left by this mystery bus. I tried contacting the company before bus departure, but no live person until 8 am. Unfortunately, her bus was due to leave at 7:55 am. I will never ever ever use Megabus again. Also, no refund. My trip home back to Orlando was delayed by 3 hours and a half was supposed to leave at 12:40 the other next set bus back home was 3:40 it didn't come until 3:55 because that one couldn't fit the passengers from the 12:40. I called the hotline spoke to multiple rude customer service staff all telling me different times frames one even hung up on me. Finally spoke to a supervisor named Veronica who lied stating I was going to get issued a full refund regarding the trip home and to my dismay was emailed a $25 coupon code that I didn't want nor will use. Called again to fight back my payment they said there's nothing they can do but supply the code. Showing they're crooks for cash. And you might as well walk because apparently none of the buses ever work,break down and the staff is like just thrown in there without a care for quality service. My experience with Megabus left me with a funny story and it's worth sharing. I'm not dissing them entirely because they were convenient to get my destination but you get what you pay for. I used Mega bus to travel to Atlanta, GA and I was impressed by the fact that the bus leaves the Orlando stop at midnight and gets you to Atlanta around 8 a.m. The bus structure is similar to Greyhound buses there is not much cushion in the seating but it gets you where you need to go. The bus did exactly what it's suppose to do and got us to Atlanta and back to Orlando. However the ride back to Orlando went like this.. imagine sleeping on a non cushioned bus and out of nowhere waking up with sweat dripping down your face, your back, your legs! The air conditioning broke on the way back to Orlando so I woke up to passengers cursing, complaining! I looked at my boyfriend and we were both wet from sweat dripping from no A/C. We were looking like rats thrown in a river! Plus, a bus full of sweaty people stinks like ____ ___ fill in the blank. The poor, unlucky bus driver had to apologize to everybody on the bus but she could not give refunds. This lady also almost passed out from the heat but the bus continued driving until an hour later the bus stopped to switch with another bus. We switched buses so that the other customers can try the sauna bus as well so that nobody on our bus can have a heat stroke. No refunds occurred in this scenario so next time I will carry a bathing suit in my bag because apparently they have built in saunas for the bus amenities. Lol! Now I understand things happen but if the company at least acknowledged and found a way to disfuse the situation then they wouldn't of had so many upset passengers. read more

This is a destination bus ride; it will get you from point A to point B. I just needed to get home for the holidays The window staff was quiet. I showed him my reservation and he gave me an access card. The driver was pleasant. He answered all my questions. We left right on time. When the ride began, he went over the rules on a microphone but we could not understand anything he was saying as the static went in and out. We arrived 20 minutes earlier. z The promise of Wifi was deficient. I ended up using the data on my phone. However I was able to charge my phone with the use of outlets above me. The bathroom was cleanly. It had enough toilet tissue and the sanitizer was full. I would recommend bringing your own wet wipes or hand sanitizer. It was worth it for the price. Horrible- I repeat- HORRIBLE customer service (phone/email). Unreliable service between Gainesville and Orlando; my first trip, the bus ran an hour late. The second trip, the bus ran 2 hours late. Megabus phone and email representatives advertise a 90 minute compensation policy, and when I requested my compensation for the 120 minute delayed bus, they stated my payment would automatically be refunded to my account in 3-5 business days. 3-5 business days passed, no refund. I call back, and they all of a sudden have "no record that the bus was delayed". Shady business, and will be reporting to BBB. read more

I used megabus from Orlando -- Miami in May and July 2014 and I had a great experience with them. The bus leaves Orlando at 6am and gets to Miami at 11am which is great because I have the whole day in miami, then leave miami at 6pm and get back to orlando around 11p which works with me. The stop in orlando is great location because it is next to the Lynx bus station but the stop in miami isn't directly close to the city but I can easily catch the metro rail that goes around that area. I'm actually going up to Atlanta in a few weeks on this bus and wanting to go to Washington DC/New York by megabus from orlando but still determining how that will eventually turn out. Lol Pros: Cheap affordable prices Modern double decker buses Clean and Spacious Seats Cons: No Shelter or Stations in some areas (cold.. hot.. rain.. snow) No overhead storage except under bus Wifi is very limited!! When you see the pictures I'm including with this review you will understand why I gave them 2 stars and those are because it was relatively cheap. If you are planning to take more than 1 large back you will be forced to buy an extra ticket instead of paying for the extra luggage. I paid 5 extra dollars to be seated on the upper level right up front, those are the reserved seats but sad to say people don't care and nobody checks if you indeed paid for that "upgrate" cause there were some guys seated in that area that clearly didn't pay for it. At the station in Orlando the "waiting area" is none existent, the men restroom was out of service and smelled badly, it is located in the ghetto part of the city so be careful and watch out, you will see scary people everywhere and finally if you need info there is no one who will provide it to you there, no customer service whatsoever. read more

I purchased tickets online. I arrived 1 min after the departure time and missed the bus, ok not the end of the world. I call customer service to see what happens next and they said nothing I just lose my money because "when you missed the bus or arrive late there is no refund or credit to another bus, you just lose your money and could book another trip for 7.00$ over the phone" that's their terms and conditions. I've been choosing mega bus to travel Orlando-Miami and way back for about 5 years and it used to be awesome. When they were located at Semoran blv everything was great, the building was easy to find and they had this huge luxury blue buses where you could travel very comfortable. Now, at their new location everything is shitty, the building is hidden, people have to wait for the bus at the parking lot, and the buses... THE WORST EVER! I don't know if it's due to a budget issue or what but now they have those ugly, smaller, old buses that are just unacceptable, last time the freaking AC was broken so we had to travel all way down to Miami (4 hours) sweating our asses on those smelly seats. Very bad customer service. This morning my uncle had a trip from Orlando to Jacksonville. When we get there, I show the driver the confirmation number he told that's not what he need very rude tons. I suppose to received an email with all the details. I told him I will log in to the email to find it. By the time for me to log in he just drove off and leave him. This is the worst ever DO NOT USE MEGABUS. Bus NEVER showed up. Each time i called they would say wait 10 minutes and call back. I was hung up on about 5 times no available supervisors. When asked to be reimbursed they read off a email and hung up twice. From daytona beach to orlando 9-11-20. On top of that there is no signage for the bus location. I felt bad for the other passenger who was maybe 18 and stranded. Never will i recommend or use megabus i will go greyhound or any other bus. Pleasantly surprised! I took this bus not long ago from Orlando to Atlanta and back again. The bus was always on time, clean and stopped for a meal/gas station break. The staff was helpful. The ride was smooth and without any issues. The price was unbeatable. For the most part I was able to sleep comfortably, as both departures were at night and I had a pillow with a window seat. Most passengers were courteous and respectful of others with the exception of two people for a short period. Cons: The pickup location in Orlando can be scary at night. Do not go alone, and also have someone wait with you until the bus leaves. read more

The bus was still parked and loading luggage, and they had plenty of time to let my girlfriend onto the bus, but they didn't let her and now she has to wait 5 hours for the next bus. Not to mention, because of their backwards policy, after screwing over a customer, they refuse to give a refund that would have allowed us to afford another service. Bus broke down 10 minutes in; was it bad luck? Well another passenger mentioned its the 3rd megabus she's been in that broke down. Waited 90 minutes on the side of the highway, no one showed up to repair or a replacement bus to take us. We couldn't miss our cruise and it was starting to get a bit close for comfort. Decided to suck it up, pay the $150 in cruise parking, and gas, drive down to the port of Miami. Megabus's automated resolution; $5. The round trip fair for two people was $92 with preferred seating , fees etc and megabus decided that $5 grand total was enough. I complained saying all I wanted was a full refund, nothing more and they gave me 50% off next fare HAHAHA But with reliability this bad and customer support this horrible I will never give them my business, and will tell everyone I know to stay as far away from this horrible company as possible. read more

Rudely told me to read the sign while sitting on his phone about 5 feet away. It took a act of God to get him to come close and actually listen to me. Which still amounted to no real help.
