It was pouring rain and I didn't feel like leaving the house, so I ordered the Classic Greek Salad from Doordash. When it arrived, I was disappointed that they forgot the dressing, which was supposed to be a house made olive oil dressing. The salad itself was also a bit disappointing. The olives & feta were sparse. I would have preferred more. Pita bread was .95 cents each and came in the package from the store. It wasn't very fresh, which was another disappointment. However, Doordash did delivery the food on time. read more

Edmon greeted us with two cold bottles of water and explained the menu to us. We had a delicious, fresh shirazi salad and the soltani/kobideh kebab plate. It was fast and efficient, but freshly cooked and very filling. Many to go orders came and went at the same time. We ended up staying and eating because it was so welcoming and smelled so good. The food was delicious, and if we lived here, I would pick it up at least once a week. Thank you for a nice experience here enjoying the Persian and Armenian influenced food. Wonderful! read more

I ordered delivery and it was still hot and delicious by the time it got to me. I got the combo plate with beef and chicken. The garlic sauce is soooo good. I'll eat that with anything. The garlic fries could have been better especially since they were so highly rated. It was more parsley than garlic and the fries tasted a bit stale. Otherwise the main entree was delicious! read more

Best service out there. Owner is extremely friendly and caring of customers Upon arriving, he offered me a free bottle water as I wait for me food. As I was waiting, I noticed he went around and chatted with the customers to see how everything was going. Amazing! I even got a free Shirazi salad as I waited for my food! Amazing customer service and the food is always great. Been coming back almost once a week for this stuff! Portions are generous and can be shared if you got the plate. Amazing customer service. As soon as I walked in I was welcome right away with a water bottle. As soon as I ordered and sat down a very wonderful gentleman walked over and with no questions asked!! He gave a fresh salad with Persian cucumbers tomato amazing flavor and it was free as I waited for my food. The food was amazing I 1000 recommend this amazing restaurant. Can we go back? Can we go back pleeeeeeease? There are so many tantalizing options on the Mediterranean Grill menu that we need to order at some point in the future now that we were delighted by the Chicken Schawarma Sandwich. This wonderfully enticing package included perfectly prepared and spiced chicken, tomato, onions, tahini, and garlic sauce all wrapped in a fresh soft pita. The combination of tastes here was superb. TLDR: Hands down one the BEST restaurants that I've tried in Pasadena and in delivery too. Both the rainbow trout and gyro plate are worth savoring and experiencing. Every little detail and small side for those entrees were meticulously tasted and the sweet and salty flavor profiles were remarkable to say the least. Except the jalapeno... I will never let that spicy boii be on my plate ever again when I return in the future. - - - - - - I discovered Mediterranean Grill on Postmates and wasn't in the cooking mood. I wasn't sure what to order, but a handful of reviews highly praise their rainbow trout fish. Now, I'm not a big fan of fish, but I am open to trying new cuisines. I ended up ordering a Rainbow Trout Fish and Gyro Plate. Both entrees come with a bed of rice, a fresh side salad, a roasted tomato, a roasted jalapeno (caution: SPICYY), a pita bread, and a tasty white sauce. The gyro were very tasty and not too salty. They were salted just right, but also the right texture that they weren't burnt but not too wimpy. The roasted tomatoes were sweet; I really wished I had more! The bread? Amazing. White sauce? Ditto. The rice? Cooked to perfection, smooth, and a delight to eat. The rainbow trout had me a little anxious because I'm not a fan of fish. However, it was very tasty nonetheless. It was cooked perfectly and not too dry. The lemon and herbs and spices used to season the fish made it one-of-a-kind, and I would not hesitate to visit in person after experiencing this excellence in a delivery meal. The only concern I would pass on is to beware of small bones because one may not be expecting bones with a fish lookin' this clean! read more

Came in after hiking Eaton Canyon, hungry but not starved. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate and oh doggy! Delicious and fresh! The owner Im assuming, was very attentive and checked on us several times and kept the pita bread coming! I would definitely return! Ps I just ate my leftovers cold, because I forget to mention how massive the plate was, and it turned into a delightful chicken salad! read more

Met with a friend for lunch, and it was such a treat! The owner or manager was so kind and welcoming. We sat outside in the small courtyard. The owner brought out a complimentary shirazi salad. Perfect for a lunch date. I wanted something light and fresh and ordered the Fatoush Salad with chicken. Wow it was absolutely delicious! The chicken kebab was juicy, cooked perfectly, and paired well with the flavors of the salad I highly recommend checking it out and will be back to try more dishes! Delicious food with big portions, friendly service, and lots of seating. I enjoyed my kabob platter, I had plenty of left overs to take home. We accidentally broke a salt shaker while moving tables for a big party. We felt so bad, but the owner was so super nice about it. Will definitely return to try more items. We discovered Mediterranean Grill only recently, and now we've come here a few times now after looking for a different, more diverse place that serves Persian + quintessential Middle Eastern food in the Pasadena area. My kids are weirdly obsessed with chicken koobideh so whenever we feel like they need a good dose of protein, Persian it is. Anyway, we've never been disappointed here, whether take-out or dine-in. Food is also very fresh, flavorful, and massive portions with both their plates and wraps. My relatively picky husband and son ate nearly everything last time we were here, which is saying a lot. Staff is super friendly, always offering complementary bottled water and appetizers; they seem truly happy to have - and to interact with - customers, in stark contrast to the other Persian place close by. Inside is simple but clean and well-kept, with easy parking in the small lot just south of their restaurant. A new staple here! read more

I have passed by this place MANY times. So, when deciding what to have for lunch today, this came to mind. I pulled around to their parking lot (accessed on Union Street) and entered from their rear door. It was very easy access. I walked in and was greeting by a very personable young man at the register. Not only did I STUDY the menu, I asked TONS of questions. This young man thoroughly answered every question with a warm smile. I very much appreciated that. I finally decided on the Ground Beef Kabob Plate for takeout. It comes with two kabob-shaped patties, rice, salad, garlic sauce, a grilled jalapeño and a grilled tomato. Suddenly, another man (maybe the owner?) handed me a complimentary bottle of cold water. But wait, there's more. He then came and gave me a small plate of the most delicious Shirazi salad (tomato, parsley, cucumber with a flavorful vinaigrette, to keep me occupied during my brief wait. I literally felt like an esteemed guest in their home. When they handed me my Kabob Plate, it felt heavy. I later determined that the rice was PLENTIFUL. I believe that's where the weight came from. I don't recall ever having ground beef kabobs. But I must say that I plan to have them from here again. Everything on my plate was absolutely marvelous. The rice was flavorful but not overpowering. It did what it was supposed to do - accompany the meat. Salad was good and the garlic sauce was phenomenal. Had I known, I'd have asked for extra. My tab came to just over $20 for the plate. This is a tad bit more than this retired gal is usually willing to pay for lunch. But I got TWO meals out of this plate. So, it was very much worth it. I give it a thumbs up. read more

After we lost our home in the Eaton Fire, in Altadena, we were living in a hotel and would come to Sahara for dinner. Every time we came in, they insisted on sending us home with extra food so we would have something to eat later. At a time when our lives had been completely turned upside down, that kindness and generosity meant more to us than I can possibly express. Extraordinary food made by genuinely wonderful people. We love Sahara, and I feel very lucky to be able to support a local family-owned business that puts so much heart into what they do. If you haven't been, go. And get the kebobs. We pretty much knew what we were going to get (2 beef and chicken kabob combos and a beef kabob sandwich plus a 4 pc baklava). The man working came up and asked if I needed any help or had any questions. He let me know drinks were included with the combos and asked what I would like. The man working was very friendly and polite. He brought us drinks, plates, silver ware (cute gold forks and spoons!) The food seemed to be prepared fresh as it wasn't immediate like fast food but definitely not a long wait. The food!!! The beef was pulled apart tender. A perfect medium/medium rare, juicy and flavorful. The chicken had a nice slight char to it. Served on rice, with a side of salad, hummus, pickled beets, garlic sauce and pita. My daughter's steak kabob sandwich (sliced beef, onions, garlic sauce rolled in a pita) served with fries, tahini and pickles!!! Yes they have pickles. Parking is conveniently located around the back. My only real complaint was that the pita was a little stale, but it wasn't enough to keep me from returning. But after a while the garlic after taste becomes too much. If you try this place this is the sandwich to get. In Yelp photos there are a lot of this sandwich so it's popular. We shred this one so after only half the sandwich, I felt it was enough garlic taste. The other item we got was a Beef Lule wrap. It was pretty messy and the pita bread was incredibly soggy and fell apart. I just don't have wraps come out like that. The meat was ok but the whole thing was dry. It was made like a sandwich but in a wrap and it just didn't work for me. It seems like it needs Tzatziki sauce or something. I just thought it could have been a much better wrap. You need to keep it in the wrapper because it just falls apart. I don't recommend this thing. Stick with the popular items towards the top of the list on the menu.

I recently visited this Mediterranean grill and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Not only was the food absolutely delicious (I highly recommend trying their falafel and dolma plate), but the owner was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The owner took the time to chat with me and make sure that my meal was everything I wanted it to be. It's not often that you find such a personable and caring owner at a restaurant, but this place definitely has that special touch. Aside from the amazing food and the owner's warm hospitality, the restaurant itself is also quite cozy and charming. It's clear that the owner takes great pride in creating an inviting atmosphere for his customers. So, I go to M Local Grill every Sunday after church, as it is right next door. I have tried most of their sandwiches and absolutely love the Greek Chicken Sandwich! It is very tasty with the greek yogurt sauce and it is also very filling. Their platters have enough food to feed atleast two people. The chelo kebab is exceptionally delicious and I also like the Mahi-Mahi and the combination platter, which gives you the best of both worlds, chicken and beef. The service is good, as they bring the food to your table after you order. The girls that work there are very cute and make my dining experience even better. They have beautiful greek music playing and a huge mural of Greece of the wall. You actually step into another world when you come in this restaurant. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place. This time I ordered the shish kebab and chicken combo platter, and every single bite was a literal flavor bomb. The meats are incredibly flavorful, tender, and grilled perfectly, and you can really taste the difference when food is made fresh to order. Nothing tastes processed or heavy, so it's one of those meals that feels both satisfying and healthy. The portions are also VERY generous. This platter is easily enough food for two people, which makes it such a great value. What keeps me coming back every week, though, is not just the food. The owner always, ALWAYS greets me so warmly, and the entire staff is just as friendly and courteous. That kind of hospitality is rare and makes you genuinely want to support a local business. One of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants! When I go there I always order the chicken shawerma platter, and I'm never disappointed. It is always loaded with plenty of chicken, hummus, tomatoes, onions, pickled turnips, tahini sauce, and that amazing garlic sauce!! My husband and I like to share this platter, it is always filling and fresh! The customer service is very friendly as well, when my son suggested that he wanted to switch out his rice for fries for his platter, they had no problem switching that out. This is always a plus in my book when deciding what to eat when I don't feel like cooking. Also, they have a Fruit N Nut Delight!! It's the perfect sweet tooth craving satisfaction! My curiousity at times tends to get my into situations where I bite off more then I can chew, but it was not the case in my experience at M-Grill, I definetly chew all that I could bite and went back for seconds. My first time their I tried the "M-Grill Gyro" simply delicious, and im not a Gyro type of guy. My buddy had their Cornish Hen, which he gabbled down. I soon returned for some more of their delicious goodness, I tried their Greek Salad with freshly grilled white Chicken meat, and that too, I enjoyed until the very last bite. I would suggest this place to anyone who enjoys mediterranean food, very good quality, healthy, and very affordable. We live in Irvine, CA but every time my wife and I visit my hometown Pasadena, we stop here to grab a bite. Can't emphasize the hospitality of the owners enough. Always welcomed us and treated with respect and served the most delicious food no matter what we order, because each time we go we order a different thing from their menu. Get the number 12 which is the M Grilled Chicken. I love the food at this place. Arpi who is the cashier was so friendly and helpful in what to order. Please understand if you order takes a little long it is because they are making it fresh and it is not sitting under some heat lamp. If you are in a rush call in your order before you get there. Get the #12 all day everyday! The garlic sauce they give is amazing with the chicken. New owners have taken over and you can tell they are working hard and taking the time to prepare quality food. I read past reviews that they take long but that is because they are preparing the food fresh and it is not sitting under some oven.
