Earls is the normal franchise bar one would expect with all the common elements. Place is trendy and clean. Staff is nice and professional. You can even see the cooks making the food depending on where they seat you. Food is good but priced a bit on the high side. The burger was great. The noodles were a bit lacking as some pieces were burnt and no matter how much I stirred it around, the flavor was very inconsistent, probably due to the lack of flavorful components. Perhaps if I pointed out the problems they would have tried to fix but at this level I am expecting them to not make these mistakes in the first place. read more

We were seated immediately after providing our phone number and name. But there was no wait! Mala, our server came and asked if we were ready to order. She brought water but never offered anything else. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger that came with fries. It took about 10 minutes to come, which we didn't think was too bad. Mala walked by once, and we think she asked if everything was ok, but didn't wait for an answer. She came back about 20 minutes later and asked if we were ready for the check, to which we replied yes. 20 ministers later she went to the table next to us to take their order. Then she came back with our check. Needless to say, our tip for her service, or lack thereof, was minimal, at best. The room was very loud, so it was hard to have a conversation while we waited. We will not return. I should note that the burgers were ok, and we think that because we didn't order something more expensive, or even from the bar, she didn't want to waste her time on us. I was excited that they now have a whole plant based section on their menu. I got to try their vegan Beyond Meat Burger with fries for the first time. Sadly, parts of the bun were literally rock hard--you could bang it against the plate and make a clunking sound. The patty was quite tasty, but there were no exciting sauces to go with it. The toppings were the standard lettuce, onion and tomato. At least fries were golden and tasty. Autumn calls for their seasonal pumpkin pie! Unfortunately, their recipe may have changed. The pie filling is less thick and the spice flavours are less distinguished. Also, instead of powdered icing sugar on top of the pie, they now sprinkle granulated sugar. So....My experience with Earls has normally been at lunch and have always enjoyed the "house made soup", etc. Stopped in tonight- apparently Wed is the "steak night" so we decided to go for it. One order of steak frites and one 6 oz sirloin meal ...plus two glasses of wine... The waiter ... extremely friendly...however ... so friendly that he was socializing more than worrying about service. And the steaks.... Steak frites ...the steak was cooked as ordered, but the frites?!? Not true frites...and the garlic aioli was a puddle in the middle of the hot plate. The sirloin....was so tough ... cooked as ordered, medium rare, very difficult to chew. When asked how was everything...midway through the meal...we commented on the toughness of steak...this is where the server didn't want to hear it and basically said..."oh, that's too bad"...don't care... All in all ... a $96 plain Jane meal, the presentation looked like it came from a Diner...and a very pleasant server that had no idea that he should be an advocate for his customers.... We had an absolutely fantastic anniversary dinner here today. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we came in. The servers seemed genuinely happy to have us there. Our meals were piping hot, and fantastic. I had the sirloin, garlic mash, asparagus and mushrooms, and he had the fettuccine Alfredo and garlic bread. Earl's had a relaxed but polished atmosphere and very friendly staff. Lots of vegan options! I ordered the quinoa and avocado power bowl and it was delicious! I was enjoying it so much that I didnt realize until I was done that they had forgotten the chicken I ordered on it. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue with the kitchen. Everybody's steaks (4 of the 9 of us ordered one) were very overdone. Management took them off the bill and gave us free desserts, which was great service. Mashed potatoes , bland and oddly wet. Tuna Poke Bowl - tuna was cubed, very salty and didn't seem firm and fresh. All other in ingredients were very good. The rice was light and flavourful. This particular location experience was kind of disappointing food experience. I was in London for a conference and the group decided to come out here for a meal. The inside of the restaurant doesn't deviate from other Earl's location. It's upscale, inviting, and looks luxurious. We were quite a big group of people but the service staff did a great job of taking care of our needs and making the ordering and payment really smooth. My real disappointment was with the food that was served. For the prices on their menu, it didn't reflect the value I saw on my own plate and my colleagues sitting around me. My colleague ordered the oven-roasted salmon was a small portion and the few seasonal vegetables were just drowned the sauce. There just didn't seem to be a whole lot on the plate for $22. My bigger better burger was okay but nothing spectacular. I've had better at other Earl's locations but this one didn't meet expectations. read more

Earls has long been a favorite of our family. We discovered them on a trip from Calgary to Jasper many years ago. It was hard for us to eat anywhere else. I even called them for a US franchise. So it was delightful to find one nearby when we stopped in London over the weekend. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is and how amazing their staff is for so many reasons. Aside from the food being DELICIOUS (and they are very accomodating for my cilantro and parsley allergy), vintage laps that I would kill for (and the bathroom being the best looking one on the planet) their staff is warm and wonderful and very helpful. Through NO FAULT OF THEIRS I fell and broke my foot and ankle there two days ago --- they took such good care of me I am gobsmacked. They know that I have no family in the city and that my fiance lives 3 hours away so they took care of me beyond the call of any normal business/people should. My wife and I visit Earls frequently. It might be my favorite restaurant in London. The wait staff is always absolutely incredible. The night manager Benjamin always comes to great us when we're there and knows us by name. I highly recommend Earls to anyone, it has a great atmosphere and the food is amazing. Earl's is located north of the Future Shop on the west side of Wellington. The decor is typical modern - dark walls, comfortable chairs, curved booths. Really nice bathrooms. If you've been to Moxie's or Milestone's, then the composition and style of the staff will be very familiar to you. The crowd was a very mixed bag when we visited - small children right up to senior citizens. It's a bit loud which wasn't a problem for us, but might be for older guests. Not long after my guest and I were seated the manager came over to introduce herself - a nice touch. My friend had two of the grapefruit margaritas ($7) and pronounced them quite tasty. They will give you a sample of any wine that you'd like to order, even if you only want a glass. There is a long list of "one price" wines arranged by style. The dinner menu is large, but not overwhelming. I had no trouble finding several options that would work for my allergies. My guest had the lobster gnocchi ($19) which he quite enjoyed. I had a pizza ($15) and it was one of my favourite meals in London in some time. Good crust, good sauce, good size. Earl's isn't reinventing the wheel, but they sure make it spin well. Originality isn't necessary if good execution is there. I would definitely return. We had hoped to go today for lunch, but they don't appear to be open on Saturdays at lunch (there are no hours listed on their website as of yet). read more

Earl's is a chain restaurant that is comparable to Moxie's or Milestone's except with a bit more flair and class. While the food is good, you're certainly paying for it. Standard fare like Fish + Chips is $23. With that said, there are a few options that are a bit more affordable. The Chicken + Brie sandwich is delicious and the side Caesar was probably the best I've had in restaurants such as these (apparently they use anchovies in the dressing). Pizzas and burgers are also well priced and pretty solid. Great atmosphere, trendy interior. This is a good place if you're taking out someone you want to try to impress or if you're a businessperson. They even list the head chef's name on the front of the restaurant. Feels a bit silly as Earls is a chain with a standardized menu. Nevertheless, the food is good. As a final note, I felt a bit underdressed in jeans but the man in the next booth was very comfortable in his jorts. Take from that what you will. read more

We loved everything we got -- carpaccio, clam chowder, lobster brioche w/ mixed salad (candied pecans & feta), margherita pizza. Plus free wifi which is how I'm writing this now. No kids menu but there was enough choice on the menu and the staff were very accommodating. We spent $70 for family of four (drinking water only) for a Sunday lunch. let me give you the 1,2 on this place. I came here for lunch on an extremely hot day. I was immediately seated in a cozy spot with half sun and half shade. The servers were great, they could tell I was alone and just needed a quick but delicious bite to eat. The catered me as quickly as possible. I order the swordfish taco. 100% would recommend, you aren't really living if you haven't had one of these,. Like me give this place a 10/10 cause I was impressed. I've always contended that drinks should never be spicy or salty... This drink might have single-handedly converted me. Food: -eggs bennie-- pretty standard, but on a sour dough base. Now the potatoes that came as a side, holy potato gods! Crispy and not too oily and seasoned perfectly -burger-- how on earth does one eat this beast in a perfect bite??? The onion rings stacked thicker than the actual burger itself and was a bit distracting. Overall the patty was great and well executed. --truffle fries - yum. Get them. You'll enjoy them. Went here in New Years for a double date , it's beautiful inside but I will never ever ever eat here again. We ordered Thai chicken bites and they were 100%! RAW I couldn't believe it ..I think they were so busy someone must have put the chicken bites on the grill and not even one minute later put them on our plate and served it to us . I know earls is waiting for this review and finally I get to write it . We also ordered fettuccini that had no sauce on it . I ordered a RUM and coke and got my drink and asked what it was and the server placed it in the table and said rye and coke and walked away . I tried to get his attention to tell him I ordered rum. Also I know it was New Years so people are drinking and partying and it's hard to keep up with all the people but holy crap literally someone had pooped their brains out and puked on the bathroom walls. - this was no JOKE! And no one was in there cleaning it up or closing the bathroom .... I will never ever go here again. It sucks because this is a nice mature fancy place with horrible cooks and cleaners. :( read more

Even though I live in Toronto I had never been to Earls before. I had heard many good things about the joint! We didn't make a reservation but the wait staff was very accommodating. My only complaint is that after they seated us the moved us to a new table and than back to our old one. However, they were apologetic and it was clear they were trying their best to ensure we had a great time. The set up was very open and there was a lot of space between tables, big fan of that. The food was very good I had the hot wings and margherita pizza. I wouldn't compare it to any great high end restaurants I've been to but it was definitely a step above a place like jack Astors. Prices were fair and were much lower than my Affluent friend Steve is used to paying. Some of the waitstaff were smokin' which is always a nice added benefit. I got the tuna poke bowl and it was actually delicious. The food here is great and better than some of the Earl's in other cities. It's unfortunate that on another visit, my girlfriend's brother had his coke spilled all over him because of the waitress. On his BIRTHDAY. He didn't get his meal compensated, or even discounted. Not even a free birthday dessert that most restaurants offer. On too of that he didn't even get his coke on the house. What kind of awful service is that? No matter how good their food is, you don't walk away with that kind of disgusting treatment and get more than 1 star. read more
