The salad with cheese, cashews, craisins, apple, and creamy garlic dressing was excellent, with a wide variety of textures represented. It felt like a crunchy salad and was fun to eat, helping balance the rest of the items at dinner. The harissa cauliflower was curious. I had a few bites initially, and then I came to some realization that it tasted fairly off-putting, almost like some chemical. There was some aroma that didn't seem quite right. I conferred with wait staff and kitchen staff and they assured me that that was the proper flavor, but my body and taste buds weren't convinced. They were professional and assured in their communications with me which was appreciated, even if my senses didn't match their convictions. The polenta with beef tenderloin tips was amazing. The polenta was creamy and well-flavored and the flavor was a cheese flavor that was balanced nicely the brightness of the tomatoes. The cook and tenderness on the beef tips was amazing! The mussels with microfrites was problematic: the mussels were dried up, and overly salty and in general overcooked. The microfrites were overcooked as well, tasting burnt despite being nicely crispy. The seafood bourride came off as a tad too sweet, without enough differentiation in textures. The monkfish itself had a nice texture, but the shrimp was overcooked. The steelhead trout special was decent, particularly the zucchini and rice pilaf sides. The trout itself was a tad too stiff, and for the price wished that it was a tad fresher. It was labeled as "Catch of the Day" but the freshness on the fish itself didn't match the label. The duck with cannellini beans was quite amazing if a tad rich. The cook on the duck was perfect, so tender, and the beans with the arugula added a nice touch of balance with the richness of the duck. The salt content could have been lessened. The Canadian bacon - I wasn't sure what effect it was supposed to have on the meal - just added saltiness to an already heavily-seasoned dish. The service was amazing, always responding to specific questions we had about the dishes and noted dietary restrictions as well. Couple of comments about the architecture and the space: the table was a bit small for the number of dishes we ordered, and it got really dark to the point that I couldn't see the food past sunset. The proprietors should consider placing a light on that side of the restaurant. It gets really noisy when crowded. The carrot cake dessert was super textbook classic carrot cake, executed to classical perfection. I probably should have abstained because it was super sweet, but it was undeniably delicious. This seems to be an establishment with big aspirations, a generally fun location to meet with friends and family, in a neighborhood that's in the midst of a boom. It seems to be quite a hopping place and it deserves much attention going forward.

This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. We were dearly craving the roasted apple featured on their online menu before, but it turns out that the apple has been replaced with the homemade mulled wine and biscotti! Meanwhile, she ordered the Londonlicious autumn salad, the vegetarian toasts, and the creme brulee. While the food wasn't drop-dead amazing, the service was great! I had attempted to get a reservation the day before, but was told that they were fully booked. When we arrived, they had originally wanted to seat us down at the bar, but after considering it, they offered a table for two that we would have to return in an hour. That being said, we never felt rushed in our meal - they never hinted at us to leave, even when the other couple who had made the reservation arrived Instead, they sat that pair down at the couches, and asked us politely if it would be okay to give us the bill now. They were very friendly and considerate (and thus, the extra star)! Our appetizers came first, and we were quite surprised at the small portion sizes. My ceviche was tiny! The cracker/chip was well-done (very crispy and tasty), but there was very little tuna - just very little to eat in general. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her brie at first, but then found it overly heavy after a while. This was a recurring theme, as it turns out all their vegetarian options have brie (she's vegetarian). Our entrees came next, and again, I was quite shocked at the smaller portion size. That being said, I found it adequately filling, and I was actually fairly satisfied by the end of the main meal! The smoked salmon was delicious! My absolute favourite was the pickled onion one... the slight sourness balanced out the saltiness of the salmon perfectly. The raspberry compote was good, but a little too sweet. I was excited to eat the caviar one, but found that they added too much of the herb garlic aioli. I believe there was some dill and/or cream cheese in it, which drowned out any flavour of the caviar/salmon completely! This was my least favourite, because it was quite heavy. My friend's vegetarian toasts came in three pairs (totalling six). I tried her grilled peach and candied pecan one. Although I enjoyed it, I wasn't a fan of the cheese spread. I think it would have been tastier without it! She was unable to finish the pear and brie ones, mainly because by that time she was quite full/sick with the heavy brie (it came with her appetizer as well). The desserts came last. By this point, I regretted ordering the cheese and fruit board, because I wanted something light to finish the wine. Thinking back, the homemade mulled wine would have been a delightful choice. Anyway, I polished the fruit and left the cheese to take away. My friend ordered the creme brulee - and it was HEAVENLY. It was so utterly creamy and sweet inside. Perfectly executed, with the right brulee on top! Although it was slightly pricey (such is the student life), I did enjoy the experience. Don't know if I'd come again, but it is a lovely date spot and a place to chill with friends!
