On our day trip to London Ontario, looking for a place for lunch., we decided to chose a restaurant on Richmond Street. However, the place was closed on a Tuesday afternoon. We decided to choose another place in the area and came upon The Tasting Room. We mentioned to our server that we were just looking for some snacks .... since we were not that hungry yet. And he made us feel so comfortable and not pressure to order more!! We start off with The Aperol Gin Sour to go along with a few apps. It was very refreshing and not too sweet which is just how I like it!! Since there was two of us... thought we would order a few apps, we ordered Kangs Fiery Pork on($18) which is marinated in a spicy sauce .. really not all that spicy for me but it was delicious. It's all also served with a sesame cilantro Spaetzel (a German type pasta) which was a great compliment. We also ordered the Truffle fries ($6) ... such a good deal. I enjoyed it so much... the fries were served piping hot with a nice fragrant truffle and topped with Pecorino Cheese. Only thing, the fries were served in a metal cone shaped container, so the fries at the top had all the pecorino lol cheese but when we hit the fries in the middle, it was just plain. I asked if they could give more cheese for the fries in the middle. Amazing.... they surprised me with a new batch of fresh hot fries with lots of cheese. And the server came with an extra dish of shaved pecorino. Such a nice touch ....thanks so much! Great service here! We really enjoyed our server who was working by himself but was attentive and so pleasant. If you are visiting London, I recommend you visit The Tasting Room. I will be back when I'm in the area for dinner.

I recently visited London for work and boy does this city have some fantastic options for food. On our last night we walked to this restaurant from our hotel as parking can be a bit of a challenge since it doesn't have a parking lot. I had the scallop salad as I had ate a very large lunch and it was delicious. The Scallops were perfectly cooked and the right amount of dressing. The blue cheese was fantastic and the nuts provided the crunch needed.

We were in town for our anniversary and wanted excellent food with a chill vibe. We got everything we wanted in the Tasting Room. We sat at the bar and had great conversation with the bartender Malcom and the owner Carl. The appetizer options were insane. Nothing disappointed. When I couldn't find a cocktail I wanted, Malcom asked what I liked to drink and created me my own specialty drink! We will DEFINITELY be back

In town on business working for the university and I was doing some Yelp'ing. I tried to go to The Church Key, but they were closed for renovations so I looked across the street and boom... The Tasting Room. So I walked in once then came back 3 more times that very same week. I'm glad The Church Key was closed because I may not have experienced this place at all. Here's why I love it... Atmosphere/Appearance: This place isn't big and it isn't too small. It's not even medium, but maybe a smidge smaller. Lol. The restaurant is so mature, a bit elegant and homey. The bar rail is nice and high and there are quite a few tables on the opposite. The lighting is dim and the decor is light. I like it. Service: Ryan was the first guy who took care of me. He's there on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. He was my favorite of the 3 bartenders that took care of me throughout the week. He was sweet, charismatic and SUPER friendly. He even offered to hang out with me and show me around the town. I really appreciated that. Ryan, Paul and Reed all were excellent bartenders who gave me everything I needed and made awesome recommendations. I appreciate all of them. Food: I was able to try 2 of their wine flights. Both the Cabernet and the Sauvignon Blanc were very delicious, but I was able to customize my flight (Reed warned me about doing this on busy nights) and found that I LOVED the Lost Angels Cabernet from California (how fitting) and the Darling Cellars Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa. Now for the food. I'm going to go over everything in the order I had them. The Lamb Sliders were absolutely incredible. They were my favorite of the 8 food options I got the chance to try. They were a bit salty, but my goodness they were flavorful and oh-so delicious. The Tuna Loin was very good as well and the salad it came with was WONDERFULLY fresh! I loved it... just wish more tuna came on the plate. It was an appetizer though so... yeah. Ryan recommended the Kalbi Kui saying it was his favorite, so I tried it and could easily see why. It's Korean style short ribs grilled and served with a spiced cabbage slaw along side a sriracha aioli that was super flavorful as well as lean. The aioli was a bit overpowering, but was still a good addition to the meat. The Duck Drummettes were a confit crisped and tossed with a Kung Pao glaze served with crunchy slaw. I really liked the flavors that all came together. I still had a bit of room left so I asked Paul if I should try the Crab Cakes or the Lobster Lollipops. I'm glad he suggested the crab cakes because they were delectable. I felt like I was in Baltimore getting crab right on the harbor! Amazing. The next day I did try the lollipops and I see why Paul went against them. They weren't that good. It felt like more filling than lobster. They were very sweet, but okay. I wouldn't get them again. I tried Kang's Fiery Pork as well and it was very delicious. It was similar to the Kalbi Kui, but was a different cut of meat. Also very good. You can't seem to go wrong here... unless it's the lobster lollipops. Lol. Last, but not least... I tried the Pan Seared Scallop Salad. I know seafood is light and I hadn't eaten all day so I added a salmon filet to it. Everything was... you guessed it... good. The meats were cooked well, the pecans added a great sweet crunch and the bleu cheese added a good twangy flavor. Like I said, the food here is fantastic. I look forward to trying some of the actual entrees on their menu since these were all appetizers. Value: All prices are in $CAD so you can do the math for whatever country you may live in, but for $USD, this place is pretty affordable. It's not cheap by any means, but for what I got, it was totally worth it. Cabernet Flight (4 2oz. pours) = $12.00 Sauvignon Blanc Flight (4 2oz. pours) = $12.00 Seared Ahi Tuna Loin = $17.00 Lamb Sliders = $15.00 Kung Pao Duck Drummettes = $14.00 Crab Cakes (2) = $16.00 Kalbi Kui = $15.00 Kang's Fiery Pork = $18.00 Lobster Lollipops (4) = $18.00 Pan Seared Scallop Salad = $22.00 + Salmon = $9.00 I LOVED THIS PLACE. I would eat here every day if I could, in fact... I may explore the other side of the menu when I come back to town!

Every experience I have had at this restaurant has been wonderful. The wine selection is great and I especially love the Sauvignon Blanc tasting flight. I was here recently to celebrate my graduation and the service was awesome, our server was attentive and kind. The food is so tasty although my steak could've been a touch more tender. It can get a little loud but otherwise the ambiance is very nice.

Second time to dine in here, have to say the artichoke dip didn't have the sizzling entrance as the first time but the taste was still the same. Very creamy and honestly, we made sure the bowl was clean. My partner and I got the beef tenderloin and the half rack of lamb. Divine dishes! Perfectly cooked and tender, both paired well with the wine we got. Highly recommend if you have not been here yet.

    Cosy atmosphere

Wonderful service and excellent food - had the mussels and truffle fries - great combination ! Nice selection of wines by the glass and very reasonable prices . Would def recommend and come back if ever back in London ! Parking is behind the building in a private lot

I've been meaning to try the Tasting Room for a while now, and finally opted to come here on date night last week. We had made reservations for 6pm on a Sunday, but it was pretty empty when we first arrived, though it filled up promptly by 6:30. The interior is more simple than I expected, but still welcoming. I loved that there were so many options on the menu. Its appetizer menu alone is something that I would come back to try again. My order: 1) Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio 2) Crab and Lobster Stuffed Chicken His order: 1) Seared Ahi Tuna Loin 2) Herb-Parmesan Crusted 1/2 Rack of Lamb Having never tried beef sashimi before, I was thoroughly impressed by my appetizer. The presentation and flavours were both of top quality. My chicken was done well, but the crab and lobster did not quite embody the flavours I expected. The tuna was seared beautifully, and was a more savoury appetizer. We asked for the lamb to be cooked at a medium, and the chef did a good job of not overcooking it. Overall, it was a delicious but pricey meal (and not necessarily the most filling). I will definitely be back to try more of the appetizers, as that seems to be a popular style on here.

Not a bad idea to get a bunch of different appetizers instead of a main. They had so many appetizer options and the ones I've tried were all a hit! Really enjoyed the ahi tuna on chips, the frites, and the crabcakes. The bruschetta was just okay. Nice ambiance; got busy pretty quickly on a Sunday night after 7.

My taste buds were blown away by the food here. It's always a positive sign when the meal starts off with fresh bread and whipped butter that's ready to impress. The spotlight goes to the coconut rice shrimp balls. The name does not do justice to these crispy, compact rounds of shrimp and rice--fried and served with the perfect complement of a flavour-packed curry sauce. Every bite had a combination of all the best textures, spices, and macros! For mains, let's talk about the seafood pasta. I was impressed that they sneakily mixed in julienned vegetables with the linguine. The pasta, juicy shrimp, succulent mussels, and perfectly cooked salmon were coated in a rich, creamy sauce, so that you didn't want to put down your fork. The chicken stuffed with shrimp and lobster was creatively tasty, too. Order it with the garlic mashed potatoes and your taste buds and eyes will thank you. It was a delicious, colourful, balanced dish with all the necessary components of a gold star meal. Topping it all off was a golden saffron cream sauce. If your mouth isn't watering yet, you need to try it for yourself!

Like a previous YELPER mentioned, You know you are in for a great meal when the restaurant starts you off with delicious bread and butter, This place surely did just that. We tried numerous items from the menu and really enjoyed all of them. ( See all our fun photos ) The service provided by Paul was also first class. We appreciate the fact also that the restaurant split our shared Ribeye steak for us without us even asking. We do not get to experience this quality of food often but do manage to get in a couple of these meals usually while on vacation. We like to splurge and treat ourselves to a few different things that we do not see back home and this restaurant certainly had THOSE type of offerings. I would highly recomment this restaurant for anyone in London who wants to treat themselves to a wonderfully satisfying meal.

Wow just wow. I didn't think I would find a place this good in London. The bread was great, soft and had the perfect spread that went with it. The drinks were strong, I went with a mango drink that was fantastic. The appetizer which was a tuna thing (no idea but was so good) could feed 4 people and was perfect for a glutton like me. As for the food... O.O Sweet baby Jesus I found what I have been missing in life when it comes to seafood pasta! Not only is this a small but beautiful spot the food is on point. I wish I could have eaten more of their dishes and regret not coming here sooner.

My friends and I came here for a birthday dinner one weekend and had a great time! Our server was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu and specials to us. The atmosphere of the place was nice despite the dark lighting. I know the Tasting Room is known for their appetizers, but my friends and I all ordered a main and split a few apps. Their lobster poutine was very delicious but the portion size was quite small and there were only 2-3 pieces of lobster in it. The portion sizes of the mains definitely made up for it though. I ordered the pork tenderloin with a side of loaded mash and it was very flavorful! The portion of the tenderloin was so hefty that I barely touched my mashed potatoes. The sauce that they served with this dish was also great. My friends ordered a variety of mains (blue ribbon chicken, lobster stuffed chicken, steak, etc.) and they were all quite pleased as well. Last but not least, our server brought us free birthday cheesecake with sparklers! I would definitely go again to try a few more appetizers because they have a great variety.

We were dearly craving the roasted apple featured on their online menu before, but it turns out that the apple has been replaced with the homemade mulled wine and biscotti! Meanwhile, she ordered the Londonlicious autumn salad, the vegetarian toasts, and the creme brulee. While the food wasn't drop-dead amazing, the service was great! I had attempted to get a reservation the day before, but was told that they were fully booked. When we arrived, they had originally wanted to seat us down at the bar, but after considering it, they offered a table for two that we would have to return in an hour. That being said, we never felt rushed in our meal - they never hinted at us to leave, even when the other couple who had made the reservation arrived Instead, they sat that pair down at the couches, and asked us politely if it would be okay to give us the bill now. They were very friendly and considerate (and thus, the extra star)! Our appetizers came first, and we were quite surprised at the small portion sizes. My ceviche was tiny! The cracker/chip was well-done (very crispy and tasty), but there was very little tuna - just very little to eat in general. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her brie at first, but then found it overly heavy after a while. This was a recurring theme, as it turns out all their vegetarian options have brie (she's vegetarian). Our entrees came next, and again, I was quite shocked at the smaller portion size. That being said, I found it adequately filling, and I was actually fairly satisfied by the end of the main meal! The smoked salmon was delicious! My absolute favourite was the pickled onion one... the slight sourness balanced out the saltiness of the salmon perfectly. The raspberry compote was good, but a little too sweet. I was excited to eat the caviar one, but found that they added too much of the herb garlic aioli. I believe there was some dill and/or cream cheese in it, which drowned out any flavour of the caviar/salmon completely! This was my least favourite, because it was quite heavy. My friend's vegetarian toasts came in three pairs (totalling six). I tried her grilled peach and candied pecan one. Although I enjoyed it, I wasn't a fan of the cheese spread. I think it would have been tastier without it! She was unable to finish the pear and brie ones, mainly because by that time she was quite full/sick with the heavy brie (it came with her appetizer as well). The desserts came last. By this point, I regretted ordering the cheese and fruit board, because I wanted something light to finish the wine. Thinking back, the homemade mulled wine would have been a delightful choice. Anyway, I polished the fruit and left the cheese to take away. My friend ordered the creme brulee - and it was HEAVENLY. It was so utterly creamy and sweet inside. Perfectly executed, with the right brulee on top! Although it was slightly pricey (such is the student life), I did enjoy the experience. Don't know if I'd come again, but it is a lovely date spot and a place to chill with friends!

We decided on the following dishes: I) Seasonal grilled crostini II) Grilled octopus III) Whole wheat angel hair with jumbo prawns & scallops The crostini was by far my favourite. I think I had in my head a more tender texture typically found with squid tentacles. The octopus was oddly soft/chewy, and threw my tongue into a bit of a limbo. The pasta was delicious - a reliable seafood dish that was a surprisingly decent portion even when shared. The service stood out to me because we only ordered one entree, and the waitress recognized that we would likely be sharing, and brought it out to us already split up on two separate plates. I had never experienced such forethought, and truly appreciated the gesture. Though prices are a bit higher than other Italian joints in London, I do think Abruzzi is worth a visit.

The appetizers included a nicely crusted and very hot French onion soup, and creamy and rich lobster bisque, and a side salad with Italian vinaigrette. The two soups were particularly nicely flavored; the mixed green salad was solid though some of the leaves were slightly darkened and/or lacked freshness. The mains were excellent; the trademark steak (NY strip and filet) were nice and juicy, with a decent texture for their respective cuts. Also appreciated that the cuts weren't overseasoned (though perhaps I would have preferred more pepper). The vegetarian shepherd's pie was oversalted, and in general the potato top was mostly untextured. The dish itself seemed a bit paltry as well. It came with a salad accompaniment, which was odd, since the salad was being cooked as it was placed next to the cast iron dish containing the shepherd's pie. Also worth commenting on was the plating; the NY strip came with a garnish medley of green beans and carrots; both were cooked to perfection, however, they were presented in a haphazard manner. The mushroom medley accompaniment tasted decent, but they were unevenly cut and came in different sizes. The cauliflower mash was decent; however, there could have been more of it. It was also presented in a rather dull manner. I also think that some coloration of garnish could have helped the presentation; how about parsley or cilantro on top of the cauliflower? A bit of spice as well? The plates themselves were rather dull as well; usually a plain white plate. They could use a trim, or coloration. These details might be passed over or ignored in a lesser establishment, but given the reputation of The Keg, it would be worth making small modifications which would elevate the experience commensurate with the pricing of the menu items.
