Dana has been my plumber for the last 3 years. He has installed a clean-out for my 1930s home, power jetted obstructions and roots, replumbed my bathroom faucets and recently installed my new hot water heater and fixed the pipes below that had sprung a leak. He is incredibly sharp and knowledgeable at getting to the source of your plumbing issues and conservative at fixing them. He is very honest and thorough in explaining where the problem stems and what needs to be done. He has a very quick response time, when you call him. He has an incredible work ethic and stands by his work. He is friendly, easy to talk to, answers your questions & cleans up the work area. His prices are extremely reasonable. We have had many plumbers throughout the years and no other compare to his Plumbing knowledge and care for your house. I have used Medina Plumbing in the past and have had nothing but good things to say but on this occasion the business seems to be a whole lot different and not in a good way. I had a water heater installed by them 04/2021. I am now having problems with the pilot light not staying lit. It is a Rheem which has gotten really bad reviews. Rheem will not honor the warranty. My problem with Medina Plumbing is right on the owners manual it states that that water heater should not be installed in mobile homes which is what I have. Dana responded through Manny "that is the water heater they gave me". Who? What store? I got no response back from them. Because of this I may be put into a predicament with my insurance and building code. As far as the pilot replacement part Manny quoted me this outrageous price on the part which I can get so much cheaper. When I brought up these questions to Medina Plumbing I am not getting any response back. I will never use them again. They are not trustworthy! read more

We used to use this company many years ago, so it's been awhile, but something's changed and sadly it doesn't seem the same. Maybe we have higher expectations. Maybe it was just "One of those jobs". But in any case, I'm not sure I would call them up as the first choice next time. 1) They misdiagnosed a simple pin hole leak from a copper pipe inside a wall but instead insisted it was an expensive slab leak from our foundation. 2) They spent about an hour or so cutting a huge unnecessary hole in our commercial kitchen wall in the wrong place and couldn't find a leak or any dampness. 3) They left and said they couldn't find or stop the leak. 4) Frustrated, we ended up finding the pin hole leak ourselves and temporarily stopped it in about 15 minutes flat for about $15. 5) We actually had to show them where to cut the hole (in the damp wall) in the correct place when they returned. So now there were two holes on both sides of the wall to patch up. 6) They refused to provide an itemized invoice until we demanded it. 7) They don't respond to emails or messages once the job is "done" and they just want the payment without any questions or follow-up. 9) They did finally ending up getting the job done & provided an itemized invoice. 10) In our opinion, their itemized invoice showed that they grossly overcharged us for parts. 11) As much as we love to support small businesses, this job was overall very frustrating when we felt it could have been much simpler. read more

Dana at Medina Plumbing is truly a person who cares about his customers. My main got clogged and to reach the blockage he needed to put in a cleanout. I was not prepared for a hefty pricetag. He worked with me on the price and I have so much gratitude for him and his empathy. He gets 12 stars out of 5 because he's just that good. He, Anthony, and his team worked diligently to dig the hole to discover what kind of pipes were underneath the sod. I did a happy dance once he told me it was cast iron...this house was built in 1939 and I was so afraid of it being Orangeburg or clay that I had nightmares the previous night. Dana and Anthony also gave me advice about my obsolete toilet (which I'm going to have to replace). Who knew the innards of a toilet are not standard and at some point not being able to find parts to fix a cowbell type flapper thingy would impact your ability to use the toilet. Medina Plumbing will get my future business and I'm telling all my friends and family to use. I hope you'll give him a call. He's local, he's caring and does excellent work. Our bath tub and toilet stopped draining late in the evening. I tried calling 4 or 5 emergency plumbers but no one picked up, well one did but she said the next appointment available was Wednesday. Not sure how they qualify themselves as emergency plumbers. Thankfully Medina Plumbing picked up. They arrived within the hour and cleared our main sewer line. They are priced very well. Dana came out on a bathroom remodel for a home built in 1945. The job was half started, but way more work was needed than was quoted by the first peraon. Why do I ONLY use George at Medina Plumbing? Because they are GOOD at what they do and they are HONEST!!! Called him on 10/10/16 telling him I need a new water heater. Sent him all the info on the one I have. He says no problem I will be there tomorrow ( 10/11/16) at 10AM. Who shows up at 10AM ready to go ....George!! Looks over the heater and thinks it is still in working order. Runs the water out and we see the reddish tint I told him about. Spends 30 minutes with me doing this. Tells me I am good to go and states if I still continue to have this problem to call him out again and we can look it over. Ask him what I owe him for his time...He states nothing. My water heater went out on me 12-13-18 when I awakened at 5:30 in morning. I called Roto Rooter at 6:00 am and was scheduled between 0900 and 1100. They shown up after I called another company. I had to call another plumbing company. Service is terrible. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, unless you want to lose a whole day. read more

I was recommended to use this plumber by a customer. Customer told me that George was very upfront and no BS. Well i called the next day and explained my plumbing problem. He told me he would come over same night. About 2 phone calls later he never showed up. He told me he would call me in the morning to see what time he can come over to check out my problem. Well again he never called so i called him back and he said he would be by late. Well i waited again and once again he's a no show. Do not use this plumbing company!! I paid Anthony Medina $100 cash to fix a "simple problem," a running toilet, which he did not fix. It is still running after he changed one part for $100. A running toilet should be an easy fix for a plumber. If he was not sure which part should be changed, a leak test could determine if a flapper issue; however, Anthony did not know what that test was when I mentioned it. I called Anthony several times since he left our house for him to go back to resolve the issue. Despite I paid $100, Anthony advised me "he does not work for free," when I asked him to go back out to fix the problem he did not fix. Instead, he had his associate call me who agreed would go out to my home, but the associate, Louis, never showed up to his appointment and did not even bother to call me to let me know unable to make his appointment, even after I was advised I would have to pay another $75 to $150 just to fix a running toilet that Anthony never repaired correctly in the first place. I was advised that Anthony is the new owner and George (told was his father) is in Arizona so may be the reason for the decline in service since George no longer runs the business. Very importantly, therefore, do not be fooled by the other reviews, as I honestly believe they are not accurate reflection how the company is run now. read more

I got the dreaded text thanksgiving morning from the renter's at my property that the plumbing is backed up. Called several plumber's and of course the phone call started with holiday rates going to be 3x the price. Wow stick it to you where it hurts. U kind of know your going to pay a little more on holiday. So I went on yelp and found Medina's Plumbing good reviews so called and spoke with the owner told him the problem and he said he would take care of the problem so asked him how much at least half of what I was quoted by other businesses. So his tech was going to be at the location within the hour, he showed up within the hour. while talking with tech I found out its his son, so he explained what he was going to do. So he went to work and the job took longer then expected he was having a hard time with the drain out but assured me he would stay all day if had to to fix the problem. Finally the water goes down and pulls out the snake with the thickest roots I have ever seen.
