The office was modern and offers a range of eyewear at affordable prices. They take VSP and CareCredit as well. Additionally, the practice is very flexible as they were able to fit me in without an appointment. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes. I went here for new glasses…read more The experience was uneven. I went in to ask if they do eye exams for new glasses and they said yes but were "completely booked" for the day. It was about 11am. They gave me some options for the following week which did not work for me, so I was just standing there thinking about what to do when the receptionist said "can you come today at 1pm?" I said sure, not questioning why the booked schedule had changed suddenly. I arrived at 1pm and no other customers were in line for an exam or anything else. In fact, during my whole time there I saw zero people there for an exam, so where the "full schedule" came from is a master to me. They tried to start off with an eye exam but their first machine broke or was not functioning. Luckily, I had recent paperwork from my other eye doctor that they could use, otherwise I was wasting my time and would have to come back another time. They accepted my paperwork so we were in business. After the exam was completed, I chose my frames--they have a decent selection with different price tiers--and Issac worked with me on the price. At the point of purchase I was told that they would text me when the glasses were ready. A week later, I had heard nothing so I called and was told the glasses had arrived. I went in the next day to get my new glasses. I am happy with them, they fit well and I can see clearly again. The day after I picked up my glasses I received a text that my glasses are ready for pickup.

TLDR: KNOW YOUR INSURANCE POLICY. WALK OUT BEFORE PAYING OUT-OF-POCKET FOR SOMETHING YOUR INSURANCE…read moreSHOULD COVER. I work 80 hours a week. Dr. Cleetus has wasted half of my rare off day, and I still don't have a new prescription. I am not going back, and if you have Superior Vision, you should also avoid Target and LensCrafters locations at this time. It was difficult to find a provider who was in network and available on weekend days. I initially appreciated the online methods to make an appointment because in my line of work, I can't make a phone call during normal business hours to schedule an appointment. I did my due diligence: I was informed of my benefits and I searched for in-network providers on my insurance website. Chose Dr. Cleetus because she was listed for both services I was seeking--routine exam and contact lens fitting--and because she had recent, good reviews on multiple platforms. In the days leading up to the appointment, I filled out all the forms I was sent. Arrived 30 min early, which was great because I found out that the location is different from Target Optical. Target Optical sells glasses and is inside Target. Dr. Cleetus' office is outside. During the check in process, I learned that there was a discrepancy. From my insurance website, I expected contact lens fitting to be covered by my plan with only a copay on my end, but on their end (they use Luxottica for their online portal), they didn't see contact lens fitting among my benefits. As such, I was asked to pay for the contact lens fitting out of pocket. I verified that there would not be a penalty for day-of cancellation, and then I left to call my insurance for clarification. My insurance company explained that because of the website portals that optometrists affiliated with Target and LensCrafters choose to use, there is currently a technical issue. They are unable to see all the benefits a patient has. This location had not reported the issue to Superior Vision and had instead been charging patients out of pocket for what is supposed to be covered. It is each clinic's responsibility to notify patients of these issues when scheduling the appointment. I was never notified of this. My insurance spoke with Dr. Cleetus on my behalf. The office confirmed that I had shown up for my appointment. They refused to offer me a free contact lens fitting for my inconvenience. The best they could offer was to submit a claim. When asked what compensation she would be able to offer me for my wasted half-day and gas money, she said she did not feel obligated to do so. I was advised by my insurance to go elsewhere. Of note, they also offer additional services at an additional out-of-pocket cost. I had already selected to opt out on the online form prior to my appointment. Upon checking in, I again felt pressured to change my mind. We only moved on after I explained that I had undergone some of those portions of the exam before but did not have the budget for them today. As a young healthy person, I would not have derived much benefit from such services. I wish the healthcare professionals would have considered whether such harmless but pricey tests were truly indicated for me instead of just pushing anyone to pay for additional services. This practice failed to communicate with my insurance company when there was a technical issue. This practice failed to communicate to me in advance of my appointment. This practice feigned ignorance and said this situation only happens on occasion. The only way that might be true is if they don't have any Superior Vision patients. From the way they responded, it's clear they don't need me as a customer. I hope they see their other paying customers as patients and not wallets.

I guess I'm glad that I received such appalling service from the office of Dr. Nancy Opara & Assoc…read more(namely Lester Eisenberg) in Feb 2021 (read my review if you dare), because I was able to make an appointment with Dr. David Weber & the wonderful staff at The Eye Zone! From the 1st phone call, I was treated by cheery, professional people. I was informed to wait in my car until phoned to come upstairs. This is normal & acceptable in these times. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a staff of 3 smiling people. I was asked to wait in the entry while a woman took my temperature. The doctor & staff never stopped smiling! Dr. Weber did make a comment that I felt was not at all PC, but we got over it. He thought that because I had a Hispanic surname that I didn't speak English so he spoke to me in Spanish. When I told him that I don't speak Spanish, I speak English, he commented that my English is very good. I was born & bred right here in Dallas, my surname is my ex-hubby's, I told him. My Dad's roots are Scottish/Irish! When in doubt, please refrain from comments that trigger one to feel patronized. But, my dad would probably have made the same kind of blunder. Anyway, we did get past that... he escorted me to the exam room, asked me to be seated, asked me to describe any problems I'm having, did not rush me or pressure me, made lots of silly jokes, gave me a cute little paper to cover my eye (he must be a hit with kiddos) and assured me that they are very vigilant about their sanitation processes. When I seemed to change an answer to a previous question, he re-checked my vision to get the most exact data he could. Our visit lasted over an hour. He then escorted me to a kind woman who helped me pick out my frames. She picked out the perfect frames for me! The cashier who checked me out told me I have fantastic insurance, which made me happy! We all laughed and visited a minute before I left. When my glasses arrived. I was treated in the same manner, start to finish. I wish I had paid more attention to the woman's name who assisted me, she was very professional and yet very friendly at the same time. They informed me that my glasses came with these sun shades for outdoors, but since I need my glasses for reading the doc said, use them for reading on the beach! It will be a long year before I get to enjoy their company again, but I urge to check them out. It will be a nice experience. Customer service is almost always hit or miss, people can have 'off' days, but this group seem to be happy all the time.

I was welcomed by the office manager in a friendly "Texas" way! His assistant Christie was also professional and thorough. I got two pairs of glasses from The Eye Zone, both prescription, both super fashionable.
