Loud and busy with sassy servers and fun ambience! Go early because they don't take reservations. I always order the sweet chilli cauliflower even if (as Simon pointed out below) it's often too sour. The Lovely is my favourite dish hands down. I was originally stuck between the Noodly Thai and the Lovely but the server definitely twisted my arm in the right direction. SO GOOD omg. Very disappointing first (and last) experience. 1. Was told it would take 15 minutes to get food to go. Wound up waiting 45 minutes 2. Just as my food was coming out, the server dropped it on the floor and I had to wait another 5 minutes for him to remake part of it 3. Dry burger, not very flavorful 4. My cousin and I went here and ordered a mix of dishes. We tried the satay sauce and spicy mayo fries, and they were my least favourite, simply because there 1) wasn't enough sauce, so it didn't really give me that poutine-like satisfaction 2) the fries were limp and lacked salt, it wasn't a situation where the sauce bogged down the fries (there wasn't enough sauce to do that), it was as if the fries weren't fried for long enough, or were baked instead. For like $9, it wasn't worth it at all Next up, we had the Sweet-Chili Cauliflower. The flavouring of this was pretty good, again wasn't blown away considering the hype that surrounded them. If there would be anything to improve, I just found that the sauce could've been more viscous, I thought it was a bit thin. You know the texture of like asian orange-chicken? Even though I've been vegan for 4 years I know the texture of that sauce, and I suppose I was just hoping this dish to have the same feel. Then, we had the mac and cheese, add on the sausage, if I go back, I would forego the sausage, as it was a bit to dry for my liking. The mac and cheese was good, tasty, but not amazing. For desert, we had the cronut (the cheesecake was sold out! Disappointment :( ). It was good and hit the spot. Overall, great atmosphere, but I felt like I ordered the "wrong" things on the menu. As I left feeling unsatisfied compared to other reviewers that literally rave about the food. Maybe next time I'll order a burger, and cross my fingers for the cheesecake. However, I believe that any restaurant should have good things on the menu, not just a few select gold-star dishes that make the rest seem underwhelming in comparison. read more

I come here often with my vegan friends, but honestly, I've dragged a bunch of my non vegan friends here too because I enjoy the food. It's comfort food with a little less guilt than usual. Their appies are okay, but I'm a big fan of their mains. Their burgers are definitely a yes for me, as you get a generous amount of both fries and a salad with the burger. I've also tried a few of their bowls as well, and really enjoyed them. Portions are big here! You will definitely leave this place feeling satisfied. read more

Update as of July 17, 2017: Going vegan for awhile & after getting back from 5 vegan days at Burn in the Forest, decided to treat ourselves & go for vegan lunch. Got there before the lunch rush - had "The Main" burger with salad & fries. I wish I had taken a photo of the fries, they were awful. Lukewarm, greasy, when I held one up it wilted & drooped. Not the kind of fries I want to eat. Left most of them on the plate & the server didn't ask us how our meal was. The burger was ok, the patty is good. We will look up vegan burger patty recipes and make them at home. Had an upset stomach within minutes of leaving the restaurant, went immediately home & all the food left me in one fell swoop. Considering I spent 5 days in the forest eating home made vegan food without a hitch, that's a big deal for me. Today's meal was the last I will ever have at Meet. I've eaten at Meet in Gastown 4 times now, and if tonight was the first time I may not go back unfortunately. I've had the macro bowl which is super yummy, their garlic fries are excellent, and I've tasted the double bacon/double cheeseburger - heaven. Tonight, we tried the deep fried cauliflower and the hot chiggins. Both tasted exactly like they had been pre-deep fried, then warmed up & covered in sauce & brought to our table. The nacho fries came after these 2 dishes & they were HOT & spectacular - we'd order them again in a heartbeat. Wouldn't order the caesar salad again, but unfairly probably b/c we prefer anchovies in our dressing. The coconut bacon is yummy though. Marissa is an amazing server and we look forward to seeing her again, as we will be back, but not for the deep fried appies that's for sure. read more

We have had lunch at this restaurant before, and it was fantastic! We really enjoyed the food and the service was at least 4 stars. However, a 5 star review would include a finer selection of drinks. The wine list was offensive, as was the "young fashioned " that we ordered as an alternative. My girlfriends teeth hurt from all the simple syrup they poured in the drink, and despite the fact that we left half of our disgusting beverages in the table, she nearly got sick from it on the way home. Needless to say, we will not be coming back for dinner unless we bring our own wine, which is unlikely as the uncorking fee is as rude and offensive as the drink menu! read more

The food here is good but the service is always terrible. Waited 15 minutes at a table before a server even acknowledged us. Food came to us 40+ minutes after seating. Have not had this issue at the Main location. As per food recommendations - any of their burgers or their kimchi poutine always hits the spot. The cauliflower "wings" are nice as well. Went here for a special get together with some people we don't get to see very often. The food was good enough. It took quite a bit of time to get our order out and it wasn't that busy. It was a cold wet night and my aunt asked for a warm drink. Brittany R our server said that there was nothing of the sort available. We made some suggestions from the menu of things that could be warmed up, however our server indicated it just would not be possible to warm anything like that up as they just didn't have the means to do so. Lol. After that she was pretty chilly. It was pretty obvious she thought she was doing us a really big favor waiting on us. This place is outstanding. The venue is in a cool part of gastown and it has a great ambience. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The food though is absolutely outstanding. I'm not vegan - but am vegetarian, but both times I've been, I've gone with meat eaters. All of us were hugely impressed. Everything is so flavourful, and unique. Great restaurant for dietary restrictions. I have many allergies including gluten, dairy and soy. MeeT still uses a lot of soy but the server pointed me to the soy free options. I ordered the quinoa and kale salad and was able to customize and it tasted great! I also had a side of kimchi - it was a small size for the price but tasted yummy. My husband started with the Hot Chiggin' Things and it was also a small size but he said they tasted JUST like boneless buffalo wings - they are made out of soy and pea protein. His lunch was the mushroom burger with a lettuce wrap and fries and he says that tasted amazing. The margarita he ordered was good even though they still use simple syrup The reason why I'm taking one star is because our server was very slow, we had to keep getting her to come to our table and the portions were small for the price. When I saw the length of the waiting list as I put my name down on it, I was sure there was no chance we would be eating there. As it happens, we were seated within 20 minutes. Then our party (started out as 3) became the nightmare party as it grew to 6 people, which necessitated a change to a bigger table. We were happily accommodated on all counts. I really had no idea this was a vegan restaurant, and didn't really care either way. The food blew me away, it was excellent. I had the El Fab bowl and loved the flavors and textures. It was very, very good. The spicy yam, guacamole and whatever else was in there was superb. I actually thought the faux-sausage in it was real, and only after-the-fact found out it wasn't. It didn't matter, because the taste was amazingly good. I also had their corn fritters, which were excellent, and a couple of cocktails. The restaurant was packed and certainly on the hipster-side of the spectrum, but it was all good. We had a blast and I left full and happy. And it was really affordable. I have been to Meet probably 30 or so times with my husband and with friends. The service is always great! Wait times can be quite long unfortunately and you have to wait out in the cold depending on the season. I normally wouldn't give a place to two stars but this is why; THE FOOD. When they first opened and up until last year the food has always been good, not great. But cheap comfort food that fills the "I don't want to cook and it's right across the street". But this past year I have started to come less and less because the quality control and food is getting worse. Recipes are the same but the kitchen staff aren't. Last night I ordered the Mac and Cheese like I usually do, wrong choice the noodles were cooked to MUSH and it tasted like they dumped a full salt shaker in the dish( I LOVE salt and this was to salty) so I sent the dish back to kitchen and they remade it for me this time the noodles were mushy and crunchy not even a nice Al Dente and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. I rarely ever send things back to the kitchen, and usually if I do it takes them one try to get it right. The manager understood and took it off my bill, but I was so upset that my dinner was ruined and I was full from having a few bites of each trying to give it a chance and not send it back to the kitchen. Seriously hire new kitchen staff or train them better because that was awful and ruined my dinner because I rarely eat out. Service and staff are great though food apparently isn't. I won't be back ever to meet, the food was just to awful. Get it together guys the food is getting worse. Sincerely a sad customer. read more

Visited this location for the first time on Sunday, May 28 at about 12. We were seated right away, and I was able to get a booster seat for my 3 yr old. Staff were all very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and brought a takeout container and the bill very prompty. We ordered burgers with fries, simulated bbq chicken strips, mac n cheez, rose kombucha, and ginger beer. Textures and flavours were perfect, reflecting thoughtful and skillful preparation using high-quality ingredients. Ginger beer was the best in Vancouver, and I loved the rose flavour in the kombucha. We stumbled on this restaurant by accident this past Sunday and it was amazing. None of our party are vegan so it was a new experience for us, but we all loved the food that we chose. We got up to leave before ordering as we didn't have any more time to spare on our luch break. When explaining why we were leaving to what appeared be a supervisor, she touched me to guide me away from earshot of other customers (not cool, don't touch people you don't know), didn't apologize and simply offered to take our order. Excellent. I recommend the double double burger and the chocolate hazelnut fudge ice cream. The owner is wonderful.
